HAH! I got it! I got the pool proxy running correctly (even with Long-Polling)!

If anyone wants to help test the new proxy set your miner to port 80! It should just redirect you for now to the current pool as that is everyone's default.

If anyone want's to give the new site or proportional pool a trial run, visit beta.simplecoin.us

There are a few tiny issues still, mostly stats reporting, but soon the new framework will be in place Smiley

Sounds like you've been working away!
Can't wait for it!

On another note:
LETS FIND A BLOCK!!!

This update is easily as big of an update as v1-v5 was, if not bigger!
283  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS] SIMPLECOIN.US - A Friendly, Honest, Open Source Pool on: September 19, 2011, 04:05:30 AM
Ok, the new framework is SOOO close now.

I just need to figure out how to script a perl module for nginx to handle the multi-pool proxying through one port.

The proportional btc pool is actually up and running already for testing. You just can't see the stats yet (I can though on the test site Wink )

The database is already merged for the new version as well. The pool has been running steady on it for awhile.

The stats reporting is quite different as it's tough to have it all on a dashboard readout. That said, each pool will have detailed stats along with an overall stats page. Top hashrates will be viewable by pool, and overall.

The other portions of stats and payout are grouped by currency, so all your coins can be paid out in one place.

I was wondering: Are there were any plans to implement merged mining with namecoin here when the time comes?

With the new framework I will happily implement new coins as requested.
285  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS] SIMPLECOIN.US - A Friendly, Honest, Open Source Pool on: September 16, 2011, 09:29:51 PM
My rejects have spiked recently? Anyone else having this issue?

Pool wide is still under 1%..... Mine sit at 0.2%

You may want to restart your miners, to make sure they are on the new server. The old server is still up, but the new one is far more efficient.
286  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS] SIMPLECOIN.US - A Friendly, Honest, Open Source Pool on: September 16, 2011, 05:50:20 PM
I say work on the new software. I'm happy with my 7 mil  Smiley

Agreed.

I just added the lifetime shares for the top 30 for a total of about 61 million shares.  With the 15 blocks on record that suggests that each block took, on average, over 4 million shares.  Something is definitely wrong here but it's not so important to fix right now.

I'm really just hoping for a period of relative stability.

The archive delete command didn't ever fire, so it recounted the past round about 4 times.

No big deal! I was just pointing it out is all!

Carry on! :-)

It's either fix that or get the new customized pool software finished Wink
288  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS] SIMPLECOIN.US - A Friendly, Honest, Open Source Pool on: September 15, 2011, 10:05:09 PM
No! The stats page lifetime shares have doubled, at least!
I'm at 4M shares, when I was at 1.8M last night! That's some hashing that I don't think I can pull off! Wink

No way, you totally did...

.... or maybe it looks like the 7million row delete failed to fire off and got counted a few times Wink

If it really bothers anyone, I'm happy to do the work to sort it properly.
289  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS] SIMPLECOIN.US - A Friendly, Honest, Open Source Pool on: September 15, 2011, 09:08:31 PM
Wow! Is something wrong with the lifetime shares? We should be at about 10mil shares so far this round! Cheesy

I think you mean last round, that was the terrible beast....

290  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS][BTC/SC] SIMPLECOIN.US - Round From Hell is OVER! on: September 14, 2011, 05:32:29 PM
With the current threat of an SC meltdown, I will be taking the SC pool offline at block 35250.

I will bring it back up once the new client is released.
This means everyone back to BTCs for a few weeks.

I think SC has caused this pool more harm than benefit with all of the issues that client crashing has had on the BTC pool.

Maybe..... or it could have been the 6million share round, or one of many things.

It did lock pushpool, and eventually lock the bitcoin client with it. However, there were some high donations made by the solidcoin miners. The pool almost looked profitable for a minute there. The steady feed of solidcoins helped my variance during the round from hell as well.

I'll most likely support solidcoins again once the network returns. If the new client is troublesome I can just put it on a different box.

www.simplecoin.us is up. Thanks. its not like the old days. 24+ hours for dns to propagate

Yes, all the www/replication services are on one machine now. 3 old servers were replaced by the new one. It was nice to finally decommission the others. Renting 6 servers is pricey.
292  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30GHs][0 Fees][PPLNS][BTC/SC] SIMPLECOIN.US - Round From Hell is OVER! on: September 13, 2011, 07:45:50 PM
Is the sire down/being moved to the new one?

It is moved. godaddy had a dns blip on www when I moved it back momentarily.

If www.simplecoin.us doesn't work simplecoin.us should. Both will be back once dns propagates.

3DMark Advanced sent to Guppy1509!

At least until I have other coins available Wink

I'm writing a lightweight pool proxy as we speak.

This new framework is going to be a beast.

296  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Pushpool Web Frontend] Simplecoin v5.0 Opensource PHP/MySQL - NEW RELEASE on: September 13, 2011, 02:58:23 PM
Hello everyone,

I set all the parameters of my previous scripts and everything works fine, but I want to move to this one because I prefer this script, but I get the following error:

Fatal error: Uncaught BitcoinClientException:
  • : Connect error: Connection refused (111) thrown in on line 0

bitcoind working on port 8332
Workers have a communication with a pushpoold on 8341 and 8344 port.

I entered all that is needed in requiredFunctions.php, and tried different ports but still get that error.

What could be the problem?

Thank you in advance for your reply,

You should have port 8332 set then. Also, make sure the calling machine has access in the bitcoin.conf file as well as the firewall.
297  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Pushpool Web Frontend] Simplecoin v5.0 Opensource PHP/MySQL - NEW RELEASE on: September 13, 2011, 02:56:49 PM
Sorry I've been AWOL from this thread, but between developing the new version and my best friends marriage things have been hectic.

The new version is so close to stable. The current slowdown is the creation of a dynamic long-polling proxy to use with the new frontend.

YAY!

Now to find this guppy character and give him his 3dmark reward!

Hopefully now that the round from hell is over we can get this pool back to growing.

The new frontend is getting closer every day....

Moving some of the websites to their new home. The forum has already been moved.

I'll leave the old ones up for a few days for DNS to propagate. If you get any strange website errors, it's likely that it is just moving pains.

It should go without a hitch, but just thought I'd keep you all informed.

So now that the forum is back we can go back to complaining about not finding a block.

At least the solidcoin pool isn't having the same luck.... damn, we need some ultra-luck... like 5-back-to-back blocks.
