took me a full 10 seconds, before i got the meaning of your post  Roll Eyes

1 Dash is now more then 500 euro.
1 Masternode is now more then 500.000 euro.

Yeah, people should really use the Intel detection tool to see if they are affected.

https://www.extremetech.com/computing/259426-intel-patches-major-flaws-intel-management-engine

Quote
Potentially affected systems include:

6th, 7th & 8th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family
Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1200 v5 & v6 Product Family
Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable Family
Intel® Xeon® Processor W Family
Intel® Atom® C3000 Processor Family
Apollo Lake Intel® Atom Processor E3900 series
Apollo Lake Intel® Pentium™
Celeron™ N and J series Processors
That’s Intel’s entire product line dating back to the introduction of Skylake. According to Intel, attackers could impersonate the Intel Management Engine, Server Platform Services, and/or the Trusted Execution Engine, load and execute arbitrary code without the user or OS being aware of it, and destabilize or crash a system altogether.

its a scam who cares

noobs should do homework before posting more spam about this pariah of a shitcoin

What is a scam? Do you mean dash is a shit coin?

Yes that is exactly what mean.

Enter dash in the search box on this sub forum and enjoy the wealth of abundant evidence demonstrating in black and white how the scumbags captive instamined 500 dash blocks every few seconds whilst proclaiming fair launch.

Proven scam invest in PIVx far better.

Yes, I have seen lots of scam accusations against DASH. Also, this coin seems to not provide what devs claim to be its best feature: privacy.
It looks there's not a so big difference between Bitcoin transactions and DASH transactions, regarding privacy. So I think it could be considered as false advertising. Yet I never sent a transaction using DASH, so I don't know it from my own experience.

About speculation, it looks to be very bullish at the moment. But if you look at the charts, it had a very similar pump at the beginning of March, followed by a dump. Maybe it will follow this trend once again.

Yep, a lot of scam accusations from crypto holders who invested in competing projects, like Monero. Scam accusations does not define a cryptocurrency, facts define a cryptocurrency. Fact is that Dash put a lot of time and effort into
developing this cryptocurrency, so that it can be used as Satoshi once saw Bitcoin used : a peer to peer digital cash system.

With Dash that means :

* Fast transactions
* Cheap fees
* Decentralized Governance and Budget System
* Optional privacy on its transactions (its privacy has never been broken)
* Optional instant transactions
* Rewards for running masternodes

The optional privacy with Dash is done through decentralized mixing by setting a certain amount to mix and a certain number of rounds, this makes it very very difficult to trace the transaction back to its original sender (it obfisquates the trail through the blockchain) and is a
huge difference from Bitcoin which is lacking privacy and where people who do want privacy for their Bitcoin transactions are driven to use centralized mixers.

You are correct that with any pump there will most likely be a dump, but when you look at the charts longterm you will notice that Dash has been steadily increasing its price and marketcap over the years and is not likely to fall back to a much lower marketcap.
Longterm strategy is what this cryptocurrency is all about.

To OP : i dont know about $1000 by january 2018 but i do know that 2018 will be a very interesting year for Dash, with many important budget proposals that asked Dash for funding (and got funded) coming to fruition.

Dash is no scam, the real scammers are those people like cryptohunter who shout scam whenever they read the word Dash because
they feel threathened and jalouse by its mere existence.

I put cryptohunter on ignore some time ago, he is nothing more then a troll and not even a very interesting troll at that.
You can verify that yourself by looking at his posting history, he pretty much shows up in any Dash related tread on this forum.

I guess today is breakout day for Dash :

Longterm charts still show plenty of growth opportunities for Dash (specially from the btc indicator that is currently driving up the fiat indicator) :

INTEL CHIP FLAWS LEAVE MILLIONS OF DEVICES EXPOSED
https://www.wired.com/story/intel-management-engine-vulnerabilities-pcs-servers-iot/

Be carefull out there !! The article links to a detection tool from Intel, i suggest you use it to scan your own Intel chip in your PC to see if its vulnerable.
Also check with your VPS provider, when running a masternode (to see if they are effected by it).

Anybody playing with latest 012.2 branch notice that the mn sync list wont work on startup? Noticed bugs in the code.

............................... show us the code with the bugs.......... or stop being a Troll......

Can't believe I'm actually responding to trolls that will never actually respond with code that does not exist - breath-taking - I know :-P

gosh and gee-whiz guys
Sure. Syscoin used dashes 0.12.2 code as v1 masternodes. In v2 im going to redo masternode design more like what evolution is about but better. Im finding the p2p design of dash is overly complex for what it needs to do and theres a better way to solve the same problem and scale across new services.

https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin2/commit/f248473f50490367563af85eb116e346ee8dcacd

Im finding mnsync list doesnt give enough time before mnw starts being requested causing incorrect sig errors for votes coming in.

https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin2/commit/90216592da0afcf1429aec60cc077fb328f27272

Here setAskFor is not cleared on initial requests before mn list is requested. Therefor on subsequent requests during mn list sync state the invs on those mns are not requested because setAskFor already has the objects.

Ok your turn.

I'm a little confused, all i see in the mentioned commits for syscoin is either the adding of the SYSCOIN name (which is definetely not something to brag about) and giving the sync more time with the *2
in the line if(GetTime() - nTimeLastBumped > MASTERNODE_SYNC_TIMEOUT_SECONDS*2) {  (which i'm not sure is even needed for Dash)

That is literally all you did with the Dash code. So where are exactly the bugs you found and why are we not noticing the effects of your discovered bugs on Dash mainnet ?
Current code v0.12.2.1 is running pretty stable and masternodes are kept in good synchronisation, so far i can tell from the number of active masternodes and from my own masternodes.

Edit : okay, i think i found the piece of code you are referring to :

I will give someone from the Dash core-team the chance to confirm if you found a valid bug or not.

Sorry doesn't seem you are a coder. Look I never inteded to brag dont know where you got that from. Regarding the commits comments // SYSCOIN I am very glad you asked that since not many coders in alt land actually use that idea. It is a way for me to know which parts have changed so I can easily rebase from scratch by looking for all // SYSCOIN tags and updating code without costly merge conflicts. This way I can ensure I start from a good base (dash or btc) and then add my specific stuff on top. Hope that makes sense, its something Ive been using and creates very efficient reports from base without sacrificing security and wished more developers would do the same, after all we are dealing with peoples money.

So the two bugs I reproduced by creating a simple testnet and noticing that lists wont sync deterministically, there is a codepath that sometimes syncs up MNs but the normal path of execution skips over it. Maybe having more masternodes helps fix the problem but a problem is a problem to me, with 1 MN or with more, so I think its a valid bug. I had to fix the setAskFor issue first then the increase the timeout which finally got me to sync properly in a stable manor. Anyways I will work with the developers who wrote the code, I prefer Dash makes the changes IFF they see it is a valid issue or can respond with appropriate comments.

Thank you for your reply, i'm indeed not a coder and i overlooked at first the code part that actually contained your mentioned bug and your implemented fix.
My apologies for my post, i overreacted and the use of the // SYSCOIN tags makes much more sense now. Also thank you for describing the two bugs in more detail.

Edit : looks like your discovered bugs gets addressed here :

Looks like the masternode owners are still dragging behind a bit with regards to updating :

Hello. I have heard about planned dash hard fork
Is it true?
I can't find any info
Oh it's a required update?

Is this the "spork"?

Yes, the update from v12.1.5 to v12.2.0 / v12.2.1 (hotfix) is a planned hardfork that through spork technology
will be executed, once enough miners and masternodes have made the upgrade.

The spork technonolgy allows better control over the update process and can be rolled back if problems arise
with the update. This way the network will not be put in danger during updates.

Guys is it safe to buy BTC right now?

I would check the memory pool first. If its still very full with unconfirmed transactions then i would wait a bit.

has there ever been talk of reducing the cost of masternodes if/when they become prohibitively expensive to newer users? (i.e. 1k to 100 coins each)

Not going to happen unless Dash experience severe upscaling problems. What will happen after Dash Evolution is the implementation of Masternode Shares,
these are decentralized shares that people can buy, set apart on a Dash Evolution savings account and get some interest on.
These Masternode Shares have no restriction and can be any amount of Dash.
But that is still very much in concept phase.
