2561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best time to fill the bag? on: March 20, 2020, 10:30:18 PM
Today is the happy moment for those who fill their bags when bitcoin was dump so hard.
It was just too easy for bitcoin to rise and now already trading at $6000 after it was dump many times to $4000 level.

This is the proof that bitcoin is not a weak asset, it's volatile but whenever it dump, it usually bounces back hard too.

And they are happily selling top take profit. You can see that those who loaded their bags for a short term gain have already unloaded and we went down by 1000 dollars.

It's all to be expected. Hopefully the halving will bring us back to 10 thousand. We would have been there already if not for this recent stock market crash.
2562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty group is dead on: March 20, 2020, 09:43:08 PM
There's still a lot of bounties and airdrops taking place. They are less frequent because the whole market took a hit and people took some time off.

You also have to take into account that many people are quaranteened or working from home. In the EU many companies have requested their employees to work from home. All customer service is done online or by phone. Most offices and courts don't work. People are taking some time off and crypto is not going to behave much different.
2563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme Bitcoin vs Coronavirus on: March 20, 2020, 09:28:36 PM
Don't be afraid of corona, just build your immune system then you have 99% of getting recovered even after the virus attack.
Actually those who are afraid of Corona are not the people, but the country.

LOL

Are you mad?

There's no such thing as a country without people. The country does not panic, the people do and if enough of them happen to panic it becomes country-wide.

I cannot balame them for panicking. If you are 60 or 70 years old you'll have a hard time recovering. Probably 30% chance of dying so it's bad for the old and the sickly.

2564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC + Corona on: March 20, 2020, 09:16:47 PM
I have a case of Corona.

Corona fear is increasing day by day

I hope not. Planning to get drunk this weekend Smiley
2565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Central Bank Admits It Can’t Ban Bitcoin on: March 20, 2020, 09:14:12 PM
No one can ban bitcoin 100%. It's just not possible. Yes, the number of traders in a particular country will decrease, but no more.

They can't monitor all their movements when it comes to crypto.
Thus, how they can ban if they don't have the full control?

They can ban financial institutions from using it so you won't be able to legally accept it as a business owner and you won't get a credit for or register a company that has something to do with crypto.

Does it really matter? Were there even any big and reputable exchanges in Russia? All I read about were mining farms and this will not be banned. They can still mine and exchange for other fiat currencies than the ruble.
2566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Doomed ? on: March 16, 2020, 09:38:26 PM
1 year ago it was 3500$ I wouldn't call that doomed, but a good investement.

It's still holding value pretty good. If we cut the bubbles and panics from the charts and just focus on the average price per year it's still going up. Most of the 2018 it stayerd around 6000, in 2019 it was roughly the same. This year for the last 3 months it was around 7000 on the average.

I'm waiting to see if it breaks below the 2019 low. If it does the projections will be really bad.
2567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Banned Crypto Trading on: March 16, 2020, 09:26:25 PM
They don't know what they want. I remember reading that they were baninmg crypto to isue their own cryptocurrency. This was years ago. Then they changed their mind and said blockchain is great. Then they did not issue any centralized crypto and just postponed everything. Then we heard about them trying to legalize it. Now we hear about them trying to ban it again? Ho many times can you change your mind about the same thing?

Don't FUD, wait until it's written in stone.
2568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the market stand this trial on: March 15, 2020, 10:58:36 PM
Sure, the crypto market has seen worst of days since its inception and that is the more reason why most crypto enthusiasts who have been in this industry are not panicking at this stage. Whales are taking much profits right now as they buy cheap from panic sellers.

It actually has not seen worse because a 40% decline in one day is one of the worst if not the worst. Even when Bitcoin was falling down from 20 thousand it came back to 15 and then fell to 10 days later. This time it was like falling straight down.

Most of the drop took maybe 10 minutes which is strange. Like there was completely no liquidity. It looked like around 10 thousand Bitcoins took the price down on Bitstamp by 3000 dollars. Very unusual. I'd understand if it was 500 thousand but 10?

I held my coins but we can see how weak the market is thanks to exchanges that allow leveraged trading based on USDt. They're buyilding a house of cards that can disappear in a minute.
2569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you stop gambling in a time of crisis? on: March 15, 2020, 10:54:25 PM
No I don't.

If we're talking about crisis in general it's no because I want to relax and not think about finances for a while. I hamble for the same reason I play computer games or watch movies.

If we're talking about coronavirus I don't care much for it. I'm young and healthy and I plan to stay at home for now so no viruses for me Smiley
2570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] COVID-19 Hits Ethereum Community Conference, Six People Test Positive on: March 15, 2020, 10:47:48 PM
Most conferences were postponed. In my area all schools, cinemas, shoping centers are closed. Borders are getting shut down in the way that only citizens can enter and all visitors and tourists are held back, unless they have families here. People who come from high risk areas like China or Korea are quarantined and they went on with the conference?

They must be desperate tu pump ETH or just stupid.
2571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Corona Virus was predicted but it will soon vanish on: March 15, 2020, 10:29:58 PM
Coronavirus is not a big deal. Elon Musk said that you're more likely to die in a car accident than from coronavirus because statistically that's what it comes down to.

A virus that kills 2% of the population and concentrates on those who are already sick or old, or both, is not going to destroy the world. People are panicking because the media make the situation look worse than it really is.
2572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I though Bitcoin was created for this moment? on: March 15, 2020, 10:09:51 PM
Read my older replies on this subject:

Some people just cannot hold in the situation we are living right now. A lot of people I know have invested all their savings in BTC a few months ago and today they're out of cash, but they need it to prepare for a potential pandemic. I have personally taken a few days off the forum and the internet itself, because I want to focus on preparing for a possibly really bad situation. Investors have a lot of reasons to sell right now. I fortunately do not rely on Bitcoin 100%, which means I can still live without selling a single satoshi even if the price dumps to $100.

I am now trying to get back into the habits I used to have a few weeks ago. The virus outbreak made me move and add some other stuff to the top of my list of priorities.

Don't worry, times will come when Bitcoin will grow back up. It's very understandable that a ton of people sell for various reasons.
~
Smart whales (and I guess they're smart since they're whales) have probably sold weeks ago. Now that the price has dumped, it became a logical thing to me that the price has to drop during a health crisis. People do not care anymore about their holdings during this time: it's time to prepare for survival, not to become rich.

The intelligent ones have sold long ago and are now purchasing at lower prices to lower their avg cost. The ones in need (or driven by panic) are selling now. Both kinds of people are leading to the same market move: a huge dump.

I agree both with your explanation and your attitude towards investing.

In a time of epidemic or any other real life problem people think about getting food and having cash because cash can be spent fast and is more reliable. Cryptocurrencies are a great store of value and a great investment but they are not made for a a time when the sky is faling.

What if you're moving out of town with your family, running out of fuel and there's one gas station nearby. You go there with your crypto wallet and they tell you that they have no Internet, the network is down and they only accept cash, no crypto and no cards. What now?

People will sell in a time like this but they will buy when things go back to normal.
2573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden is bullish, BTFD on: March 15, 2020, 09:54:38 PM
A lot of people bought the dip. The number of addresses holding more than 1 BTC reached a new ATH, although it's hard to tell how many individuals own those addresses.

The ponzi money got tedistributed. If there was some cash from those Chinese schemes left on the market it went from a single seller to hundreds of new holders. At least I hope some of them will become holders. Time will tell.

Don't forget that for every seller there's always a buyer. If you are scared and sell somebody who is waiting to buy and sees it as a chance to finally get cheaper coins will take your burden from you and pay for the privilege.
2574  Economy / Economics / Re: Coin prices down 25% to 30% this morning. on: March 14, 2020, 10:38:43 PM
Whenever you see such a huge drop in the market you can be sure that a lot of people were using a huge amount of leverage and they were surprised by the sudden movement of the market and were unable to get out of it before losing most or all of their capital,
Leveraged positions got rekt! Maybe they'll start playing with their own money instead of borrowing what they cannot afford, greedy bastards!

if you are truly looking for a bottom I think it is too soon, this crisis is probably going to continue for some time so if you are patient I think you could get bitcoin for a way cheaper price than what you can get it right now.

What would be the bottom then? We aren't going below the 2019 bottom that's for sure! BTC is already oversold by a lot and most hodlers didn't sell.
Also, mining profitability is at 5-6 thousand.
2575  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people have been panic selling? I didn't. on: March 14, 2020, 10:22:25 PM
I didn't sell because:

  • I slept through most of the decline and then it was already over
  • I don't keep my coins on exchanges. Even if I saw the decline and wanted to sell it would take 20 min for me to move my coins. The crash was mostly over in 15
  • I got my coins for much less than it's trading now so I don't feel any pressure to sell
  • I'm not a person who panics. I try to look at fundamentals first. There was no news regarding Bitcoin, no hack, no ban, no flaw in the code. This means the sell off was a manipulation, a whale dump, or both. It was too fast for it to be a normal sell off. Only bots work that fast.
2576  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID-19: Do not worry the market worry on people. on: March 14, 2020, 10:09:51 PM
Darn shit, I wouldnt imagine that I billion people died. If it could stay below 100k casualty than that would be massive win for humanity. There will be alot more shit that would happen if 1 billion people actually died.

1 billion people is like 1/8 of the whole world population. If you watch the avenger movie, half population got wiped and you could see the how the world turn into some kind of shit

It's already a loss for mankind.

One nation was developping a bioweapon that got released somehow and is now threatening the whole world yet the world isn't even trying to come to the bottom of this and make the people responsible for this disaster pay. They're acting like it came from space.

The panic is not even adequate to the danger the virus presents. With 2% mortality rate it's not going to do much more than a normal flu. If you're afraid just stay at home. You can't get it from air, you have to come in contact with a sick person or something that person touched not long ago.
2577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: we are so close to HALVING !!!are these dumps CONNECT to halving time??? on: March 14, 2020, 09:50:24 PM
as u know we having next halving in 3 month. but as u know price get down to 7k  and break so many resistance support lines. the question is how much bitcoin will go down before halving ?! and what will be the price for resistance support before price go up?!and also what is the reason of these dumps?!

These support lines are just lines drawn by people who think they can make sense of this unpredictable chaos.

Draw a line in the sad and sit on the beach beside it. After a while some kid is going to run over it. Lines in the sand don't mean anything just as support lines drawn by analysts. They spend hours explaining the next Bitcoin move and then WHO announces a pandemic and all lines get ignored Wink
2578  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is everyone expecting continuous growth? on: March 14, 2020, 09:43:40 PM
The ups and downs come from the way human mind works. Sometimes you are euphoric and other times you want to kill yourself. If a lot of people have a similar mindset they can move the market up or down.

Have you ever felt like you can do anything. You want to start a new project or relationship and feel like you're starting your life all over again. This feeling is going to inevitably come to the market once again, so stay calm and keep holding!
2579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Coronavirus affects Bitcoin and when it will end on: March 14, 2020, 09:29:36 PM
since the outbreak of the virus bitcoin value has reduced drastically.
Im a little suprised tho, its better and easier to store than gold.
You can't buy toilet paper with it easily enough probably, that is reason of current bitcoin crash... toilet paper.

Semi-joke aside, people need food stockpile for bad times, toilet paper most of all and that need cash, not Bitcoin.

It is but gold markets are much more stable and trusted than Bitcoin markets.

People might think twice if you asked them if they trust more in physical gold or Bitcoin but if you asked them if they trust gold or Conbase, Binance and Bitfinex most would choose gold. That's what people are choosing now. They aren't selling their Bitcoin holdings but running from leverage trades and centralized exchanges that can go bankrupt and disappear with their money.

Exchanges are more affected by the situation than Bitcoin itself!
2580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stock Market took a huge dive, Cryptocurrency follows on: March 13, 2020, 11:47:54 PM
The reason why the stock market and the crypto market is falling because of the well known Covid-19 pandemic situation.
It's not because of any under performing asset or something. People are treating it as an investment and just because the situation is getting worse day by day, people are taking out all their investments whether it be stocks or crypto. Atleast, that's what I think is going on in the current market.

It's not crashing because of the virus. The virus has infected only a few percent of the world population and is expected to kill less than 2% of the infected.

Every year more people die from smoking cigarettes that this coronavirus will kill.

The markets are crashing because people fear the unexpected. They feer quarantine and border shutdown. They fear their workplaces and stores closing. They want to have money at hand for sudden expenses.
