Oh man, I thought I fixed everything. Will change everything right now. Thanks arallmuus!

EDIT: Aaaaand done!

Bitstarz campaign is open to legendary participants as well.  Smiley

are there any campaigns that refuse Legendary Huh

Some forget to explicitly say they accept, but pay them as Hero or whatever is the highest pay rate

Yah, as far as I know, legendary rank is purely cosmetic.  There's no bigger signature or faster posting rights or anything else.  It's just a little nod to older accounts (with the fun of randomness added in---which seems appropriate, imo, for bitcoin).  Anyway, I don't know why anyone would treat legendary any different than hero when it comes to payments.

Russian chat broke down Wink
everything seems to work for me just fine do you still have any problems with it or it was just temporary issues?

If you refresh, then yes, it shows you the "russian" language, but when you actually type inside "привет" this is what you get.

I wonder if it's some kind of encoding problem?  HTTP is notoriously ascii unless you send a header saying some other charset.  I dunno, I'm just guessing.  Still, strange this would pop up out of nowhere like this, right?
1644  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 28, 2015, 06:56:31 AM
Following is a problem I had with vanitygen, not sure whether I did something wrong and or whether this is something that may happen from time to time...

a) I generated 5 Doge addresses making use of the oclvanity command and the -X 30 -e parameters to generate a addresses with encrypted private keys.

b) Some coins were sent to the one address and all seemed fine (luckily only about $1)

c) I used the keyconv command with the -X 30 parameter to decrypt the encrypted private key which worked without any problems and it gave me the correct Doge address

d) I tried to import the private key of this address into a Dogechain wallet but it does not accept the private key. Tried the Wif and Hex versions of the private key

e) Tried the Doge paper wallet generator where you enter the Wif/Hex keys and get details on the address and tried the other formats of the private key but none seems to work...

The above only happened with the one address, the other 4 all worked fine and I've been able to import them without problems. Is this something that happens or something I did wrong and if so how do I prevent this from happening or should I just test every address before use to make sure they work 100%?

I had no idea that vanitygen worked for any coin other than bitcoin.  Wish I could help?  Also, isn't keyconv command part of an external python lib?  Seems like there are several possible points of failure here.

Yes it works for other coins as well. You just need to make use of the -X parameter together with the right code for the specific kind of address you want to create. For example: Litecoin is -X 48, Doge -X 30, Dash -X 76 etc... So your command will look something like - c:\vanitygen -v -X 30 D8Test

See this reply to my earlier post for links to a site that will give you the codes:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804.msg11399708#msg11399708

Thanks, I never saw that parameter before (but then again, I'm not into altcoins).  Still, I'm right that keyconv is a separate python package, right?  That's not part of vanitygen is it?
1645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoind debian setup on: May 27, 2015, 09:36:03 PM

Actually, you can just use a single term session.  Just kick off bitcoind in the background:

Code:
bitcoind &

(see http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/103731/run-a-command-without-making-me-wait for a little more detail)
If you don't want the process to end when you shut down your terminal session, start it with nohup:

Code:
nohup bitcoind &

If you built from source, you can run:
Code:
sudo make install

This will copy the relevant executables into a systemwide accessible location that is already in a user's path by default.  Of course, you could certainly do as you mentioned and export $PATH to include the path to the binaries in the src directory from the build.

Indeed, make install definitely seems like the more normal thing to do.  OP didn't comment on why he didn't run make install and I just thought I'd follow up on the question about why the "./" (because what you're trying to run isn't on your $PATH).
1646  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: May 27, 2015, 09:33:14 PM
imho this madness is actually somehow connected with possibility to buy and sell accounts. potential buyers are buying those acc for:

1* scam other because others simply believe them - they are here so long with positive trust and history
2* ROI - yes, this sounds really stupid but for sure somebody is buying accs just for longterm profir from sig. campaign (without any bitcoin interest at all, just for "profit")

there are not so many ways how to deal with it, except more strict moderation and focus to some "special" examples. don't want to mention them here, but they are guys with more then 14k posts within two years or 6k within year..

Actually, Stunna ended the pay-per-post signature ad campaign quite a while ago (about 8 months?).  Those that are still wearing the sig are just doing so for the ref link, or out of love for Stunna, or both.  I don't think anyone is getting paid-per-post for that ad anymore.

1647  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 27, 2015, 09:24:26 PM
Would be cool if you could use a Miner to find addresses.
Would, but (for ASIC-based ones) you can't - physically impossible.  Probably covered numerous times in this thread already, so hit up the search if you'd like to learn more Smiley

Well, I believe that search is temporarily disabled.  But, FWIW, I'm one of the people you explained this to above.  The sha256 algo used to mine blocks just isn't the same procedure as the one to find and address.  So, alas, even our old stick miners can't help us here.
1648  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recent dadice.com development on: May 27, 2015, 09:18:54 PM
I am watching this thread rather heavily in anticipation of me updating the Overview of Popular Bitcoin Gambling Websites thread and bringing it back up to standard soon. So essentially, you think they're just going to make a runner? The images you have in the OP are rather telling and indicative of an issue.

In my opinion, it's hard to tell whether the behavior of dadice is actually shady (ie, indicative of someone about to do a runner) or merely reflective of someone who feels like they're being pushed around.  That is, out of nowhere, all sorts of folks started demanding all sorts of proof about their bankroll.  At first, several competitors of dadice were the ones offering to "privately" verify the bankroll.  It seems to me that a perfectly legitimate interpretation is that dadice felt pushed around, decided to stand up for their rights not to reveal their private information, and to stand on their budding reputation as a legit site.

The other situation has also been clearly expressed by the detractors in this thread, ie, they won't prove their bankroll because they can't.  I'm in the camp which believes that the best thing to do here now is to let everyone's head-of-steam cool down for a while and see what happens.

people have played on dadice and will play on it as most of them dont care about cold storage and stuff they just want good design and thats it

Wouldn't you think most players would care that the site is able to actually pay them out in the event that they won a lot?

Yes, of course they would.  But a lot of players will consider that withdrawing and deposting with success again and again is indicative of future success.  I'm not here to debate the logical flaws in that sort of reasoning, I just think it's worth bearing in mind that the point of view of the typical player isn't about whether some mysterious wallet backend banksafe exists (they don't expect to be able to see it if does), but whether the stuff they *do* see works well, ie, their own deposits and withdrawals.
1649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoind debian setup on: May 27, 2015, 04:27:03 AM
You will need two different terminal sessions. Once everything is installed and set up, using the first terminal, run
Code:
bitcoind
In the second terminal, run
Code:
bitcoin-cli -whatever-command
To interact with your bitcoind.

Actually, you can just use a single term session.  Just kick off bitcoind in the background:

Code:
bitcoind &

(see http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/103731/run-a-command-without-making-me-wait for a little more detail)

hello thanks you guys for fast and good reply's
i have some others questions ,
for bitcoin.conf what is this ?
For things regarding the config file, I recommend reading this article on the bitcoin wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin#Bitcoin.conf_Configuration_File

Quote
there's a differences between
Code:
bitcoin-cli   ./bitcoin-cli
Code:
bitcoind     ./bitcoind
The ./ means that the program is in the directory you are currently in. It applies if you compiled bitcoin from source and did not install it.
Specifically, you have to specify the ./ (or some path indicator) if the command you want to execute isn't on you $PATH.  You can also just add whatever directory your bitcoind/bictoin-cli binaries are into your $PATH.
Code:
export PATH=$PATH:/path/to/binaries/
Quote
Quote
everytime when i want to run bitcoid will be good with this codes ?
Code:
 ./bitcoind -daemon -datadir=folder/folder/folder/folder
and for bitcoin-cli
Code:
./bitcoin-cli -datadir=............................ getinfo
Code:
./bitcoin-cli -datadir=............................ help
or it will be ok only
Code:
./bitcoin-cli getinfo
?
I'm not sure, but if you change the data directory and running bitcoin-cli gives you an error about no bitcoin.conf file then you will need to specify the datadir with every command from bitcoin-cli.

Do you really have to add -datadir to bitcoin-cli call?  That seems surprising.  Anyway, if you do have to do this, you can also alias bitcoin-cli to "bitcoin-cli =datadir=.... ".   (see https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/an-introduction-to-useful-bash-aliases-and-functions).

Hi, just bumping this as it got lost in the shuffle.

You have -ve trust. If you want to join then talk to Quickseller and try to resolve it.
Your recent post history is also not as good as we would like, so apply later if your posting style changes.

Quickseller isn't supposed to be on default trust anymore.  Is this no longer the case?  I see user melody82 as having 0 trust.  Also, I think if you talk to the owner of dadice you'll hear a few further words about what he thinks about QS's feedback.

@Carra23, thanks for stepping in and providing leadership during nhndc's absence.  I hope all is okay with the hobbit man.

That seems a little rude. How does advertising JD make me a whore?

Because you have sex* for money.

*Edit: unwanted, gross sex.

Double-Edit: When's the last time you took the words out of a whore's mouth seriously? You want to be taken seriously? Stop being a whore.

Since you can buy and sell accounts like it was water, there's no reason to think you command any sort of additional respect just because your account is old.

Lol, Nultidah trolling hard here.  What about the fact that he owns the dice site?  Does this merit a triple-edit?

Finally realized that first character in your topic title is an emoji.  Most people don't have emoji fonts installed on their desktops so you might want to edit the topic so that people aren't seeing just the missing glyph box (as I am) when seeing your topic.  It makes something look broken.  Just an FYI.

Here are my questions:
2) Since the term of the avatar campaing is over, will we (people already in) continue to be in for the next term? In any case (i've said it before) i want to be on the avatar campaing for as long as it's active (it should be like this, no need to re-enroll. New spots naturally appear every month because some people always spam with 50+ shit posts a day or whatever, this way you can keep quality posters that don't spam in the Avatar campaing)
I don't think it would be a very good idea to actively try to continue to advertise DaDice considering their recent controversy. It appears that they have enough funds to pay everyone however, in my eyes, there is a pretty significant chance that this is yet another scam site.

QS, can't resist coming in here to spread FUD.  Shame, man, shame.

Anyone who read up on the controversy can make their own decision.  You coming in here trolling just makes you look worse than you already do.

Ok, what if 2 months down the road, all these alligations against DaDice come true? What would you say then? I can understand your "allegiance" to DaDice because of your signature campaign. I personally do not hold anything against DaDice. I would still deposit btc there and play because I'm fairly sure they could cover my pussy ass bets and would payout if I won. But with the history of scams, members of the community have to remain cautious dispite all the good efforts put forth by DaDice. If someone does not ask the important questions or debate them, who would? If nobody did then scammers would run amuck on the forums.

If, 2 months down the road, all of the allegations come true then I will say "damn, those guys were right about dadice".  What else would I say?  The issue is that everyone has had their say and, as Dooglus says in the other thread about this, there's really no proof either way at this point so it's all speculation.  Quickseller has a known agenda against these guys so it's no suprise to seem him here trolling.  There's no problem with discussion and cetera but I'm prety sure that everything has already been said.  FUD and trolling aren't ever helpful.
1656  Other / Meta / Re: Font display bug on: May 25, 2015, 11:35:27 PM
This is caused by not having fonts on persons system that can not read it and makes it look funny and sideways.
Or it's just unicode screwery :p

MY FACE MY FACE ᵒh god no NO NOO̼OO NΘ stop the an*̶͑̾̾̅ͫ͏̙̤g͇̫͛͆̾ͫ̑͆l͖͉̗̩̳̟̍ͫͥͨe̠̅s ͎a̧͈͖r̽̾̈́͒͑e not rè̑ͧ̌aͨl̘̝̙̃ͤ͂̾̆ ZA̡͊͠͝LGΌ ISͮ̂҉̯͈͕̹̘̱ TO͇̹̺ͅƝ̴ȳ̳ TH̘Ë͖́̉ ͠P̯͍̭O̚N̐Y̡ H̸̡̪̯ͨ͊̽̅̾̎Ȩ̬̩̾͛ͪ̈́̀́͘ ̶̧̨̱̹̭̯ͧ̾ͬC̷̙̲̝͖ͭ̏ͥͮ͟Oͮ͏̮̪̝͍M̲̖͊̒ͪͩͬ̚̚͜Ȇ̴̟̟͙̞ͩ͌͝S̨̥̫͎̭ͯ̿̔̀ͅ

See also: http://www.eeemo.net/

Actually, it's already answered above and referred to in the answer to that stackexchange that I linked to.  The deal is that Thai has some diacritics which can be stacked indefinitely.  Presumably the fonts that show the stacking are doing the right thing.  If I write "looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool", we can's say that it's "unicode screwery" that your font didn't shorten that to "lol",  it's just that what I wrote was some screwery in itself.  Smiley

1658  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Softfork cutoff on: May 21, 2015, 10:11:17 PM
I think I see what you mean.  But is it correct that that small percentage of miners can actually hinder the softfork.  That is, once you pass the 75% then all non-standard version X blocks get rejected, that means that those small percentage of miners have to keep getting 5% of the blocks hashed and also that they have to be hashing them to a version < X (because if they were hashing to a non-standard version X, they'd be getting rejected by most miners because of the 75% threshold having been passed).  I apologize if I misunderstood something.

I actually tried out the site just a bit ago and it was slow for me too.

Please try our lite version, that should work for you.

FYI, to find the "lite" version you can selected it at the bottom of the page before you log in.  Or, once you're logged in, you can selected it at the bottom of the page.  I use old hardware and I also have issues with the regular version.  Lite version works very well though.
1660  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinPoker.gg - High Stakes. High Rewards - Secure Bitcoin Poker on: May 21, 2015, 08:19:54 PM
Bounty? I do appreciate you telling us about a very small issue on our site but I am not sending bitcoins to your address.

Thanks.

Define the very small issue there because it is unclear. Even a very small issue need to be rewarded because he told you about it and you had your chance to fix it. This post actually makes your sites less credible.
Rewarding like 0.002 BTC or so wont hurt much because if someone were to see this post in the future then someone might thought it is best to abuse the bug rather than telling you because it wont be rewarded

P.S : 0.002 BTC is only a few cents there  Smiley

The very small issue was that our css and javascript folder were showing the contents instead of showing a blank page to the public.

That is indeed very small because those resources are distributed to the public anyway.  Ie, if you want my browser able to use your css file, you're going to have to let me download it.  You may have obscured it a bit by making http requests for the file directly show blank, but I can still see the contents of these files by opening my browser's console and looking at the css resources that were downloaded.  Basically the same thing applies for javascript, unless this is server-side javascript.  Definitely not a "bug".  Certainly not something I'd pay for.
