and how do i track down miner and get them to communicate back to me?

Have you contacted coinkite with a signed message as prove that you sent the transaction? That is pretty much all you can do at that point.

who is or are coinkite and who is bitfury?

Oh sorry, I meant bitfury. Did you contact them? (they are a mining farm)
262  Economy / Speculation / Re: URGENT, Bitcoin is on the verge of collapse !!! on: August 07, 2014, 01:21:11 AM
Are we still on the verge of a collapse?

Oh my god, and I didn't notice this the last 6 months....

263  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long have you been using Bitcoin? on: August 07, 2014, 01:19:46 AM
This thread would yield nearly the same type of answers if the question was:

"How long have you been using Heroin"

Haha

265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether or Stellar ? on: August 07, 2014, 01:18:18 AM
How about none?

Both won't bring much utility to the common people. Sure there are some usecases for it, but those are very limited and even vitalik is avoiding this topic all the time saying: "so many things can be built with it." but what? "We will see.."

Well, people buy into that crap, let them...

Jails actually are more criminal factories than correction facilities because of the environment. You have abuses of power from the guards, and obviously, lower class criminals mixed with higher class criminals, so the odds are that when you get out you will be on a higher tier on criminality.

This is only like that in your country. European facilities are very well organized to help those guys and give them a chance to better them selves. This is done with much education and work. Later halfwayhouses and then with companies that offer those guys jobs so that they have no need to become criminal again. The success rate is over the roof, compared to US corrupt crap prisons...

why do you assume I'm from USA? lol

Anyway, the point I made was based on a scientific experiment which is in the book I linked.

It is semantics, what I meant was, that "Jails" is a very broad term and I would exclude European facilities from it, because the theory doesn't hold true for those.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: August 07, 2014, 01:12:34 AM
inuit is quite good.

For long passwords I tend to use all the passwords I previously used strapped together, it's longer than than a 256 bit private key with higher variance per character.

But if someone gets hold of your old passwords combined with the information you just provided, the "bit security" goes down south very fast Wink

If they managed to get passwords back to the 90s, including offline ones for routers and bank cards, then they can have it all Smiley

Haha true, but then there is always the risk that you get a head trauma and forget the password or parts of it. And such accidents are not very rare.

I'd rather use BIP0038 protected wallet or split wallets using shamir secret sharing

if i can track down the miner… what is that going to take. and no i do not exactly know what you mean by sign a message
Ok here is what you do. When those guys ask you to prove that you own those address, you do the following:

Receive Money -> Addresses (active) -> Actions -> Sign message

There you input a personal text and sign it, the result of that process you can give to the miner.
271  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What good things has Obama had since he is elected ? on: August 07, 2014, 01:04:33 AM
To be fair, Obama should definitely give back the Nobel Peace Prize.

The only Nation's leader that can accept that prize with complete honesty is Nelson Mandela.

I have to disagree.  If Yassir Arafat can have a Peace Prize, an American president who went 8 whole years without invading a country surely deserves one too?  If Romney or McCain had won, the US would have invaded Iran and Syria by now.  Its a low bar but Obama is more peaceable than the alternatives.

Oh boy, you guys from overseas really got some high standards going Wink

If that was a criteria 180-200 countries would get a nobelprice everyyear.

Attention!
http://coinia.net/qora/?q=QXx7SnaEPvEczS8rX7HZKH3pY4vXG8ATxK

Sharexchange moved 65m qora to poloniex! I alerted busoni and poloniex and we need more people to do so immediately.
He caused the dump to single digit satoshi. That stolen qora (now btc) belongs to our community. Let's hope we can get it!

Wow, nice detective skills! I just sent an email to busoni.
274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the number of coins surpass 21 million? on: August 07, 2014, 12:56:57 AM
that would never happen, has someone already said, actually 1 bitcoin has 100 millions units to be dividible, so even if bitcoin goes to 1 million usd, the decimals are enough...

Exactly and in addition to that, like RyninD said, you can add as many digits as you want with a hard fork!
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 07, 2014, 12:55:49 AM
Still, it's bigger than Ripple. So wait for the real marketcap before you start complaining about how much you sold early

The thing is, this is not a currency intended to be used as currency really, they want to be a gateway to trading of a huge number of stuff, stellars will just be the medium of exchange.
276  Other / Meta / Re: Don't understand where my post went? on: August 07, 2014, 12:48:07 AM
It was probably deleted because of Spam protection. Try making some more posts in other threads, then you don't get caught by spam detection Wink

I only came here to give something to the community, totally free haha.

I'll try post it again.

Yeah this can happen. But that needs to be in place to avoid flood of spam by bots!
I've tried posting it on several different forums, with different variations.

keep getting error:
Code:
An Error Has Occurred!
The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later.

I totally give in.

It was an address verification system API I coded myself.

Newbies with less than 15 activity need to wait 360 between posts. Search for explanation in the stickies in this section and in the beginners and help section, or take a closer look at the rest of meta forum, because every page there is at least one topic about the 360s time limit

All details can be found here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.msg5106206#msg5106206

waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin STILL has the highest number of ACTIVE ADDRESSES of all the altcoins. on: August 07, 2014, 12:46:26 AM
According to the links in the OP, DOGE hasn't the highest number of active addresses. Wtf you trying to pull here OP?

Dogecoin STILL has the highest number of ACTIVE ADDRESSES of all the altcoins.

Oh boy, maybe I should learn to read the headline much more carefully... sry!

It could be raised with a hard fork, but it won't ever happen. Would destroy the integrity of the whole project!
