Take a look at the Byteball airdrop! community is strong cus the airdrop is fair!!! and it's growing like mad. BTX devs are just talking about that fucking top 1000. well, feed your toptop 1000...i would shill Monacoin instead. Same price and mucho rooms to go!!!

how many BTX does it take to be top 1000?

probably still possible to buy your way into top 1000.  imo stop complaining and get in the top 1000 while you can.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 09, 2017, 02:15:04 PM
Just to confirm--while you need to link BTC addresses to receive airdrop of bytes/blackbytes, the airdrop on existing GBYTE holders requires no linking--is that correct?

In other words, if a friend sends me some bytes to a new address, I don't have to link that address or anything, I'll just receive 0.2 bytes per byte tonight, right?

No.
Your GByte address needs to be linked to a bitcoin address (even if empty).   If you haven't moved your GByte, then you're already linked since you got them from a prior distrobution.  If in question, just check the transition site to see if your byteball is linked.

Now, if a friend sends to a NEW byteball receiving, then you must link to a bitcoin address (even if the btc addy is empty).  That's how it's been explained to me several times, and linking only takes a minute, so not going to risk not getting a bonus of 20%

I received the 20% byte bonus to an unlinked byteball address.  Shocked Grin
seems you don't need to link them!

No, they are totally separate blockchains. To claim your BTX, you must go to the claiming service mentioned in the OP and follow the instructions. The snapshot was taken of the Bitcoin blockchain on block 463604, which happened on 04/26/2017. You must claim with an address that you can make a signature with that had Bitcoins at the moment of the snapshot.

i know they are separate blockchains, but don't they use same address format for pub/priv key?

if you want strong hodlers and larger market cap, consider BTC airdrop

just to confirm--you can send BTX to BTC address?  and you can import BTC private key into BTX client to retrieve BTX sent to that address?
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 08, 2017, 08:33:33 PM
It's not only about distribution model, Byteball is quite innovative and disruptive.

touché  Grin

Gigabayte price in the market seems to be too high for those who are interested in investment to this project. I believe megabayte needs to be available on popular exchange services which will get more attention. Also, more reasonable prices will make it more attractive to Byteball. Although everyone talks about megabyte, i wonder whether or not blackbyte will enter to market soon? I suppose it is tradable just like other coins. Or am i missing a point here about Blackbyte?

totally agree.. buying 1000 $1 coins is much easier than buying 1 $1000 coin psychologically for many people.

is there a general consensus on price for blackbyte yet?

theres gonna be a bunch of coins copying this distribution model
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does an airdropped coin get's its value? on: July 08, 2017, 08:00:37 PM
I am just curious, how an airdropped coin actually gets it's value.

people buy it

So how would an airdrop then work in that case? How does it have to be structured that it's a win win situation for both parties involved.

if the coin is useful, people will buy and hold/use.

sounds interesting
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 07, 2017, 10:37:56 PM
it seems the Sweep Private Key function is 'unimplemented'.. so basically you wanna run Byteball on air-gapped offline computer, do a full wallet backup, encrypt the file, save the public key from that wallet, and give that to transition bot on online computer (along with signed copy of public key from offline wallet, signed with your bitcoin private key).  This seems like easiest way to do cold storage, eh?

in the future there should be a way to generate public/private key pairs with byteball on offline computer, so that you can sweep private key with online computer or something else (like sign transaction offline, then put that transaction has on online computer or something).

(i cant find my byteball private keys)

byteball just updated their website? or they got hacked?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 07, 2017, 03:54:27 PM
are waves airdrops proportional to the number of Waves Community Tokens you hold, or do people do airdrops to anybody with account?

have any of the airdrops so far been non-garbage?

296  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: July 07, 2017, 03:23:30 PM
Some people don't agree with the rules or think it's shady/destructive behaviour. It's a similar situation with Scammers and account sellers. Neither behaviour will get you banned from here but it will likely get you negative feedback.

Something needs to be done about account farming though because it's gotten way out of hand. Admins rarely seem to look into any cases either. There's literally hundreds of spam accounts copying and pasting and shitposting away in the Chinese sections and as soon as they hit the required rank they all join a shitcoin ico campaign and start spamming even more.

interesting. i agree with your and others arguments.  it's surprising that theymos doesn't ban account farming after seeing this:

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections, but the giveaway-related post volume is so high in the altcoin sections that I've decided to just ban them entirely here.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] UR - Distributed Via A World-wide Airdrop, Based on Ethereum on: July 07, 2017, 03:13:56 PM
is UR still getting airdropped?
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: July 07, 2017, 02:26:58 PM
Can someone tell me how can I earn claims with my old bitcoin wallets?

Start by reading the Original Post.

it just says:
Quote
CLAIM FREE CLAMs

CLAIMING FREE CLAMs IS EASY!

Just click file -> import wallet!

i agree a more detailed explanation would be nice..

edit:

http://clamclient.com/learn/import/

looks like you have to import bitcoin wallet.. distribution seems to be based on the number of non-dust addresses you controlled in 2014.. 4.6 CLAMs per address (non-dust) you controlled.. seems like a bizarre way to distribute an airdrop.
