2641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell BTC and take profit in usdc or usd on exchange. which is safe? on: August 22, 2021, 07:12:31 PM
You can either exchange to a stablecoin, such as BUSD, USDC or similar, and then store your coins in a wallet. Otherwise, I think you'll be safe even if you store your money as USD in any reputable exchange, such as Binance, Kraken or Bitstamp.

I had 600 Euros stored on Bitstamp for over 2 years, without any activity for that time period, and faced no issues at all.
2642  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Backing up and restoring Electrum Portable on: August 22, 2021, 01:40:32 PM
Can't thank you enough for all your replies, backed up and restored my wallet using the wallet files named "Electrum Data". Also saved the 12 word seed phrase just in case something went wrong, but all went smoothly.

Thanks again!
2643  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you decided what you want to be? on: August 22, 2021, 11:54:25 AM
You're approximately 18 years old, having a choice to make, which might (or might not) affect your future for years to come, choosing what and if you want to study. How do you make such a choice? How do you choose what you want to do for the rest of your life (Maybe, maybe not?).

Most people like you at the 18 years are not serious in life and they just focus on what comes at their life. At this age, most people study at university or college and that too is determined by their parents. Usually people are not focused in this age and usually they waste the time in outings and entertainment.
I certainly wasn't in the right mind to choose what I'd want myself doing for what's supposed to be the rest of my life. A lot of factors played an important role back them, psychological mostly, but also that I hadn't explored myself enough to know what my interests are. I do know better now, but I still haven't decided yet, nor do I know where to look for such an answer.
2644  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: August 22, 2021, 04:07:25 AM
Up to now, it has been nearly 2 years since the first case of covid19 was detected in Wuhan City, the whole world is struggling with the context of a severe economic crisis, recession of life, daily life and work security of people in each country.

When the vaccine was produced, some countries considered it to be an effective remedy to save the world from extinction and until new variants were born Delta, Lambda... the destruction increased. . All that is faced is a wound for any citizen.

Well.. right now the only effective remedy is to get yourself vaccinated. In the US, unvaccinated account for 99.5% of the deaths from COVID. Do you still want to argue that the vaccines are not effective? You may still contract COVID even after receiving both the doses of the vaccine. But the chances of hospitalization and death may be 100 or 200 times lower when compared to the unvaccinated individuals. And this is true for the mutated strains as well. Unless we have a better and safer option, I would consider vaccination as the only remedy available.
You can't argue with that, vaccines are effective, even if you get infected as a vaccinated person, chances are, that you'll go through it pretty mildly.

I've been in close contact with a confirmed case, a friend of mine 24 years old, he was unvaccinated and now has quite severe symptoms. I'm vaccinated and didn't get infected, despite being in close contact.
2645  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you making money online? on: August 21, 2021, 07:45:27 PM
In our lives, it is not enough to rely on just one income, because when that income is constrained, we have no other alternative to meet our daily needs.
Real world income
1. Car wash
2. Hydroponics
3. printing/stationery business
While online income
1. Trade crypto
2.Youtube
3. Bounty Hunter
And this work is what I routinely do until now
These are quite a lot of activities to fit within a day/week. If you do not mind me asking, how are you earning money from YouTube, though? Do you have an active channel with advertisements set up? If yes, with what is it related? Cryptocurrency, gaming, DIY? I'd subscribe to help another user, if you'd share it.
2646  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: August 21, 2021, 06:41:23 PM
I've been in close contact with an unvaccinated person who recently got infected with Covid-19, I'm vaccinated and did not get infected. Everyone else in their household, who was unvaccinated, were infected, but I wasn't. Despite the new strains, vaccines are effective, and it's certainly what saved me from infection.

I've also have the same example from another acquaintance of mine, my car mechanic, his whole family was unvaccinated and infected, but he wasn't.

You're approximately 18 years old, having a choice to make, which might (or might not) affect your future for years to come, choosing what and if you want to study. How do you make such a choice? How do you choose what you want to do for the rest of your life (Maybe, maybe not?).

When I was 18 years old, I never really bothered on what I've wanted to do, alongside with a pretty messed up psychology, I wasn't in the best position to choose. I chose Business Administration, which I'm graduating from in a month or two at most, without being sure I wanted that. Now that I'm graduated, I'm not exactly sure if it was the right choice and/or if it's actually appealing to me, as something I'd be willing to do as an occupation for the upcoming years.

You're merely nothing but a student finishing High School, who is basically clueless on what he/she could possibly like, because it's something that might remain unknown for many years, even after finishing university. Seeing that from myself, I've got no clue on what I could possibly do in the future, based on what I studied. Follow a master's degree? Not sure on what subject, try something else? I'm not sure about that either.

I'm pretty intrigued to become a first responder paramedic, but I still haven't made up my mind. Did you go through this process yourselves? How did you deal with it, how is someone supposed to find what he likes at 18 years old, is that educational practice even appropriate?
2648  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading involvement on: August 21, 2021, 02:13:24 PM
I just want to share this. When I first learned about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, I also shared it to my friends and told to my family members about it but they didn't believe me and they thought that it was just a scam.

I started from participating in various campaigns even though I was not good at answering and making my own post. Eventually, after learning more here on the forum about investing and trading, I tried to make a day-to-day trade and so far it has been successful and my family knows I make money doing it.

Most didn't see through Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, certainly not the first, nor the last ones. This forum is actually helpful in terms of information, knowledge and experiences shared from other users but, if you don't try it yourself, no matter what you read, won't make you much better. Being a successful trader takes time and patience, not many can actually achieve that.

Quote
More surprising because even my 4 year old child also knows the trading site and knows how to spot buying and selling which is proof that it is not hard to teach others about cryptocurrency as long as they believe on us.
Not sure if you're joking or not.
2649  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Online Misinformation on: August 21, 2021, 04:20:22 AM

Misinformation is widely spread in these era as the previous generation tend to believe anything they see on the internet.

"Look at this plant, it can heal anykinds of disease", yet there's no supporting data to defend the claims.

"Look, they became magnetic after getting vaccinated", yet the one who is supposed to be magnetic is just sweaty

"Look at this, the government is in cooperation with the other governments for worldwide genocide", yet years later, nothing ever happened

And the most annoying is that, typically your aunt/s or uncle/s are the one spreading this to your family group conversation. Like they are saying "Look at this, I am concerned about you guys so I will spread nonsense that may help you"

The problem is that everybody can write something on the internet. There is no quality check, and especially with sides like Facebook there can be a lot of people involved in trying to boost misinformation to make it viral. And the second problem is that people on the internet are not critical enough, they something and instantly believe it. I see it every week with my family, they fall so easily for things on the internet. Especially ad campaigns make it so hard for older people to realise that this was paid for by a company with a motivation behind it. We need more critical thinking when it comes to the internet.
Couldn't agree more, social media, like Facebook, is filled with misinformation, fake news and conspiracy theories. However, I've noticed that Facebook has been trying to debunk such articles, by informing users beforehand. It certainly plays an important role in tackling such practices.
2650  Other / Politics & Society / Re: need a real business recommendation. on: August 20, 2021, 08:14:12 PM
I believe that this thread belongs to the "Economics" subforum. Anyway, how are you even planning on starting your own business if you're bankrupt? You'll need a decent capital to begin with. On top of that, you haven't even mentioned any of your interests, hobbies, or fields you are expert in. If you were decent with marketing and social media, for instance, you could start your own social media advertising company, which wouldn't require a large investment either.

You need to be more specific in order to receive constructive replies.
2651  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you making money online? on: August 20, 2021, 05:21:59 PM
My last source of online income is signature campaigns, I've been in one for quite a while and I wish I had more time to post more, but I do not, I'll prefer to not post crap all around the forum just to get my post count up.

I have previously shared my experience with this but let me share it again:

Living in a third-world country is very challenging especially if you're brought up by single father of 5. When I first joined this forum, I had nothing on my pocket. When I got the opportunity to participate in campaign signatures back in 2018, this enabled me to fund for my own school resources and books. With this, my dad was able to prioritize my younger siblings with the money "supposedly" allocated to me.

Now, the BTC that I receive weekly from campaign signatures is relatively high especially on my current state. While receiving $65/week may not be too much for some people, to me, it's everything as it indirectly helped supporting my family as well.
I'm not from a Third World country, so I cannot fully relate with what you're saying. What's the minimum wage in dollars, if you don't mind me asking? I've got no clue on how relatable is $65/week ($260 per month), compared to your average salary.

Your campaign is definitely paying a reasonable/decent amount. The campaign I entered now is paying $55/week, which is great, it's approximately 1/4 of an average salary here, which is of great assistance on a monthly basis.
2652  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I beat the China virus.. I think.. on: August 20, 2021, 07:33:27 AM
We are very happy the virus has finally been contained.A virus that almost destroyed the whole world, divastate life's,render people jobless, kill so many and claim more life's than was expected.
Now that the vaccine has come,we are pretty sure we won't be infected again, and even if we are, there is drugs to treat it,unlike before when if you contract it,it is a dead sentence for such individual.
People are now gathering together at different places without even putting on the face mask, because their is hope that if they should contract it,they will be able to treat it.
I'm currently seeing the exact opposite of what you are describing. The virus is not contained at all, with cases exploding all over the world. We do have vaccines, and I am vaccinated myself too, but you can get infected too. We definitely have a long way to go.

About OP now, I'm glad you're okay, it's a pretty traumatic and tiring experience, I can imagine, I was also submitted to the Covid-19 ward for 2 days, as a suspected case, in October 2020. No one approaches you or enters the room without wearing fully protective clothing, and you're treated like an alien.

2653  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you making money online? on: August 19, 2021, 08:52:44 PM
The people on this forum are all doing work online to make money, here a lot of people are working on signature bounty campaigns, and that means they are making money online, including me. It's really nice to be able to work in this forum, where we will continue to learn about crypto developments as well as investment and trading

All members in this forum are of course money oriented, maybe only 1% are not money oriented but I'm sure they are also making money related to this forum, this is good because it allows us to manage the right time rather than just social media just arguing.
Of course, and the majority of users here are money oriented. This forum has been an absolute blessing in my life, it has helped me so much financially, it has provided me with the right tools and experience to earn. Moreover, signature campaigns allow you to earn while you spend time on the forum learning new opportunities.

This forum is mainly the reason I have money completely separated from my bank accounts.

I'd also like to write a farewell post, I've been here for quite a few months and never had any major issue. I'd like to thank CryptopreneurBrainboss and Lightlord for this opportunity, since this was my second campaign after many years of inactivity.

It's been a great experience, but I decided to move along, take risks and pursue another campaign.

Farewell and I'll see you around the forum.
2655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much of your total capital is in crypto? on: August 18, 2021, 07:45:17 PM
I'm not really an investor, I got into cryptocurrency in approximately 2013, generating micro amounts of BTC. After signing up here, I joined a bunch of signature campaigns, started Altcoin mining and made a quite decent profit. I held most of the BTC I earned till now, thanks to this move, and a couple of DeFi investments I made, my crypto assets consist approximately 50% of my total capital (Wallets, Bank Accounts etc.).

Thanks to this forum, I have a few thousand dollars set aside for reinvesting or as an emergency fund.
2656  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Online Misinformation on: August 18, 2021, 05:57:44 PM
Don't rely on fact checking websites (and mainstream media). DYOR is still the best practice since the paper usually available on the internet. Don't use research paper as the bible with utmost truth, since many things can influence the research. Funding is one of it. You still have to trust the integrity of the researchers, and the validity and reliability of the instruments. And don't think that when you don't have the degree, you cannot ask questions.

There are two types of "misinformation" (1) Baseless claim obvious false information, and (2) Dissenting/opposing views. It's safe to put (1) into the trash can, but I encourage you to dig (2) for more useful insight.
On the one hand, I see where you're coming from, and I understand what exactly you mean. However, most fact-checkers I've used cite their sources at the bottom of the article, enabling you to check the legibility/validity of their claims. Doing your own research can be conducted along with using fact-checkers, to assist you in your investigation.
2657  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Online Misinformation on: August 18, 2021, 04:54:30 PM
The creativity of the people increased a lot that is the thing we can witness from such viral spread of wrong/framed news.

Even news channels reported wrong information and newspaper as well but at that time we didn't evaluate because we accept that as a source itself but now the same internet proves what is right and wrong so basically don't click the share button if you believe it just do it only if you can authenticate it.
There have been quite a few instances of TV channels showing videos of older events, or from events that had no correlation with the reported subject. I'm following a national website called Greek Hoaxes. There were quite a few instances, were a specific channel was showing events from other countries, or from several years ago.

2658  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Roobet is scam on: August 18, 2021, 03:46:31 PM
Hello guys, I was using roobet for maybe a year and they decided to lock my account because I was from restricted country even though whole time that I played there it was restricted there but they let me to play. But now it isnt about it. It is about my locked account and about the situation I can't withdraw my referral earnings. I don't care if I can play there or not, I just want to be able to withdraw my referral earnings because I know for sure there is some money there left. I had 410 referrals and more than 100 of them had deposited at least once. So I know for sure some money is hanging there

They don't respond to any emails, so I don't know whete to look for help.
If you were violating their TOS, then nothing much can be done, since you acknowledged that you were using the website from a restricted country, you should/could have expected that sometime, you would eventually face the consequences.

I know it sucks to have your account blocked, but it was expected since you already knew about it. However, on the other hand, it would be best if the website didn't even allow you to register.
2659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: August 18, 2021, 02:44:50 PM
I want us to discuss on the following areas.
1. From your experience which of the trading platform has great features and epic user experience (UX) that new traders should learn to use.
2. What is special about coinbase that almost all the website are ranking it to be the best crypto trading platform?

Choosing a good exchange is very important to be a successful trader.
I used Bitstamp, Coinbase-pro, and Bittrex at first because they were USA regulated so I thought they were trusted. Cause there are many Dark histories about the crypto exchange in past.(ex-Bitgrail scam)
But as the maker/taker fee gradually increased on those exchanges, I was forced to stop using Bittrex.

My interest in Binance increased since Binance bought CMC because their trading fees were relatively low and the founder of Binance was able to make a very good portfolio & trust.
Currently, I only use Bitstamp and Binance for doing online trading and occasionally use Coinbase-Pro for making local transactions.
I think that Bitstamp was the most user-friendly platform I've ever used, especially the graphs were really easy to distinguish. I find Binance though, to be the most cost-effective solution, having extremely low trading fees and an active referral program (I've invited two friends of mine under my name).
2660  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Backing up and restoring Electrum Portable on: August 17, 2021, 09:19:10 PM
Firstly, I'll try restoring the wallet in another PC I have, just to see how it works and make sure I do everything correctly.
This is exactly what I've advised you to do in my previous reply and it's the easiest and safest way to verify that every thing is fine.
btw, you don't need to restore your wallet on another PC. You can use the same device and the same app to do that.
Oh, I see, I didn't quite get it from your previous reply, that you meant that I could do it on my very own PC. I'll try it out tomorrow. My laptop is getting quite slow with the HDD and upgrading to an SSD is a must. Having no experience with such wallets (I've only used online ones before), makes me anxious not to mess anything up with the backup process.

It would suck to lose my BTC that way. Thanks again!
