283  Economy / Goods / [WTS] HB Pencil on: July 12, 2013, 02:50:06 PM
Hey everyone, I have a HB Pencil which I would like to sell. The pencil is relatively un-used, I guess you will get a good couple of months use before it starts to run out. You can mainly use it for writing and drawing but on occasions it can come in handy as a ruler (providing you have a second pencil). Feel free to make your offers, if I don't get any decent offers I will sell on eBay instead.

284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holders Unite! on: July 10, 2013, 11:24:50 PM
I am holding onto my coins as I feel Bitcoin is the best alternative to the FIAT system. I feel there is vast amounts of potential and we are just at the beginning, unfortunately we do live in a world full of scammers, days traders, idiots, greedy/ignorant people and so on who care more about making quick money and throwing the idea away once they are done with it.The fact that we consider ~£50 as doing bad in 2013 I feel shows significant growth. The media storms seems to have died down and lots of us still have our coins. Smiley

I sent your package by the way. Wink
286  Economy / Goods / Re: [[YOUR OWN COIN]] - Ever wanted to create your own coin? [[YOUR CHANCE]] on: July 10, 2013, 11:05:56 PM
Is it possible to make a coin that does not require intensive GPU, CPU, ASIC hashing power? Instead it would be limited by a method that is less power hungry and more afforable. I am interested if advanced changes can be made, I dont want another clonecoin 10.0 though.  Tongue

I visited just to recommend this tablet as well, my only criticisms are that I now go to sleep much later and spend way more time in bed in the mornings.
289  Economy / Service Discussion / all4btc.com < Buy from Amazon with Bitcoin < Is this legit? on: July 09, 2013, 11:57:12 PM
hallo,

buy all amazon.com, amazon.co.uk and amazon.de products with bitcoin!

all4btc.com

use our google chrome app than it´s much easier and faster, but it works also without the app.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/buy-with-bitcoin/cojpifopaaneikgfobjnekpfmpkiekff

we are also offering an elektronik shop for bitcoins:

www.e4btc.com

and a pay your bills service at

bills4btc.com

we will offer more webshops in the future.

regards

I noticed this post in another thread and I just wanted to get some opinions in regards to the authenticity of the site. Has anyone used all4btc.com? The poster only has 22 posts so I thought it was worth checking, perhaps there are already alternative services out there that have the same function. I want to buy a A3 printer and most Bitcoin sites I have browsed don't seem to have what I am looking for so I am turning to Amazon to save the day. They claim to order from Amazon after paying with Bitcoin but naturally they could take the payment and never fulfill the order.
290  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Condoms @ 0.2BTC on: July 09, 2013, 11:26:11 AM
Collectors item? It's just a wrapped condom with a logo! Those idiots that bought them will realize their stupidity when they arrive. If not then I'll gladly put a logo on anything, make only about 5 of them and sell whatever item for 10BTC because they're limited edition collectibles!

Bitcoin dildos might sell pretty well.

cryptosextoys.com bro!  hahaha!

and for the condoms?   NO!....  just...       NO!!!

They have been selling well and I am still getting pm's about them but thanks anyway. Smiley

These are now available on Ebay UK at the lowest price yet, pm if you want a link.
291  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Turret Action/Strategy Game - Protect a Bitcoin city :D [need developers] on: July 08, 2013, 09:57:26 PM
You mention "in game bitcoins". It would be great if everything was real bitcoins. Your site would make money by selling the initial in-game hardware, people could trade resources in the game but you could facilitate those trades in a more efficient fashion for a small fee per trade. Sort of like charging for escrow.

Providing payments are sustainable through profits then that kind of feature is definitely a possiblity. I will need more advanced programmers before I can think about implementing more integrated systems, once I start putting up YouTube videos interests tends to start picking up.

Here is a new turret design, the textures will be a different but you get the idea.
292  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If Bitcoin dies... what could I do with 50 GPUs? on: July 07, 2013, 10:13:53 PM
GPU are also useful for 3D visualization in real-time, for example Lumion or the Unreal Development Kit. My advice would be to contact some high end architecture firms and tell them you have a load of GPU they could use/rent/buy. They could use them to present real-time presentations to clients. It is not just architecture, medicine, engineering all have potential uses for large amounts of raw computing power. With the amount of GPU you have you could rent to lots of different firms at once. If you were to set up a professional looking website I expect you could attract some top end clients, just make sure you clearly demonstrate the advantages of real time rendering and I bet this would be a good niche. The more I think about this the more I think I should have kept this idea secret lol.

293  Economy / Services / Re: Hire a troll... Id troll anybody on: July 07, 2013, 10:01:58 PM
These days the media portrays anyone that insults and is just a horrible person online as a "troll". Seriously is annoying when that happens, trolling is usually to annoy someone or maybe upset them, some kind of emotional response, without being detected. Posting a comment for a shitty music video like "Your music is shit" is not trolling, neither is posting "Trololololo".

I agree about saying you think music is shit.
But "Trolololol" is totally trollish.  ha ha
Maybe at the end when you're revealing it was a troll, maybe, but trolling is about people thinking you're a serious person just like they are.
Most people agree that trolling requires the element of "many unwanted comments" in a thread.

That is called spam.  Wink

295  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Turret Action/Strategy Game - Protect a Bitcoin city :D [need developers] on: July 07, 2013, 04:02:30 PM
Adding some buildings to the top level to get a feel for how the scale works.

296  Bitcoin / Project Development / Turret Action/Strategy Game - Protect a Bitcoin city :D [need developers] on: July 07, 2013, 01:54:39 PM
I am a designer who has also worked casually in 3D design, my main interest is architecture so my experience translates will into designing maps and game environments. I have zero formal experience as a game developer, however, I have worked in UDK on various projects http://bit.ly/13CPXVA. At the moment I find myself a little out of depth when it comes to programming AI, animation in game effects and so on. I would like to share my idea for a game and I am hoping to find some more technical orientated game developers to work with me on this game. I can turn around 3d models very quickly, as a result all I am after is one or two people who can work on the core mechanics of the game and translate my 3d models into moving, controllable objects.

Game idea
The idea is to a create an action/strategy turret based game. Each map will be based in a futuristic style enviroment and the turrets the player operates will be integrated into the city to protect key areas and the overall populace. The turrets ideally would have specific abilities depending on the city map. As for the enemy, well I like the idea of flying drone type bots that will come from all directions trying to destroy the city.

Interms of strategy I have loads of ideas. One is that the city is constantly gathering inteligence, perhaps you can send out scouts to locate incoming enemy. This will enable you to locate enemies on a map before they are within range, the turrets themselves are on different levels within in the city also with limited fields of view. This means you can't just turn 360 and you will need to use alternative methods to find enemies that may be out of your line of sight.

I am not to sure about story at the moment, I think for a first attempt simple gameplay will be the focus although I could be lazy and just use illustrations to create a basic stroyline. It depends how much interest there is in the game as it develops.

As you might have noticed, my recent plans are inspired by Killzone Shadowfall although naturally I dont expect this game to reach those standards lol.  Cheesy

Platform
At the moment I feel PC will be the best option, Android would be an alternative. I would like the maps to look impressive which is why PC seems like the best option.

Bitcoin
I was about to post this thread why I thought that I should incorporate Bitcoin somehow. So here are some ideas: Smiley
  • Game Currency: By protecting the city you earn (game)Bitcoins
  • Bitcoin could be used to purchase upgrades
  • Maybe add a competition mode where the winner gets wins the bet total
  • Got a better idea?

Old turret designs
(probably a bit to square at the moment)

City Map Idea
Large scale structures - The red cyclinders indicate potential turret placements
Obviously I have not added the buildings and other details, this just provides an idea of the city platforms. Humans would appear as ants to give you an idea of scale.
