Your intensions may have been good who knows since you never bothered to announce them publicly, but the way you implemented the merged mining was in an underhanded dirty little way...
Are you re-writing history? He did announce plans publicly, just not here. He did not do this in secret. Just because he is working on a new feature, does not mean he needs to tell EVERYBODY about it while he is working on it. Thank you Slush. You are providing me with more revenue with very little extra work on my side. I hope you are making plenty of money and this is all worth your time.

800 BTC is a little high even for this machine.

This thread again? I thought I unsubscribed from your newsletter.
So then why are you bumping the thread? Again my core point is: Big btc holders who are hoping that the masses will use all of their half only for circulation are livin in illusion. You know the great part about bitcoin? We can see just by looking at the blockchain if your idea that the big btc holders are just waiting (or already) dumping BTC. Guess what. They are not. The coins that move and that are bought and sold are mostly newer coins. Not early adopters. Most of those coins just sit, and a huge chunk of them may not even be spendable anymore.

The whole store is free shipping. Spend as little as $2. First 10 people or until October 31'st.
Use the coupon bitship to get this deal, the spot to put it in is at the shopping cart, not during the checkout after the cart.
Free shipping is for USA customers only.
Remember, price is calculated in USD, but then turned into BTC at the end, and you pay online automatically with bitcoin.
Enjoy!

There are lots of IRC channels which will ban a newcomer who comes in, shows little interest in the purpose of the channel, and appears to want to pursue their own agenda regardless of the current topic. You mightn't see what you did as spamming the channel, but I can see why they did.
I was in the channel for at least a week without getting banned and then all of a sudden without having said anything for 7+ days, ban.... yeah, tl;dr, nobody cares, so wtfever. ^_^ I think some of us care. I just think this one is a little less black and white. People bringing up bitcoin in unrelated areas can be seen as pushing/spaming it. Since you are not in the local area of this hackerspace, bringing up bitcoin can be seen as spam. I don't agree, but I can see how others would feel that way.

I find this idea interesting and would support sellers who did this. However, there is almost no where to buy things with bitcoin other than SilkRoad right?
There are tons of places to buy things. Besides my store of course.... I have bought DVD's. Computer cases Hard drives Keychains Software (physical) As well I have spend on services such as logo design, advertising and stored value cards.

Same as before, since I am buying them on behalf of myself and not flexcoin I can't use the same accounts. If anyone knows where I can use paypal to buy them let me know. I'm also willing to do a private purchase if you wish.
I have bought in the past from the forum and never had a problem and I have several people here that will vouch for me.
Best Regards, Roger
The Founder bought from me a few weeks ago, was a successfull transaction. I would sell more but I am not selling at the current prices.

I assume this is not bound to any particular network?
It depends. As it is now, it is bound to AT&T. It is currently jailbroken and while I am no expert, I know that it can be unlocked. I do not know how it is done (or if there is a cost). I have had no need to unlock it. It needs to be using baseband 1.59.00 in order for it to be software unlockable right now. Any iTunes update in the past few months (maybe over a year now) would have updated this unless you were using a tool like TinyUmbrella to disable the local TSS server. Or use some kind of special sim or sim adapter. Well, right. You could buy a Gevey Sim card, but using it would be illegal. It's possible to unlock virtually every single phone somehow, so it doesn't necessitate mentioning. A software unlockable iPhone 4 is a special thing. Just making sure everybody knew what you were talking about, heh. Curios? Why would they Gevey sim be illegal while unlocking and jailbreaking have been deemed to be legal in the USA?

Another potential trick - let's assume the DDoS is carried out by vulnerable Windows boxes, controlled by some evil piece of crap. If the perpetrator doesn't immediately secure the Windows box (and he can't - because he needs to send messages to the zombie box to attack a particular pool) then what's to stop our pool operators from breaking into the zombie box *too* and changing the hosts file to point the pool DNS names to localhost?
Actually the zombie boxes are infected with very sophisticated software. Sometimes the zombie command and control networks have been taken over by some advanced hackers, but most of the time it is near impossible. The machines once infected are usually secured against other takeovers and get patches that don't interfere with their own software. It is very hard to completely remove the software from the machine without a reformat. The command and control of these machines is usually done with types of encrypted keys as well. Without the key, you don't get to do much to the machine.

I sincerely hope it's not just you and Atlas xD
Kind of funny, but kind of not, I wonder how many people would not use a venue based on one attendee. Honestly, I feel there would be a good amount of people who would not support a convention based on something like, let's say Bruce attending. Quite a few forum members have expressed a desire to attend, sponsor, and/or purchase exhibit space but I'm holding off on listing them until I get firm confirmations, i.e. "I am definitely attending" or actually sending some bitcoins. However, even if only 50% of those I've corresponded with are serious, I think we'll have a really nice turnout. Immanuel/Atlas has just been the only one (so far) to come right out and post such a clear cut affirmative response. It's still early, though, and I haven't really had anything definite to announce, myself, other than a location and dates. In addition, I think the role of the attendee in question would make a big difference in turnout. I mean, that was the main reason I decided to tackle this monster myself - I believe many would not only avoid a conference Bruce organized, but would actively work against it. On the other hand, if he was just one attendee out of hundreds, present only as a guest, I doubt anyone would intentionally miss out on what could be a great opportunity to interact with all of the other noteworthy people in attendance. I think my response was pretty positive too.

Final bump.
Unfortunately it seems it is quite hard to sell here. There are probably not enough people looking here anymore. Last two items I put up, did not sell, then sold elsewhere for 20% more.

One thing hindering economic development is the price. People do not want to spend BTC when they are valued this low. My sales go away when bitcoin is dropping.

Well done!
Are these open copyright so we can print them and hand them out?

Anyone who supports Slush's attack on BTCG is wrong.....
Actually this wasn't an attack, just a test. I didn't want to hurt btcguild and I was ready to switch DNS back asap in case of any troubles. Semantics..... Someone is firing a machine gun at you and the bullets are piercing and damaging you, so you knowingly turn the firing gun onto to someone else to see if they bleed too ? ....because you THOUGHT they might be bullet proof ? Or the attacker would remove his finger from the trigger once focused on someone else ? Let's see THAT argument stand up in a court of law. Pretty bad analogy. Slush is not in control of the gun, he is using a shield and analyzing the bullets bouncing off of it. This whole thing got pretty grey when some pools started allowing botnets on board. I am not faulting them, they have very little choice. But once that line was crossed, pools that down allow them and are being attacked at least have the right to try to figure out what is going on.
