It is very demotivating for me to come into work when in one day I made more money than almost 2 years salary.
You should re-read what you just typed, because there's probably hundreds of people reading your post who have had the exact same feeling with some altcoin before, then they tried to ride the profits higher and they vaporized taking them back to square one. The fact is, the second any type of life changing profits occur, the price always craters right after. What % bitcoin can rise in a short duration before said action occurs is up for debate though. Having any type of life changing profit occur and then not taking any profit off the table is the definition of insanity. Profit in what? A currency that will likely go away in the next 10 years due to a debt bubble and more wars? I stay at work mainly because it allows me to continue my high risk investment without worry of starving if it goes to zero. If I were to quit I would buy real estate or something that will sustain me for decades. Real estate where? Cheap apartments and rent them out? I need ideas on how to sustain myself once I sell... I'm over the job route When I think Real Estate I think of a house that will sustain me for the rest of my life. That means off grid, ability to grow at least meager food, or some means of survival. For me that could be a sailboat with solar panels and a fishing pole or a ranch in Texas. Or a seastead

Update:
I just used this site to pay my rent. It went very well. Though the landlord never confirmed that he received the payment, I just said to tell me if it doesn't go through.

Who sold at the bottom?
I didn't sell yet, my friend sold his 100BTC today though - he bought them when they were worth 1USD - he's pretty happy with his investment These kinds of stories never make any sense to me. I can understand cashing out little by little, but what you gonna do with your money if you cash out all of them? O.k... ? Around $280 k and mostly profit.. but, still where you gonna put it? just blow it all? I can understand cashing out 20% and going on a vacation or something like that. Uncle Sam appreciates your investment in weapons for ISIS with your tax dollars.

I remember when the price shot up to 60 dollars when I had bought at 20, all my friends at work were saying I should sell. Calling me crazy for not selling as it went over 100.
I will diversify into Seasteading later this year as I see that as the next world changing technology that I believe in.

I understand that the rise in price is due to many fiat lovers trying to get more fiat but that's just not me. Bitcoin is the superior currency. It will do more to help the world than anything else being worked on right now.

Many here would likely justify murder if it was spun as good for the community (oh wait, they already do that...war, death penalty, etc).
Can we all agree that the initiation of force or fraud is bad? No matter how many rainbows it results in.

Congratulation everybody, we are rich.
It is very demotivating for me to come into work when in one day I made more money than almost 2 years salary. Fortunately it's government work so I don't have to do much. And my boss is nice and I have respect for the people in my company (CEO is an old friend).

Don't blame taxation, taxation was formed for a good purpose it is just being abused by the officials it is fine to pay taxes, we are also responsible for taking care of our own country we should do our responsibility as part of this community i think some of the official is a thief they use taxation for their own good so taxation is not a theft it's our responsibility.
Don't blame theft. Theft was started for a good purpose. It is just being abused.

I used to love bitcoin and now i hate it. Its slow, transaction fees are over the roof and it seems there cant be any consensus of future development... Centralised Chinese based mining...Still hold it, but i am disappointed with BTC... very disappointed...
Anyone who complains about how slow Bitcoin is just reveals that they do not spend bitcoins. Slow how? Takes a while to confirm when sending to the exchange to get your precious gov money? Paid for 4 things with bitcoins in the last day (including my Korean rent) and the transaction speed was seconds. About the amount of time to see the "sent" message on my phone to then check the web page to see that the transaction was detected.

Tax is good,The Governments use taxation to encourage or discourage certain economic issues and decision. The more people pay taxes the results are greater construction activities of infrastructure such as schools, roads, hospitals and other public facilities and also generates more jobs. A charity uses their money to do good things. Governments sometimes use their money to do good things. The question is not about what is done with the money but how it is obtained. The question posed is not "can money be used in a useful way?". Start another thread if that is what you want to discuss.

There is no way to escape these people via the digital domain. The only way out of the debt based and/or usury system is by physical metals used in native coin form.
What if they decide to confiscate or heavily tax possession of gold and silver one day? there is no escape The answer to that question is simple. It's highly cost effective and easy for bankers who have co-opted the government to turn the internet into a police state where all transactions can be tracked, monitored, and gouged for fees, while it takes thousands of orders of magnitude more energy and resources to monitor every square inch of physical space in the real world, as opposed to the digital one. It's just not doable. Real freedom is found where it's not economical to establish a police state, not places where it's cheap and easy. The US has outlaws gold before, don't think they wouldn't do it again. Or worse...they outlaw tungsten then all the gold holders are going down.
