Does anyone know of a CPU miner being developed for this krypto? I'd like to mine but have no GPU rigs just now.

How long before a balance becomes unlocked after sending coins? I sent 200 with mixin 1. My balance is -200, but another 273 have also become locked currently. I assume this is just how it works (excuse my ignorance), but I'm curious when I'll have those coins unlocked for use again.

Also, if for example, I had only 200XMR, would I even be able to send them all to another address? From this previous transaction I've done, it would seem I'd need extra coins available in my wallet (i.e. the 273 I mentioned before).

Frankly, I find the suggestion morally dubious. Those funds were sent to Poloniex to trade, that they cannot be linked to an account through human error does not free them up for us to take. Those funds belong to the people that sent them to Poloniex, and we have no way of knowing who they are or how important those funds are to those individuals.

If Poloniex choose to take some independent action and donate the funds we won't stop them (nor would we even know it was them who donated unless they tell us), but if we go kick up a storm, demanding the funds, what do we do if in 6 months time someone comes along and says "oh dear, those funds I thought were on Poloniex actually aren't!"

You're quick to accuse us of "passive problem solving", but if the alternative is borderline theft then I'd rather take the accusation of being passive.

+1

A discussion worth having might be for someone to suggest to Poloniex that they have something in their T&C (if they don't already) which gives users a time frame to claim their Monero back before it is a) kept by Poloniex b) donated to XMR development c) 50/50 or other split of a&b.

You're lucky or must have had a great support person to work with. Unfortunately, i also put in tickets. Even though they can see the transaction (TX ID) they never deposited them to my account. It's not a lot, 80 total. Just a crappy lesson learned.

This is unacceptable. Poloniex shouldn't get away with it and I'm surprised it's happened, as I too have been awarded my XMR after sending without Payment ID. If this happens to users, posting here would maybe give devs/community members the chance to put pressure on Poloniex.

Does the upcoming GUI have a drop down/tick box/prompt re Payment ID's? Hopefully it will and this should become a non-issue.

Anyone want to try this out? Windows executables.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/105316582/cpuminer-multi-128M_scratch.zip
It has experimental avx and avx2 binaries. Only tried them in wine in linux, so don't know if they'll work on real hardware. Virtualbox doesn't support avx extensions, so I couldn't even test the executables there.

I wouldn't use it. Just download the latest build which I think includes the 128MB scratchpad from the github: https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/cpuminer-multi

thinking about buying some more monero so please someone sell and drive the price down. k thanks Smiley

Let's see if I can help....

There is NO (official) GUI!
And the database isn't done!
And it takes all my windows xp memory!
And there is no druggy bazaar!
And Crypto Kingdom is a ponzi!
And Risto is manipulating the market!
And at any moment BCX's moonbeamwarp exploit attack will materialize!

And... and... and...

Is it going down?

is it true?

It was sarcasm.

If you want truth, look to https://forum.monero.cc and the new https://getmonero.org website.

I dont think there is a need to move the forum from forum.monero.cc to monero.cc but a link to the forum on the monero.cc page would not hurt.

https://forum.monero.cc/20/general-discussion/159/move-this-subdomain-forum-monero-cc-to-a-full-domain-like-moneroforum-org-or-any-other-you-can-think-of

I propose to move the forum on forum.monero.cc, to a full domain name. Initially, even I was confused as to where the monero forum hosted by the core team would be, until I realized it was a subdomain"forum.monero", that was it's URL. If the forum was hosted on a full domain, it'd be much easier for newcommers to remember(and go back to), rather than a subdomain(which a lot of people aren't familiar with).

bump

I agree that there should be a stand out link to the forum from the main monero.cc webpage. Shouldn't take but a minute to do for the site admin

XMR.TO
Pay any Bitcoin address. Anonymously, using Monero.

Hey people,

arnuschky, a friend, and I made this new service called XMR.TO. It allows you to pay any Bitcoin address in a fully anonymous fashion using Monero.
Payment is nearly instant, so you can use it to pay bitpay bills, or any of your other bitcoin purchases.

Have a look at the website, it explains all the details: https://xmr.to

We're still in beta. In case of problems or suggestions, don't hesitate to contact us or just reply in the dedicated thread. Any feedback of course welcome!

Good work. Is it truly anonymous though when you have to create the transaction via the website, which could be logging your IP address?

It'd be anonymous if you use it via Tor I suppose. Any chance you could set up an eepsite (i2p) with the same functionality?

It is very good service, as people do not need to use exchangers.
Only, the price is already 10% reduced.

Thanks! Smiley Not sure what you mean by the 10% though...

Price on xmr.to is not the same as at exchanges. I think that's what they mean.

Great, ta very much

Edit: I get an error with this command. "The wallet is non-deterministic. Cannot display seed." Best to just create new wallet and send funds there? I'd like to have this seed words recovery option available to me if I need it at some stage.

I have access to my wallet, but did not note down the seed words (not sure if that's the correct term) when I created it. Is there a command to show me these seed words while I have my wallet open?

Thanks

I'm having trouble with bitmonerod on Win7/64 - it hangs on initializing the P2P server. From bitmonerod.log:

Code:
2014-Dec-09 09:45:42.550851 bitmonero v0.8.8.6-release
2014-Dec-09 09:45:42.550851 Module folder: C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\bitmonero\bitmonerod.exe
2014-Dec-09 09:45:42.551851 Initializing P2P server...

It stayed like this for about 15 minutes before I gave up waiting. In this meanwhile, bitmonerod uses about 4 MB of RAM and has no CPU usage. Any clues?

Seems it does start at some point, after two long delays. Here's some logging:

Unable to mine with Titan. Pool doesn't accept share, or give me work, or something...

Since the coin is 100% PoS now, you might want to try mining at the official Jumbucks multipool.

Here is the URL:
http://mp.getjumbucks.com

You can mine using SHA256, Scrypt or X11.

Thank you for your interest.

Thanks Julian. This is actually the pool I tried. I don't think it likes the Titan Sad

Maybe if we had some clear info of what Magnus needs and what needs to be done we could move on and get everything together, and not just starting emailing him with "Hi, I heard you wanna sue KNC.."

Where to start?

I am from the UK. I actually think it is best that each person emails Magnus directly since he won't act for anyone without some kind of payment, and this must be arranged first. In his reply to me today he said:

"If you purchased the product as a consumer, you have the right to cancel the purchase according to Swedish law. If you are a private consumer the seller can’t deny you this right legally. We can assist you in writing to the company with a legal claim, explaining to them on what grounds they have to refund you. If they haven’t done that in a week I would like to inform them that I have been instructed by you to sue them in court to retrieve the money."

"However, there seem to be a number of disappointed customers who have requested our assistance which will drive down the legal costs..... I can keep you updated on how the costs develop along the way. I will also keep you posted if there is an opportunity for a group law suit, when I have communicated with all the disappointed KnC-customers, that have e-mailed me over the last few days."

Have you told them about the part of the T&C where you agreed that we weren't purchasing as a consumer?

This is exactly the question I asked in my reply, but have not yet had an answer. I suspect that this is an unfair condition to have in the T&C, since it is mentioned nowhere else on KnCMiner's website and is not made clear at any point during the purchase.

The "consumers right to cancel" is not the point I am pushing in my request for a refund. Whether a consumer or a business, KnC have not delivered on their contractual obligations and falsely advertised the product. In my opinion they will need to refund customers.
