A lot of bad people use cash. A lot of bad people use Visa. I do not think we can sanitize cash, credit cards or Bitcoin. People you will not like, who have done things you don't like, or even have done illegal things will use Bitcoin. That is the way it is.
Exactly, no need to factor in things like past history when dealing with investments in new currencies and screw taking a second and allowing yourself to rightfully judge a business based on it's advertising choices. Sorry, I do not believe in guilt by association.

either way your saying since Rush Limbaugh pop'd pills he shouldn't be allowed to use bitcoins? interesting logic you have there ...
It would be ridiculous to think that Bruce should be prevented from using bitcoin. I have no problem with that. I have a problem with him promoting and recommending bitcoin services. He has already recommended one that has stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin. About mybitcoin: There is no way we will find a conclusive answer, but from what I have seen this looks like a possibility. This is not fact, it is conjecture: -He sets up MyBitcoin (using the same obscure host as OnlyOneTV- a big coincidence) -Promotes it on many of his shows -Astroturf-promotes it with the name T** Williams (which he had previously used to astroturf for Bold Funding) -He decides he wants to cash out, so he takes the site down. -He cries and moans about how he just lost an amount of money approximately equal to the total deposits people have put into MyBitcoin -He says he is in contact with the FBI to make people feel like the theft has already been reported (someone said they called the FBI and they have no record of Wagner) -He puts the site back up, allowing people to redeem 49% of their deposits -He keeps the rest, claiming it was his part of the 49% being returned There you have it. A free pile of money that no one can prove you stole. If he is still recommending sites on his show, why should anyone think those businesses are legit? The guy has a horrible track record. Stick to the mortgage fraud, there is a paper trail and conviction. The stuff above just makes you look stupid.

You are paying to be on the tiny show of an ostracized pedophile and convicted fraudster?
Welcome to the big league.
Oh stop trolling already and grow up. Because if I was more mature, I wouldn't be concerned that Bitcoin's poster-boy is an ephebophile (thx rassah ) who has been convicted of mortgage fraud? Every day he remains a spokesperson for Bitcoin hurts our reputation. I understand that it feels exciting to "be on TV", but you shouldn't be taking attention from a creep and a crook as such a compliment. Every person who adds to his page-views lets him stay in the limelight for a little bit longer. He wanted to have a Bitcoin conference in Pattaya, the underage sex capital of the world! You can read posts he made giving tips on buying young virgin boy prostitutes. Is that the person we want representing the rest of us who use Bitcoin? If you believe his story that it was an innocent mistake, you are incredibly naive. Was he connected to MyBitcoin.com 51% theft? Wouldn't be the first time he took a bunch of people's money and never returned it. Furthermore, he has been convicted of defrauding people of their money! I don't care how many excuses or apologies you give, you are still a sketchy guy who no rational person should trust. Unless you want Bitcoin to be known as the currency for underage prostitutes and hiding money stolen through fraud, stop supporting Bruce Wagner. I don't know what your social circle is like Yankee, but most of the world doesn't want to associate with people who pay for sex with children. Why are you defending him? While you I guess I am just feeding the troll.... A lot of bad people use cash. A lot of bad people use Visa. I do not think we can sanitize cash, credit cards or Bitcoin. People you will not like, who have done things you don't like, or even have done illegal things will use Bitcoin. That is the way it is.

If you know how to program modern FPGA systems, you live in the USA, and your salary is not north of $100k..... There are some good job opportunities out there in the financial world.

I'm not charged fees to pay with a credit card. The merchant pays fees to accept them. Why not have the merchant pay the $3 fee?
The $3 is once a month. Once a month is a lot more often then never. The point is, just use a credit card if you do not have the money and pay it off at the end of the month. That would be just as useful as what Dwolla is offering. I agree, the fee is not too high, but I still have no idea why I would need to use that service.

I just got an email from Darren at TradeHill. Great work guys! This is excatly the way things should happen with customer suppoer. Thank you very much for answering questions as well as informing your customers as to status of the situation.
Thank you

I am pretty disappointed if Dwolla's new feature is instant money. That is no big deal it's following behind the footsteps of Paypal except it cost money to enroll in instant money. I really don't see the advancement in Dwolla with this. Just a step behind is what I see.
It looks like that was it. Yawn.

While Dwolla's instant ACH can be nice for some (and might hurt others), it is not a big deal. This is not a new innovation nor is it even an unexpected or cool feature. Simply put, it is not big.

I deposited some BTC last night and had the same bug as you guys. Emailed them, got a response in about an hour, BTC in my account about an hour after that. I wouldn't worry.
I wonder why you get your coins in one hour, and I do not after (nearly) 4 business days. A last in first out que for customer support?

I don't see why the buyer's view of GLBSE has anything to do with what happens?
Take the money from them, then use a portion to buy back shares. Can you give us some idea of how much they are offering? I think you still hold a bunch of shares, are you weighing your shares equal to the investor shares? (Did you really put in the money/time to claim all those shares)
Well even more to the point.... This really is not a bargaining point for shareholders.... They own and deserve whatever percentage of the money that comes in for that sale. The holder of the company can keep some for expansion etc, but anything he personally takes according to his share of ownership, he must give to the other shareholders according to their share of ownership. If you take in lets say $10,000 and own half of the shares... then take as a personal payout $5000... You need to distribute the remaining $5000 to the other shareholders.

I'm a bit disappointed at this. Wikipedia was a disruptive technology desperately trying to find ways to bootstrap itself, not even a decade ago. Back in 2004-2005 large organizations didn't take Wikipedia seriously just like Wikipedia doesn't take Bitcoin seriously now. Wikipedia also had to face their fair share of excrement being slung at them from the mainstream media, when they were new. They should know what it's like. Why don't they give Bitcoin a chance? It isn't any more of a hassle accepting Bitcoin than accepting other non-monetary donations. Ideologically, Bitcoin and Wikipedia are quite similar and could benefit each other tremendously.
Legal requirements for being a registered charity exclude Bitcoin. Laws exclude Bitcoin. Not at all. Laws may (possibly) forbid or make it hard to claim a tax deduction of money given via bitcoin but not make it illegal to accept bitcoin. If wikipedia is willing to accept it, someone could give them a house, a VHS copy of TJ Hooker, something virtual or even a commitment of work.

From what I have read.....
A 1024 Qbit computer would take about 1000 years to break a key. This is much better then the millions of years all of the computers on the planet combined would take so it is revolutionary. It just does not threaten bitcoin yet. With the rate of growth in quantum computing, bitcoin will need to be upgraded, and it should be done before five years. After five years, quantum key breaking may start to enter the relm of possibility for large institutions.

Everything has not been fixed, I deposited yesterday and still no coins in my account, not even pending.
According to blockexplorer they were received without a problem, but there is no sign of them in my account.
Same problem here. Deposit made and not in my account. No response to multiple emails to Tradehill over the past two business days.

Glad they confirmed it. I wish it was a more obvious space on the page but it is what it is. I just donated, I have found archive.org to be useful a number of times!

Is that 'electric furnace' a heat pump type or coil type?
It's a coil type. I wish I had thought of this before. Now I can leave on all the lights and appliances I want. Resistance electric heating (coil type) is very expensive to run. A heat pump uses about 1/3 the electricity for the same heat unless you are pretty far north. There are now window AC units with true heat pumps in them for under $1000. They may pay for themselves in one heating season.

because i would like bitcoins not cash, sure i can sell it on my ebay account and i might just have to do that. if i don't find a buy here, but after you take paypal fees, depsit fees from my bank then bitcoin fees i end up with about the same as just asking 200 for the phone on here in bitcoins
No, not really. If you sell on eBay for the average rate $330, you will net $300. I have no idea why you would want to sell it for that much less. That is why I offered you more then what your asking price was, and I will pay in BTC.

I also should have a solution for re-loadable VISA cards. Mine will probably not be automated. If all goes right I will be live in two weeks.
