Just for your information:

If i use the files from the dropbox, i can NOT catch up to the latest block!

BUT, if i just start the server with all files deleted, then i need to wait 3 minutes, and i am upto date  Smiley

I'm trying to set up a VPS node.  I followed the instructions here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4103726#msg4103726

The last message I've seen is:

WARN:oejh.HttpParser:qtp1902432947-18: badMessage: java.lang.IllegalStateException: too much data after closed for HttpChannelOverHttp@ee15b1f{r=1,a=IDLE,uri=-}

Is that sufficient to aid the network?  I haven't created an Nxt account number.  Can I do that without opening the GUI client?  If not, is there any way to do that from a cloud VPS?  I can't install the client on my own system until it is open-sourced.

Quote
not sure, either it's too little ram or something software related, need to ask CfB. how much ram did you get? make it 1 gb ram if possible.

Yes, it's 1GB RAM:

# free -h
total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:          1.0G       896M       106M         0B        41M       638M
-/+ buffers/cache:       216M       786M
Swap:           0B         0B         0B

If someone can confirm that the VPS I set up above (0.4.2) is aiding the network (I have no Nxt account number) then I will set up more of them.  I can see there is some network traffic.

This is 100% *centralized* and 100% *wrong*.

Valid point. After we have more nodes I'll stop publishing nxtfiles. Right now it's not critical coz we r in alpha stage yet.

Which files exactly to delete (just the ones in that .zip)?

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

Which files exactly to delete (just the ones in that .zip)?

I stop the shell first (ctrl+C), refresh the window the files are stored (so I make sure I see the *.bak and delete them too) and then delete all files.

Downlad nxt.zip again and unzip it, paste all in there except blockchain.nrs and then download nxtfiles.zip and copy/paste them in the nxt folder.

Then run the client.

Tricky part is to make sure u deleted bak files too..

Are you running 0.4.2?  Only works with the newest client.
