so i have to watch out for that , i included *subject to change* next to the revenue that is to be paid out as dividends.

I believe there's a javascript address generator which you could include inthe ordering process.  The webpage would send you only the data necessary to construct the coin, and give the user the full address info.

Obviates the trust issue completely, but inevitably some users would fail to save this data and lose the coins.

I origionally downloaded 0.4 client and it generated an address which i copied to my e-mail. But the program did not initalise and download blocks. the bitcoin was sent to the address i gave to fawcet but that address no longer appears in my address book. now i have got the client to run and the bitcoin is in the system according to blockcheck.  do i own that bitcoin or is it lost? I do not seem to be able to assign that recieving address to my client? anyone?  reg

maybe i should frame it differently.  i also have an economic incentive to leave my computers on to support the network.  i have a substantial investment in Bitcoin as do many others who compose the network.  its about taking care of one's money.  you don't just leave it out on the front lawn for anyone to take.  you build a safe in a remote area of your house and fortify it to the extent you feel comfortable.  you may buy a few guns also just in case.  it may cost me a few cents to keep those computers on but i want to take care of my money!

If you honestly think this behaviour is going to repeat forever, you're basically admitting that you're clueless.

It's only going to go like that as long as the general trend is down and it's easier to manipulate the price down than up. Once the price is low enough, there is a reversal and the exact same behaviour starts happening in reverse. For a confirmation of a reversal we would need $4 to break though.

So far $2 has been extremely solid as a bottom, we've seen nothing like it after the peak. This (third) time it's unlikely that we'll even see another test of $2 because the support strength of $2 is so massive. If we did see one, it would probably melt quickly and result in a massive crash. But I'm personally starting to favor the triple bottom scenario more than that.
