301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Introducing Francs FRN. Leading the Revolution. on: January 28, 2016, 08:17:17 AM
already up there near the top on yobit..
if the premine is not currently in 'play' as the dev says  - there should be around 58,000 FRN in circulation @ the current block.
lowest premine child output I found is 20k which hasn't moved apparently since block 148 on dec 17th (not well versed with explorers) http://185.14.184.239:4444/address/FBf7m3agRNftUA4agppJrbRws5uYhjiMVj hope it stays that way for some time until the market is solid enough to absorb some of that without taking a hit.

@wurstgelee

That's right.

Pretty good step then, people should feel a bit more confident to buy/hold/trade and/or follow the coin now. I'll try to grab a few to satisfy my gambling needs  Smiley.

We are building something that can last in time with some solid basis. I would now consider very unwise to just cash out and leave. We will have to be patient. Efforts always pay.

I know most of the devs in the altcoin scene may say the same but, well, that's the truth. This project can grow and we know how to make it grow. The mining model was set up in order to avoid inflation. Because in our opinion inflation is the wrong way to go. Ultimately I don't want to sound harsh but nobody is forced to play !

Not the case about being forced to 'play' - I haven't made up my mind yet. It's about good faith from your part which would attract a lot more participants which would reflect on the books with liquidity and community involvement, not just those who seek to hype and dump and leave.

premine is 'decent' if the 11mil already existed but that's not the case. You will have 99% decreasing as time goes by - around 50% in 6 months. Will you escrow the funds?

It is certain that some of the premine is going to be sold within the first year, probably between 1/5 and 2,5/5. So no that's not planned. How long do you think the funds should be put in escrow ?

multisig address for premine with escrow + monthly % unlock would make sense. if you own more than a few % supply at any point in time that'll sound like a scam.

cheers

Something along those lines would be fair.

Thanks for your enthusiasm everybody.

A few things,

- Yobit will have FRN listed for tomorrow.

- Please don't use the Paypal service now. As we currently need a correct pricing to convert the EUR into FRN.

- There is a problem with the web wallet on mobile. Use the web wallet on Mac or PC instead.
Please take care if you generate an adress, ex : FCSKey6MAjK65FEEpAEcbg8Epragf2cW2w then the wallet adress is not going to be www.frn.cash/#FCSKey6MAjK65FEEpAEcbg8Epragf2cW2w . It would have been simpler but this is not the case. The adress is different. This is very important. We've made the same mistake and we are looking to fix this so the adress can be copy-pasted from the iOS / Android App.

- For ongoing translations, please check the following topic : http://francs.heberg-forum.org/sutra1.html#1

- About the block reward, as you can see in the annoucement text, it have been fixed at 20 FRN per block. The Halving will happen every two years.

- If you notice some english mistake from our own in the announcement text or website, could you please inform me by MP.

Lack of liquidity - both up and down -  for such a high market cap is kind of scary for new comer traders. I'd like the project to grow on me as opposed to being forced to hold a bag due to 'ideals' about the tech, so will hold my satoshis for now.

Looking forward to finding out more about the project as time goes by.

311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT on: December 23, 2015, 02:13:42 AM
I am new to Bitcredit and installed the wallet. Synchronzing stops again and again. Syncing is very slow overall. Some ideas how to fix it?

Use the bootstrap here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896133.msg13234040#msg13234040

It might get stuck a couple of times while syncing. For that just look at the block it got stuck at and get its hash, restart the wallet and immediately go to the console and type 'reconsiderblock pastehashherexxxxxxxxx and let it do its thing. Theres two blocks that gave me problems and had to do the reconsiderblock for those two..... after that you'll have no issues.

Nice sexy miner console there!

@Bitcreditscc

Is the GUI node control is gone now? So lazy, was waiting for a way to edit the IP on my nodes to put them online instead of doing all the manual stuff ..... Gone for ever?
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | URGENT UPDATE Dec. 16 2015 on: December 21, 2015, 01:13:49 AM
Found a bug I think:

on the Overview tab type a filter to narrow down the transaction list, then click export .... wallet crashes.

Anyone bootstraping let me know when you get in sync or have issues. Would be nice to catch them all now.

just updated without moving anything and it synced fine... same block as chainz.

Testing a different data folder syncing from scratch working fine so far but it is very slow. Will leave this one running for a few more hours to see if i encounter anything.

*EDIT* turned it off... processed around 30K blocks in three hours so in my case it would have been around 26 hours @ around 10k / hour to get up to the current block height. In the past my guesstimate was nearly a week so i guess its multiple times faster now. reference below:

Sync, while faster than the first rc is still pretty slow than most clients, while we have a lot more going on than clones, i still think we can do better.

with everything in place, has any windows user had a crash?

no crashes but yes it looks like in my case it will take a week to sync. I'm on block 42159 after 10 hours

I want to learn more about this project so I'll try to collate information as I read (and do).

Step one and two for me is learning about mining and setting up a node.

If one of these days you, or anyone recently discovering this project,  are forced to stay home and got time to kill, read what you can from the beginning, you'll wonder wtf have you been doing in other 'projects' and I call them 'projects' just to be respectful. The lack of info on OP made me do just that....
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | URGENT UPDATE Dec. 11 2015 on: December 13, 2015, 01:37:25 AM
mark all the files ( ctrl a), unzipp. Worked fine with 7-Zip.

That's what I mean. I don't have an option to unzip:

look at my post above..... start with bcr's link, right click extract content, youll get 10 files.... good. now open winrar from the start menu not the right click context dialog. Winrar will show you a folder view - navigate to the folder where you extracted the 10 7z files and click on anyone of those and winrar will you you its contents then just drag its contents out of there to your desired folder or click on "extract to"

Stupid question because I get the Winrar Diagnostic error: Can not open file.

Does it work with the Evaluation Copy (yeah I am cheap Smiley )  I did the Extract to and tried to drag the contents but it just left them zipped.

Maybe I need to try winzip or it could just be I am having operator error (in layman terms I am an idiot).

Nope, I got the free version - i get the buy now screen and adverts every time i open winrar,

You can see here is the option to unzip:

And if I rename (drop the 00.1) then it turns into a zip. Only problem I don't know what files go with what. As I would have to also rename the files since they can't be the same.

with winrar it doesn't need to be renamed... you have to open winrar first then navigate to the folder with the 10 7zs files, then click on ONE OF THOSE to view its contents, then click on extract files on winrar.
