261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one of those did you partake in? on: June 15, 2024, 12:47:39 PM
I am beginning to think that the only time a gambler gambles for fun is only when he gambles with what he can afford to lose. In this case, a gambler has $10,000 as his savings, and he gambles with $1000 down, he or she won't feel sad when they lose it (it means they gambled for fun). But if a gambler who has the same $10,000 gambles for above $5,000, and he loses all of them, the gambler won't be happy about his actions, and it might result in chasing of losses (which means he didn't gamble for fun). It means that both those that say they aren't gambling for fun sometimes gamble for fun, mostly when they risk an amount they can afford to lose. The actual time you gamble for fun is when you risk what you can afford to lose and not when you say you want to gamble for fun. However, a gambler might say he will gamble for fun and still end up not gambling for fun when he starts gambling. One can know a responsible gambler if he starts gambling.

To be honest, gambling with $1000 when you have only $10,000 as your savings is too risky for fun sake, at most $500 which would be used to play multiple games with small stake. The essence of gambling with small stakes is to increase your gambling time and fun, else gambling with huge stakes is an obvious fact that the gambler is gambling to make extra money. Gambling with what you can afford to loose is the best thing to do if truly the gambler doesn't want to get addicted.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A man is unable to collect his price cos he forget where he bought the ticket. on: June 14, 2024, 10:48:56 PM
I noticed on the news that a man won a lottery and when he arrived to claim his prize, he was requested to state or provide information about where he purchased the lottery ticket, which he couldn't do because he didn't know where he obtained it. It drew my interest, and I wondered if forum users could still tell where they purchased all of their lottery tickets in the previous six months (For those who still engage if physical tickets).

If you’re interested in the news you can read it here: https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/ontario-man-can-t-collect-lottery-prize-after-he-forgets-where-he-bought-ticket-1.6924708
Well I don't do lottery tickets that much but I do understand the fact that keeping to vital information is key especially when they find a place to trap you. For some reason I won't blame the fellow because he might have actually had some feelings of nonchalance because of maybe due to the fact that the many they have bought have all been asked. Even in your betting accounts one can still make Mistakes, @when you fail to have the right credentials for the Watters.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What if you have a casino? on: June 14, 2024, 10:41:10 PM
A little guessing the thoughts of casino owners and gambling dealers when they see gamblers playing in their casinos, what might come to mind?

The name of the business is opening a casino definitely wants to make a profit, while people who come to the casino to seek profit too, although not all, but focus on one object of people seeking profit.
If you were the owner of the casino, what would you think when people like that gamble at your place?
Well as a business minded person, trust me it would really gladden my heart knowing that my business is actually doing quite well because the gambling industry only strives and flourish by the losses that comes to the casino house and that's the way these owners are always on the better side for gamblers to lose, its just as saying more looses equal to more profits for the master mind behind the casino.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fixed match or not? on: June 14, 2024, 10:35:38 PM
Pretty much a fixed match. Otherwise, scoring all these 43 goals is impossible. Man it's 1 goal every 2 minute almost lol.

Like this is an open broad day match fixing, I do wonder how some teams are able to score their opponents so many goals upto even 20 goals and above i begin to think if they suddenly converted the game into a basket ball match to score that large numbers of goals lol because it's so strange how a team can beat their opponent as many goals to the extent of scoring 43 goals just for them to top the league table with a goal difference, like this is the highest match fixing of the century if you ask me. Well such a thing happens more in all this junior leagues no team can try such in senior leagues except that club want to be banned from playing.
Well Bayern Munich have actually won some team in a match with a scoreline of about 23 goals scored by bayern Munich but this particular scoreline of 43 goals is just something else and although what am just confused about is that even if a match want to fixed would the teams actually make it this obvious that it will draw and cause attention to them, I mean it could be a simple win and that's all not going all out and scoring that insane amount of goals.
265  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: crypto vs content creation, which is more profitable? on: June 14, 2024, 10:28:42 PM
Since most youths have seen that social media skit makers are cashing out big and living expensive lifestyles, we've noticed a majority of youths creating content up and down some of which are too irrelevant and contribute nothing to the viewers. They just want to get paid and since they want to get the required views and followers before their account is monetized, they are willing to go to any extent just to look for views including showing nudity and spreading false and unverified news just to attract their audience. In the end, some of them luckily get their accounts monetized and earn from it pulling up more crowds into the sector as though it's the only source of wealth in the digital space.

For us at this end, we know that ours isn't as loud as that of content creators and most of us normally enjoy doing things on the low key to avoid too much attention from our financial agencies since it appears as though they have a thing against us. For the traders, we know the risk involved and that it could get too good at some point or get bad at some other time, and then for the long-term investor, we know that our return doesn't come within a short space of time compared to most verified content creators that are currently earning from their page.

Which is more profitable? Content creators or crypto traders/investors.
Well I would choose content creation for one peculiar reason and that would be due to the risk involved with in crypto trading although for investment in bitcoin I think every one knowing the basics can invest and with the way things have already gone big with bitcoin the profits attached to just investing on bitcoin is not close to the money that content creation can generate for you if actually you are successful and know exactly what you are doing.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: June 14, 2024, 10:03:07 PM
Apart from the fact that Real Madrid have a nice squad, there are other competitive teams like Liverpool that you just mentioned though i doubt their ability since Jurgen Klopp will be ending his coaching Job with the team the other clubs includes, Manchester city, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG and Arsenal those are the teams with fairly good squad that can be able to compete the Champions league trophy with Real Madrid.

The UEFA Champions League is never considered simple, there's actually good proportions of winning. Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool have proven to be prominent in recent seasons and having a bright future ahead is the deal. Real Madrid is the best club because they've become one of the successful club. While for other elite team that's mainly struggling to win the UCL trophy, really a tough moment.
The Champions league is very competitive, a league among champions from different leagues is supposingly to be a tough one and for Madrid to keep on winning it shows their greatness compared to other champions. This coming Champions league will be a tough one compared to the last, each qualified teams are currently on a good form to withstand as much  competitor so the fight for the title won't be an easy one but yet Madrid still has it at the tip of their fingers as they are more likely the favourites to win it again. Manchester City will put on a good fight same with Arsenal and probably among the best from Leverkusen base on peoples speculation.
Well if not for anything then maybe probably due to the fact that all teams will try their very best this time not to allow Madrid be the champions again. I believe the main focus now will be for other teams to actually check mate the whole Madrid tactics so they can look for a way to stop them because it would be really annoying to Madrid with the champions league again because it would be as if the whole champions league was made and crafted for them.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: June 13, 2024, 11:57:29 PM
Alot of the sentiment on this thread over the last few days have been largely centered on Madrid winning the title for the second time in a row. As much as they're the true kings of the tournament and are in a really great place right now where they can perform and compete with any team right now, I'm not 100% certain that they can win it yet. A lot of twists and turns are gonna be there and like all football games, the best teams don't always win and I can see that happening with Madrid. There are teams that could still handle them well in the UCL.

My options are still open even though my default, biased choice is going to be Liverpool.
Really? Liverpool is your choice on this ? I don't know if you missed the part that they are actually trying to switch their manager and we all know the effect that normally holds in a club and for the case of Liverpool I just hope it's positive rather than negative because jorgen kloop is actually a really good coach and I find it hard to believe that someone would easily just implement or even do better than what he has done in Liverpool.

A change in the Liverpool team would be good, but such an experienced coach should not be changed.  Although the performance of Liverpool team players has been very poor at present, as I have placed two bets on Liverpool team in the last month or so I have lost there. So I will definitely talk about their performance but it will be best if they change and the team can perform stronger.

Well I don't actually know where you driving at but Liverpool has never been a team just that they heard some set backs as the league was drawing close to an end but of which they actually bounced back but that isn't the center of focus for now, what is being talked about is the effect of them actually having their current coach jorgen kloop leaving the club and this is reason why am being skeptical about @nelson actually giving Liverpool a better hand in stoping the likes of Madrid this coming champions league.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 13, 2024, 11:37:45 PM
Yes, it is indeed reported that Bayern Munich is interested in Jonathan Tah, and Tah is also interested in going to Bayern Munich if his career at Leverkusen ends. In fact, the two of them have also reached an agreement, although not yet official, for his move to Bayern Munich. I don't know for what reason. However, based on the press release, Leverkusen is actually in no rush to sell this player to Bayern Munich. Leverkusen of course wants high sales to get as much fee as possible because after all Leverkusen also has to get other great players who will definitely also be expensive.
Bayern Munich have to reshuffle their squad for next season because it's all whole big challenge for the club. They were trophyless previous season and the new coach, Vincent Kompany would do anything within his space to ensure he's bringing to Allianz Arena, major titles. Atleast they're coming for literally every major titles on their path, Bundesliga Giant are here to revived themselves back to the top level.
Bayern Munich centre-back transferred Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart. Bayern Munich started the transfer season very quickly. To be honest, they need to spend well to build the best squad. Such a giant team finished last season without a trophy. With the reinforcement of Hiroki Ito, Bayern Munich has strengthened its defense well and with Min-jae Kim at centre-back, there is curiosity about how these two will adapt.

Bayern Munich have a really big job to do next season and it's seem their fate is dwindling as the new coach is someone with less experience about the job, I don't know but it seems Bayern Munich has something to prove next season as their league is getting hotter by the day and next season will even be more because the competition will be really fierce among these teams as Dortmund too is getting geared up for the new season.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: June 13, 2024, 11:06:56 PM
Boehly's ego exceeds his bank account. He thinks he's smarter than Pochettino, a manager who knows what he's doing. Pochettino was creating something special at Chelsea by integrating young players like Jackson with veterans, and it was working. Boehly seems impatient and thinks he knows better.

So what if Jackson missed several chances last season? His gift is raw. Pochettino could've made him a top scorer. But Boehly fires Poch and hires a new guy who may bench Jackson for a showy, expensive player he bought. This is chaos, folks. Boehly's gamble will cost the club and fans.
Todd Boehly is an impatient person while Pochettino is late in making improvements to his team it is only at the end of the season that he does so while throughout the season Pochettino did a very poor job so the board of directors considered whether or not to keep him but obviously Pochettino had to go.

Do you believe Jackson would have been better under Pochettino? But we know Palmer is better than Jackson.
For me he is not a great player needs to adjust again with the new coach Maresca, yes maybe Jackson will shine more with Maresca.

Well I think I will disagree with tedd being a impatient man, I mean did you miss the previous Chelsea owner @abramovich, that man would have fired and even hired more than 3 coaches last season alone due to the poor performance that Chelsea started up with as the season kicked off. But for the case of Jackson, he just needs to up his game and make huge improvement so he can get a chance to play under the new management.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: June 13, 2024, 11:01:31 PM
I completely would agree with you, gambling is not bad for the society, already many sees it as a fun fact to engage in but yet their are those who also abuse it by making it their source of income or getting addicted that ends up draining every penny they have, some might even end up selling off their properties while some will also take loans just to quench their taste for gambling and this has brought about the bad opposition from the society.

Since there are people who do everything that you said then gambling might be bad for the society because all this things are not good for the progress of the society. There are many people abusing gambling and this is not good because this are still the people that stay in the society and they can make the society not to be safe because after gambling all their money, they might end up going to steal and make their society not to be safe which will make investors to stay away from the society because they know that their business will not make sales in a society that is not peaceful and full of crimes. Gambling has alot of negative effects on the society because gambling does more harm to the people gambling tham it will help them as alot of people are only gambling because they want to make money.
There are no good without evil. Everything to do has the positive and negative side of it and it depends on us to choose a side. Gambling cannot be completely bad to the society since there are no literal effect of it. It is the people who gamble that choose to allow it affect them due to there bad habits in gambling. Once the addiction increases and they become irresponsible gamblers that's when their response to things start affecting them and there loved ones including there families.

for me it's because of the bad habits towards it that's why they think it's bad to the society, those set of people who get addicted are the ones which the society give examples of. Gambling have good and bad side but if you look at the bad side you'll think it's not helping in the society, but if you look at the good side then you'll know that gambling is really helping in the society so their is nothing that doesn't have an effect. But you only you chose to know your limits and know the good side of it, that's all about it.
Actually well said my friend and infact it's just that even as people still complain about gambling having a two sided face as humans the negative side will always be the one reflecting more because we are prone to always promoting or getting the best side out of the negative than the positive and that's why no matter how people complain or advice on how gambling can you easily addicted and the ways to go about it so that you won't fall under that group, many people will still fall victim of that side advice and that's just what holds the faith of gambling being seen as negative to the society.

Have you forgotten that Liverpool did not participate in the Champions League this year?  Wink
A place is not guaranteed to anyone, if we were confident in Liverpool it would be an easy +53% per annum. By the way, a change of coach is a very serious factor that can strengthen the team or, on the contrary, weaken it. If I had made an outright bet, I would have chosen a different outcome.

Yeah Liverpool only play in the Europa League because they finished in 5th place last season and that was their worst achievement in the previous 5 seasons, now Liverpool must start everything with a new method and strategy as you said the impact could be better or vice versa. Apart from that, several of Liverpool's mainstay players are heading towards retirement meaning this situation is really not easy and honestly I don't expect more from their performance with a new coach at least in the first season.

Yes, Liverpool’s prospects are vague, but regarding getting into the Champions League there is also a positive option: if England can surpass either Italy or Germany in the UEFA rankings, then there will be 5 spots for EPL. But in any case, restructuring in Liverpool is overdue and it’s good if it takes a couple of seasons. By the way, it will be interesting if City is thrown out of the Premier League, and Liverpool is feverishly rushing to be able to compete with Arsenal... such a season would be interesting to watch.
Well we can only imagine that season to come but it's definitely going to be hard because with pep guadiola still the manager of city it's definitely going to take a very long time before we can even get to see something like that become the era of the day. As it stands now, the premier league is purely fixated in the hands of Manchester city and maybe arsenal because they are the only ones who seems to actually give city a run for the league title.
274  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Where and how to buy bitcoin in 2024. on: June 12, 2024, 10:52:54 PM
Bitcoin is becoming popular in Nigeria and there are many people who are interested to invest in it, but the question they do not know is how to invest or where to invest. The answer is becoming difficult to give them because of how our governments is, and scammers knowing this can take advantage of these people.
We are not so bortherd because because some of us receive stipends from a signature campaigns we often do not bother ourselves we how to get bitcoins for DCA. But with the difficulty with using banks for crypto trading with exchanges, where and how can someone buy bitcoins or other coins?

Well to some extent you are actually right and that's the part about scammers taking advantage of the opportunities but I can guarantee you that they are still lots of CEX out there that still support the use of P2P and one of them I use frequently is bitget.apk, I even bought some few amount of Bitcoin today myself and I do that on a regular basis as I buy and accumulate the coin to a certain amount then after which am content, I move it to my safe wallet for holding purpose.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading or gambling? on: June 12, 2024, 10:45:43 PM
Crypto trading and gambling both have one thing in common and that is risk, not knowing whether you will make profit/win or lose. The difference between them is that gambling is relaxation and entertainment while trading is seriousness and professionalism, you don't need to be a professional to gamble. It takes a short time to understand how to gamble, but trading requires a person to learn fundamental and technical analysis to be able to understand how to make trading decisions. So I think that gambling is easier but it involves more risks while you can control loses in trading, and it makes it less riskier.
gambling is different from trading and this matter has come to this forum severally and the many people have air it out with different reasons and different opinions so what I'm saying is that that thing you see that is similar between gambling and trading is only the risk but when you come in terms of participation you will understand that the gambling is totally different from from trading because trading have a skill that you can operate with and when you learn trading and understanding the principles of trading you will be able to make a good profit but in gambling it cannot learn gambling and the escape risk when you are in totally so that is different thing between gambling and the trading
That's the only thing that gamblers differentiate gambling and trading for me it's the ability of gambling to be actually enjoyed as some form of entertainment but in trading and investment, everything tends to formal and always business minded and the set of persons that mostly term trading and gambling to be one are those traders that actually trade as if they are gambling where as the secret is that you need to learn the act first before you can actually master and get good profitable results in trading.

Mbappé is still young, with a long career ahead of him. So if he performs aggressively from now then he can perform better later. Mbappe can give Real Madrid a good dream because until now the Real Madrid team has been strong enough, then the Real Madrid team has become even stronger due to the addition of Mbappe to the club. And these titles from the present to the future must be won.

Someone mentioned earlier that Mbappé is not a God and I will agree with the person that Mbappé isn't God and I don't think anyone in his or her own mind will assume or think that the player is one. However the guy is doing awesomely in his young age and that has given him the position he currently hold in the hearts of many football lovers. Mbappé is promising and always try to come through and deliver in his capacity as a striker and his ability to run in a great speed is a good skill for him to always utilize.

Yes mbappe must not be God for People to see that his performance is still showing at his young age, for comparing human with not is not a corrolated comparison, mbappe still all it take to go fat in the game if football he age is still favourable for him, him joining real Madrid is a good move , the game style of Madrid and their style of wining game can push him far.

The young man is full of energy to exercise and u don't think his going to slack in making the people proud if people around him truly works as a team because he can't do it alone no matter the energy.

Well I would like to also be in full support and also have positive anticipation as everyone seems to be so hyped about mbappe performances and how perfect this club will be with the addition of his presence and playing time at Real Madrid but I would also like to point out a fact that it's very much possible for mbappe to have a bad start or even a full career at Real Madrid despite the fact that he is very good and all that , I mean there are players who have also join Real Madrid like the way he did and also did not perform well so the hype is actually too much.
277  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can Bitcoin help to reduce crime? on: June 11, 2024, 11:53:57 PM
Ever since Bitcoin was introduced in our country, it has been a huge help to us by providing job opportunities, etc.

It has help us eradicate poverty, that is we can be earning through it by working online such as this Bitcointalk, and also it has help reduce crime in our society today, because assuming Bitcoin was never introduce or we don't have the idea of Bitcoin in our society today, the high rate of crime would have been something else but with this Bitcoin now, which has been helping the people to eradicate poverty from our family.
Oga your point is very valid there especially for we country like this, I mean it's not easy at all to even get to start to think about what might have been if only Bitcoin was not here, there are so many ways in which Bitcoin has helped this society of our especially in the aspect of eradicating poverty and financial issues. Many of the youth today that would have caused problems for people due to not having good jobs are now fully involved the crypto space earning a living through different ways that involves the use of Bitcoin or other crypto currency as a whole.

Manchester United are still dancing around linking coaches and at the same time making the man Erik ten Heg to feel they want to keep him as the manager of UTD next season, to be honest I feel Manchester United board are being disrespectful with there indecision. Erik ten Heg deserve more than what they're giving him at this point because how can they make him feel he's the man for the job and at the same time he isn't?
At least let them tell the players, the fans and everyone who needs to know if Erik ten Heg is going to be in charge next season because other managers in the EPL have already started making plans on how they're going to begin the season and the players to sign and sell but UTD are still drawing maps that lead to nowhere, I just feel this is an act of disrespect to the man ten Heg. What do you think is the main problem with the Red Devils board on this issue concerning Erik ten Heg?
Ten Hag is not bad in my opinion, but it is the depth of Manchester United's squad that needs to be improved. They need a better defense, midfielders and attackers than they currently have, but that is the big obstacle so far. Management seems unable to do that for Ten Hag, even though they have to have full confidence in the plans that are being built.

I don't know what they're worried about if Ten Hag gets this job any longer. Basically, we have got a lot of evidence that Ten Hag is a good coach, but the lack of support and trust within the team seems to make his team's performance shaky. It's not good to fire and replace managers in the short term, it's bad for player psychology.

Ten Hag is not a bad coach but he couldn't get the good result they wanted to see in Manchester United and he also had a bad relationship with some players. In fact, he does very hard training for players and people say he will even punish players if they have bad performances which makes players to think he is a bad coach when he is not. I think Ten Hag can even stay there in Manchester United for a longer time because of the performance he has there.

I don't really understand the context of what you then refer to as a bad coach because from what I know, a coach is definitely supposed to have good relationship and closeness with his players and if one or two players under performed in a match I don't feel that giving them extra training or like you said yourself "hard training" is actually the right solution because in a team once their is no good understanding between the players and the coach the whole set seems to not work even if the coach is very good at what he is doing and this is exactly the case with ten hag at Manchester united.

The rumors that are starting to circulate might come true, Guardiola has succeeded in raising the Premier League with various trophies that have been presented to Manchester City, he has also become the first coach to win the EPL trophy four times in a row. His contract with The Cityzen will soon expire, Manchester City certainly doesn't want to lose one of the best coaches who has succeeded in making new history for the club after winning the UCL trophy.
A new contract offer will soon be prepared in order to keep Guardiola with them longer, but the decision remains with Guardiola whether he wants to continue his career with Manchester City or not. Maybe he has another mission after successfully conquering the EPL, such as moving to Serie A to win several titles there.

The last time Guardiola participated in real competition was in Barcelona, where he was kicked out by Mourinho Grin For me, it is extremely doubtful that he will take on any project where titles will not be guaranteed, even taking into account the last two seasons in Serie A where teams became champions in a dominant style there is serious competition.
First, he will wait until the fight between the League and City ends. If the cheaters win, then there will be no point in leaving.
One thing about the man is that he loves winning and that's why he always finds the perfect job and I doubt he is ready to leave or even the Manchester city themselves are ready to let him go. The man is an example of pure brilliance and he has shown it almost everywhere he has managed by winning enough trophies for the teams he managed and he still has age on his side so he will definitely enjoy the glory days he is enjoying at Manchester city.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cash out or let it ride? on: June 11, 2024, 10:08:49 PM
Cashing game out sometime can be very hard to do, lets say you placed a bet and the ones that is ongoing ( live) has entered remaining one and that one that is remaining is a game you trust so much at this point in time it will be very difficult to press cash out. I have been in that point several time only for me to cashout was a big deal for me because I wasn't looking at the cashout I was looking at the potential winning ( total payout) and at the end it always cut and I will still say next time I see this kind of cash out I will cash out, i will still see the cash out yet I won't do it. Cash out is very hard decision to make mostly when game is remaining one and you trust them very well, but to an extent I was seeing it as greed yes, why will someone play bet will 1000 to win 120k and they showed you cash out of 50k and you said you don't want to take it because you trust the remaining game, my question now is are you the one that will play the game and even if you are the one that will play it will you be able to play exactly what you predicted. Even if the game will play finish at least you didn't make any loss if you have taken the 50k, I know most people will regret but some people won't reason it.
I think you are right because this Cash out of a thing is always very hard for one to take decision because once it comes to Cash out we normally have double thought and sometimes we normally end up being regret, just like me when ever I place a bet I normally find it difficult to do cash out because I always have a strong feeling that the game we play finished although at last I normally end up being regretted, however I think we should always try as much as possible to do some cash out anytime we notice that our game have gone far to avoid being regret at end of the day.

I think we all experience the same thing about that situation like deciding when to cash out can be tough and often causes second thoughts and regrets. For example, when I place a bet I find it hard to cash out because I always think the game will end well, but then regret not cashing out later. It's always important to have try to cash out once the game is well underway to avoid this such disappointment/regrets.
I have a friend who believes that as a gambler we ought not to cash out because he feels there is no essence in doing that as even the act of gambling is based on the fact of risk taking and that's why he doesn't ever cashes out. He always feel a bit down when he cashes out his game and the full game then later played out for him.
