The point doesn't have to do with the math.

Well, that much is clear. But we can use math to show how full of shit you are, so that's very exciting.

"those people were going to die anyway" is false just based on the two numbers you put in the title because you and Tucker have no clue what "average" or "median" means. Or Tucker maybe does, he's probably just playing morons like you.

So what do you think? Do we use the League Manager tools and Randomize the draft order or do we use bitcoin?

I like the block hash lottery.

Seems unnecessary. I don't think anti-vaxxer maps have NZ.

But let me ask if I did misunderstand that you compared not getting vaccinated with not washing your hands after you poop and therefor implying it's question of intelligence or evolutionary retardedness to vaccinate or not?

Not sure why your first thought is "intelligence", but the point here is hygiene and more specifically - spread of certain infections. If one doesn't particularly care about that then washing hands is kinda pointless. "Naturalist" antivaxers reliant on their own immunity should probably lick their hands to build up said immunity. I hope this explains the hand-washing jab (pun intended).

As to all the other stuff that you made up (e.g. partying like it's 2019), it sounds like your own issue as it has nothing to do with what I said. I had a reply typed up but what's the point, I'm not going to (and not trying to) change anyone's mind here and it's decidedly off topic.

Let's get back to bitching about China and Elon whatshisname.
2765  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Life Expectancy = 73 | Median Covid Death Age = 80 on: July 08, 2021, 08:23:56 PM
LOL do you even math?

Life expectancy is an average age at death, not the age everybody should die at. Which by definition means that a significant number of people live longer than that. Also by definition most people who die (for any reason) are of age higher than life expectancy.

If those people die earlier than they would have without COVID-19, then life expectancy will likely go down (and it did last year). But I guess that'd make you happy because you could keep bitching "why care about 50-year-olds dying if life expectancy is 45".

Similarly median age is not the age of everyone who died, it implies that half of them were younger than 83, and data shows that ~30-40% were younger than your "deserving to die" threshold of 73.

It's exactly this kind of uninformed bullshit

Exactly. Because I said none of the bullshit that you're attributing to me. Next time try more reading and less projecting of your insecurities on others.

By the same token, just because a person has covid when they die, doesn't mean they died of covid.  It's portrayed in quite the opposite manner though; it IS a covid related death even though they may have died due to taking a shower.

That's a pervasive conspiracy theory but not really true in most cases. IIRC some states (Oregon?) at one point didn't separate deaths "from COVID-19" and "with COVID-19" but the discrepancy is minimal even if you extrapolated it to the whole country. Your own assertion that 10% of people tested positive combined with normal annual death rate (below 1%) shows that this would barely make a dent in the 600k number.

Okay, I realize people are dying with covid but excess deaths on a 5 year average which doesn't take into account shifting age demographics or increasing population doesn't show us anything that would help to answer the question I posed.  We know that around 600,000 people in the US have died while either confirmed positive with covid or considered a presumptive covid case so far - I am not questioning that.  I'm not denying that covid is real or bad.  My question was, how many lost years of life does that represent as compared to lost years of life due to the negative vaccine side effects on the entire population of earth + booster shots for the rest of our lives.  After all, we're targeting 100% vaccination while only about 10% of the US population has tested positive for covid-19 and the mRNA technology is new and still experimental.

Death rates are quite stable year to year except for events like swine flue and now COVID-19. CDC data on this is quite extensive so if you can find something there to support your hypothesis please share. I don't really see anything like that. Even if you take VAERS numbers as vaccine-caused deaths (gross exaggeration) it's still quite obvious that the vaccine dramatically (~ ten-fold) reduces the risk of death or complications from COVID-19 and that is true among all age groups. Why would anyone not take a lower chance of death over a higher chance is quite puzzling but that's the funky times we live in.

I don't want to speak for amishmanish again, but I'm pretty sure by "old guard" he means long-time members of bitcointalk.  Amishmanish registered in 2017, so both Lauda and TMAN probably seem like they've been around since the beginning, even though they both registered in April 2013 (4 days apart, which I never realized....hmmm).  Come to think of it, they might know each others' identities quite well.

TMAN traded on the forum quite a lot so his identity is probably known to some folks, particularly in collectibles. Not that it matters really. If someone leaves quietly and doesn't owe anyone, why would we need to know anything about them or the circumstances of their departure.

İf I dont want to take that vaccine then I dont want it. İt should be my choice.

Except for the part where you infect others.

The trouble is, loudest antivaxers tend to be loudest antimaskers and generally anti-everything that could stop the pandemic. If you just picked a lane and decided whether you want to be part of the society or sit holed up at home licking your hands instead of washing them after you poop, I would fully support your choice.

VAERS reports say 5700 deaths post vaccine in the USA alone

I'm sure a lot of people die within 24 hours of taking a shower but that doesn't mean showers are deadly. Here is what VAERS site itself says about the data:

When evaluating data from VAERS, it is important to note that for any reported event, no cause-and-effect relationship has been established. Reports of all possible associations between vaccines and adverse events (possible side effects) are filed in VAERS. Therefore, VAERS collects data on any adverse event following vaccination, be it coincidental or truly caused by a vaccine. The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not documentation that a vaccine caused the event.

It's essentially an alert system for CDC to start investigating any potential issues. 5000+ people die in the US every day and with more than half of the population vaccinated most of those deaths will have occurred after a vaccination. That doesn't mean there is a causal link.

We won't know until the dust settles which deaths were more unacceptable.  Will the number of months of life saved using the vaccine be greater than the number of years of life lost by the same vaccine?  Since they're already talking about annual booster shots, this might be something we need to consider.  Maybe we'll never do the math because it could only ever be speculation on either side of the equation.

There is no need to speculate. Excess deaths - the number of deaths compared to prior years - tells the story.

so.. me with 4 months to go.. huh

then apparently im waaaaaaay behind on hookers lambos and blow

That's it, we found the culprit. Lambo dealers are obviously behind this "you'll die in 6 months" bullshit. Well, the joke's on them, I'm getting a McLaren.

That future war amazon flick with C. Pratt any good?

Very weak plot stretched to 2 hours. Ok, I still have 20 minutes left so maybe it gets magically brilliant before the end.

Wait!  I know it!  Global warming?!?

Or just go to Mars. Earth is shit anyway.
2774  Other / Meta / Re: Important to give merit Newbie/jr member. on: July 07, 2021, 01:31:30 AM
I do more research so that I can get more merit.

You've clearly done zero research on this topic. Merits don't decrease, 100 merits doesn't mean anything, and you can't coerce anyone to send merits to someone else, but with 100+ merit sources and thousands of other merit-sending users you just need to participate in the forum - not "so that [you] can get more merit" but genuinely take part in discussions - and you'll get those merits.

Except you don't even need them... you can happily post without merits like thousands of users did before merits even existed.

Just curious,  are alts allowed?

Well, it says "you cannot..." so I'm guessing only Quickseller's own alts are allowed:

Not really worried, but looking forward to the end of that 6-month period... Damn!  Shocked

Considering that vaccination in the US started in December and was ramping up quite fast in January (6+ months ago) it's obvious that this particular conspiratardery needs to be revised.

I'm only a couple of months in. I'll let you know if I'm dead by November.
2778  Economy / Reputation / Re: Forum made Legendary Member - PrimeNumber7 on: July 06, 2021, 12:43:12 AM
Is that how you judge if something someone says about someone is true? They didn't deny it, therefore it must be true. That is an interesting way of judging people. Normally, it is up to the accuser to prove their point, not the accused to prove their innocence.

Surely this should be very easy for Lauda to dispel this by simply denying that he has a pill addiction. However he has failed to do this. Why do you think Lauda would not quickly deny that he is addicted to pills?

So why would Quickseller not quickly (LOL) deny that he is quickpuppeting the PrimeNumber7 account?

If you have Daddy issues, and need validation, please seek therapy, and don't take it out in this thread.

Dear daddy, this thread is my therapy so shut your trap before I tell mommy what you did to me.

To answer my own question as to why Quickseller would need to rank up an account to Legendary:  He's likely trying to start fresh with another account that doesn't have red trust so voluminous that it could paint a street full of houses--but as with his other alts, he basically got caught by his own writing style.

The thing is - and I think I posted something to that effect in nutildah's alt-busting thread - that in the ~5 years since the escrow fiasco he (Quicksy) would likely have been able to do a fresh start in an honest way.

But he seems to be uninterested in or incapable of admitting that sleazy sockpuppeting is a problem, and he's betting that most signature drones in this thread and elsewhere on the forum don't really have the attention span to notice his scheming. And winning that bet bigly.

All we can do is hope that he spent those 5 years just to get to the point of being able to earn $100 per week (or whatever it is) in a signature campaign and not to run a proper long con.

Wow, you made it to Legendary daaaang quick, with an activity of 868!  Congratulations, PrimeNumber7, you earned it.

Quick. Yeah. LOL.

You're an example to any newcomer

Calling Quicksy an example of anything other than lying and sockpuppeting and lying about sockpuppeting is an insult to every honest forum member.

Sorry (not really) to rain on your parade Quick7 but nutildah seems to be asleep and it has to be done.
