That racism issue does not only happen now, it happen in the past already and NBA is not tolerating that.
as you can see:
Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Banned for Life from NBA for Racist Remarks
Yeah I am familar with that case, and it is another example how NBA deals with racism, and it doesn't tolerate it at all. So why hurt NBA then, by refusing to continue with season? Some of these players keep forgetting that many people will loose their jobs if NBA doesn't continue for a 6 month or a year. NBA is huge business, and many are dependent on that. Are they wiling to support all those people when they get fired?

Another thing, if something as trivial as basketball  can distract people so much from something as important, are they genuine in their protests? Even LeBron, who is usually very loud on the subject of racism, wants to continue this season without any further delay, as he realizes that there is room for both things at the same time, one doesn't exclude the other.

Exactly, man. As if the league haven't been facing several problems back then. Am not sure, but looking upon their perspective I don't see any convincing reason to set aside the game just to push through their voices out, as if it would make things over right away  Huh. Not tryin' to mock them or what, maybe they do wanna just join the hype for the sake of getting entitled that they support the protest more than anybody else.

Couldn't blame for being mad about the on-going issue but cancelling the NBA as a whole is a different thing. People who tryin' to get paid to solve their financial problem needed to resume the game, as much as Dwight and Kyrie is concerned about the protest.

263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 15, 2020, 05:30:44 AM
You're welcome!
Actually, the link I have shared with you is about the Howard thing.  Grin
I hope you are updated also about the news in States that are going through mayhem because of this racism issue.
Fire, looting, etc..
Oh boy, I missed that  Grin. My apologies

TLDR, it seems he agree with Kyrie's voice out. Problem is that, the league had decided to resume the game having all the votes except Portland (Dunno about their certain reason than 20 teams, it ain't plausible though, anyway). Either way, July 30, IMO would be clearly a resume of the game no matter how against the several players are, with such ideology.
It is actually a problem because we have many African Americans in the NBA.
Just look at it this way.
Howard, Kyrie, and lot more supporting the African American fight against racism and then someone with the same color is playing while they are fighting for it.
How will you're about it?
They want to finish the battle of racism first before they could feel comfort in playing the game.

Yeah, I agree, man. The dilemma Undecided , this would be a difficult choice for players... on which weigh more. But anyway it is still up for 'em to decide considering they will face no consequences other than a salary cut or whatever it is called. Problem is, it would be no fun to watch NBA games without those starters if they decided not to play at all  Sad.

Just to add, look what I found recently on twitter:

Source: https://twitter.com/patbev21/status/1272254786268618752?s=19

Am not sure how to look this at, it feels that it has two sides.
264  Economy / Economics / Re: If you have agricultural land would you sell it or hold it ? on: June 15, 2020, 01:17:34 AM
If you have agricultural land would you sell it or hold it ?

HOLD!

If you can hold it for 2+ years then it should do pretty well. If other industries fail then you still have something for yourself providing you have the money to use it (if that's your intention).

Now probably isn't a good time to sell and it'll probably be best to sell when the markets are back to being booming and have been for a while...

I’ll agree with @jackg suggestions as this is not a good time to sell your land, and even if you do try to sell it now then people will only try to buy it at a cheaper price, and you’ll loose out on making a good income from your land sale. Further I feel that you should hodl this land for at least 3 - 5 years as the current global economic conditions are bad, and you should only consider selling your land in the short term if you’re getting a surreal profitable deal otherwise don’t bother selling for now.

Yeah I agree too, holding out it for several years will do me good, for sure.

If there's no compelling reason for me to sell it specially in this kind of messed up times, then holding out was the only choice I need to stick with. I'm afraid that I might failed like what my relatives did back then. As they are the one who supposed making a fortune from it. Rushing things would just lead to shallow decisions. So yeah, there will be no selling, till I get a plausible reason to put such land on sale.

Different issues, different reasons.
Some of them are joining the Black Lives Matter movement like this one.

https://clutchpoints.com/lakers-news-dwight-howard-supports-kyrie-irving-refuses-play-basketball/

Some have issues the way management of Disney World is doing things.
Security, test, and staff. Those kinds of issues.

They all agree back in March and April until George Floyd's questionable death in the street.
Some players are shaken and others are trying to be in the middle of the racism issue.
Thanks for the clarification, man. But I don't see any report against the implementation of it except Portland who might be against the 22 teams, and prefer 20 teams to be invited with; (might be because Dame wouldn't play on the remaining 8 games  Huh). More over, there were protest as you mentioned, that is on-going issue about "Black Lives Matter" have in US   Undecided.

Talk about the protest, I stumble upon this latest statement about Howard in Reddit.
And here's what I got upon clicking the news:
Quote
"I agree with Kyrie (Irving). Basketball, or entertainment period, isn’t needed at this moment, and will only be a distraction. "I agree with Kyrie (Irving). Basketball, or entertainment period, isn’t needed at this moment, and will only be a distraction..."

266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 14, 2020, 06:44:41 AM
I have watched a video on youtube saying that if the player will not be punished if they don't want to play this time. Yes it is part of their job as a player and they are under a contract but I think the health of every player is more important right now than the contract. Players didn't want this to happen and no one want too but if I'm on their situation, I will not risk my life too unless there are very strict guidelines that will be implemented but I'm not in a 100% condition still.
Is that a news youtube channel for sports? that's a good if there is no punishment regarding the disagreement of players whenever they have a match.
From what I found, the league would reduced their salaries  Undecided.

To confirm it. I found this article:
Quote
The league is reportedly not requiring its players to participate in the season restart if they are uncomfortable doing so. Players who voluntarily sit out would lose a portion of their salaries, but would otherwise face no consequences.
Source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/nba/2020/06/13/kyrie-irving-nba-season-restart-orlando
(Phrase in bold is what confirms it)

Much better than going to into any sort of legalities. And it is understandable considering the situation they have right now in their country. Loads of confirmed cases, and an on-going protest against racism in some other state. Well, some players like Malcolm Brogdon, and Jaylen Brown, you name it have found participating in the protest.

~
Player voices was not heard. The voting of the July tip-off just came from NBA management without regards to what the players feel.
It was only right for the NBA management to craft the format first before talking to the player's association. If I read the NBPA's statement correctly, they all approved the resumption but they have issues with its implementation.

Am not sure, and I don't quite follow. Is this about Kyrie's concern? Or was it a different story? (Please enlighten me with this one  Smiley, Thank you)
267  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade isn’t for Me guys. on: June 14, 2020, 04:59:56 AM
Nobody made a good cut on the entirety of their trading journey. I'd say, you'll always be encountering unfortunate events even if you feel that you're already good at it  Tongue.

You shouldn't feel bad, bad experiences often leads to good result, what I am tryin' to point out is that you knew yourself how upsetting not getting the profit you expect, and worse is you just loss hence, you'll keep on doing better than before. Just keep on doing what you do and avoid silly mistakes you did last time, and take what you experienced now, and you'll be encountering (bad or good) soon as a lesson so you will do less wrong in the future. No one is perfect in this path, remember that  Wink.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Snipie's gambling investment test on: June 14, 2020, 03:09:41 AM
I wanna try it too but I still need to save a couple of BTCs  Undecided. More than that I can't afford to put all of it on one try.

Good luck with your investment. Remember that in dice casino has very small house edge. Statistic advantage over gambler is visible only in very long run (months - years (not weeks)). I know what i'm saying. 1 lucky whale eat my whole month profit - one bad day change my monthly profit from 6% to -1%:
This might happen to us too who are invested in Yolodice right now Cheesy. Taking profit on it takes a long time but losing money on it because of one whale winning a huge money takes seconds only Cheesy.

I'm afraid this might happen, but it is better than just let nothing happened with my savings.
I have a dumb question (my apologies)  Cheesy. Would you able to take it all right away? At anytime? Right?

Nice gain for one month  Shocked. Will follow this thread. As I need to take some progress too. Anyway, thanks for sharing guys  Smiley.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 13, 2020, 01:25:51 PM
Jokic is not KD, he doesn't have the ability like Durant has and he is playing as a center, so he need to be more dominant inside to create points and be effective with his defense as well, I don't think his fans like the way he look like now, but still we need to see on his performance if that would really help him improve as a player, remember he already is in the star status in the NBA, if he can't maintain that, people will be disappointed because he loss weight.

Yeah, my apologies  Cheesy. I wasn't tryin' to compare the two as they have entirely different playstyle. I was just imagining what speed Jokic would get with his body shape he has now  Grin, and I think it wasn't a bad thing.

-
There are now those players that don't want to proceed with the restart because of having no audience. Having supporters cheering for their team really is a big factor.
They are under on a contract, they will have to participate as that is part of their job, they will only be excuse if they have a valid reason.
If they will not participate they will break the contract and they will be sued which might affect their future in the NBA.
We are talking of huge money here as per their contract, especially the star players so it's a big lost for the players as NBA can always find a player that would play for a certain team.

Exactly, man. It was already been decided, and I think their voice/petition wouldn't change much anything. It'll just bring 'em in a bad situation. But whatever, they knew it better what would might happen to them if they decided not to play in such date.

Besides, the league followed did a strict demeanor to as much possible avoid the possibilities of spreading the virus. Like their on-going plan about testing stuff against the virus.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you donate in a casino? on: June 13, 2020, 10:25:09 AM
if the casino can show real proof, I have no problem donating in a casino..  the most difficult thing to find right now is honesty, I have seen the bad news about donation houses many times and this makes me a little hesitant to donate to donation organizations.  even today there are also many donation organizations that commit fraud in the name of "assistance for the COVID-19 pandemic".  Donation is not just money, it is also trust..
Right now, this is one reason why people are hesitant when it comes to donations and charities especially if they are held online.
That's why background checking is very crucial in a situation like this, specially for group or organization who seemed to came up out of nowhere. Else they will be the one who will enjoy the money or items that is supposed be donated for people who really are in need  Sad. Makes me wonder, how they endured not pitying those poor people.

With regards to this, I want too but I'll just donate it to the people here in my place.

Yeah, or you can direct your donations to the LGUs in your area since they knew better where these people in need are livin'/stayin' specially those people who don't have permanent homes.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 12, 2020, 12:17:42 PM
Regarding Jokic, I can't wait to see how fast he moves next time he plays. I hope he's building some muscles already.
At first, I thought his before and after pic was just a meme. He looked like Porzingis at first glance.

Looking at the picture shared, he doesn't look good IMO.

We can't just see if the fats he burned were turned into muscle since he has his jacket and shirt on. But either way, I think it's good, he'll be more quicker, and he doesn't need to rely on his weight to attack the rim with his low post skills anymore, and lastly it won't be as tiring as it was before, you know... carrying his body weight. Beside it doesn't change the fact that he still has his skills on passing  Cheesy.

Take a look at KD, despite his skinny body shape he dominate guys that even twice to his body weight, the body he has helps him a lot from jumping upto attacking the rim way quick more than the other guys the same or as close to the height as he has. And I think, it will be also a great help to Jokic although the two man have different playstyles but that additional speed he would acquire is  important, IMO  Grin. He just need to develop muscle and increase his strength from now on.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 12, 2020, 03:26:21 AM
Anyway, have guys read an article about Luka getting out of shape? His trainer Jure Drasklar confirmed it. Though his trainer told the media that "it's just normal". Im still curios about this and I can't find any reliable source that posted a photo proof.

There's a clarification behind that "out of shape" thing, confirmed by Tim Cato's twit from his last conversation with Luka's trainer. So, it seems there was a misunderstanding with that statement  Huh.

According to this twit from Tim Cato:
https://twitter.com/tim_cato/status/1271207910194982915?s=19

And so I look around to see what shape is Luka in. This is what I got from his latest IG story.

Source from his profile: https://instagram.com/lukadoncic?igshid=13kilcler1avn

He looks fine and well. He doesn't look like he lose weight nor he gain either. He looks the same, maybe he maintained his body that very well unlike Harden, and Jokic. They really went into big transformation  Shocked. Can't wait to see them play with such body  Grin.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 11, 2020, 11:33:11 AM
I think Lakers os Clippers will be champions this season. If you choose between two, then probably Lakers more.

Underestimating the Bucks and Toronto.
Remember, the Raptors are still a solid team despite the fact that they lost their best player from last season.
Still too early to say the Lakers or the Clippers will become the 2020 NBA champion.

I agree, which is why I am rooting for another team too.  Grin
Will it hurt their feelings if I say Mavericks will be the champ this year?  Grin

Nah, I'm quite scared with the Mavericks too  Cheesy. Luka played very well this season, and I feel he'll do much better in the remaining 8 games upto playoffs (though too early to conclude). Well, Porzingis is good as well  Smiley. If it weren't about Luka they won't get close to bounding in, in this coming playoffs, note their last was 2015-16 season.

Look at his stats:

Source: https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/doncilu01.html

It is too good to ignore. We don't know how far this young man can go. In addition, he's a type of guy worth rooting for, and that is for certain. I just idolize Bron that much but if I'll pick another team I'd go with Luka's  Grin.
274  Local / Pilipinas / Re: The Anti-Terrorism Act and Why Non-Custodial Wallets Will Be Important on: June 10, 2020, 08:55:40 AM
May isang problem dito na maaring mangyari.
You do have the seed phrase in your hardware wallet pero paano mo ito mailalabas to pay for your attorney?
Babalik na naman tayo sa Coins.ph or anything you prefer.
Once suspected ka na nga at nakafreeze ang account mo, you still don't have a way para maging pera (fiat) ang crypto currency.
Only solution is if the lawyer will accept those option of payment.

You could transfer it naman sa mga non-freeze account kung mabibigyan ka ng permission to do it so. Other way, you can ask your friends, relatives or someone you trust for a favor to do process while being held or monitored ng authorities. Or if possible you can ask your lawyer itself. (Do I get your statemen right?) Please correct me na lang if I get the wrong idea  Cheesy.

As of the anti-terrorism bill.
Hindi ba tayo nag oover-react dito?
The senators will someday be a simple Filipino citizen without power when he/she is not voted by the people.
That means kasali sila sa maapektuhan but they let it pass which means napagaralan ito maigi.

Di kaya masyado tayong na-feed ng media with wrong informations or wrong interpretation of the said bill.

What made people react like that IMO is because 'yong nilalaman ay masyadong invading against sa rights mo. Warrantless, Detained without court intervention (Am not sure if na-revised na 'to), ang alarming masyado niyan. And bakit pa ngayon, what's the urgency about ba? Ang marami lang ngayon kung titingnan ay ang kritisismo against the government, and normal lang naman mag-express ng dissent ang mga tao sa nakikita nilang mali. And there's still an issue that needs to be deal with pa. (Mass testing) Huh. Kung matuloy man 'tong bill mapirmahan ni President (but for sure pipirmahan niya since siya nag-order na urgent) sana ma-revised pa as fair as possible.

Regarding sa non-custodial wallet, need na talaga mag-shift nung iba to this. Mahirap na't kitang-kita naman kayang gawin sa account mo nung bill na 'yan. On top of that, let's not forget rin 'yong sinabi ni @Bttzed03 sa dulo.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your stategy how to grow bitcoin on: June 09, 2020, 04:06:40 PM
How about designating and saving a certain fiat amount each month from your salary? For example if you have a decent job, At least $100  or lower per month but it depends on your capability and buy some bitcoin. I guess in 1 year you can have a decent amount of bitcoin. I am not doing it regularly but sometimes I bought like $10-$50 when I have extra money and that is my strategy in accumulating bitcoin.
I tend to agree and probably when the right time comes you will have an early retirement for your self because you've saved a lot of Bitcoin for the future.

I like this idea. Might try this soon  Cheesy. However, it feels kinda cumbersome for individuals who are on a tight budget to execute this idea, what I mean is, those people whose monthly expenses are almost equal to their monthly salary 'cause in some unexpected circumstances it might ruined the whole saving plan though Sad.

With that being said, and OP if you're already fed up with trading maybe then investment is the best option that fits well with you. Although waiting for its growth is kind of a bummer but it'll do you good in the long run  Wink.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 09, 2020, 07:52:04 AM

The spurs are over now, they can't win this very important games without LA, who will provide these average to the team?
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/aldrila01.html

I think we will see the Blazers in the coming playoffs.

People would not back the Spurs to win without LA as he is one of the most consistent points provider to the team.

I couldn't say that it was already over for 'em but it would be very tough for the team to bound in, that is for certain. 18 ppg was a big thing considering that there aren't many shooters or who average in terms of point the same as or as close as to Derozan and LA 'cause the rest are averaging 11-10 ppg below Sad.

Not sure about Blazers (is Dame gonna play the remaining 8 games? 'cause if he's sure, it'll be a different story). However, in their conference Pelicans and Grizzlies are the heavy favorites. On top of that, these teams I mentioned, many of their players are averaging in double figures. Not to mention Kings, they are pretty scary team as well Grin.

This happened because in his original post, he made a mistake and put his message inside a quote. The bot removes all quotes before sending the notification, so the post appeared empty.

Hi there, @TryNinja.

I'm not sure if this were some sort of bug or what.

As you can see in the photo, I was notified by @iv4n's quote on my reply but the message doesn't show any text about the user's reply. Was it because the title topic was too long? Good thing the bot works totally fine again after it. This was the said user post, by the way.

This is not a problem to me Cheesy as I can click on the hyperlink text to get myself directed on that certain thread. But I just want to report something strange happened to me.
279  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs. Gold: which has been more of a safe-haven asset in 2020? on: June 08, 2020, 03:32:34 PM
It is too short of a time for Bitcoin to be a safe haven here while considering the ideology of volatilty. Of course, bitcoin would fell short, anyhow Gold is been here for more than a decade, and is used in a widerscale than Bitcoin has. I had take quick skim with eveyone's answer... and it just leads to Gold winning the debate here, obviously. The time, and the population it has is what made it worthy of being a safehaven. But talking about bigger profit in a short time span, BTC wins here  Wink.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 08, 2020, 12:26:40 PM

TBH, these young core of the Spurs now are nowhere near to the big 3 of the spurs before (Duncan, Parker, and Ginóbili). so I don't expect spurs will be successful if they will not get another star players that have already prove himself from a team he is playing with now.

I think we will never see this kind of line up of the spurs anymore, and coach pop time with the Basketball will be over soon, so we can't expect that the one who inherit the coaching job will be as good as him. I heard Timmy has a good chance of getting that spot, anyway, that's just a rumor, but I'll be very glad to see him as the coach of the spurs and let's see if he can be a great coach like a player he was.

https://www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs/article/Tim-Duncan-s-future-a-hot-topic-after-San-15105988.php
Yeah, I agree!

And about the inheriting stuff. That's great if it happens Grin. And I must say... it is the most possible scenario in the future since there aren't any sort of sign who will take up the spurs except Timmy.

I believe Timmy would handle the team very well as he's been with the spurs on his entire 19-year career an additional qualities he could offer to the team. And been under the guidance of Gregg Popovich alone since his draft. Imagine the bond, and experiences they shared. Probably Timmy had learned a lot about it, not to mention that he is an assistant coach right now next to Pop.
