301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR the next bitcoin? on: September 20, 2016, 09:23:26 AM
It looks really dope for me, the price is getting huge.
But we probably won't see the phenomenon of btc- it was first crypto, bear in mind because people won't get over-excited about it,
like it was with bitcoins.

That is like saying if a new coin comes along that is a revolutionary innovation over Bitcoin the price will not increase much and people will not get too excited etc.

I call bullshit !

The problem staring you all in the face is Monero (or any ANON coin made *so far*)
Is not good enough to dethrone Bitcoin.. hence the luke warm reaction from the Altcoin scene.

Truth is here guys if we did see a clear cut winner we would in fact see an explosion of interest.
Prime Coin comes to mind.. it exploded in popularity when it came out way back.
But later we all seen the tech-gimmick/feature it has was not as useful as we first perceived.

I see excuse makers.
One that has been popping up a lot lately is "Bitcoin is the first coin"
There may be some truth to that but when you guys keep saying it defending Monero etc it comes across as bullshit.

Better is better.
If a new coin comes along that is better it WILL make a big stink.
Regardless of Bitcoin being the first.

People made new phones all the time like the Motorola RAZER etc
They would make *some* changes then roll out another model..
Getting a mediocre luke warm reaction from the public.
THEN ?
Touch Screen based Phones came out like the iPhone then Android etc.

Bitcoin is the Moto RAZER
We have not seen the iPHONE yet !

And Monero and it's tiring ANON gimmick is not Android  Roll Eyes
+1 Any one who thinks any coin will have a larger market cap then the king BTC is mistaken, But 2nd is prime for the picking ETH is a mess.

303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero vs CloakCoin vs shadowcoinvs vs NAV Coin on: September 20, 2016, 04:07:08 AM
If you can view the amount an address has, or if there is a Rich List for the coin, then it's not a private coin.

Of these, only Monero does not have a rich list, nor can you view the amount an address has. It's the only private coin.

Thats such simpleton talk.
SDC has a public and a private balance appearing on rich list is optional.
we have best of both worlds  Wink

[repetitive, non-responsive deflection]

No comment on RingCT?

No comment on LMDB?

Based on that, I guess you are just a script kiddie moonchild.
Everybody knows where SDC got the ring signatures because they were first to build it on Bitcoin base, they built it from scratch unlike MNR who purely cloned it, and they still don't even have a GUI!

Did XMR have a bug? I thought only shadow had a bug  Undecided

306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR bug? on: September 20, 2016, 01:59:49 AM
I bought SDC at between 5k-15k and have lots so no far from it thanks, I also used to hold XMR

Imagine if you like Thiel bought Facebook only to divest and buy into all the other similar shit that popped up after it started succeeding.

There is a reason why you hear VCs make buck even if "X/10" investments fail or whatever. Cut losses quickly on losers double down on winners.
Yeah i could do that but i would rather support something that I and others believe in.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR the next bitcoin? on: September 20, 2016, 01:58:16 AM
I doubt it just have a look at how it measures up to the supposed shit coin Shadowcash(SDC).
No wonder XMR fan boys wage a smear campaign on it this chart sort of speaks for its self! now go check the price difference  Roll Eyes

You forgot the following box:

- Crypto has been broken by another coin's developer (SDC check) ----> which implies your first item for SDC is false as it has been de-anonymized by Shen Noether.

- Accepted in DNMs (XMR check)

Two more very important features:

- RingCT - invented by Dr. Shen, the math boss who broke Shadowcash (XMR check)

- LMDB - ported and optimized by hyc, the DB guru who invented it (XMR check)

As I mentioned in some other thread no other coin challenges Bitcoin in any serious or meaningful way than Monero after ETH messed up.
No doubt of that Bitcoin to me is the official reserve currency of crypto It's market cap will continue steady growth, and a select amount of alternative currencies will also have success, ones with use.
But nothing is going to have a bigger market cap then BTC i believe.

there are a lot of lies going around  about SDC please do your own research.
Yes we had a bug and it was fixed promptly but transactions were still protected by shadowcash’s stealth addresses
I have been with project for 2 years and personally donated to them i would not do so if i did not trust them.

the lead developer Rhyno even revealed his identity in full

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/shadowcoin-lead-developer-rynomster-shadows/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUuk3W4tSzo interview with rhino.

The team are very real, very loyal to their community and have a great vision that they pursue with a fierce passion.
If there is anything i have learnt from spending over 2 years with this community.
Its that the team take users security and privacy very seriously and are generally pissed off about the Orwellian society that we are quickly becoming as am I.
I know when the Bug was found in shadowcash it was a real kick in the guts to them and they felt like they had let us all down, that shows they actually care about the community.
this isn’t about money for them thats why for 2 years they have developed with almost no funding, SDC had no IPO/ICOs Premine Instamine the dev hold little coins and thats a fact.
they do this because they believe in it and thats why i stick with them for so long.

Upcoming Monero Hard Fork Lays Foundation For Complete Anonymity

Over the past few weeks, there has been a significant interest in Monero. Not only did the alternative currency gain significant value in recent weeks, but it also got accepted on various darknet markets. The developers have announced a hard fork, which will bring several changes to the ecosystem.

The Monero hard fork will go into effect on September 21st. Users and miners will need to update their clients on that date – or close to it at last – to ensure they are compatible with the changes. Although there is no spectacular change, there will be some exciting additions to the codebase.

Monero network blocks will enforce coinbase transactions to be split into new denominations. Doing so will prevent unmixable inputs from being created.  To put this into layman’s terms: everyone who is mining Monero will be able to remain completely...

OHH so XMR wasn't already fully anon please tell me more, Hows that GUI coming?

315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized 2FA Wallet Services on: September 19, 2016, 10:18:54 PM
Implement it please

It's already been implemented and its working great on VTR.

We need other projects to figure out a way to get the devs of VTR to help them implement it on their own coins.
It's an attack vector like i said when you suggested it in the SDC thread.
remembering to encrypt your wallet.dat with a decent password, 20+ characters upper and lower, symbols etc plus a good antivirus on your computer or even better a cheap computer just for your crypto is much better then this.
If you fail to do the above it's like failing to take the keys of of you cars ignition, It's your fault.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Dev's do NOT deserve to be "Paid" on: September 19, 2016, 01:46:10 PM
Developers don't deserve to be paid they should be motivated by the potential to further the movement, Not to make a quick $$.
But If those developers deliver a worthy product that makes the speculators betting on it wealthy i think they deserve at least recognition for that in the form of donations.
I do not believe in premises, instamines, ICOs, IPOs If developers want to hold their own coin they should buy them with their own money and they should work for free and only receive donations as a form of payments because it was their choice to start the project.
if this was a rule there would be so many less useless projects around.

So on a scale of complete dumbass to blithering idiots, how badly did the SDC team fuck this up?

"1. The bug itself was an error that any very amateur cryptographer could make (that would include me) if they were foolish enough to try to implement this without any sort of help or review from a competent cryptographer or mathematician (that would not include me). That still foolish, but perhaps understandable given limited resources and a mandate to implement the promised features anyway.

2. The "SDC Deanonymized? Nope" blog post was an epic and complete fail on the level of blithering idiots who are also complete dumbasses. That includes the claim of not being able to reproduce the flaw in 10 hours of trying. I'm not sure I believe they even tried, or which would be worse."

lol, like bringing smooths opinion into the argument is going to help. Smooth is one of the adults that led your kid cryptographer astray

Its all documented here: https://decentralize.today/monero-had-the-same-bug-as-shadow-33a86ddeac2e#.sjo6i1y7j

If it was an error that any amateur cryptographer could make then they did it themselves also

+1  Wink Great article mate.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin implementing confidential transactions on: September 19, 2016, 01:34:03 PM
LTC will do well in the long run anyway for the reason mentioned above maturity it's been up it's been down but it's still here that says there is confidence in it, that's what future investors will be looking for as things in the world get crazier.
I believe BTC LTC futures are set in stone at this point, a few other useful alts will also do well.

LTC will be stabilized with anon features utilized globally in the DNM's before any other new shitcoin shadowcoin.
it's shadowcash and it's over 2 years old with a smaller less funded development team and way more features then LTC.
LTC is just lucky it was the first coin to clone BTC that's what set it in stone the rise of BTC gathered a massive speculative community around it, nothing more then hype.
I't has no advantages over BTC anymore or shadowcash Kiss

No offence but that seams like desperation, they can't think of anything else so they do the flavour of the month, not that it matters to me it's no threat to my investmenT.
Just reminds me of when MNR changed to XMR because XC was getting pumped thus starting the "add x to the start of your coins name because it sounds cooool" trend.
