224  Economy / Currency exchange / 1 Bitcoin Available for UK BT [£70] on: August 07, 2013, 09:16:13 PM
As the title says, I would like to sell 1 Bitcoin  by UK bank transfer, preferably within the next hour or so as it is getting late. Let me know if you are interested.

The current price as of this moment is £69.30 so I have rounded up to £70 which I feel is a great price for those of us in the UK.

226  Other / Off-topic / Experineced Coders & Developers to work with? on: July 28, 2013, 04:30:56 PM
I am from a design background, so I have experience with User interface, promotional graphics, web design, SEO, branding and so on. I also have experience with HTML and CSS however this is where my coding knowledge stops. As a result I would like to find one or two skilled professional coders, ideally with experience working on desktop applications. I do have a project I would like to start work on, the concept behind it is very simple although the coding probably does require some advanced programming skills. As a team/group I have plenty of other ideas and I feel with a well rounded skillset there is plenty of potential, we could even work on some Bitcoin projects too.

So are there any ideas on where one might find these elusive programming people, I expect there are one or two on the forums so feel free to contact me. The software will likely be a standalone desktop app, it would also need to connect with a handful of major videos sites such as YouTube, Vimeo etc... I am guessing through the use of existing API's or something? I will go more into detail about the concept for those that are interested and contact me, also let me know what kind of experience you have. I have been discussing on Google+ already so I am currently in talks with people, my priority is sourcing the technical skills and experience.

Sample of current project concept:

This is the kind of interface I would like to create, I am guessing one could simply use the existing PSD/AI file.

228  Economy / Economics / BREAKING: JP Morgan Gold Warehouse Fire on: July 21, 2013, 11:53:06 PM
http://investmentwatchblog.com/breaking-massive-fire-reported-in-the-basement-at-the-jp-morgan-gold-warehouse-on-wall-street-why-so-many-firetrucks/

Sorry if this has been posted, I did a quick search and I did not notice it. It seems there is a fire in where they hold the gold, very convenient.

Quote
20 Firetrucks, 4+ ambulance and police showed up

There is zero media coverage about this beside Stopmotions stream of the event and a few locals tweeting about it

This is supposedly where JP Morgan keeps their gold. The very same gold that has been dwindling down at astonishing rates lately. JP Morgan warehouse 100 feet below CMP 1 on Wall Street.

Tons of Fire Trucks and even Ambulances on the scene.

FDNY Confirms Fire in JPMorgan/Chase Vault

New York – There has been a fire in the basement of the JP Morgan headquarters in New York. Independent Journalist StopMotionsolo was on scene to film the action from outside.

*BREAKING* MASSIVE FIRE REPORTED IN JP MORGAN BASEMENT VAULT! GOLD FORCE MAJEURE?

*UPDATE: FDNY tweet confirms fire is in a commercial vault!
A journalist on scene on Wall Street this evening has just sent us footage of a massive fleet of Firetrucks and ambulances in front of JP Morgan’s headquarters at 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza, with fire-fighters stating they are responding to a COMMERCIAL VAULT FIRE IN THE BASEMENT!
With JPM’s gold inventory plunging 66% Friday to an all-time low of 46,000 ounces, and with reportedly over 502,000 ounces still standing against JPM for the JUNE gold contract, is the long anticipated force-majeure event in progress?

Did A Raging Fire Burn Down JPMorgan’s Gold Vault?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-07-21/did-raging-fire-burn-down-jpmorgans-gold-vault

7-19-2013 JPM Eligible Gold Plummets By 66% In One Day To Just Over 1 Tonne, Total Gold At Fresh All Time Low.

For over a month, JPMorgan managed to mysteriously avoid matching up the gold held in its (world’s largest) vault with the Comex delivery notice update. However, as of today, that particular can will be kicked no more. Starting yesterday, JPM reported that just under 12,000 ounces of Eligible gold (the same Registered gold that two days earlier saw its warrants detached and convert to eligible) were withdrawn from its warehouse 100 feet below CMP 1. But it was today’s move that was the kicker, as a whopping 90,311 ounces of eligible gold were withdrawn, accounting for a massive 66% of the firm’s entire inventory of non-Registered gold, and leaving a token 46K ounces, or a little over 1 tonne in JPM’s possession.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-07-19/jpm-eligible-gold-plummets-66-one-day-total-gold-fresh-all-time-low

JP Morgan has record modern-era lows in gold inventory against massive paper claims. Similarly, the COMEX is running close to empty as well against massive outstanding paper claims.

231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's all about "why" do I need Bitcoins on: July 21, 2013, 08:26:25 PM
First, a little story:

When the PC first came out, it was advertised as something a person could use to balance their checkbook and to store recipes on. I thought, "why would anyone buy a $2000 computer to balance their checkbook and store recipes?" I was convinced that the PC would fail as a consumer product. Obviously, I was wrong.

Many years later, I thought "you can use the internet to do online stock trading, and send email, and look up stuff, but the internet is not going to be useful to the average person." Again, I was horribly wrong.

The lesson here is that the fact that you can't see the value in something doesn't mean that there is no value. Please learn from my mistakes.

I think the lesson here is to always invest of tech that you dont don't think has potential. Cheesy

By your "definition" Somalia is probably the most free country in the world; guns are prolific and government is virtually non existed.

As for Somalia.. you're mixing up godless individuals with freedom.  Yes, they are free.  And they are abusing it.  See my earlier statements about the only solution is Godly individuals.  Every possible combination works with God.  None work without.

In the UK teachers and most police don't have guns, the problem is American gun culture. To be fair though, your police are so insane that I don't blame you for wanting guns to feel safe, it is all the US knows. We are much safer here without guns.

You only feel safe, because you have traded your liberty for an empty promise of security.  That warm fuzzy feeling is divorced from cold hard reality.

Americans, having fought and won a war of independence, are sovereign individuals and hence may own weapons.  Our English cousins, who are property of the Crown and at the disposal of the Throne, no longer enjoy that right.

The mark of a slave is being forbidden to own weapons, which makes them comparable to eunuchs (a eunuch being as impotent in potentially life-creating situations as the defenseless are in situations threatening death).

When the Germans and Austrians periodically get sick of your Queen and her City sucking their blood, who comes and protects your white cliffs and green fields from their wrath?

Here is your answer:

Quote
A humanitarian is always a hypocrite, and Kipling’s understanding of this is perhaps the central secret of his power to create telling phrases. It would be difficult to hit off the one-eyed pacifism of the English in fewer words than in the phrase, ‘making mock of uniforms that guard you while you sleep’.

-George Orwell, 1942

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.  Are you going to keep shirking that responsibility and looking down your nose at us who do not?

Please consider leaving the womb of royal serfdom and joining the adult human race in independently providing for your own (and your loved ones') physical security.

I do have protection though. Do you think guns will protect you from your government or an invading country? What is your rifle going to do against a warship, a jet fighter? Some Americans, no offence tend to have a distorted view of the rest of the world. The only reason the UK still has enemies in my opinion is because we keep following your war path, the Queen has nothing to do with me as far as I am concerned. I would argue we have far more rights then the US, if you think we are owned by the Queen then your are owned by the IRS, Microsoft, Wells Fargo and all the other corps funding your politicians. Most UK citizens I feel would agree that guns and the gun culture that goes with it are not good for humanity. Like I said your system is so trigger happy that I dont blame you that you need a gun to feel safe. Just remember the more you support gun culture, the more advanced your government will be relative to your own stock. I think the US has made so many enemies that the UK has little to worry about.

Anyway this is not a pissing contest, here is a reality check.

Banned for what?
Why you don't admit that I've paid you that loan back?

That KID is crazy. I have sent him the contact of an escrower and he refuse the deal. This is scamming ?

Any scammer can propose a legitimate deal, not that your proposal is legitimate, In fact from the looks of it your escrow buddy is probably another one of your scam accounts. Believe me I have better things to be doing then wasting my time with you but I don't like scammers, they are cowards.

interesting conversation today

I guess he is back to scamming lol, it is a shame he hasn't been banned by now but I guess more newbies deserve to learn their lessons. I have resorted to creating my own network just so I can ban idiots like this and network with decent people.

I just gave him negative trust since the trust feature wasn't live when I dealt with him, I recommend anyone else that he has scammed does the same.
239  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Innovators Sign Up Lottery [1 BTC] on: July 20, 2013, 08:28:29 PM
I would like to encourage new users to join Bitcoin Innovators which is a new social network for the Bitcoin community. The network is relatively new and as a result we would like to see some new content, members and interaction. Sign up is free, you can also register with your preferred social network. In order to be applicable you will also need to have earned at least 200 coins in our system. It is easy to register so will reduce the likelihood of spammers, plus it will encourage users to try out the features too. Earning the coins is easy and can be achieved through comments and posts, even from just logging in every now and then will earn points.

The lottery will close August 1st which gives you plenty of time to get 200 coins so feel free to join us and hopefully hang around after. Also don't forget to add an avatar and your Bitcoin / Litecoin address to your profile so others can donate to you.

Side note: Those of you with websites/services/business should also submit to our Bitcoin directory which is free for a few months. We launched on the 16th of July so only a few days ago. Smiley
