It depends on your NXT holdings. The more you have the more you earn. It's making rich richer. No joke.

That's the exactly the same for any investment that pays interest. The more you have invested, the more you receive.

Yes, but that's exactly what makes current system flawed. Isn't it? Richer get richer, poorer get poorer.
Communism failed long time ago..

What's NXT?  Wink

New version of the mac client:

https://copy.com/0wiHjhw33QGj

Changes:

- It no longer contains a partial blockchain in the binary.
- "Redownload blockchain" command (under Tools) allows you to restart the blockchain from scratch, good if you ever get stuck on a fork again.
- Uses 0.4.4 by default.

It may well take a little while longer on first start of the app since it needs to download the entire blockchain, but after that you should be good to go :-)

Many thanks!

I sell 1bn NxT PM me!

Humor aside, what is the max ask you would accept?
BTW you do understand that currently NONE stakeholder has 100M NXT...
2824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DGEX.com multicurrency exchange BTC <-> NXT no trading fees on: December 24, 2013, 04:11:24 PM
Well I'm not the author of NXT nor American.

I'm the founder of DGEX and nextcoin.org, and this thread concerns DGEX the exchange, not the viabilitiy of NXT itself.

Regardless, I don't see suggested scam anywhere. I only see pouring out negativity arising from hesitation / envy / lack of courage or resources.

This does not answer my question.

If you're not the founder of NXT, then you may be holding a large stake in it (maybe you were given a lot of NXT just for the job and to keep quiet), and by creating these websites you're 'pumping' it'.

Now cause the coin is gaining on popularity (cause of false inflated prices as shown in the websites made by NXT holders), it may be listed in more popular exchanges and have a good price..

More suspicious is the fact that you made a separate exchange instead of requesting the existing ones to add the coins possibly cause they refused to artificially inflate the prices (or duping investors).

These sound like harsh questions, but these are real serious questions which need to be answered in order to prove the coin is not a scam. After I'm satisfied, I may invest.
Since when it is unreasonable for someone to launch an exchange? Cut the crap please!

How can an exchange prove btw that it is not doing dirty tricks?
I mean how r u sure that cryptsy, btc-e (let me laugh), bter, the second biggest chinese exchange which name I forget and inflated LTC BTC prices, and not let me even start about mtgox..

But I will save you some time mate because I like you, NxT is an elaborate scam move elsewhere (maybe Dogecoin or Quark Wink ) and don't waste your time and money here...

Basically what you're saying here is that -- "I trust Jane to make me an ASIC miner instead of AMD/Intel/Nvidia, that's why put my money on her." But still I'll answer.

Because they're large exchanges; the probability of them doing such a scam is less. People trust them. Their business is large, they require large payments in bribery which's something hard to do.

Starting your own exchange to do the dirty tricks on it is easier.
So BTC-e and MtGox and BTC24 were big - why do they still scam people (the first two)?

I would say it like this: we have no regulations, ALL of them will do dirty tricks, size is irrelevant...

That said I think it is ok to trade small amounts @dgex and NXT is not to blame, as Bitcoin is not to blame for MtGox or LTC for BTC-e...

Is this a typo?

Just trying to get some idea of sizing here and what is 'significant' in the world of NXT.  May be impossible to say right now with such crazy fluctuations; but what is a "big fish" in NXT?

I'm used to mining around 2 LTC/day.  If I have 10,000 NXT is that going to forge something worthwhile?  I'm hesitant to dump 1-2 more BTC in until everything stabilizes but I don't want to be a small player.
I would think of it like this:

1) I want to buy LTC and/or
2) I want to buy GPUs

How much money would you invest? With NXT you will have both..

Btw who is a likely attacker? Just some nerds with too much time?

I know one guy who used to kill all competitors of Bitcoin coz of voices in his head...
Someone who patches mining pools for small transactions?  Wink Cheesy

NXT will 'mine' (forge) on Google glass.

Dinosaurs will extinct...

BUT, if i just start the server with all files deleted, then i need to wait 3 minutes, and i am upto date  Smiley

Which files exactly to delete (just the ones in that .zip)?

I stop the shell first (ctrl+C), refresh the window the files are stored (so I make sure I see the *.bak and delete them too) and then delete all files.

Downlad nxt.zip again and unzip it, paste all in there except blockchain.nrs and then download nxtfiles.zip and copy/paste them in the nxt folder.

Then run the client.

Tricky part is to make sure u deleted bak files too..

I'm running 10 nodes now. Based on donations received today, I'm going to add 15 more in 2 new data centers. This will take a day or so since "real life" is interrupting me a bit today.
Very nice job! Did you claim any bounty on this?

Not yet, who/where do I claim?

Thanks!

Contact  laowai80 and/or fexern

Cheesy do u mean ferment or nexern?

Actually nexern and I would probably make a good team if we combined forces! heh.
Can we make a kind of site helping users to do this?
I will try to raise funds from big stakeholders and support this - it is better if you work together I think with laowai80 too.
We need to fight this zombie node apocalypse with full force combined!  Cool

nxtbase is open source by design for others to contribute code, bug reports, documentation etc. So really  the site that you're talking already exists. I'd be happy to accept pull requests and entertain more features that meet other people's needs.

So, there are 3 easy ways to get a node going.

1. Rent an ubuntu VPS and use nxtbase. Directions here.
2. Hire laowai80 to run a node for you.
3. Donate to nxtbase and I add a new new nodeX.nxtbase.com for every 3000 nxt that I receive to cover 3 months. If you want you're own hallmark and vanity name, I can do that too for a little extra (4500 for 3 months). nxt: 11243542237777034551

I'm not a founder, however:

- I'm willing to spend a $100 a month to help protect it
- My time is limited, I'd pay if someone was willing to configure
- I bet there are other members in the community that are in a similar boat

How many times can a NXT coin be divided into?
same like Bitcoin, but its not yet active...
So could you send very very small amounts of NXT and still be viable because you don't have to pay any fees? With BTC, you cant do this because in microtransactions the fee is bigger than the small amount you are sending.

you can send any fee you want, now 1 NXT , in future 0.001 nxt
Only 2 decimals will be added to support the colored coins feature..

what version is best now, 0.4.3e?

0.4.0 or 0.4.3e. 0.4.2 has CORS enabled and subject to attack from millions of innocent Internet surfers.
- I think we must test thoroughly every new version on test net (including the simulation of zombie attack) before publishing it.  I am intentionally bought separate VPS for this. I had installed v.0.4.1e, but without long testing it becomes 0.4.2 ...

May be we all need to install 0.4.0 ?  Could you re-publish it ?
I like the way you think mate!

CfB is my VPS working?
I can send you funds to add 5 more if you can or anyone else who offers!

Hi!
If you still need I can help you to add VPS.

I would also invest in a VPS if someone would help me where to do it and how to configure it to support Nxt
