So Malin Keshar seems to be insinuating that you *do* have to enter an SMS code in order to withdrawal (or perhaps I misunderstand him).

Hello,
I just want to ask in which date the first week count will end.
Is it today or the next Tuesday?
Sorry if it is stated already.
Thanks!
BR
Gondel

Posts are already being counted. 30% complete atm.
Once counted, it will be forwarded to devthdev who will release the funds.

Thank you Smiley

I think it would be great if you would set a UTC deadline each week whereupon you count all the posts before it in the previous week and all after in the next week.  That would help your posters follow along with respect to their own post count.  For example, I don't know if you've already started counting my posts so its hard to tell whether my posts today will be counted as last week or as next week.  Do you know what I mean by this?
2643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Breakout incoming! on: March 10, 2015, 02:39:06 PM
I find it strange OKcoin is now the exchange with the largest USD volume of trades. OKcoin led the rally last night but the Chinese themselves complain that the volume on there is mostly fake.

Yah, I've also heard that most of the volume on that exchange is not real.  I wouldn't use that evidence to support the breakout theory.

Really? You open a topic claiming to restrict the people to post iand to turn to turn the forum a "circle of commons" and now I'm a totalitarian?

This quote is ideal for you:

Quote
«Solamente los débiles eluden la confrontación con hombres que no piensan como ellos. Ninguno de los estadistas de las grandes naciones occidentales rehúsan hablar con los dirigentes de los países comunistas. Nosotros no queríamos ser jamás gobernantes de un pueblo que tiene miedo de confrontar sus ideas con otras ideas».

Translating:

Only the debils elude the confrontation with men who don't think like them. None of the statesmen of the big occidental nations refuse to talk with the chairpersons of communist countries. We never wouldn't want to be rulers of a people who has fear of confronting their ideas with other ideas.

Arturo Frondizi (President of Argentina between 1958-1962)

Just want to help out with that translation: "debils" --> "the weak"; "the big occidental" --> "the large Western nations"; "We never wouldn't want" --> "We would never want"

Cheers!

Indeed, I think that would be a good thing.  I don't know if they'd agree to it and I can't join their campaign since I'm not willing to give out a mobile number---so it's no skin off my nose personally.  But if I were enrolled, I think I would be demanding something like this since it amounts to a subtraction from the advertized rate (unless, as you say, they go ahead and pay it for you).
2646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: March 09, 2015, 04:50:38 PM
Funny that this thread got revived after so long dead.  Basically, if anyone really wants to know the deal with martingale, they should read the wikipedia page about it.  It lays out the math and the facts pretty straightforwardly in my opinion.

I mean you can see a lot of strategies on the wikipedia and how they all fall, i dont think martingale is that bad of a strategy its just that strategies dont work

I think that more or less all gambling "strategies" rely on somethink like martingale---lowering or raising your bet based on local probability estimates.  Nevertheless, I think the wikipedia article does the job of showing just why these "strategies" are really based on fallacy.  That doesn't mean that gambling isn't fun though!

Thanks for the info, redisn0w.  Someone else had mentioned that bit-x was sending text messages whenever they wanted to withdrawal, I thought, but maybe I misunderstood.  IMO, the 0.5% fee should be subtracted from the advertized pay rates of the campaign since you can't really get your btc to your wallet without paying the fee.

Wouldn't it be true that a few posts with your sig in the other campaign threads will keep people realizing that your campaign is active and possibly they will want to join?  Do you see what I mean, a few posts in campaign threads might be helpful to you, right?

Yeah. But my point is, I certainly don't like many bit-x posters posting here on our thread. So, I think others might feel so too if we post on their thread. Wink

You know, like, don't do things that you don't want them to do to you.

Right, the "golden rule" or something like it. I've heard of this. Smiley
2649  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: March 09, 2015, 04:11:34 PM
What do you think are the biggest issues with SwC Poker right now?

[we know you want the mac / linux / android clients.  I'm looking for game issues, general things you'd like to see, maybe something you are missing from Seals that you feel belongs on SwC]

Maybe one thing for me would be the ability to withdraw less than 0.02 BTC and instant withdrawals.
0.02 is not a suitable limit for microstake players. it feels like being told, either lose all your BTC on the site, or try and make 10x the amount you are depositing.

.02 is still a relatively small amount of value, and was implemented on Seals to prevent "transaction attacks" in that if we lowered the withdraw amount to a satoshi, one could make many small withdraws to make us incur transaction fees and make many bitcoin network transactions.

SwC will be a proper home for micro-stakes players.  As you can tell, I've left on "no rake microstakes" as I believe it's proper to forgo the small income a site can rake on the absolute lowest limits & offer the players a no-fee, micro-buy-in test of new games.

the withdraw minimum may be lowered in the future, but right now we are too busy improving other areas of the site to look at it today.

Good points Micon, however, at a standard transaction fee of 0.00001 (1KSat) you might still lower your withdrawal quite a bit without having the transaction spam issue you were talking about.  Perhaps 0.01 would be a relatively nice compromise.  As a small/micro stakes player myself I've definitely run into the issue of winning 15 or so chips and thinking oh, I'll withdrawal --- nope!  I never really minded just leaving the chips on there as a bankroll but I think the guy has a point about the fact that you can deposit 1 chip but can't withdrawal until you hit 20.  That does seem lopsided.

As for what's missing on the site---what used to be there that isn't anymore---it's me!

2651  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: March 09, 2015, 03:36:14 PM
the payout will depends on your constructive post counts, if you are able to make 1000 constructive post / week, according to the thread, they will pay for 1.6 BTC for your rank because it is mention that there is no limit the to the post count

I doubt ill be able to do that. I only made 39 posts in the last 30 days. So if only constructive posts are taken and 1000 of them for 1.6btc... then this would mean actual real hard work and the payment wouldnt be worth it then. I only would think about it when i dont really have to change my behaviour very much. Up to 100 posts are possible for sure though i wonder if constructive isnt a very stretchy term anyway. Is constructive needed for the other campaigns too? I mean i cant imagine someone sitting there, reading all posts and decide which is constructive. Smiley

If you can do a little over 50 choose a fixed rate like Luckybit (0.125). More than 100 choose a pay per post like bit x (0.16 for hundred but you can make much more than that but posting that much is no easy task as you mentioned). Constructive basically means just don't spam or post pointless rubbish for the sake of it. I've had a quick look over your posts and all or most should be fine and counted as 'constructive' so you probably would be ok if you just continued on as normal providing you made the minimum 50 posts for payout.

I think ill see if bit-x works since i dont really want to post more than i normally would do. Though now i wonder if they have a limit regarding a minimum. I posted in their thread now and see what they see.

I think that the only trouble with these guys is that they require a mobile phone number in order to create an account on their website and they only pay to accounts on their website---not to your personal btc address.  Apparently withdrawal from their website also requires that you reply to a text message.  I don't know if there are withdrawal fees.

You do the tasks and get rewarded. Lowest is 20-bits (or 2000 satoshis). Some longer tasks (can be done in 3 minutes) pays 200-bits (or 20000 satoshis).
I've been getting paid pretty promptly. At exactly 9:56pm each night (PST). No transaction fees.

Right now PrimeDice gives 200 satoshis if you start from 0. But transaction fee is 0.00010000. Going from 200 satoshis to 10000 just to pay transaction... my word... good luck...

Yah, but primedice isn't set up as a giveaway site, it's a betting site where you can deposit money and win money.  If you are just working from the faucet to try to withdrawal, as you say, good luck!

Also, now this is the second time I've heard someone talking about "bits" as if it was a unit of some number of satoshis.  What's up with this confusing practice?
2653  Other / Meta / Re: Marcotheminer the Ban Evader on: March 08, 2015, 07:13:05 AM
I'm sure BadBear does or is keeping a close eye on this situation or will investigate it at least. He'll probably be able to tell if the account was sold or not or whether it looks that way (though you could easily 'fake' a sale I suppose - change the password and use tor or something).

Thanks for keeping us up to date from the moderators point of view.  It will be interesting to see what badbear has to say about this whenever he has the chance to weigh-in.
2654  Economy / Services / Re: [dadice] DaDice.com Signature Campaign - The Best Campaign Yet! | JOIN THE FUN! on: March 08, 2015, 07:11:19 AM
Just another update: Posts in other campaigns will not be counted from next week. However, it is not encouraged to post in other campaign threads though it will be counted for this week.

Current rules apply.

Obviously I don't want to put many posts in the the sig-campaign threads since you want to reach customers in other threads yet I ask, because it seems relevant:

Wouldn't it be true that a few posts with your sig in the other campaign threads will keep people realizing that your campaign is active and possibly they will want to join?  Do you see what I mean, a few posts in campaign threads might be helpful to you, right?
2655  Economy / Gambling / Re: Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC? on: March 08, 2015, 06:45:13 AM
Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC?

Do you mean the admin of the gambling site or the "player" ? Only a few people has made a lot of money on the gambling the site , but all know that at the end is only a question of luck (and the site will win at 99% of the times).

I mean the player. I am doing this because I am tired of seeing posts like "I can't repay my loan for a few days because I lost .xxx BTC gambling", etc. I am trying to show people just how easy it is to lose money gambling, and hard to win.

So, in my opinion, taking out a loan in order to gamble is a big mistake.  So is gambling with money you owe someone else.  I gamble BTC and I tend to lose more than I win (as is the rule) but I do it with my own money in order to have a little fun playing this or that game.  I consider the money I gamble to be the price of the fun and if I win something then it's a bonus.  People who are doing what you are saying are being irresponsible, IMO.
2656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are no anonymous altcoins being widely utilized? on: March 08, 2015, 06:38:28 AM
It seems like there is a big demand for anonymity, and not just for nefarious purposes. The altcoins which offer anonymity, ranging from Anoncoin to the CryptoNote coins, have never really taken off. The ability to make anonymous transactions with any number of altcoins is available, but nobody seems to be using them on a sizable scale.

So, why do no altcoins which feature anonymity have a price over 10 USD? And why are they not more widely utilized? And please, let's not turn this into another "why X altcoin is better than Y altcoin" thread: I would just like to know why none of them have been widely utilized.

Disclosure: I have a handful of each of the CryptoNote coins and Anoncoins, but mainly use/invest in BTC.

Thanks for your opinions.

I think one of the main issues is that altcoins aren't being adopted in general.  I mean sure, there are a few which have found some niche (doge on reddit, ltc has some uses).  But in general there aren't too many people using cryptos and of those who do use cryptos like 99% of are using BTC.  Then there's the questions about the conditions of some of these "innovative" alts which are areally just premined pump-n-dumps.  I think that's my best answer to your question.

@safari88 congrats on the win.  Please update when your withdrawal goes through.  I'm keeping an eye on this xbt jackpot place ever since I never even got a code from them.

I am not sure they would pay that much from the free code, because I've read the same case in another thread

If that's the case then it would pretty much mean tht this casino is not legit in any way.  A casino has to be willing to pay you on a big win if they are willing to take your money on a big loss.

I personally don't trust staff members with alt accounts that aren't known to the public.

Just for the record, if a staff member has alt accounts that aren't known to the public then how would you know not to trust them.  Seems like one of these--- I don't like what I see when I look in the mirror with my eyes closed ---kinda paradoxes.

Do mods post judgments in threads like this or are they just here for us to kick around our ideas in?  That is, I appreciate the discussion, but I'm curious what the authority figures around us are saying about this.
