262  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: October 01, 2013, 04:01:02 AM
astutiumRob: diff will be 149M at least for domestic customers (which we expect to be the majority of our customer base.) Next diff is estimated to be only 180M per allchains.info, very far from the 298M people were quoting. Also the average worldwide electricity price is $0.10/kWh. It makes sense to pick this one as the default. And again we expect our auction to naturally attract those with lower than average rates.

Don't even try to defend the ROI. It's just not there. These will not break even at the current bid prices unless you have nearly free power.

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/cf8f2331e7

Please realize you make an incorrect statement out of literal rounding errors.

Demonstration: change your analysis' power cost to $0.085/kWh (still very close to the worldwide's average, 15% below it, hardly what I would call "nearly free power"), and change the monthly difficulty increase from 100% to 95% (just to demonstrate you are playing with rounding errors) and ROI is achieved in Jan 2014: http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/5ce6d144b8

Therefore you cannot claim "ROI is just not there", just as one cannot claim "insanely great profits are there" (with a 19 BTC price and ~100% monthly diff increases). Which is why I am taking the middle-ground position of "ROI will approximately be achieved (either slight losses or slight profits) in this hypothetical scenario".

Also, as others pointed out, I am not claiming a ROI in all scenarios. Fundamentally, neither I, nor you, know future monthly diff increases:
- They could be 50% in which case great profits will be made.
- They could be 100% in which case ROI will approximately be achieved.
- They could be 150% in which case losses will happen.

AdamKD: we guarantee all redhash units achieve 105 Ghash/sec +/- 5%.

264  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: September 30, 2013, 08:10:13 PM
Update:

For international shipping, we highly recommend to ship the Redhash unit without the Power Supply Unit as its presence may cause issues at Customs during import. You should instead purchase a standard PSU on your local market (850 Watt minimum). Of course the decision is up to you, but if you choose to have the Redhash unit shipped without PSU, we will take 0.5 BTC off the price you bid.

sse123: may I publicly ask that you prove to me and to other bidders that you own at least 114 BTC (6 * 19 BTC) by signing a message (eg. "I am sse123 and I bid on redhash units") with one or more bitcoin addresses that contain 114 BTC in total? Or PM me and I will ask that you send us a 0.1 BTC deposit per unit, so 0.6 BTC total. In the mean time, I disabled your bid. I will re-enable your bid (keeping your spot exactly in line where it was) the moment you fulfill 1 of the 2 requests. This is to ensure our bidders remain confident in a fair auction. Thanks.

267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Redhash by TAV. A new 105 Gh/s ASIC miner. IN STOCK NOW! on: September 30, 2013, 10:13:36 AM
Just one question; your photo's show 60+ machines, current auction lists 27; how many do you intend to auction off over the coming weeks/months?

Well, not all machines can be sold. Some were never filled in with chips/hash units due to Bitsyncom's delays. Some are stock held for warranty claims. Some have non-working parts.

With that said, I cannot comment on our future plans. Surprises Smiley

sbfree: ok and thanks.

kamranfaisal: please note that your bid falls after people who have already bid 18 BTC (first bidders take precedence over late bidders).
273  Economy / Auctions / Re: TAV’s auction: Redhash 105 Gh/s ASIC miners on: September 30, 2013, 04:40:51 AM
sbfree: in this hypothetical scenario, you would pay 25 BTC.

klintay: we take the average, more specifically we will select a rate that will be at most +/-1 % away from the Coindesk Bitcoin Price Index as explained.
274  Economy / Auctions / Re: TAV’s auction: Redhash 105 Gh/s ASIC miners on: September 30, 2013, 04:33:40 AM
... or making a 0.1 BTC deposit to TAV to allow you to bid which you be returned if you don't win the auction, etc.

I mean: "or making a 0.1 BTC deposit to TAV to allow you to bid - the deposit would be returned if you don't win the auction, etc."
275  Economy / Auctions / Re: TAV’s auction: Redhash 105 Gh/s ASIC miners on: September 30, 2013, 04:30:41 AM
just a question, how do you sure about who will actually pay, and how to confirm the winners? you will send a private email?

I will private message the winners to confirm their email address or phone number. Then TAV will use email or phone to arrange payment and delivery details.

So far, about 8 in 10 bids seem legit with high certainty. Some bitcointalk accounts (like yours) are very new, and if more new accounts start bidding we will start enforcing bidding requirements (such as signing a message with a Bitcoin address holding sufficient funds, or making a 0.1 BTC deposit to TAV to allow you to bid which you be returned if you don't win the auction, etc).

I'm choosing to prescribe to the "no news is good news" also.

In the (short but) entire history of Bitcoin ASIC mining, no news from a vendor has always been bad news: bASIC, BFL SC products, Avalon, etc. Sadly, I expect KnCMiner to be no different.

280  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: $6k to invest in miner today. DIY or Commercial? Suggestions? on: September 29, 2013, 11:27:11 PM
your best bet is to either buy bitcoins as a speculation or go for Asicminer Blades - shipping immediatelly for a reasonable price

May I promote our (TAV's) products?
- Redhash 105 Gh/s (shipping in 3 days) currently being sold at ~20 BTC. That's only 0.19 BTC per Gh/s
- Asicminer blades are more expensive: 13 Gh/s at ~3.5 BTC. That's 0.27 BTC per Gh/s

OP asked for commercial solutions at ~$6k. Redhash units seem a good fit.
