Try repairwallet command on a console.
I appreciate the attempt to help but there is nothing to fix here, running that command will have no effect on nara's situation. Read my responses to nara if you are interested in learning about orphan blocks.

It looks like I did! I am still seeing the same ammount of hps but when I just did my list_my_accounts command I now see I have 41 STEEM and 1 VESTS . How did I get a VEST without explicitly converting to it? I clearly have a lot to understand still
All accounts must have some VESTS without which they could not transact. So the first time you submit a POW it automatically converts the 1.000 STEEM to VESTS, all subsequent rewards are paid as STEEM. ah cool. Thanks for the explanation.

Hi it's me again . The little noob that could. So at this point I am seeing lots of what looks like hashing going on. It has said pretty steady hashing around 1500 hps and around 2500 minutes estimated time to produce a block. So does it sound like it is working? 2500 minutes sounds like a long time but do you think if I keep it running I will see a block solved and be put in the que in the next couple days? I guess I am just looking for some assurance that it is working and that I just need to wait now. It will take a long time to find much with that amount of hash, unless the devs 100(s) machines go down again. Then you may find some. I stopped mining when I realized how much he was using. thanks yeah. I figured it would take along time but I am just going to let it go for now. Would be fun to see a little STEEM show up did you find a block yet ? if it goes to 0 hps and you have only 1 account configured. it means you've found POW block and entering a queue to generate reward blocks so shouldn't close wallet when this happens i have VPS mining since launch (2kh/s) already generated 170 coins do you see your account with cli wallet? developers of the coin: how to use command withdraw_from_vesting ? It looks like I did! I am still seeing the same ammount of hps but when I just did my list_my_accounts command I now see I have 41 STEEM and 1 VESTS . but it already 2 hour an still not recived to my ballance.. still 'unconfirmed'
Correct. You can see in your screen shot it is "Generated but not accepted". This is also known as an orphan. You can see in my last post what that is and how it is a normal part of the proof of stake process. There are orphans on proof of work as well but that doesn't matter for MOIN because this is purely proof of stake. So what happens to those coins? They will stake again and most likely next time the block will be accepted and you will receive the reward. I encourage you to look at the link I posted for you if you want to understand it better than I can explain. where is the link? Here is a copy of it https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_StakeLike I mentioned the part about orphans is in this section Mining Process 1) Block meeting work difficulty target is mined. Difficulty target periodically adjusted so that 1 PoW block arrives every 10 minutes.
2) Work submission is hashed 10 times consecutively. Each consecutive hash maps to an individual unspent output in the blockchain. This is essentially a lottery drawing two sets of five winners. The first five hashes map to mandatory signatures, the final five hashses map to voluntary signatures.
3) If the mandatory signatures map to active public keys [see glossary], the block can potentially be valid. Otherwise, the block is invalid and must be discarded.
4) If PoW miner finds a potentially valid block, he transmits the following hash to the network: {work submission;hash(his block, the previous valid block)}
5) If the work submission meets the difficulty target and maps to active signatories, then the block is relayed through the network. Otherwise, the message is dropped as spam.
5) The first five selected signatories sequentially sign this hash and transmit it onwards as {work submission; hash; sig 1; sig 2; sig 3; sig 4; sig 5}
6) After the mandatory signature sequence is complete, the final signatory publishes the PoW block and also his own PoS block.
7) The final five hashes map to voluntary signatures. These voluntary signatures can be inserted into any block within the next 6 blocks as special txns. These txns do not require fees.
9) Go to step 1
Note: This process is simultaneous so that multiple block hashes can circulate in the network attempting to collect five signatures and generate PoW/PoS block pairs. Block pairs that lose this race are orphaned. if you search for orphaned blocks on google you can find a bunch more info too.

This is part of how proof of stake functions. You can learn in detail @ https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_StakeBut the part you are looking for I will paste here and highlight: Mining Process 1) Block meeting work difficulty target is mined.

5) If the work submission meets the difficulty target and maps to active signatories, then the block is relayed through the network. Otherwise, the message is dropped as spam.
5) The first five selected signatories sequentially sign this hash and transmit it onwards as {work submission; hash; sig 1; sig 2; sig 3; sig 4; sig 5}
In simple terms. Someone else ended up solving the block first.

I now see hps so maybe it needed to sync first or something? Anyway now it reads about 1500-1700 hps. Thanks for everyones help getting it working. Much appreciated

delete the blockchain directory or use --resync-[Suspicious link removed]mand line arg.
Thanks --resync did get it running again. I am still seeing 0 hps however... I saw your post with a few options of what this could mean. I am not sure how to tell which situation I am in however. If you see a hash rate of 0 then it means one of several things:
1. --miner no miners specified properly 2. --witness no witness specified 3. --mining-threads is not set 4. you already produced one POW and are in the queue
1 & 2 - I think I have this set. They both match each other. 3 - I have this set to 2 4 - I don't think this is the case but I'm not sure how to check

ok i got it running now and can see my balance correctly and whatnot. I am seeing alot of hash rate: 0 hps though. That is concerning me a little.
Are you using config.ini for your settings? If not, you should be. If you are, you probably have a misplaced space or quote... Thanks. i wasn't using it but now I think something else is wrong because after I stopped the ./steemd I cannot restart it. Now when I try to start it it tells me that 'block_num != 0' failed. Aborted (core dumped). dang. I will get this thing working eventually

Thanks Eclipse Crypto for the instructions on how to obtain the private key. I am still getting an error though. "unable to parse private key"
im using this format
./steemd --miner='["accountname","${WIFPRIVATEKEY}"]' --witness='"accountname"' --seed-node="52.38.66.234:2001" --mining-threads=2

The part I am still not figuring out is how to know what goes in the WIFPRIVATEKEY field.
I just need a little more help please.

I install Boost 1.6 it seems to successfully install but then when I try the steem cmake command it fails and tells me i have an older boost version. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Like I need to point at the boost version somehow? I know this is probably more a linux question than a real STEEM question but I wasn't successful trying to google it.

uhmmmm why would you mine one million of a coin that you post such disdain towards? Can I have the million since I have far less and would love them? puhleeeeessse? how much will you sell them for?
|

My preference would also be PoS v3 with static rewards. I am not too particular about what the percentage is. lower seems better from an inflation perspective.

Anyone able to create some step by step instructions with which an uneducated plebeian such as myself may participate in mining some STEEM
