261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holders will betray bitcoin one day on: July 17, 2018, 03:26:27 PM
That is not betrayal! That is calles investments! If Bitcoin will lose its value in the future, isn't it only natural to dump it? Why will you hold on something that has no value? Nothing lasts forever. We should learn to accept that there are things we need to forget once it losses its value. For now, I don't see that Bitcoin's value will diminish. We are too far from it.

Also, it should be called profit gaining. We can’t expect holders to hold bitcoins forever. They hold it to gain profit and the only way for that to happen is to sell it one day. They may even sell it even before the value goes down. Holders would probably dump their coins once the price has reached a certain amount which they are satisfied with and will give them a return of investment. It’s not betrayal and a man has got to eat.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling in the crypto market on: July 17, 2018, 02:19:54 PM
I think the crypto market now seems to be more suitable for gambling than for normal life, as it seems to solve a lot of things like fast, convenient, anonymous and easy to dodge. the law.
Are you saying yes and no? Grin Grin

I don't think you can dodge the law but I agree to what you have said in the other and I also prefer gambling with crypto. I only gamble with my dust balance in my trading histories. I don't want to get the same feeling of losing BTC.02 so quickly because of the desperation of making huge money.

I don’t think that gambling with crypto would mean that it would be easy for you to dodge the law. Perhaps for now, there aren’t that much laws or restrictions for gambling with crypto but it’s not immortal from laws. Once a ban is made, then gamblers will be in trouble. Anyway, I don’t see how it poses as a solution but it has definitely provided better options for regular gamblers.
263  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [13-07-2018] Scammers to Leak Users Masturbation Vids Demands Bitcoin Ransom on: July 16, 2018, 02:41:30 PM
Don't you guys know how this scam works? There are no videos, and they don't have access to your webcam. It's just a lie to trick gullible people into handing over their money. Protip: actual blackmailers always send their victims a copy of the embarrassing footage, to prove they really have it.

Exactly.  Millions of these types of blackmail emails are sent out every day all over the world, yet trash gutter press outlets like bitzamp seem to think that it's something new & sensationalise it to the hilt with FUD headlines in a cheap attempt at clickbait.

Just when I think that these junk outlets have reached rock bottom, they go further into the sewer. It's getting to the point where reading the "press" section is actually embarrassing & written by bored 10 year olds with nothing better to do.

Jeez..... Roll Eyes

Buzz words such as “masturbation” and “scammers can really attract a lot. I don’t see why there should be much attention over it. Anything that can generate publicity is used by these press outlets.

I’d have to agree that the retrieval of masturbation videos were kind of sketchy for me. Even if they were really great hackers, I don’t think that the videos really existed. These victims must be really guilty and were most probably panicking if they fell for this bluff. Most of the time, people make reckless decisions out of their desperation to protect their image and reputation.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: July 16, 2018, 01:46:04 PM
@BitcoinNewbie15. Have you learned nothing hehehe. George R.R. Martin is known to change the story when the fans have already gotten accustomed to one suggestion of what might happen.

I reckon it might be an unhappy ending. The Night King must rule because a long winter is required to destroy the old realm and give way to the new.

Oh BitcoinNewbie, you know nothing;)

I was actually turned off from the first season but glad I binged like some users all the way through 4 seasons. I have my bias in "fantasy" genre, and I won't start bringing in the "book better than movie" argument but I think all credit due to GoT for taking the time to give a fantasy story the storytelling it deserves (I still think Tolkien universe is potentially more riveting and "epic" but that's something else).

I reckon the same as bbc: unhappy ending, a clean slate, with all former friends and foes killed off or sequestered, including Night King.

All will be destroyed with some great sacrifice, and then a new era to begin with the Throne made obsolete.

BitcoinRush takes odds from Pinnacle (thanks Sy for that tip) and that's my favourite bookie, so if they serve up GoT, I'm going to have some Bitcoin on it.

There is going to be a unhappy ending for sure but the more I read on net more confused I get some say Bran will be killed in second or third episode, then others say Danny will be pregnant and will die, Jamie will die and kill night king. There's just to much and it's one hell of a wait. Nitrogen has the odds out already? Or are they planning to release it.

There’s actually so many fan theories. Have you heard about the one where Bran is said to be the Night King because of his ability to travel through time and dimensions? There has also been rumors that the Night King is a Stark and this further strengthens this theory. Not a fan of the theory tho. It’s very likely that the ending will be very far from what we expect. Got is always full of surprises and until the very end there will probably be more deaths and surprises.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much time does it take to make it your full time job? on: July 16, 2018, 01:22:55 PM
I don’t think there’s a specific number of hours for you to say that you have treated this as a full time job. So long as you have already dedicated most of your time on it as compared to your other daily tasks, then it may be considered as a full time job. Take a look at full time moms for example. We don’t call them full time because of the number of hourse they spend, but because they have dedicated their days on taking care of the family and house. It’s not a surprise, there are many others who actually spend full time on crypto because it is profitable for them like miners and traders.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao on Promoting GCOX Exchange! on: July 15, 2018, 03:06:58 PM
Oh is he?

I also got rumors saying Manny Pacquiao would not only be investing on cryptocurrencies but is planning on making a coin for himself! I don't know the details of the coin and the legitimacy of what i've said. But i think it's all promotions and profits once again (aren't we all?).

yes, I have heard of the coin he plans on creating. It’s said to be called the Pac Coin. He has been chosen to be an ambassador of a global crypto exchange where other celebrities can create, enlist and trade their own tokens. I think he made this move more for public image and not for profits since he’s already stinking rich. He’s already the second richest athlete in the world, just next to his rival Floyd Mayweather.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there difference between bank and cryptocurrency exchange on: July 15, 2018, 02:55:46 PM
There’s really nothing much that you can do to get rid of the fees from exchanges. If you’re so against the fees of an exchnage, then simply don’t use one. Keep in mind that they’re providing a service and every service needs compensation. An exchange is very much different from a bank. You can’t an exchange to simply eradicate all fees and continue providing service just for the sake of decentralization? crypto is still decentalized as it is.  In many ways, you still have more decentralization in an exchange.
268  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018/07/11]Isn’t Chinese Government Optimistic About Crypto? on: July 15, 2018, 01:38:58 PM
I don't think that China is interested in "crypto", they are interested in centralized or private blockchains that can somehow improve their businesses or just attract investments from outside even if they fail later. How they've treated Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies all these years clearly shows that their government despises decentralization and freedom, and I doubt they would change their minds unless they will see some huge benefit for themselves. If China is fine with banning Google, they shouldn't have trouble with continuing to crack down on cryptocurrencies.

They certainly have shown some interest for blockchain technology and I think they plan on using it in order to gain money. China always finds ways to exploit money and as long as they get some financial gain from it, then expect that they’ll be interested. On crypto itself, imo they would rather stray away from it since it will just be a hassle on their part. I’m betting that China is no big fan of decentralization either.
269  Economy / Economics / Re: Toyota, Ford, and General Motors (GM) All Exploring Blockchain Technology on: July 15, 2018, 08:14:44 AM
I think it is among the good news package needed for the market to rise
And if on a long distance
It is very important to spread the idea and start to deal with the world
Then I earn the profit
s

I don’t think that this kind of news would make a contribution for thd market to rise. These companies have optimized blockchain technology to make things easier for them and this won’t have any direct impact for the market of crypto. It’s definitely a benefit for the car companies but I don’t see how this would have any impact to us as crypto-users. It’s just a simple adaption of technology — it’s not so significant.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Manny wins over Matthysse!! on: July 15, 2018, 04:52:20 AM
Pacman won by TKO. He’s now a world champion again. He should have never joined the political world and should have stayed at the boxing ring. At his age, I’m impressed by his performance. Imo, I think he should have retired a long time ago but it looks like he’s still got some energy left. Based from his previous matches, he even got slower as compared to before.
271  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: KYC and AML Compliance can help cryptocurrencies to earn legitimacy on: July 14, 2018, 12:28:30 PM
Basically, you are waiting for a bunch of criminals (the governments) to increase Bitcoin's legitimacy? Good luck waiting.

I don't need the word of the government to know if something is useful and stimulating a free economy. If people somehow need the government to spoon-feed them with (flawed) etiquette, they can just as well get lost directly, because they clearly can't think and act on their own. This empty headed chicken mentality is exactly what makes goverments so powerful; they know they can do with people whatever they want, and they will swallow it like a bitch.

Tip; Don't ask/wait for approval or permission (from whatever entity) to use something that doesn't require any approval or permission to be used.
Governments are powerful and they should be, not only for a single reason. My opinion is a bit contradictory. We can't go against the government for all the time in life. Yet we need to encourage them for taking steps towards legitimacy of Bitcoin and other virtual assets.
People who go against the government rules commit crime. Those people will be happy with a blurred impression of BTC who are involved in unethical and truly illegal  activities. But those governments are welcomed who accepts the decentralized model of currency.

But let’s first think. Where does the government get it’s power? Don’t the people give it’s power? Were it not for the people, the gov’t would not have any power and authority because this is given by its people. If the people did not appoint them, then would they have any power? No, of course not. Do not view the gov’t as some ultimately powerful entity. We have our rights and I believe the use of crypto is one of them. The use of crypto is not a crime unless declared so by your gov’t, so you shouldn’t have any fear and you should be free to continue using it.
272  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-07-11] Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin Reveals He Is an Ethereum Miner on: July 11, 2018, 02:42:47 PM
Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin made the surprise revelation that he is an Ethereum (ETH) miner at the Blockchain Summit in Morocco Sunday.

Brin is currently the president of Alphabet, Google’s parent company which formed as part of the tech giant’s restructuring back in 2015, but his “side hustle” is apparently mining the world’s second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, together with his 10-year old son.

274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A trader's heart on: July 11, 2018, 02:31:58 PM
Last year everyone was confident in calling the top, and every time they were proven wrong. In the same way people calling bottoms are proven wrong time on time again. The thing with people is that they are constantly trying to act all smart about this or that pump or dump, but it's always after the event took place, and never before. Wink

One thing I've learned about crypto- especially bitcoin, even though it's a big market and millions of people involved, there are some people who have the power to drive the market by co-operating with other traders, some whales buy and sell bitcoin at one point to get profit which occasionally can influence people to panic buy or panic sell that cause snowball effect, then media and people who claim themselves expert in crypto will speculate and give the reason why this is happening, yes after the event took place. as for others who have stated bitcoin will reach $50K-$60K, they just waiting for it to happen and say; I have said so Cheesy because the potential of bitcoin.
As far as I am concerned, every trader’s heart should be like a stone or a robot. Do not think, just act based on what you know and not what you feel it should be like. Once you have a strategy in play, robots don't think, they execute that strategy irrespective, whether you are stopping loss or you are entering a market as well as exiting the market.

The market is highly volatile and the best way to play this volatility is to always make quick decisions to get the best from it, and those decisions cannot be made with emotions.

This is why some people use bots or opt to automate their trades — it is to avoid allowing their emotions from affecting their trading. Many times, people have been victims of their emotions or FOMO because this has led them to make bad decisions such as exiting at a loss. Others avoid viewing the price charts every now and then because it only stresses them out. With the kind of market fro cryptocurrency, one should have a heart that would allow them to make the best decisions according to their financial interest.
275  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-11] Philippines granted a license to Hong Kong-based crypto exchange on: July 11, 2018, 02:10:21 PM
Great move for the Philippines and its good that they’re open to allowing foreign based exchanges to enter. It seems that they’re sort of strict in making their headquarters based in Cagayn since they have only allowed them two years to relocate. Manila is very far from Cagayan and it’s a wonder why they are made to be based way over there. Gathering employees who are willing to relocate might be a problem but this firm opening would definitely offer some job opportunities for others.

It’s great to hear that there is also some consideration towards ICOs even while it is known to be full of scams. The Philippines is becoming more and more crypto friendly and new developments are being heard almost everyday now.
276  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it possible to reveal our identity in the local exchange? on: July 11, 2018, 01:38:35 PM
It’s very possible. Jurisdictions may some day choose to impose KYC on exchanges and there would be necessary measures such as proof of ID which compels you to reveal your identity. I don’t see anything wrong with this so long as your privacy is still protected. This may even reduce scams and fictitious identites from entering or utilizing exchanges. It’s likely that this will soon happen, especially for countries that have already adopted crypto.
277  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best News Sources for Cryptocurrency Traders and Investors on: July 11, 2018, 01:14:44 PM
You can very well add the following news sites as well. https://cointelegraph.com/ and https://news.bitcoin.com/ are another best news sites. Good topic though and yes we need it. Yes https://www.coindesk.com/ is another news channal where the news seems to be true. Besides news we do have articles which do help with more information. Good contribution mate.

I’d like to add CNBC Crypto. It’s a seperate news section of CNBC which solely discusses about cryptocurrency. CNBC has been renowned to be a credible new source for business related news and I have found their crypto section to be very informative as well. They sometimes have videos as well and critiques who explain aspects about crypto so I think this is suitable for those who are still getting to know crypto.
278  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC new ATH in 2018 on: July 11, 2018, 12:49:13 PM
What has occured last 2013 which makes you say that it will have a similar situation this 2018? Other than the similar price trend and timeline, are their other factors which has contributed to the price hikes? For last 2018, the price has gone up because of the huge volume of investors suddenly entering the market. There has been some claims discrediting this occurence but IMO its still a factor to the price. Has the same occured last 2013?
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is bounty programs to the overall success of icos? on: July 11, 2018, 11:29:13 AM
Bounty campaigns generate advertisement and promotion for an ICO a bounty campaign can help attract investors for an ICO. There are many bounty campaigns done here in this forum because many of the users here are on the look out for potential ICOs to invest to. Also, since bounty campaigns reach Facebook, Twitter and other forms of social media, this can make an ICO more popular.
280  Economy / Gambling / Re: Pornhub Casino now accepting bitcoin and many other cryptocurrency! ph.casino on: July 11, 2018, 07:39:05 AM
Seems to be scamming now. A friend of mine had his 700$ withdrawal delayed and the customer support doesn't seem to be replying at all.

It’s possible that a withdrawal like that would take a long time however customer support should be able to reply promptly and that is negligence on their part. Most of the time, withdrawals require processes such as KYC which take a long time so don’t be quick to say that it is a scam. It sometimes depend on the amount as well and its possible that higher amounts take a longer time.
