The condoms?  Got em from an old thread.  I was among the first to request a free mini-frisbee, and because the shipping was delayed, he was so kind enough to throw in a couple of free BTC condoms  Cheesy

well if that crap goes up to $100 it may be worth it to mine with a BFL single that will take weeks to receive. and still, you might make only $40-$50 a day. What a joke. the government prints that in an amount of time so small, it cannot be measured. see, you are so blind with your game. that's exactly what they want.

Ok ok, you got me.  I'm interested.

1)  So, why are you here?

2)  ^^  HUH?!

Faisal reminds me of the jealous kid on the block who never amount to anything and constantly jealous at the success of others.

I will send you free lollipops if it will turn your frown upside down, faisal.

what if truly you're the jealous one? too blind with logs in your eyes to see it?

Erm, cause Im the kid with the candy and you are not? Pretty obvious who is jealous.

Oh and Im perfectly happy with bitcoins in my eyes, thanks.

I think its time to play, lets-hunt-alter-ego-of-atlas-2012

keep your candy. It's retarded.

Check www.mtgox.com/orders.  Apparently people who have done/are doing the "big things" want a piece of candy, too.

You know it's bad when instead of paying attention to what someone is saying, you keep wondering about what life events he could have possibly experienced to make him turn out the way that he did.

I like this idea. A taxi service based on Bitcoins.
You know, give some transportation to the community.

How much interest would there be?

As a potential driver, I would much more trust and be willing to serve someone who is using bitcoins.

Traditional taxi services charge high because of the aggravation. Serving bitcoiners would not be aggravating, it would be a pleasure.

If there's interest in this, I would love to get it going.

Thinking about having computers in the cars just like the ones traditional taxi service users, but accepts Bitcoins exclusively!!
GLBSE company
Drivers in all the major cities of the world offering bargain prices

Is this a good idea or will it flop? I imagine bitcoiners are not much into driving. So let someone else do it while you focus on more important things in life!

You were saying?

Sorry that was my delusional personality. Don't pay attention to him. He actually thinks this world is a decent place to live in.. That's when he forgets its nothing but a crooked, rigged, fantasy land.

Ah, I see.  Projection at its finest.  By the way, I offer a therapy for BTC service if you're interested.

Few extra grand in my pocket and a wealth of computer hardware knowledge obtained in the past year --> soooo stupid.

Get out before you get eaten alive.

you built some mediocre mining rigs and chatted with a few energy drink addicted college kids who are supported by the successes of their parents for the most part.

not impressed.

I built some mediocre mining rigs from scratch having never touched the inside of a computer before in my life.

I invested in precious metals (purchased with BTC) to add to my BTC investment.  Hence, I have created a small investment portfolio.

Because of BTC, I have now tasted the world's hottest pepper, have donated money to charity, have become more familiar with tax laws and other banking/financial legal jargon, have two Bitcoin condoms with which I can bang the incredibly hot girl I'm dating (after that, we can play naked Bitcoin ultimate frisbee), have ample heat during the long Midwest winter free of cost, have been paid for Bitcoin-related services and products, have conducted international business transactions in the middle of the night, and I'm basically guaranteed to be rich if Bitcoin really turns the mainstream corner.

Soooo stupid.

So impressive. Truly.

You're doing the big things.

Thanks!  So are you.

2713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DONT PAY , much Bankers' money don't exist .... so don't pay back your loan. on: June 01, 2012, 01:06:36 AM
Wasn't this court case in the movie Zeitgeist?

If I recall, the reason that the foreclosure was initially reversed is because the bank didn't have the necessary reserve funds to cover the loan.

While it's true that the loans that banks create are basically money that is created out of "thin air," I believe there are some fine print rules which essentially say something like "Yeah, while it's true this money isn't really the bank's, the bank can still legally put it up as a form of liability so long as they maintain the minimum reserve requirement."

All I remember is that while Zeitgeist makes it seem as though no loans offered up by any bank have any legal backing whatsoever (no foreclosures EVER!!!!), the fine print reveals this isn't really the case and the banks are legally entitled to offer up imaginary collateral so long as they meet a number of other requirements.

Thanks, atm 600hz!

Ok, so, it seems I actually had to do this for my 3X6970 rig instead of my 5870.  My 5870 had no issues dropping to 170 mem using CG miner.  However, my 6970s aren't reference cards and initially it wouldn't let me drop my mem clocks more than -125 below my core clocks.  Using the following method, I was able to get my mem clocks down to 685.  Maybe this will let you drop your mem clocks below that for your 5870.

Make sure you have the latest MSI Afterburner Beta, then search for the msiafterburner.cfg file.

I right clicked the .cfg file, went to properties --> open with notepad --> adjusted "unofficialoverclockingmode =   2"  (was previously zero) -->  save (I have 'hide file extensions' unchecked)  and then opened MSI Afterburner.

So, essentially you're changing "unofficialoverclockingmode = 0"  to "unofficialoverclockingmode = 2"  and then saving it.  Then, reopen MSI Afterburner and see if you can drop your mem clocks any lower.

If you can't, I'd still recommend using CGminer to make sure.  With GUIminer, my 5870 was running at about 400 m/hash even with massive overclocking.  CGminer gives me a better hashrate than GUIminer all else being equal.  There's no way I'd be running at 456 m/hash with GUIminer.

Edit:  Actually, I'd probably try CG miner first before the MSI Afterburner trick.  You can change your clocks, fan speeds, and voltages all through CGminer and it gives a better hashrate than GUIminer for the 5870 anyway.

I'm currently at home at the moment, when I go in tomorrow I'll try it and I'll tell you how it goes! Thanks!

No problem.  Good luck!

Hey Guys,

I am just getting into BitCoin mining and wanted some help with my set up!

I decided to join mining due to the fact that I have a cheap electricity rate and I already have 8 Webservers on 24/7 so I would add some cards to that!

I have 8 HD5870's at the moment,

Could some one give me some advice on how to get the best MHash Rate because atm I am not getting anywhere near the value on the comparison sheets!

I am part of the Eclipise pool after testing with a couple, I was part of Deepbit but I didn't seem to me making my projected income.

Also if anyway is feeling kind: 1Hsf21CDw5e3kBYDUFz5PoMBRQ75cbEcQZ

Anyway thanks!

Drop your voltage and mem clocks as low as you can while keeping the card stable.  This will drop the temps and power consumption significantly.  With CG miner, my 5870 is pulling 456 m/hash at 990 core and 170 mem with voltage at 1.13 at a cool 60C (much cooler in the winter).

Edit:  I want to say I'm using Catalyst 11.6 drivers, Stream SDK 2.4.

Wow, 456 O.o

Could you explain what Steam SDK 2.4 is ?

I am trying to do it with MSI Afterburner but it is not letting me drop my memory clock anywhere near that low!

As far as the SDK goes, just type in "ATI stream SDK 2.4" in Google and you should be able to find a download link.  For some reason I think later versions decrease the hashing power.

How low is MSI Afterburner letting you set the mem clocks??  One sec, let me try to find an old thread that tells you how to adjust your mem clocks lower.  I think you might need to make a couple simple changes to modify one of the config files.  I'll be back...

2718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: May 31, 2012, 08:00:32 PM
Sorry cypherdoc, this time you lose.

Since I first made the call here last year: "Gold: I smell a trap"

Silver= -44%
Gold= -19%
Miners= -57%

...

Um...and BTC?

And again, 'smelling a trap' at that time was about as impressive as 'smelling a turd' at a sewage treatment facility.

you underestimate how hard it is to call a top.  many others here understand that.

the bullishness was at an extreme.  everyone was saying we were going to break $2000 and once we did it would go to $2400 $35,000 easy.

read that thread.  if everyone could see it, why was i getting all sorts of hate?

Hi,  I'm back.

Again, the key ingredient is a time frame.  It's hard to call a top given a specific time frame.  It's easy to call a top and then claim you were correct at any moment when the price drops below a given price point.

When you extend the gold charts back a decade, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that a top has ever been reached.  There is also absolutely nothing to suggest that those who were claiming that $2000 and beyond will be broken were wrong.  Given a period of 10 years, a 19% decline in value over the course of one year is not some game changing event when you consider the 800% increase that occurred over those 10 years.

Let's say that tomorrow, in the course of one day, gold suddenly dropped to $500/oz.  I'm sure at this point you would be tooting your horn and making sure we all heard it.

Then, let's say that next year at some point, gold increased to $2500/oz.  Did you successfully call the top before the drop to $500?  Or were you just horribly horribly correct in the short term and horribly horribly wrong long-term?

Again, without a specific time-frame (many months to years is not specific) then it's really just a pissing match.  I'd be much more interested if you were to give finite predictions and a specific time frame (e.g. "gold will be $1400 around November 2012," or something like that).  Saying "gold is gonna go down at some point between many months and many years from now" is like saying it will rain this month.

Similarly, did I call the "bottom" when I bought at $1528?  Hell, it's been almost 2 weeks since then!
