2721  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-30] Standford Tops Worlds’s Best Universities with Most Crypto Classes on: August 30, 2018, 02:37:26 PM
I just hope that the news report have identified what courses are taken online and on a classroom because it will say a lot of things. Online courses are really different compared to the real thing which is being taught in a classroom setting which I believe you will learn more as a professor is the one teaching you also they are able to entertain your questions if you have one. From what I know so far Standford and other leading universities have these kinds of courses offered online and not as a regular elective in a classroom, some courses can even be taken by people not enrolled in that university, you just have to pay for that online course to get a certification as proof of enrollment.
2722  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Thailand embraces ICO regulation, Legalizes 7 Cryptocurrencies and Licensing on: August 30, 2018, 12:43:20 PM
Posted something related to that on another thread earlier and I talk about how ICO regulation would be good for all of the parties including their citizens, Thailand should be an example for the Chinese Government or in any government for that matter, what they are doing is simply denying their own citizens the proper chance of having a good investment opportunity for them. Instead of banning ICO sales and promotions they should instead find a way to monitor and control who is allowed to do such operations in their country.

They just need to take advantage of this situation by turning it around, if they support the cryptocurrency market in their country they might even see how big of a help in their economy the market will be for them. On the other side, this is really a good news for the country as from what I read before the Thai government has been in the same position of the Chinese government before, the change of heart is a big win for the cryptocurrency market.
2723  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crackdown Continues: Chinese Authorities Issue Joint Warning on ‘Illegal’ Crypto on: August 30, 2018, 11:14:21 AM
This is really not avoidable for ICO developers they know China is a big market that they can target, with a lot of business minded citizens as well as young willing investors not promoting your ICO sale locally in China is a wasted opportunity for them. I think what is best for the government and their country is rather than stopping these sales and promotions locally I think the only way to exploit this is having a proper and well regulated cryptocurrency market, not what everyone wanted to have but this is the only solution for both parties to work, also having a monitored market will mean that there would be less criminal activities like money laundering and tax evasion which the Chinese government is mainly preventing to happen.
2724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the price of bitcoin go down on: August 29, 2018, 08:09:19 PM
You should move this topic to the Speculation section under Economy, because of the reason that you are getting a lot of different answers not for newbies and this topic is not suitable for this section. This section is for beginners in BTC and is mostly a section for the introduction to the Bitcoin world. Do not confuse this section as a tips and tricks for your trading decisions, and following their advice might be a wrong move for you as you might notice all of the members posting in your thread are all giving you different answers.
2725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: August 29, 2018, 06:32:28 PM
~snip~
I can only imagine that being a Spurs fan this season is really tough right now aside from trading away their superstar even though they got a good player in return didn't relieve all the memories they have from Kawhi. Aside from that hearing the news about Tony Parker signing with the Charlotte Hornets is one tough blow to take as he has been the atarting point guard for the Spurs in a long time. And now the biggest blow the last of their original Big 3 will now be gone for his retirement, I think Manu really waited for this moment as his other teammates are now gone.
2726  Economy / Economics / Re: Stop worrying about how much energy bitcoin uses on: August 29, 2018, 04:12:15 PM
We will always have that kinds of biased articles where another industry/entity could have save this or powered that but they always fail to see that the world does not run like that way. I am tired of seeing these kinds of articles as they don't give a fair opinion about these kinds of matter, they make it feel like BTC mining is taking away a large portion of the world's overall power consumption and it has taken it away from another country/place that should be benefiting from it when they didn't, Mining Bitcoin didn't really deprived any country from their use of electricity.
2727  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1 year after Segwit. Have things improved for casinos and gambling sites? on: August 29, 2018, 03:22:37 PM
What I mostly notice is that most of the gambling sites I know instead of integrating Segwit is they added more cryptocurrencies for them to avoid the high fees during that time, not the solution what mostly wanted/demanded but it surely did the job as a lot of people accepted their solution by adding new cryptocurrencies, also the good thing about this is these sites accepted the cryptocurrencies permanently and not as a temporary solution to the high network fees of BTC.
2728  Other / Meta / Re: "Trust" system is shit !!! "Trust me !!!" on: August 28, 2018, 08:18:45 PM
To be honest I have forgotten his profile as he scammed for even a small amount and I was quite surprised of how he could spoil his trust for such small amount . Do not worry, as far as I remember he was negative tagged later . If mods can verify your ID, or you want to upload your ID like LBTC then you could be tagged with "verified" mark . Your account might get hacked anytime who knows and your positive trust could be misused . The "hack" may even be not real . However, a verified can be contacted in case of "false hack" situation .
You might just have contradicted what you are saying in your OP, him being tagged with what he did you means that the trust system still works as he paid for the consequences even if the transaction was a "small amount". Remember trading/transacting with a trusted member does not mean you can always be comfortable or carefree with him, you can always add your own precautionary measures (e.g. escrow) when you want to trade with him. Trust system might have its flaws but I am glad that it is here because it is useful in identifying the scammers and preventing the shitposters in joining most of the signature campaigns.
2729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin ecommerce payment system on: August 28, 2018, 06:45:47 PM
Please don't make customers not having Bitcoins also your problem, chances are if they don't have Bitcoin in the first place they will just cancel their order and won't go with the extra effort/hassle of buying BTC and paying it off with their credit cards just to continue with their order. As for the Bitcoin only payments to your website the easiest way to integrate Bitcoin payments is to a payment processor like Coinbase or Bitpay as they will provide you step by step on how you will integrate BTC payments for your site. Just promote your website as a Bitcoin Only E-commerce site so you don't have the wrong audience shopping in your website.
2730  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: GoX Claim Time on: August 28, 2018, 05:23:00 PM
I just found out deadline for gox rehabilitation claim is 22 October 2018 So I'm filling my claim.. but wtf.. they want your details in Kanjii? Anyone know how to deal with this bullshit. My keyboard can't handle bizarre symbols

google translate を使用する ?
Nope using google translate is a bad idea in this scenario, remember that they just translate word for word and not correct the whole sentence structure, which you are basically screwed if they don't understand what you are writing as they might consider your claim invalid. MtGox with the ridiculous requirement is obviously stalling the amount of claimants or limiting them overall. Sad to say in order to have a proper claim you must consider availing legal assistance as well as a person capable of writing a letter in Kanji so that you won't screw up your claim, you still have ample time to do so.
2731  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06-03] Bitcoin Mining Operation Powered by Hydroelectric Dam in Q4 2018 on: August 27, 2018, 09:14:51 PM
This solves the problem of "Cryptocurrency Mining is using .5% of the World's power demand" where a lot of people are making it big. Articles relating to the power demands of crypto mining always fail to show that they could be using renewable sources of energy in order not to disrupt the main source which is coal, if things goes positive with this company for cutting down cost I just hope that some lawmakers don't have some kind of crazy idea on requiring mining farms to use only renwable sources to power up their plant.
2732  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ BitGame.online ★ 100% Deposit Bonus ★ 11 Games ★ 9 Currencies Accepted ★ on: August 27, 2018, 07:14:54 PM
Currently we have one of the lowest withdrawal fee among crypto casinos.Wink
At the time of writing this message withdrawal fee for BTC is 0.00007745 BTC or 50 cents (for example Primedice withdrawal fee is 0.0001 BTC or Stake 0.0002 BTC).

So how about FortuneJack? Do you search how much their fee at? I believe they have 0 withdrawal fee on any amount, so why do you compare it with other site? I think you are suppose to make your site better from the game and not trying to compare about the fee. I know if fee becomes major problems but if there is less people play on your site, no matter how much fee you have, this wont change anything
BitGame777 did mentioned that they might now have the lowest fee and they never did mentioned that their withdrawals are for free like what FortuneJack is having so I think his statement is about right as lower fees are different from no fees at all. Its good that they are finally listening to the community but I do think you are going a little hard on them, just give them some time they might actually improve on their own eventually.
2733  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020 Bitcoin Halving Will Push Prices To $60,000 Says Bobby Lee on: August 27, 2018, 03:50:18 PM
Quote from the article provided :
Quote
He pointed out that if Bitcoin miners use up $54 million worth of electricity a day, the cryptocurrency could reach the $60,000 mark easily.
I don't know what formula he use to come up with that 60,000$ prediction as he is calling it "simple math" but I am not buying what he is predicting. Let us remember it is another halving on going and the block rewards will go down to 6.25 from 12.5 and if they are miners still mining now (at the current price point) I think the only price expectation we can achieve is the price going back above around 10,000$ to its ATH, anything more than that is something only believable in a man's fantasy. What he simply said is not a prediction backed  with "simple math" it is a prediction just to hype up the market participants.
2734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEWS Venezuela plans to create a cryptocurrency Central Bank on: August 27, 2018, 02:50:31 PM
The Venezuelan Government just simply gave up on their own Fiat Currency, which the last organization you expect to do so in a country. Just by simply creating another cryptocurrecy after Petro says so a lot and most importantly linking it to their Central Bank means that they don't see the Bolivar as their legal tender anymore. The country is heavily in debt and thinking that addding another new cryptocurrency will boost there economy they are wrong about it, with this cryptocurrencies being a reflection of Venezuela it will only give them just wild pump and dumps (they might be also the ones who are playing the prices) and not a stable growth they are hoping for.
2735  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any orientation on bitcoin investment? on: August 27, 2018, 01:41:17 PM
I would love to attend a seminar regarding bitcoin investment on how to earn on it because basing on experience as i have purchased a little amount of it seems like i had a little problem like having fear and worries as a result i end up losing my money in the end of the investment. In any case if someone had any ideas how to get a chance to get an orientation on bitcoin investment then i will give it a try.
First of if you find one in your country saying it is a orientation to a "Bitcoin Investment" program DON'T GO chances are it is a scam and will make a run for your money. I have seen a lot of this investment scams and all of it is about taking your money and they allegedly are the ones buying and selling BTC for you to profit, they'll start of blinding you with unbelievable gains which is hard to pass on so that you will give a minimum amount (big capital) of money for you to be part of the investment scheme.

I hope you get an idea, Bitcoin investment is really not a thing, you are more of a speculator/trader rather than an investor and people trying to tell you that they have a BTC investment on going it is more likely a scam as they don't know what they are talking about. The only way you will learn is if you learn cryptocurrency trading on your own, and if you are lucky you can find a orientation about trading for free which is mostly offered by Stock Brokers.
2736  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BITFAIR] bitfair.win - The Multiplayer Coin Flipping Cryptocurrency Game on: August 27, 2018, 12:01:02 PM
The slow loading page is not even fixed? It loads so fast from 0 to 90% but it gets slower after it. Also about sign up page, would you add login button or login link after the sign up processed? At the moment, you put "would you like to install mobile application" or something like that but there is no direct login link/button that force people to go back to the main page.
Encountered this problem as well, after I thought the website is done loading, it suddenly showed me a loading bar and to tell you 0-90% was bearable for me but it is really slow at least for my experience in other gambling sites, I waited around 25 seconds for it to reach 90% only to tell me some kind of error about "memory being full" which I only experienced with this website, and by the looking at other posts it seems like our internet speeds and pcs is not the one who has a problem loading the website, hopefully the website developers do some minor tweaks to fix the problem.
2737  Other / Meta / Re: Cobras recent moves and possible effects on: August 27, 2018, 10:01:41 AM
Cobra supporting BCH and developing a full node BitcoinCash does not show any conflict of interest between that and him being the domain owner of Bitcointalk and his support for BTC as well. It just shows that he just wants to help another community in preventing what they call a "civil war", which I think will help the whole cryptocurrency community overall. Plus the article is mainly focused on BitcoinCash you won't see in any part of the article that Cobra is throwing dirt on the side of BTC, let us not jump into some kind of conclusions as we really don't have something serious to start one right now.
2738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How useful is Backup against Ransomware on: August 27, 2018, 08:12:37 AM
Simple answer: No.

Periodic backups are actually the best protection mechanism against ransomware.

Once you are hit by a ransomware you basically have 3 options:
1) You pay the ransom and have to hope that you'll get the decryption key and/or the files have not been deleted (No guarantee of getting your data back).
Yup I agree with what others have said, backing up your wallet and keeping your coins offline is really the best thing you can do, because once your device is targeted by a ransomware there is really no assurance that they will unlock your device even if you paid, and even if they did unlock your device there is no guarantee that your device is clean from the malware that has been in it, they might just be cloaking their real attack by thinking that your device is malware free, and they are just waiting for their next attack once they get the sufficient data needed to steal some more from you. So in other words I really don't like the option of paying the ransomware for your device that is already compromised by them.
2739  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-25] Google Searches for ‘Bitcoin Price’ Sink to Three-Year Low on: August 26, 2018, 08:00:27 PM
The article is only mentioning some fact in one side of the story, although they completely didn't mention one important possibility that most users probably are going straight to websites like preev, coinmarketcap, and coingecko to know their prices of the cryptocurrencies especially the price of Bitcoin instead of always trying to search prices in Google. Just like me I stopped googling the words "Bitcoin Price" or "BTC to USD" when I found out and realized that it is more convenient when I go to preev.com directly. We shouldn't waste our time to this kinds of articles where they would relate anything to where BTC is right now, they just creating content in order to have more traffic to their websites.
2740  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Proposed ETF rejected by SEC - great news for the market! on: August 26, 2018, 07:13:35 PM
In the past couple of weeks I have seen a lot of articles and opinions trying to explain how Bitcoin ETFs won't really give a positive effect (If the SEC authorized one) on the common cryptocurrency market yet majority of the people here still thinks about Bitcoins ETFs as something big for the market that is why it is making waves in terms of price action for BTC and other cryptocurrencies in the market. SEC rejecting more ETFs might still give a negative effect on the market even though the truth is it is good news for us. The good news is somehow misunderstood by the majority of the people as a bad news for them that is why it is affecting the prices negatively.
