Is there any place to pay people to do some art for you, or have a contest for artists to submit their art?
I know you can do a contest on freelancer and ask for digital visuals. But I was wondering if there was a place specifically for artists of all mediums, not just digital.
I figure I'd see about commissioning some artistic representation for what we went through in Thailand...something I could hang on the wall. Since people have time on their hands.
But I don't have any favorite artists or even know what I would want.

No he is not. Sending kids back to school is the last thing we should do. Dropped the vid right there. Send workers back so we can afford to treat and hopefully eventually cure this plague. School kids are the biggest infection vector. Parent your children for a while, for once. In fact it is kids who should be sent to Corona "Summer" Camps to get properly infected and get them back with their parents when they test inmune. Win-Win. First he felt compelled to tell us he wasn't paid by the government which is a lie (or naive if I'm to be generous). Rockefeller University gets much of its funding from the US govt via NCCIH and NIGMS. He goes on to ignore the question of a million deaths until pressed when he gives the number 500 per day. This is supposed to be numbers of deaths without the current measures in place. USA is well above that with current measures. Clearly he doesnt know. Then there's the China question - are they telling the truth about their numbers? He can't possibly know but he answers anyway! I had to stop at that point. I dont have unlimited data on my phone and there are many people i can listen to for free if i simply want misinformation. Maybe you could tell us what he says that might be informative? |

Nope. No burgers in Krishnaland. They do give out weird vegan crap though. Back in the early 1970s I answered an ad in the Bargain Hunter Press (later called Buy and Sell) for a P.A. amp at an incredible price. It was only a little over a block from our house on Gerrard near Jarvis but I didn't realize until I got there that it was the Krishna "Temple". I double checked the ad to make sure the address was right and knocked on the door. The air was filled with incense, chants and the jingling of little bells. Some dude in saffron robes invited me in and immediately started to try to indoctrinate me. I explained I was there for the P.A. amp they'd advertised. I realized some poor sucker had relinquished his worldly goods to the "church", including a Bogen 100W PA amplifier. Saffron Robe Dude was now worked up to a fever pitch trying to get my cash and sign me up. Maybe he thought he could get me to relinquish it after I'd paid for it. Get twice the mileage out of the classified ad and maybe sell it to someone else. I asked for a receipt and when he came back with a receipt book he was also carrying some kind of weird seed-cake wafers which he offered to me as "food". I tasted it to be polite, thanked him, grabbed the P.A. and got the fuck out of there. The P.A. worked great until it was stolen from a bar we played in. Ain't religion grand? That's an awesome story. You lived right in the heart of TO - Eaton's Center, Maple Leaf Gardens, The St. Lawrence Market, Nathan Phillips, Massey Hall, Sam the Record Man... So many old memories of TO are flooding back. I'm going to have to take the family there for a few days this summer to look around. I haven't explored the downtown in ages and I'm sure I wont recognize it.  |

The reason more men than women are dying from Covid-19 might simply be due to the fact that me are the weaker sex with respect to our immune systems. Look I'm no pharmacist, I'm just throwing this out there but we might want to look into estrogen therapy for our survival. Estrogen never killed anybody (directly at least) so why not try it?
