2581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 25, 2014, 09:40:33 PM
Im getting a way worse hashrate with this new version than what i was before with the previous version, my GTX275 was giving me around 45 KH/s and now i can only get 15 KH out of it. ive tried launch config L80x1 and F30x3, and neither of them make much difference.
Is there anything else i need to change wit the new version, auto tuning is no better.

Please provide information about the old and new release (release dates), as well as previous and current FULL launch configs, operating system this is on, and last please provide information as to what coin you are mining. This should get enough info on the table to have peeps help you out Smiley
I cant remember what version i was using because i overwrote it with this version, i downloaded it about a month ago, which would have been the latest version at the time..
I didnt even use any launch configs with that version and i got 45 KH/s
Im thinking of going back to it if i can find a link to the earlier versions.
I only downloaded this version to mine vertcoin, which is really no point with such a low powered card anyway, the hashrates im referring to are for any scrypt based coin such as dogecoin and flappycoin etc.

2583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [FLAP] Flappycoin! on: February 25, 2014, 08:05:29 PM
At current difficulty of Flappy......

1MH/s per day makes around 125,000 Flappy

1MH/s per day earns me around 0.013 BTC

So.... to give you a 25%+ Discount, I'll sell:
125,000 Flappy = 0.01 BTC

Actually thats wrong and not what the mining calculator says, which is over 500K a day at 1.5 MH.
Ive been mining for almost 48 hours and have over 500K now, so these figures are correct, i would have even more by taking pool fees out.

Anyway how much doge would 100K of flap get you? Im thinking of trading mine for doge.
2584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to solo mine flappycoins? on: February 25, 2014, 08:49:28 AM
OK, ill check that out, i thought most p2pool servers had high fees, perhaps not.
My pool has a 2% fee, im thinking of changing.

I have never been able to set up p2pool, no one actually gives the basic info on how to set it up. Plus apparently P2Pool requires you to install the stupid Wallet for every coin you want to mine which is 1. retarded 2. increases your chances of getting a Trojan from a scam coin by X folds. I just use my exchange pool address.

Switch to flap.hash.so I am mining there and like it a lot. The only pool that lets you switch the coin you are mining on the fly without going to your RIG, you can switch from any web browser like directly from your phone.

OK ill look at that, doesnt coinium.org allow mining on the fly also?

2586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is it better to solo mine flappycoins? on: February 25, 2014, 12:14:20 AM
Ive been mining in a pool at 730KH and have earned 250K in flappy coins over the last 24 hours, however i notice i had found 2 blocks, so i guess its still fairly easy to solo mine ATM.
I take it if i had solo mined the last 24 hours, that i could have scored 2 blocks, giving me far more return, rather than spreading it across the pool?
Any ideas?
Thanks
2587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AURORA COIN an undervalued coin with great opportunity ! on: February 22, 2014, 11:15:39 AM
The whole story on this coin is that it was created by the government to help give their citizens more choices than storing money with traditional banks or investment firms, and this should improve the market through real competition instead of all the banks just shaking eachother's hands all day. So, is this currency really developed by their government? Well, I bought a few hundred anyway and they seem to be doing well since then, so whatever I hope they and all of us on here do well with the coin.
Really?
From what i read it has no connection to their government?
2588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the big deal with Quarkcoin ATM? on: February 22, 2014, 05:58:31 AM
This is one reason why NXT coin is of interest to me, however its not very user friendly, i still dont know how you access your wallet on other computers for example, and i would have preferred it if the coins were more fairly distributed, rather than those who already had funds to buy into the genesis block, which makes me wonder of the developers did it to make a quick profit.
I might trade some doge for quark perhaps, its just annoying to see so many altcoins popping up that have no real advantage over another, there are so many out there and i dont know what ones will succeed, i cant really see enough room for more than 6 cryptocurrencies max, ideally would be to have one dominant worldwide currency that can be used without regulation or restriction from the world banks.
Dogecoin may very well succeed for online shopping etc, but will a meme based currency gain adoption to the mass market, who knows?

I dont think dogecoin can be underestimated, but for something to be more successful than bitcoin or litecoin, we really need to see serious development and a fresh start i feel. NXT coin is the only coin ive found that has rewritten everything from scratch, but im sure there are others. Vertcoin has alot to offer too, but again does not offer much advantage in speed, and in A POS environment, speed is everything, and confirmation times have to be virtually instant.

Im new to mining cryptocurrencies and only have 1.5MH available with script, so i want to make the right moves before its too late.
And it seems everyone has their own opinion on what coin to choose! I feel spreading the risk is probably the best thing thats for sure.
2589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AURORA COIN an undervalued coin with great opportunity ! on: February 21, 2014, 10:09:04 AM
I may look at mining this, but the difficulty must be pretty high if its 50% premined.
What is the block reward etc, i cant find any mining calculators for this coin yet.
2590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Auroracoin may be the most exciting altcoin of 2014 on: February 21, 2014, 09:33:03 AM
Zimbabwe is another place where something like this could work, their economy has gone down hill big time over the last decade, time to replace those 1 trillion dollar notes with a cryptocurrency!
2591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Whats the big deal with Quarkcoin ATM? on: February 21, 2014, 08:21:51 AM
Or am i missing something?
There seems to be alot of talk that this will be the next "big" coin.
But if its because of its speed, that comes as a surprise to me, since there are many other coins that are just as fast if not faster.
Fast coin is supposed to be 15 seconds and with digibyte, its practically instant, which is really what we need with POS, since we can complete a transaction as fast as EFTPOS.
2592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinye: why are people mining with impending cease & desist lawsuit? on: February 15, 2014, 11:47:03 PM
I want to mine this coin just to pi$$ him off! Grin
2593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DIGIBYTE has a very fast transaction on: February 15, 2014, 11:32:43 PM
I cant believe the amount of people rubbishing digibyte here!
Crikey, this is the fastest coin out there, its virtually instant, its actually faster than an EFTPOS transaction, which means that this coin will have a good usage in shops etc, 30 seconds is far too slow, and thats the speed of quarkcoin.
Not to mention that the developers have taken a very professional approach to the design and development of the coin, its not just a simple re badged litecoin clone.
Ive tested the speed of digibyte by sending coins to my friends and we have watched it while talking over the phone and i said when i sent it, and next thing he had got it.
I feel this currency will have the edge over any other cryptocurrency, so ive stopped mining doge for now.

I should also note that quarkcoin is not the fastest coin out there, and fastcoin is still around 12-15 seconds.
2594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Worth buying or mining Dogecoins? on: January 20, 2014, 07:43:12 PM
Its doubled overnight, ive bought 50K of them.
Ill wait for the price of them to dip, looking at the graphs, its been higher before.
2595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinye West - Don't f**k with this coin on: January 20, 2014, 10:11:40 AM
man, just reading this thread wants me to delibratley mine coinye just to piss him off! Grin
2596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Worth buying or mining Dogecoins? on: January 20, 2014, 09:59:49 AM
I see a multitude of dogecoins selling left, right and centre on ebay.
How much is too much?
It looks like they are selling them far higher than what they are worth, i thought  the going rate is 1100 dogecoins to $1USD, but some listings are 10x higher than that.
Im just concerned im not going to have my mining rig up in time to make the most of it before the difficulty becomes much harder as it already is starting to.

I dont know if ill ever become a millionare with dogecoin or not, but their price is increasing rapidly ATM...
I dont think its a stupid thing to hold tight on a million of them, because litecoins were only  0.07USD 12 months ago
2597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Getting low return mining dogecoin, please help.... on: January 16, 2014, 11:51:13 PM
its quite interesting, i started mining again today and in less than an hour i got more than double for the whole day yesterday, that gives me more confidence when my rig gets going.
2598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Getting low return mining dogecoin, please help.... on: January 16, 2014, 09:39:13 PM
OK thats what i was wondering.
Im hoping to have this rig going 24/7 and use my computer along side it when im not needing it.

Would i get a more constant rate with a PPS pool?
It appears that with PPLNS, you can get up to 5% more return if you stay with them long enough.

I was going to look at mining litecoin, but is probably a waste of time now unless i get an ASIC when they become available.
I dont think its worth it if i only get 1-2 litecoins a week.
2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Getting low return mining dogecoin, please help.... on: January 16, 2014, 09:12:14 PM
Are the return rates correct on this website?
http://dustcoin.com/mining

Im am yet to get my mining rig up and running (waiting for my GPU)
But thought i would try it out on my existing system, im currently getting around 77 KH/s on my Core2 quad and Nvidis GTX275 combined using cpuminer and cudaminer.

According to these stats, i should be getting around 60 coins an hour, but in about 24 hours i only got about 9 dogecoins.

Is this typical for a PPLNS pool, ie, do i have to wait a few days to get up to that hash rate, or are these stats wrong?

thanks heaps!
I just hope that my ATI rig will get me the 539 coins an hour im expecting.

TIA,
