You have to have cheap electricity, I have 4 cents electricity and have never had a one of my 100 GPUs be unprofitable and some are 3 years old.

What happened to progpow? Not sure why anyone would build / buy and ASIC with the threat of progpow. Or maybe progpow is like pos, never going to happen.

Hello,
I have Antminer Z11 powered by apw3+, I bought an apw7 and would like to use both to power the Z11. Is it possible to do this? I thought of something like powering two boards with an apw7 and one with apw3+ for example, but I m not sure about that.
I know that the apw3+ alone is suitable, but i would like to overclock the Z11.
Thanks.
Just do not power the same boards with the two different psus. I run my z11s around 140 anything higher they shut off, I assume I need more power to over clock higher. I'm running it on 240 so its pulling over 1,600 watts. I think if you run it very high it uses a lot more juice per hash.

this might work Bob can also withdraw to any of his 2nd or 3rd bank account and deposit over the counter to his ATM account that Adam has to use in the USA Bob can also request to increase withdrawal limit to his ATM so the 'abroad withdrawal fee' for Adam (Bob's ATM card) can be minimized over all. some banks charge higher withdrawal fee abroad, choosing the right bank to withdraw is a must. Not legal I don't want to run under the radar. Simply not my style. I will knock out the paper work and shut the business down this year. Only way to go. are you going to shutdown your solar mining farm?

Makes me want to change my way of cashing out. Mine to non-us exchanges without kyc access the exchanges using a vpn. Convert everything to zec then send to a shielded address zec wallet. Then send to coinbase in large chunks to cash out, this way its easy to report and the ass hats can't trace it backward.
I haven't done the above because i'm too lazy and report my gains anyway. But I do not like the idea of the government being trace my crypto.
I don't mind reporting as I have not made a ton of money. What I do mind is that it kills my business plan as a simple thing like the following example buy a 2 card rig direct from hp.com with a cc or PayPal. pretend it was 2k so cost of goods sold = 2k mine for 3 months earn 500 spend 200 in power means a gain of 300 rig was really 1700 for cost of goods. I consistently treated the mining profit as an exotic rebate for years why did I do this the asshole government gave no guidance for years. now lets say I sold the rig for btc pretend it was in Jan 2018 when gear was high in price. I got 2400 in btc. I said cost of goods was 1700 my profit was 700. it really was 700 profit. that 1 deal will now need four or five pages of paperwork . and I have yet to mention that I have the 2400 in my wallet which is technically an account. moved it to coinbase let it sit a bit moved it to GDAX sold it moved the cash back to coinbase let it sit a bit. after all fees etc I moved 2350 cash to my bank. so my real and true profit is only 650. Which is what I reported. Not going to work that way for them I will need to redo every single gear sale I did for years.last 3 years maybe 100,000 in sales of gear with a profit of 10,000 will need 3 tax returns plus next years return so 4 returns with 100 plus pages of reporting for each one. So this will effectively end all purchases and sales of gear with any coin for me. And I think I need to redo 2016, 2017 ,2018 returns because they are not reported the way they want although I paid the proper taxes or very close to the proper taxes. I will be posting here as this goes on. And may seem some gear with cash payment to people I trust down the road. I have to see how this develops. That's crazy I would talk to an accountant, I assume you use are a schedule C? Really reinforces the need for for an account that is not linked to do buying and selling and only using coinbase to cash out.

Note this applies to USA and the IRS
Talking about record keeping I was sent a letter from IRS they said when I filed for 2018 I left out an account.
I realized I send all my coinbase info as usual and said to myself WTF are they talking about. I did some checking and found they are looking for my gdax- now pro-coinbase info for 2018
It won't cost me money as my usage of gdax was not trading as much as cheaper fees to convert coinbase btc to cash
My typical thing was
1)move 0.100 btc from coinbase to gdax 2)sell the 0.1000 btc on gdax 3)move the cash to coinbase 4)withdraw the cash to bank account
or
1) move cash from coinbase to gdax 2) buy btc or ltc at gdax 3) send btc or ltc to coinbase 4) buy gear from bitmain with that btc or ltc
They now want all my gdax/pro-coinbase record from 2018 (all older years have zero trades with gdax/pro.coinbase)
2018 mostly was a down year. I had losses most of the year. So I know sending the info will mean my capital gain(loss in reality) carryover will go from 1800 usd to say 2500
But the paperwork involved appears to be nuts crazy and or wacko. Truing the info involves matching it to my coinbase data filed with irs.
So while I saved fees I think this will take a week to do.
I thought that gdax info was included with my coinbase tax info It is not and it needs to be sent in a new
this seems like a massive headache. It is unreal. Lets say you pulled 950usd in btc (ie 1 btc) from coinbase moved it to gdax/procoinbase list it at a limit price of 9500 (when coins are at 9300) and It takes six transactions to sell it in 3 minutes as prices fluxed up and down rapidly . After 3 minutes you have 9500 usd minus fees say 9490 net. you move the cash back to coinbase then send it to your bank. Pretty simple you spent 5 minutes to basically sell a coin for 9490 after fees. it generates about 17 lines of info for basically a single sale. (which was reported incorrectly as a single sale by me) I now need to show all 6 micro sales for that deal. It appears I have about 200 transactions on gdax but they generated around 5 or 6 micro transactions. so I need show say 6 x 200 = 1200 micro transactions. Any easier way to cash out to dollars? Last year Coinbase sent me a 1099 saying I had 1.5 million in sales, lol. I just downloaded all transactions into a spreadsheet and totaled it.

I'm getting 11,000 mh/s on nicehash, all boards working.

Hi,
Anyone knows how to connect the Zig Z1 Pro to the power supply?
There is no manual at their website zigminer.com, my package from Coin Mining Central also contains no manual...
Thanks Vinncent
I used 2 antimatter PSUs and all the connections are the same as long as you don't power a board with 2 different PSUs you are good to go.

Hey all, as BTC price has been increasing, daily earning with Vii have been slightly increasing also. Do you think it's still worth to push these cards to the highest limit possible; DaggerHashimoto @ 91 MH/s . Earnings go to around £1.90-£2 each GPU. But the temp also increases to around 95-100 degrees. I know it would be very bad in the long term and the lifespan won't be much long.
Not just this card. But no, why should you aim for best hashrate, not the most efficient? You'll get more returns after your electicity bill if you aim for efficency. I believe that is a common misconception. If you've secured a low enough electricity pricing with your current power company, you can still make better profits (after the power bill) while happily burning away electricity. The whole point is about finding a balance of revenue vs. efficiency vs. electricity rates. With my rates I have no problem running my 7's all at or above 90MH/s in an open air rig. At 90 mhz how hot are your cards, I'm running mine at 75 mhz because they get so hot.

I have 4 dead Radeon VIIs. After I rebooted my rig 4 of 8 Radeon VIIs would not hash or show u in in SimpleOS. I replaced riser, replaced the psu and tried plugin one straight into the modo and nothing. I'm running out of ideas, could I have cooked 4 crads? They ran fine for a 6 weeks around 83 degrees. No idea why 4 cards would stop working after a reboot.

Will it work with the z9? What if I have a license for the z9 software, I forget how to update.

Time to hedge mining income was 2018 when most minable altcoins lost 95 percent value. Too late to hedge now unless your a puss and deserve no big gains in the future
Not now but next time the market turns hedge 1 years worth of mining income.

POWER SUPPLIES (PSU) RUN BEST AT 50-70% LOAD--
Running a power supply at max load will wear it out prematurely. And, a cheap PSU at max load can fail with a fire hazard because they may be improperly rated. A 2000W cheap PSU on a 110V (USA) circuit would likely overload the 110V circuit and could possibly cause a house fire, not just an explodong PSU.
A cheap PSU will explode when run at max load. --scryptr
Thats what I wrote often before. NEVER buy cheap. You only have one life. Saving a few bucks with cheapest hardware is just stupid. I bought cheap psus and ran them near capacity and they did fry, burned SATA connections.

If you are mining ARRR via Luxor, please try the EU server if you are using the US server and report back if you have any problems.

Just switched to the EU server, seems to be working fine EU Working fine for me also

If you are not worried about the aesthetic look of your mining rig, then you can even use fans for the PC case. You can install them instead of standard GPU fans using clamps. The main thing is to choose more powerful fans.
This is what I do, zip tie a case fan on the gpu $5 fix.

Yep on mtp zcoin im getting 3.5 - 3.6 mhash @ 150 watt 65 tdp. This spanks the vega vii which according to vosk does 3.3 @ 265 watt @ $700
Plus you can get a 2080 rtx amp on b@h for $650 now on sale today. Vosk you need to do a review of the 2080 rtx and show people the light. Need to change this title also to 2080 rtx best most efficient gpu ever!
If there is something I've learned past these 15 years is, never use more than 180 watts in a gpu. If the radeon vii cant hash efficiently x the competition around 180 watts then is a fail for me. R vii is designed to run hot it has lots of temp sensors to determine the junction temp and its a bit scary at first but my three vii's sit happy at 109C i dont like it and working to lower the heat by undervolting but Radeon vii delivers over 200% performance over RX 580 i cant compare to nvid as never used them but its not to be sniffed at so dive in I did...... using claymore 14.6 in Eth mode only under Lubuntu 18.04.2 with Kernel v15.0 amdgpu-pro-19.10-785425-ubuntu-18.04 RX580 x 4 = 130Mhs / 940W <---- optimised undervolting and m straps R vii x3 = 260Mhs / 1000W <---- this is not yet optimised expecting efficiency improvements 10-20% basically kicks ass but hot out of the box! TBF With Eth above $250 it makes GPU mining possible again but need to see Eth reach and exceed $500 to get these paid back in any sort of realistic time.... Heres to a great speculative hobby and to late reminder bills from the electric company... If I can run mine that hot i'm impressed, I was getting frustrated trying to keep them under 80 degrees.
