Anybody with a SP31 found a 'sweet spot', can't get more than 4.7THs out of mine.

Working now.  I didn't change anything.
If you could arrange for some green blocks that would be great.
Thanks Doc

I can confirm about SP31 shipping, got my email, checked the tracking, DHL should deliver on Monday.

Not the answer I was looking for unfortunately, but thanks for your reply.

The hash rate of the SP31 will be 4.9TH/s +- 5%.

Our commitment to our customers is as it has always been: to preserve the USD per GH/s ratio that was promised to them. We will compensate all customers for the difference in hash rate based on preserving the USD per GH/s ratio of the original deal.

This is unfortunate (5.5Ths advertised rate) ... yet again I have per-ordered a machine that will under-perform from the advertised rate.

Granted, Sponds you will be fair and offer compensation for the Ghs shortfall (not that any details about this were issued?), but we really are seeing history being repeated again, and again.

Guy, I wonder why you base your business model on raising hype, and then under performing and having to compensate ... Your silence until today about specs had already alerted me.

Been a while since we've seen that name towards the top of the leader board, welcome back to Koi ...

27-th of October 2014 ...already in Israel...last week of October...FACT... Grin

Is SP20 shipping...maybe in volume... Huh

Cheers,

ZiG

- SP20 and SP31 will be shipped next week
- Spec update early next week, I'm waiting for SP35 build and test.

Machines are on their way this week, Sponds always leaves it till the last few days, that is their way, but always deliver.

268  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: October 24, 2014, 09:35:13 PM

Sponds will of course have a few 'projects' going on in the background. The SP35 will be replaced by another 'SP' ... but what that 'SP' is ...

... 2015 will finally change home mining for good (if that hasn't happened already) and online hosted solutions will .. well .. be a punt at best, we need a 'think different' out of the box solution.

Granted, Sponds have mainly been focused on data center miners, the SP20 is for the home market.

Interesting times ahead.

Congratulations!

Yep, great stuff ... solo we are, and solo winners there are in this lottery.

8.8Ths just goes to show ... I love that, BIG hash or LOW hash, keep calm and hash on.

- Updated SP31, SP35 and SP20 spec will be published on Tuesday or Wednesday next week
- The refund process will start next week and will be completed in October, as promised

It's Thursday now, any news on the updated specs?

Doc (and eleuthria) ...

Real time figures would surely give people reassurance that 'payment things' are happening in the background, to give them reassurance.

Newbies and some others need to understand/learn the way shifts work. The suggestion is people need to see the shifts column populated with some kind of dynamic data to help them out/understand.

I'm not a programmer, but I know I like straight facts. Is it possible to show 'shifts' in progress' as they slowly crystallize into fact?

Yeah, I was just thinking it would be cool to have an animation of coins flying from the new block and landing on the 10 shifts. Tongue

Really? LOL

And yes, today has been a good day to have your miners pointed at BitMinter. A 50 minute block was  ... well ... so welcome!

272  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: October 18, 2014, 10:04:39 PM
Doc, given your looking for feedback/ideas … here’s my wish list:

1) Once logged in it would be great so see the ‘Live Stats Full Size’ screen plus 'Balance', 'Unconfirmed', 'Future'.

Sorry to mention another pool, but eleuthria has done a good job when you login ... earnings, speed (both pool and personally), along with shifts and block earnings are all available. Scroll down and you also get a feel for how your workers are doing.

2) It would be good to see how our miners/workers are performing in a graph format. 24hr/48hr/1 week. This makes it easy to see their performance over time. The current ‘workers’ tab doesn’t allow this information to be tracked.

Many people host their kit these days, and not all hosting companies allow direct internet access … so it feels like you mine in the dark. Even if you do have access, the readings are only an indication … it’s what the pool is accepting that really matters.

For example, I have a SP30 that has been troublesome, and can’t access it directly …. So I was forced to point it to a site where I could get good graphical information over time as to how it was performing.

Just my two cents worth ...

PS: I liked the expected payout per future block which got removed ... but understand why you did it  Wink

Currently there are two servers.

us1.bitminter.com:3333 in Los Angeles
us2.bitminter.com:3333 in Kansas City

mint.bitminter.com:3333 is an alias for us1.

If you set only one server, use mint.bitminter.com:3333

If you want a backup server I recommend you set either us2 as primary and mint as secondary, or mint as primary and us2 as secondary "pool" in your miners.

Thanks Doc, understood.

274  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: October 17, 2014, 09:15:02 PM
New server is up, and stats have been updated on the website!

We now have a new server up at us2.bitminter.com:3333 (Stratum only)

Should we all be updating our stratum miner settings to this new server now? The homepage info still says stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333, will the '3333' server be closing at some stage?

275  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: October 15, 2014, 09:17:04 PM
awesome hash rate!! keep it going!  Grin

Let's hope they're not pool hoppers, a boost for us all for sure.  Almost doubled the pool speed.

Do they (he/she?) have a voice on this forum?

The Docs re-worked 3hr shifts now down (as I write) to 1hr 53mins.

Bitminter is quite fun right now  Grin

276  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: October 14, 2014, 10:13:08 PM
The current worker stats on the site look a bit off for me ... I have checked a few times today, and my hash rate shows too low, but when I look at the latest completed shifts, all looks in order.

For example:

SP30 - reads 7270 (I wish!)
S3 no.1 - reads 219 (oops)
S3 no. 2- reads 109 (again too low)

I get these weird readings, and then 5  mins later:

SP30 - reads 4017
S3 no.1 - reads 539
S3 no.2 - reads 439

Up and down like a YO YO, I expect to  see variances, but these swings I haven't seen on BitMinter before.

Just me? Doc ... any ideas?

More information is needed on whether this is just a publicity stunt.

It is actually old news ... read back in the thread ... traction will hopefully gain.

OH! Look ... KnCMiner releases Bitcoin wallet for iOS

In the press release, KnCMiner CEO Sam Cole said:

“Despite some press reports to the contrary, we also have no plans to scale back the individual miner sales segment of our business; we will continue to sell the best cryptocurrency hardware money can buy to anyone who wants to have it. However, to continue doing business at ‘Bitcoin speed’ requires a certain amount of flexibility in the expansion of our business model, so we are looking at areas where we can not only strengthen our company’s position, but give more people more opportunities to participate in the Bitcoin economy.”

our tools send us emergency emails or (if the deviation is severe enough) text messages and robocalls.

Tonight both machines are back down to 19C and 21C respectively, so all OK.

Really good to know you have such systems in place to automatically monitor temps, my SP30s are in good hands.
