261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Remote rig resetting tool with PoE and relay switch on: September 12, 2017, 05:41:29 PM
Soo as I promised here are the latest updates.
From the time I posted this I was looking for cheap and easy solution for my rigs to manage, because sometimes it's a huge pain in the ass to get up and drive 30 mins to restart frozen rig.
You can see the road here I've been on and the last one really did the great job and I want to share it with you.

So here is the 16 channel relay itself (cables for motherboards with pins and buttons are not yet connected)

This device comes with windows software and ios/android app also, they are easy to use and very handy, here are some pics from android and win:

And the cables, I decided to make the cables the way that I will be able to reboot them manually with button and from the relay too, so they look like this:

The side that's not on thi pic connects to relay and pins to mobo, also there is a button for manual restarting on powering the rig on.
Here are also cables I ripped of to do this:

This thing aint smart, so it can't reboot the rig automatically, but anyways who needs it?! I myself prefer to log in after freeze and see what caused it, check the logs etc.. So who needs it right? When you have VPN connection (btw this device also connects to remote server).

The only thing I can't do myself is to configure zabbix to get in depth understandings on what's going on on farm, so anyone able to help is welcome. I have zabbix up and running but zero experience with it, but I'm pretty sure it will be the key to the 99% automation of my and my clients farms.
Cheers guys, anyone who found this useful you are welcome.

p.s. anyone interested in links of products on this pictures I can share them here or in PM

Ok...why not just get one of these things?
http://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/cat-5516_HS110.html

Been using it for months now. Download the app on your phone and you will have remote reboot functionality and a power meter to calculate usage/cost.

The cost.,
I have to manage 100+ rigs

nice, it's difficult for me to buy a  manageable poe switch.
just wait a bit I'll post in couple hours
cheers

I really want to see this!!  Thanks!

update ? thanks Smiley also can you explain a little bit with pictures / details how did u exactly connect the relay / PoE switch and  power button on motherboard ? thanks
after I will get all three options up and running I'll do a detailed review with pics and etc.

so here are some updates

I tested three versions, first one is 16 channel relay + arduino and ethernet shield, I managed the code, but in real it is not as useful as it seems, in fact the only problem it has is that if the power switches off and on again all the relay modules will do the same, it means all the rigs will be reseted.
the second one is the same 16 channel relay with web server module http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ethernet-Control-Module-LAN-Network-WEB-Server-RJ45-Port-w-16-Channel-Relay-im-/182743044318?hash=item2a8c5590de:g:OCQAAOSwTUVZqPyE it arrived couple days ago and is in testing process, it works great at first sight, but when I changed the ip to meet my local network range after couple hours it stops responding, under this I mean that I can ping it, but when I'm trying to open it in browser it shows error, also if I try to connect to it with wrong port it shows 401 error which in fact means that the module is working, but I haven't figured out yet were is the problem. Anyways I have it and it will be tested fully on this weekend.
Third and last option is this module from China https://wholesaler.alibaba.com/product-detail/Industrial-Ethernet-16-Channel-Output-TCP_60608346610.html I ordered it couple days ago and it should arrive in 2 days, I will update info about it as soon as I get my hands on

still have warranty? mean need claim to warranty first. don't open seal.  Smiley
most of them are from last August.
Anyways I'm sending the boards once every two month or so, also since now is September and temps are going down they will last another year I guess..

Thank you ))

I've come to a new, better solution, 33$ for 16-miners at a time.
I'll update news by the end of the day
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: August 30, 2017, 02:04:12 PM
First of all I want to say that I'm using awesomeminer to monitor 10+ S9s and after 6+ month of using it I'm more than happy that I have this software, thanks to developers and awesome team building a thing like this.

Question time:
SO far with S9s all is good, now I want to test it on my GPU rigs, considering that I have clusters of GPU farms (20; 50; 250 rigs).
The only issue with GPU farms after these years is that some of them needs to be restarted after they freeze. I'm using for it custom build relay modules, you can telnet to it and reboot any rig it is connected to. So I was wondering if awesomeminer can monitor the GPU rig and use a trigger after some kind of alarm, lets say if hashrate drops for some time can it restart the rig from the bat file or simply just trigger a bat file? And second one is that if it can directly  connect to my relay module with telnet and run the command? And last one, I'm pretty sure I have to install some kind of client software on the rig itself right?

i cant even change memory clock and core clock after installing beta driver..
install afterburners beta version and you'll be able to change them

I tested it on RX4xx, RX5xx and on some older versions, so far so good

btw here's the beta of AB

can you be more specific? what more functionality you need that awesomeminer won't handle?
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH onto Ledger Nano S on: August 14, 2017, 12:09:36 AM
Hello again,

Is it possible to use my ledger nano S address in my batch file to send my ETH there from ethermine?
Cheers
100% you can do it
272  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9/T9 overheating issues and solutions on: August 04, 2017, 04:30:52 PM
Yes they should be fine.
You know, this subject of temps has been beaten to death in the Official Bitmain s9 thread. It has been questioned ever since they were introduced over 1.5 years ago... I suggest you scan through it.
I did it when I got my first batches in August of last year and since then they increased a lot, that's why I was asking about it. Anyways thanks for your answers and time of course.

My suggestion would be to set the fan setting at 100% and see if it makes a difference. I had to do this to a couple Batch 4 units in order to keep the temps in the 80's
I will try to do that but I was afraid not to burn them, in fact I have couple fans in reserve

Edited:
So i made fans to work on 100%. with freq 400 I get around 77-82 degree when outside temp is around 32-33 degrees. With freq 600 I get around 90-96 degrees on boards. When I adjust fans to normal and let the miner decide on freq 400 I get around 82-85 and on freq 600 I got a bit higher temps 92-98. so no big deal, but still I'm afraid to leave them run at these temps, don't know may be I'm wrong and it's ok to do so

You cannot compare older models to newer ones like that. These things have gone through around 28 batches/versions and Bitmain tweaks something different with every one. The old ones run hot because of how the speeds and Vcore are setup and unless you have ones before batch-16 there is nothing that we can change.

While certainly pushing it and not ideal, I have some s9 batch-1 and 3's that have ran 100-C and often a bit higher since day-1. They still run perfect so frankly I wouldn't fret over it.
so you say that if I leave them alone to run at 90+ degrees I won't harm them? I did my best to reduse that temps but summertime kills it
275  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9/T9 overheating issues and solutions on: August 04, 2017, 12:58:08 PM
So I think I'll try to remove heat sinks and replace the thermal glue, let's see if it helps or not, the reason is that I can't think of another solution
Sure. Go ahead and DESTROY your miner....

It is a thermal epoxy that is used and it does not age or otherwise 'go bad'. It is also very difficult to remove the sinks and if you have not done board rework before odds are you will rip off the chips as well.

Paste only has issues because with cheap paste the wet part of it (Xytol) drys out and that drastically lowers the thermal conductivity. Thermal adhesives do not do that.
I can't think of other reason why they are overheating that much, last batches are working like a charm. Ok I got it I won't remove them and won't try to replace thermal glue, but what else can be done ?
276  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Large Order at BitMAIN (Guys need your help) on: August 04, 2017, 09:15:31 AM

•I have preordered Antminer D3, Payment method by bank
•Should the bank account be in my name? Or does not it matter that the account is in the name of the beneficiary?

it is better to transfer funds from your name, but if you provide payment paper than you are ok, I've done it several times without any issues, I was just uploading payment paper every time to their support just to be sure everything is fine

But what does this message mean, in Bitmain Order Detail?
(IMPORTANT!: if the beneficiary name is incorrect, our bank cannot assign the funds to our account)
it means you should double check transaction, beneficiary name means bitmain's name, bitmain technologies limited

thank you bro  Smiley
So it can transfer funds to Bitmain account without importance if the bank account is mine or someone else
yeap, just don't forget to mention order number
