25601  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: January 28, 2017, 01:30:23 AM
I thought about it and didnt get a clear answer.
I think it's "every" mans right to own a gun. With "" I mean you should have some control over it, strictly monitor people owning it, so no criminal or mentally ill person can get it easily. You should be able to defend yourself, either from other people, animals if you live in wilderness, or even government if it comes to that. On the other hand guns make killing too easy, its easier to shoot someone from distance then lets say stab him. Its proven that with gun you dont have that same feeling, for knife you need more balls, anger or craziness.

I believe a test must be made

Banish guns in one of the states, and compare the results with other states

If the banishment gives positive results, apply nationwide

If not, abort mission

They did the opposite in a small city in Georgia, I believe it was. And the results were that crime all but disappeared.

Here's the way western Christians see Jesus or Iesous.

https://sdanotes.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/jesus-pic.jpg

Considering where he was born, this is what he really looked like.

http://www.shunya.net/Pictures/Syria/palmyra/BedouinMan.jpg

Check the Bible for the description of O.T. King David. He was ruddy in appearance, probably a redhead or blonde.

Jesus was a physical descendant of David's. We don't know that today's M.E. people are exemplary of people 2,000 years ago.

Cool

A redhead or a blonde in Israel?

What the fuck

Are you serious?  Cheesy

I gave you the reasoning. Bible history shows that this may easily have been so.

Pray to your Jewish Space-Zombie, and maybe I will.

But do consider this one thing. Nobody knows what will happen to him in 10 years from now. So, please think carefully about the Jewish Space-Zombie.

If the Jewish Space-Zombie is really very powerful, and is only sitting back and watching people to find out which ones want to be His buddies, what He might do to you in 10 years from now is something to consider.

After all, what strength do any of us really have? Oh sure. We can do all kinds of things. But there are multitudes of things that we'd like to do, but simply can't.

There are all kinds of people waiting for an organ transplant. If they don't get theirs, they die. Your Jewish Space-Zombie just might be the one Who is pulling the strings behind the scenes to determine who gets the transplant, and who doesn't... and who needs one in the first place.

Until you know for sure about the Jewish Space-Zombie, walk softly.

Cool

EDIT: I would have answered nomad like this, but he doesn't have enough sense to consider it seriously. He'll read it, of course. And he will make some perverted remark. But you have sense that he doesn't have. So, consider.

That'd be very great, but why someone want to spend such an amount to visit the moon.
There are so many beautiful and fascinating places you can visit here.

Why? Because everybody will want to go the first time, just to see what it is like up there.

At $10,000 a pop, and with 7 billion people in the world, that's $70,000,000,000,000 they will make on the first trip. Then there will always be some who will want to go back. I hope their advertising is good. I might even want to go.

No, the thing that is more evil than the devil is a creature that bites the hand of its Creator while being fed by Him.

Of course I forgot, if you accepted the truth, then you'd be forced to admit your guilt of worshipping evil.  It's in your best interests to disagree with me. Cool

If I happen to worship evil a little, the sacrifice of Jesus has covered me so that my guilt is taken away as though it had not been. Why? Because I accept and believe in the sacrifice of Jesus for me. But your guilt and sin remain with you. Why? Because you won't even accept the existence of God, to say nothing about the sacrifice of Jesus, His Son. You are in deep dodo, buddy. Change while you still have time.

Just so you all know.....

This is NOT proof.

This is the writings of someone who believes it is proof.

Much the same as those who believe the Earth is Flat.

The stuff in the links are not proof all by themselves. Rather, they are backed up by the science law that is expressed in them.

A major part of the reason why scientists are seeking all kinds of things, is to see if they can find some way to disprove the science laws expressed by the proofs. They do this because they don't want God to exist. They don't want to see the truth about God.

Can't change the facts. God can't be destroyed. Try too hard, and you will only succeed in destroying yourself.

Cool

The God concept was created by people.  That is why God concept changes from culture to culture.

Even the same God, say Christian God, went through years of transformation.

God exists in your mind, nowhere else.  You might "feel" he exists elsewhere, but the reality is:  there is no God.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5ZLuRYp8gk

Quite the opposite. The fact that God is recognized by peoples from around the world shows that God exists. The fact that atheists say, often adamantly, that God doesn't exist, when they don't know that He doesn't exist, shows that they are setting themselves up as gods (by making a strong claim they don't know is true), at the same time they are denouncing His existence. They are essentially denouncing their own existence.

I think you faulted in some passages of the Bible that you made reference to as you only picked a verse and not what was was going on at that point in time when the verse was related to.

Any comment is welcome.

However, I don't think you mean that when Yahweh ordered (read a priest said god ordered something in order to justify horrible acts from the ancient Hebrews) the extermination of women and children (Joshua 6:21; Judges 21:10; Numbers 31:7-18), killing of babies (Isaiah 13:16) or massive rape (Numbers 31:18; Deuteronomy 20:10-14) these acts could be justified by the context...

No one dares to try to argue that today in a moral debate.

Why not. The executed were enemies of God, of good, and of God's people, Israel... even the babies were.

Besides, even if you don't understand, God owns everything. It is His right to do whatever He wants.

Cool

Our brave soldier of god keeps promoting atheism.

Sentences like the bold one are the reason why religion is dangerous.

In the end, the danger isn't god, he is just another human creation. The danger are what believers can do. Not even babies are safe.

Dangerous? No. It's the other way around. For example.

A tornado is coming. The tornado is dangerous. God is trying to show you a way out of the tornado of death. But if you don't find out that God exists, it will be impossible to find His salvation.

The Old Testament in Hebrew has been copied, and re-copied, over and over, many times for the many years. The Dead Sea Scrolls show that the book of Isaiah in the O.T. was almost exactly the same as it is today. This is because at the time the printing press was developed, it had not changed in about 2,000 years. Two points about this:
1. It is a miracle that this could have been done;
2. The rest of the O.T. was done the same way.

Further. The nation of Israel is still around and powerful, after it was destroyed many times. Why? Two reasons:
1. The O.T. is so powerful that Israel is still strong in it;
2. the people of Israel are dedicated, which means that they wouldn't have written what they have written as they have if it were a lie.

Further. We are finding N.T. scraps from the first century A.D. that show the New Testament to be the same as well.

This doesn't happen by accident, with a very powerful nation (the USA) being possibly the greatest "pusher" of the Bible. It isn't a natural thing that this happens like this.

Cool

If you had just happen to be born in a Islamic environment, chances are you would on here now telling us all the great "proof" Islam is the one true religion.
If you had just happen to be born in a Catholic environment, chances are you would on here now telling us all the great "proof" Catholicism is the one true religion.
If you had just happen to be born in a Jewish environment, chances are you would on here now telling us all the great "proof" Judaism is the one true religion.

Once you understand this, the penny drops why your "proof" is nothing but empty hot air.
Meaningless drivel.

And since you have adopted the atheism religion for yourself, let's go back to the proof, and see who has the known-to-be-factual science law on his side, and who has the not-known-to-be-factual science theory on his side.

Science is not a religion. In classical belief systems, you accept without question. But science is based on experimentation and observation. Scientists are questioning. Scientific theories develop over time. But belief systems are not changed.

Science != Religion

I agree with you on part of science. Science is facts and hard evidance, so in sciend there is eithar truth or false answer. But religion is not blind belief, for some people that is. There are those who choose to be blind. But there is also questioning in religion, there is diferent understanding of same sentence. Religion is not something that you need to believe blindly, well that is what I think.

Sounds like belief in science theory. Science theory is something that is not known to be factual. Yet there is usually some fact behind it or within it somewhere. When someone believes that the theory is fact, in the face of not knowing it to be fact, and especially if he is adamant in expressing his "faith," he has a religion going for himself.

Last time I checked USA was still priding themselves as being the main country spreading democracy and freedom around the world.

They are spreading democracy by bombing the hospitals and overthrowing the democratically elected governments? I really doubt whether that is going to work. But then, the topic is about the UN membership of the United States. Why should they contribute so much money to the organization and its splinter wings, if they get nothing in return?
That's the basic idea of solidarity...
You give more when you have more...
And the idea is that when you will be in need others will do the same.

It is not about solidarity. It is about the merit. If you give the same voting right to the United States (population of 330 million, GDP of $20 trillion) and Nauru (Population of 10,000 and GDP of <$1 million), then naturally the question will arise why you are not giving voting rights to states such as California (population of 39 million, GDP of $2.5 trillion).

It's not about "giving ... rights." You don't give rights. Rights are inherent.

This is the thing that people simply won't accept or understand. People have all the rights. They have any rights. They have the right to freely associate. But they can barely use their rights if they don't get their heads screwed on, and realize that they have them.

State sponsored ballot initiatives are simply methods to determine if people are going to use their rights in whatever initiative is on the ballot. http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/News/211566-2017-01-27-calexit-state-approves-california-nation-to-collect-signatures.htm

The people don't need the State to do this. They don't have to wait for other people. In fact, using the ballot actually undermines one of the basic rights in America... the right to private property.

As long as you are simply living, if someone else messes with your living conditions, and you haven't obstructed the rights of someone else, he is messing with your property. You have always had the right to protect your private property... a right that people have had since the beginning of time. If you don't stand up and use the jury regarding your rights, but rather wait for a State ballot, you are handing your rights over tho the leaders of the State.

We don't live any more in jungle, as our ancestors.
We are living in regulated society, protected by the police and army, have health care and other social services etc.
It's impossible to have so well organized society and state without government.
Even first human civilizations, 5000-6000 years ago, had government, army and basic social services.

If a person lives in society he is in any case subject to violence from the state. The subordination of the minority to the majority is also violence. And if the opposite? Now we see an example of this in America.

America is an example of people not knowing their rights and their strength over their Government. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1135598.msg17611974#msg17611974.

No, science is not a religion.

A religion is something that people create to believe in someone and to lean against something in difficult times.

Science is something that some very smart people try to explain (according to their best knowledge and certain) how the world was created.

Absolutely right! Science is not religion. But when people start to believe science non-facts to be factual, especially when they KNOW that the non-facts are not factual, and especially when they become adamant ijn expression that the non-facts are factual, they have formed a science religion for themselves.

There's lots of flat earth people still talking as well.

As they say; talk is cheap.

The reason why your talk is cheap is, you can't rebut the proof and evidence that God exists. All you can do is say that God doesn't exist, or that you have rebutted, when you really haven't.

Come on! Express the rebuttal itself if you have one. Rebut the info here:

Just talking to an informant on the Democrat side.  Unsurprisingly, this person heard that throwing political opposites in jail is a 'third world thing.'  I heard the (shell-shocked looking) Andrea Mitchel say this right after the debate so I knew it was going to be a talking point that would get play.  Here would be my rebuttal:

You know what else goes on in third-world banana republics?  Politically powerful people get away with anything and everything since they are above the law.  That's what!

What happens to people, that try to overthrow a democratic country?
Would you support it or fight tooth and nail against it.

There is a more basic question than this. This question is, Who are the people who are trying to overthrow the U.S.?

Part of the answer lies in what a smart person would do to try to overthrow the U.S.  Would he get together with his neighbors and get some guns and ammo and grenades and attack the capitol? Would he enlist the help of a foreign country that doesn't like the U.S.? Would he do a big propaganda campaign worse than the one Tokyo Rose did? What is the smart way?

These days a direct coup won't work. Foreign countries don't have the strength to attack. Tokyo Rose was imprisoned (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Rose). So, what is a smarter way? One smarter way is to build up a reputation, act like you are doing good politically, become the President, and institute good-looking programs that really tear the country apart. Isn't that what Obama was doing and Hillary would have done?

But there is a deeper, more fundamental method in America. Hidden inside the Constitution, the Bill of rights, and Federal Rules of Criminal/Civil Procedure, is a method that shows what America is all about, and that remains almost hidden because people don't think. But, if this method can be destroyed before the people wake up and use it, then America might be lost.

The whole U.S. Government is overshadowed by this hidden strength that the people have. The people can, individually or en masse, take down every action that the Government does. The people being able to do this is part of the Government itself. Here are the important parts of the hidden strength of the people... how the people are above Government, making them the real Government.

First is the right to contract, recorded in Article I, section 10, clause 1 of the Constitution (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract_Clause). Right to contract individually is applied to people through the 14th Amendment (http://www.law.gmu.edu/assets/files/publications/working_papers/08-51%20Freedom%20of%20Contract.pdf). What this means is that people as well as the States can contract in or out of Government, and even in or out of their contracts with Government. It is part of Government, and essentially somewhat of a circular logic that shows that Government is way different than what we generally believe it to be.

What makes this contracting infinitely stronger is the 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th Amendments. The 6th and 7th Amendments suggest that people can require a jury trial for anything. This includes even things that they have against Government... not only things that Government has against them.

The 9th and 10th Amendments state that both, the people, individually or jointly, and the States, have all the rights that they had before the United States Government was set in place. This includes the right to not be held liable for any laws or statutes that the United States puts in place.

Using the rights expressed by these Amendments includes speaking up (noticing) Government whenever you don't want to be part of any agreement, law, or statute. If you don't speak up, you are agreeing by your silence to all of the laws and statutes. It is part of Government.

One of the most important things regarding contracts and Government and trials is, If you sign a standard contract for an attorney to represent you, you have agreed to let the attorneys and the judges decide your fate, without you being able to intervene. The only way you can intervene is by rescinding the contract, thereby rejecting this contract if you want, but it might be easier to not contract in the first place.

The jury has the right to judge everything about your case, whether you bring the case, or someone else brings it against you. They have the right to judge you innocent, even if you are guilty, and vice versa. They can impose fines, hold judges in contempt, and do all kinds of things in regard to the case at hand, including repealing a law or statute with regard to you (even though other people will have to bring their own case to get it repealed for themselves). See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jury_nullification for a beginning understanding of the power of the jury.

What all this amounts to is that, as long as you don't injure someone else (harm him, or damage his property), as long as you don't break a contract (you can rescind the contract according to rules regarding contracts - a basic understanding is here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rescission - but don't injure anyone by your rescission), as long as you don't threaten anyone else (note that some threats can be accidental or without your knowledge... that you have threatened someone else), you can do anything you want.

Anyone who attempts to hide this information from you, or who attempts to thwart your using of this info and your rights, is someone who is attempting to overthrow Government. Why? Because it is Government for you to know and use these things. The whole court system in America has been infiltrated by BAR Association members who are trying to hide this knowledge from you, and take away your freedom thereby. They are trying to overthrow the American Government with an extremely subtle coup from the inside.
