Then like major league baseball the winning (stupor bowl) team are “world champions” even though only American teams compete.

MLB champions are World Series champions, not world champions, named after a series originally sponsored by the New York World newspaper. Also the Toronto Blue Jays are not an American team.

At least if someone brushes up against baseball players, they don't fall down clutching their knees to their chests crying like little girls until a penalty is awarded and then jump up laughing. Try that in baseball and you'd be asking for a fastball to the ribcage. In hockey the opposing team wouldn't even have to do anything. The referee would call a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Superbowl Sunday
With all the new commercials
And lame halftime show.

A disappointment
For all those who might have cared...
A missed extra point.

Pitchers and catchers
Report to spring training camp
In just three more days.

It's almost the time
For the the boys of summer.
Let the seasons turn.

At least Bitcoin's price
Is continuing upward...
Forty eight grand plus.

As if I need any more excuses not to get out of house...

C'mon. The only reason to get out of the house is to text people on a cellphone.

You don't want to actually interact with real humans do you? Ewww, that's gross.

You must be a boomer.

 Cheesy

Just noticed we hit 33000 pages.

Wow. Remember what a big deal it was to reach 1000 pages?

All I want to know is... can I still buy Alpaca socks with bitcoin?

Good question. 4 years ago Grasshill said they were selling socks for Bitcoin again. They're the original Bitcoin alpaca socks people who started the whole Bitcoin-alpaca connection.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/g7fgak/theyre_back_you_can_buy_alpaca_socks_with_bitcoin/

Their current website makes no mention though.

Maybe email them.

You all know this doesn't have legs right? I don't think there's been a better sell signal in all of history for anything.

Look who’s back!

The alpaca is backa.

Edit: Some people still don't know the difference between an alpaca and a llama.

Some here remember the infamous bearwhale (who dumped 30K btc at $330 in 2014).
Who knows why? maybe needed 10 mil back then Grin, but it is $1.4 bil now, haha.
Here is a reference, but I remember it as it was yesterday (crazy action):

https://news.bitcoin.com/8-years-ago-today-bitcoin-traders-slayed-the-infamous-bear-whale-who-dumped-30000-btc-in-a-single-trade/

EDIT: that guy crawled back to the market at $1000, lol.
EDIT2: Another point to make is that although the community rightfully celebrated, the price dipped to around $170-175 in about three months and then revisited around $200, many months later in Aug 2015 or thereabout, but the bearwhale did NOT buy that dip.

I remember it well. I was glued to my monitor the whole time.

Explanation
Chartbuddy thanks talkimg.com

Hey Richy.

So many people here seem to think that Chartbuddy has something to do with the price.

Perhaps you could include the price in Chartbuddy.

You don't have to omit the most recent bids and asks. Simply include the most recent trade price.

You could reduce the size of the bid and ask prices to make room for a larger most recent actual trade price number in the middle.

The best way to profit is to take your profits in Bitcoin not fiat currencies.
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: February 08, 2024, 04:23:53 PM
Bitcoin have suffered 2 huge crashes at 2018 and 2021...

Not to mention the great crashes of 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.

It's Bitcoin. That's what Bitcoin does.

PETA targets Kansas merry-go-round maker over animal-themed carousels
https://www.foxnews.com/us/peta-targets-kansas-merry-go-round-maker-animal-themed-carousels

"PETA implored Aaron Landrum, the president and CEO of Chance Rides, in a letter on Tuesday to end its production of animal-themed carousels and instead produce figures in the shape of cars, airplanes, spaceships, bulldozers and other vehicles."

We should get Greta Thunberg on their case.

Yep. Let's glorify spewing carbon into the atmosphere with fossil-fuel burning machines.

Shoddy thinking. Sounds like vitamin B12 deficiency to me. Maybe this will help:

Sounds like too much tobacco!
I never had anxiety problems, even from THC-heavy (+10%) weed as long as i vaped it (and that are quite some years now).
However, when i was smoking it with tobacco in my younger years, i experienced lots of anxiety.

Occasionally, there are some studies that oerate on basis of pure substance use, and some are cross-comparable to surveys, where most participants are smoking the weed, where you can directly calculate the much lower addiction potential and much safer side-effect profile of "purified" cannabis usage. I did this in the past, my personal experience also confirms the result and numbers ususally don't lie.

Tobacco? What's that got to do with it?

There's no indication that tobacco was involved in any of the studies being discussed here. I was talking about the ratio of cannabidiol (a natural anti-psychotic) to THC in cannabis, nothing to do with tobacco.

Also 10% THC is not THC-heavy by today's standards. Many if not most high-THC strains are now over 20% THC. It's when the CBD levels are <5% that anxiety becomes a problem.

You didn't mention what the CBD levels were in your "THC-heavy (+10%) weed". A nice 10% CBD/10% THC balance shouldn't create any anxiety.

https://globalnews.ca/news/10275463/cannabis-anxiety-ontario-study/

Cannabis use linked to anxiety diagnoses, worsened anxiety disorders: Ontario study
By Camille Bains  The Canadian Press

"Cannabis use may increase the risk of developing a new anxiety disorder or worsen existing anxiety, a large Ontario study suggests.

The study looked at health data of 12 million people between January 2008 and March 2019 and found that 27.5 per cent of people who visited an emergency room for cannabis use developed an anxiety disorder for the first time within three years.

Lead author Dr. Daniel Myran, an adjunct scientist at the research institute ICES, said that in comparison, 5.6 per cent of the general population sought help for anxiety in an ER or outpatient setting over three years.
...
"

Sounds like too much THC and not enough CBD. Cannabidiol acts as an antipsychotic.

When high-THC low-CBD strains first started appearing in the 1970s, I found them extremely unpleasant. I called them poison weed because they made me paranoid. I preferred legacy strains with a balanced cannabinoid profile.

People who simply wanted to get blasted loved the new strains. They loved the disorientation they produced. Some of us preferred strains that were more transcendental and less crazy.

Did these studies take the cannabinoid makeup of their samples into consideration? Many people used to think that "the active ingredient in cannabis is THC" and ignored all the other constituents.

Yes, THC can produce anxiety. But there's more to it than that.
299  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 06, 2024, 10:51:27 PM
This may seem related to bitcoin speculation but it is not bitcoin speculation at all. We are not speculation on bitcoin price but to know if someone can know if he or she can go up to 100 push ups before bitcoin hit six digits. This belongs to off-topic.

At least it's about real Bitcoin and not crypto-crapto altcoins. They're what belong in off-topic.
