1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is no one worried about this on: August 21, 2022, 01:31:28 PM
What are we going to do about the 2 billion worth of BTC that Mt Gox plans to release very soon to the public, won't this make BTC crash heavily or the rumour is fake?.
The news of Mt Gox may have some effect on the current market but it is temporary. I personally not worried about it. Suppose the matter is true, but what is the problem? We all know the current circulating supply of BTC is 19,127,550, nothing new is being added here. So there is nothing to worry. Most crypto investors expect the market will recover shortly.

Investors have seen the potential of Bitcoin many new investors have hoped that they can buy Bitcoin at a cheaper price than when they first bought it, if ever they will release it and the holders of those Bitcoin sell it, there's buying pressure from old and new investors the market can absorb it because there's demand and there will be more demand in the future, I don't see Bitcoin going down to $5000 buyers will be lucky to have it at $10k.
Maybe the drop will occur but I haven't thought this will take so long to recover. It can be easy to lift up as the buying demand will increase due to massive massive buying volume.  That is not worrying and never I think people will do panic selling but instead of buying more as the price is cheap.
Well, I think I need to prepare some backup reserved if this will happen.

I think OP you have to control your emotions and stop worrying about the market instead, you are going to be happy for that.
1702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I have bought Bitcoin ? on: August 21, 2022, 12:51:20 PM
If true, this is rather unique and looking forward to more stories.  However, there are some things that seem a bit off but maybe some things got lost in translation?  Since this isn't costing me anything, will give the benefit of the doubt for now as time will tell.  But the minute a donation is solicited, a significant portion of the community will consider you a scammer.
Perhaps, a story can easily be made without doing this in actuality. Because I don't think that Monks or let's say monks today are already engaged in social media which leads this person to know about Bitcoin or crypto. I guess everyone is leaving this in doubt and OP, you'd rather be true to us, to the crypto community.
I know everyone has their story to tell but in your position OP and you are talking about crypto, that seems unbelievable isn't it?
1703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 21, 2022, 11:24:22 AM
SMB is now dictating the game, their defense to Mikey Williams is very effective, Enciso is doing a great job, I think he will have more minutes just to make sure Williams will be limited tonight. It's a 12 point lead, let's see if TNT will have a strong 2nd half.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 21, 2022, 10:46:25 AM

Anyhow, and since Loma has declared his comeback, this two for sure have that at the back of their mind because the winner of this fight will challenge Loma in the next fight. Bob Arum has already set this plan in motion already.

That's a good news if it will happen, Loma vs Haney, such a great rivalry as both are technical fighter. I like Loma to win but Haney is just too fast, so Loma has to make a strategy that will expose Haney's weakness, which no one knows for now.
1705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do real traders care about bear & bull market? on: August 20, 2022, 11:43:47 PM
Op, if i am to answer your question directly, I will tell you that traders care much about the bear and bull markets. It is not only the traders that care about the bear and bull. Also ordinary investors who do not sell in short time care about bear and bull markets.
Everyone cares about bear-bull market since it has a big role to influence the prices of crypto market. If we have no bear-bull market periods, we have no significant changes in crypto prices. It means we can't get big profits from crypto investment if we have no significant changes in prices. So, every person who has crypto coins should really care about bear-bull market.

Perhaps, the market price really matters when you are in trading. However, traders will still make benefit from the volatility of the market despite any market condition as they still have the chance to earn a few bucks out from a roller coaster trend. I'd see their roles in the market and these traders help to keep the market alive as they actively do buy and sell making the price move. Their continuous participation despite the risk they face, it gives an absolute impact on the price.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore is the second country to follow in El Salvador's footsteps, do you agr on: August 20, 2022, 11:20:10 PM
I'm uncertain but what I'd just hope for them is they have planned it carefully and don't be like El Salvador who tremendously lose their effort due to no concrete plan and fail. I'd just hope they got an idea from others and it is not only to have regulations but they need strong support for their members and their people to accomplish this big project, otherwise, they will also fail.

But anyways, it was good to see that more countries are making their way to legalizing Bitcoin as a currency. I'd foresee more countries will going to follow as long as they will see success from those who start already.
1707  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: August 20, 2022, 02:11:34 PM

For sure the bull and bear market condition teach them good lesson on how they can approach for another time around.
Not only in El Salvador but that teaches everyone, especially those who are new in crypto. They now realized that the market is really tough and it was had to understand. They oversee the possible scenario and fast adoption, they underestimate the situation and think that their people are ready for this, sadly they are not and they fail. But I think it is not an option to quit, they now need some patience and market workout to help people understand. maybe in this time, they got some support from merchants and partnerships with these business owners.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 20, 2022, 11:24:20 AM

So I don't see Davis being in the trade block for Lakers, most likely it will be Westbrook first. But since there is no news already and it seems to die down, maybe there will be not trade, Westbrook staying in Lakers and then Irving with the Nets.

But Westbrook for Irving? That would not happen, he was even traded by the Wizards because he did not fit in their system, in fact, when he got traded Wizards improved, it not only due to the injury problem, they have a chance to be in the playoffs last season.
1709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: August 20, 2022, 11:03:06 AM

But it will be interesting what the sports bookies will open up the Over and Under odds. You reckon it will be on the 7.5 rounds as well? Or will it be 10.5?

For sure odds will be available soon, or Loma by KO in rounds (1-3) (4-6) (7-9) (10-12), we just have to choose from the round ranges. However, if the over/under odds is 7.5, I will take the under for sure. Anyways, whatever it is - I still bet for Loma as I see him have a big chance to win this fight.
1710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe ? on: August 19, 2022, 11:08:08 PM
There are still lot of possibilities that even how those sellers in Binance or other platforms are legit or well verified, risks still there, so that's why I am very careful to do transactions there, like double verify first the seller, check profile ,check feedbacks of past customers, and another thing is dividing my orders or splitting them into small amount with multiple transactions just to be safe.
P2P trading is becoming more risky as scammers are desperately seeking new strategy to defraud buyers online. I have experience it countless number of times and I'm lucky to always get him caught and report to Binance with immediate effect. Perhaps I prefer buying from Binance verified Merchants which have the standard price of the stable coin one wants to buy. If P2P is risky as it is, then switch to offline, buying from your personal vendor, that's even clear because you're seeing him face to face unlike the P2P online.
Do offline business and transactions are not what we aim for now as crypto is designed online. Though P2P is risky and scammers will take advantage for this, it could be best not to use this platform but instead do actual trading. There are a lot of trading platforms in the market where we are sure that we are not dealing with the hands of these scammers while taking this P2P as their medium to scam.
perhaps, we are already aware of the risk of doing this and it was our choice, we need just to be careful with our buyers or sellers.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc crime on: August 19, 2022, 10:35:47 PM
snipped...

If that is the case then fiat is still the option that the criminals, I mean there is no satisfaction for this kind of people by seeing tons of paper in front of them and feels very happy about it.

But laundering is another thing, and yes there are a lot of way to hide and wash everything. And unlike crypto, it will take a lot of effort, so this is not a good choice of criminals as it will just make things complicated for them. Just the usual, creating business up front or using heir existing already to hide the dirty money.
And they will find a way with all of their means just to succeed in their evil plan.
Money laundering is difficult to stop knowing that some corrupt government officials are already a part of this. But what does OP mean by blaming the crypto for this, I believe it was not right. This argument gives an idea to the people to also think evil things like this knowing that it was easy for them to hide from the authorities. Either fiat or crypto, these money launderers won't stop doing this as long as they are free and still have the chance.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: August 19, 2022, 11:29:42 AM
The odds speaks it all. This isn't really an exciting match. Although an upset is always a possibility in the sport of boxing, I cannot see how Conceicao would manage to defeat Shakur. Robson doesn't have the power to easily knockout Shakur. He doesn't have that strong haymaker that could suddenly turn the tide in his favor. Stevenson on the other hand is very much at his career's peak, very young and quick. And although he isn't a knockout artist either, he could easily outpoint Robson.
That's his skills, he moves quick and he is not a knockout artist so he will be able to conserve his energy well. He is more like a technical fighter, knows how and when to attack, so this one should be another walk in the park fight.  Smiley
1713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 19, 2022, 11:09:22 AM

Both are a title holders champ, so we can assume that both parties are going to seek for a rematch whoever losses

the fight, it might be included from the contract that they are negotiating now, we should talk about the trilogy after the rematch
as we can't assume what will be the outcome of this fight.

Moving forward, looking to see further updates in regard to the schedule if there's already a finalization of the fight.

It's important it's in the contract so no more negotiation of rematch after the fight. It would be more interesting if the first fight result is close like a split decision as that will create some hype since speculation will come out that judges are biased and fans would want to see the rematch.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 18, 2022, 11:40:18 AM
About Bronny.
Quote
“He hasn’t taken one visit yet and has only had a few calls with coaches and universities,” LeBron wrote on Tuesday night. “When Bronny makes his choice, you’ll hear it from him.”
https://sports.yahoo.com/lebron-james-shuts-down-rumors-linking-bronny-james-to-oregon-013103677.html
Take your time Bronny, you'll get there.

He has to accept the reality that he is not as great as his father, but maybe one day he will be in the NBA but I don't expect him to perform like a superstar. His father is sure very supportive to him, so this guy hopefully will not feel the pressure.

He's to young ang there's a lot of rooms to improve. If he can't replicate what he's father's achievement but at least he can reach to NBA and be a star this is huge achievement already. We see to many child of NBA stars didn't make a noise on NBA scene so if Bronny can at least climb up to his best level I think Lebron will still be so proud to his child. But to be honest its so early to speculate this things because for sure we can see some improvements to happen in future.

Let's be optimistic with that, he already has the connection since his father is still active and I'm sure that would help him if he will improve a bit. Maybe next year he will be drafted, who knows, but for now, he has to continue playing and try to achieve best improvement.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 18, 2022, 10:58:26 AM
Chot already won a championship when he comes back coaching in the PBA, but this time it's different as we have a healthy JMF.

Indeed, this would not be an easy one as we've seen in their last meeting where SMB was able to limit Mikey Williams and beat them with a huge margin, if they can do that again, well, I would say that SMB has a better chance of winning and JMF might win a BPC and Finals MVP.
1716  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bull run 'getting interesting' as BTC price hits 6-week high on: August 15, 2022, 02:12:57 PM
Instead of having the risk of losing big money, it is better to do nothing at this time, especially if we do not have sufficient ability to analyze market movements. Maybe you could try using a small fortune to see how far the market is moving so you can devise a plan for what to do. But if that small amount of money still doesn't convince you, it's better to get out of the market to minimize the risk of losing. With bitcoin's current state, where the price could return to $24k, that's a sign that bitcoin could move up, but it's not a guarantee that it can actually go up again. So stay cautious and don't act if you don't have a solid analysis.
Well, I hope those people will listen to you and have them save. But I guess what, people like them will think that investing in Bitcoin is like gambling and the pertain of having luck even without doing an analysis believing that Bitcoin will grow all the time. Unfortunately, that was not the real thing to happen around as dumps can be somewhere and it comes without telling anyone.

I certainly agree with you, better play it safe if we don't have the capacity to understand the market behavior and never make ourselves stressed.
1717  Economy / Speculation / Re: do u think the BTC bottom is in...? on: August 15, 2022, 01:06:32 PM
Although this month the crypto market seems to be in the green, it's hard to say a Bull Run will happen anytime soon. If we look at the current market conditions, there are no signs that a bull run will occur because the bitcoin price is only in the $23k-$24k area and it is still difficult to break above $27k.

I think $27k is not looking to come anytime soon but probably around the end of the when volatility for the December festivities will approach but for now, we could be seeing this kind of shaky movement around the $23k and $24k without a strong pull of volatility. I will say the uncertain times is up for bitcoin where we all can speculate because no direction is established yet.
Well, it is still left uncertain. The market seems moving high this time but this might be changed in the last quarter of this year. I couldn't assume but I believe that the market will keep this bearing situation until the end of this year. No big rallies will come out nor hypes to popup. But yes, we can't anticipate how these whales acted in this current condition. Or we fall into their trap set up by whales through some sort of price pumps and social media participation.
1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be open to any possibility on: August 15, 2022, 12:40:00 PM
Many of us do have a story like that. The regrets. Bitcoin made a lot of investors regret their panic sales and so do Ethereum.
The important part is how far are you willing to HODL one coin or project that you believe in?
Sometimes we are dragged by false news, FUD, and people near us that would say bad stuff about our investments so it makes us panic and sell out.
If it's not being open to new possibilities then we could also rely on the old ones. BNB, Ethereum, and other trusted coins can still make us some profit but we just don't know when. If it comes be sure to be awake.
Well, everyone is mostly affected by the sudden change in the market. Though we know the ups and downs are inevitable and clearly unpredictable but sometimes we believe in luck. We are still got influenced by the environment and as well as these social media.
However, we are able to learn from these things, we become strong, grow old, acted smart, and make decisions wisely. And this is the reason why we are still here making fun with the market despite the past experience.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 15, 2022, 12:27:06 PM
Yup, i have this feeling that he would avenge his loss but just be careful not to put much money on him because we never know the outcome. It's a good thing though that he would be the underdog now because even if we put a small amount, it will win a bit bigger unlike if he is the favorite.
I'm betting on him here, underdog or not, it doesn't matter, what's important is to win and go for a trilogy.

I'm hoping as well, who wouldn't want a trilogy? of course, that will make the fight more interesting, and I'm pretty sure that the promoters are already expecting a big profit on that as the fight are hyped up due to the result of the rematch. If that will happen, I guess Anacajas will gain full confidence and I wouldn't be surprise that he will be the betting favorite.
1720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 15, 2022, 12:01:15 PM

I guess SMB will have to adjust their game, they can't just let Meralco takes over just like in game 6. Again, defense will be their key and I think they have the experience to do it, they just have to focus and concentrate on game 7. They can't let the Bolts snatch this series.

If the trend will continue, SMB is going to win in game 7. They wasted the opportunity to close the series in game 6, the big run of Meralco beat them, it cannot happen again in this do or die game for both teams.

That's where the excitement on PBA games is happening, who would expect that Meralco would win, they are a heavy underdog and yet they beat the SMB. I still like the chances of SMB in game 7, they are good in closing out games, but what I like more is the under as for sure it's gonna be a very defensive game.
