302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is mining worth trying ? on: June 04, 2015, 01:41:47 PM
from my point of view, solo mining is no profitable anymore, is only profitable if you have cheap electricity, but you can always join in a pool, maybe thats the best chooise for you.

btw you can always rent some hw and use it, sometimes is a good idea Wink

cheap electricty wont help you solo mining, you need a pretty good damn equipments if you want to go with that route, we are now around 300p peta right?

without considering the diff, one should look at around 1 block per month at least, to begin with solo mining, this mean that at current diff you need around 80 tera or 70 antminers s5

70 antminers s5 are 70, cost 25k

and even with 1 block a month solo mining, the breakeven point would be at least half a year even with free electricity, most likely a year with cheap electricity (realistically). But better miners are always being produced, and the difficulty will likely rise too, so the breakeven point might be even longer than 1 year.
303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to get highest free BTC? on: June 04, 2015, 01:37:46 PM
You can try joining a signature campaign as many people have said here. There are some signature campaigns that will accept members with your rank. Signature campaigns are very high paying compared to faucets, they are a great way to earn some BTC.

probably the right answer; this forum is a fantastic source of "free" bitcoin. "free" because its not completely free; you need to post for it but its still pretty free as long as your posts have good quality.
304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How CloudMining is Profitable ? on: June 04, 2015, 01:36:20 PM
the idea is that with the contract you purchase form the company, the hashing power you purchased will give you X amount of return per day, and you should see a ROI in a few months; from there on everything else should be profit.
305  Economy / Gambling / Re: MiniDice - Simple Dice for Quick Rolls - Fair - Open Source Script on: June 04, 2015, 10:27:42 AM
sorry bud, but i dont know if people will play on your site at all with the sawdice scam that just happened.
306  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk effect on Bitcoin ? on: June 04, 2015, 09:59:18 AM
it wouldnt affect bitcoin that much, the most it would do is eliminate a way for many people to earn bitcoin through signature campaigns though. In the long run, services would lose a place to advertise, and we might see a decline in the use of bitcoin related services
307  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptsy Problems Bitcoins frozen on: June 03, 2015, 10:18:28 PM
most likely they are requiring 2FA because you are trying to withdraw such a large amount, and since the transaction wont be reversible, they just want to make sure the funds are going to the right person.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ✪ E-SPORTS PICKS : CSGO/LoL : 420 WINS - 69 LOSSES : MIDDLEMAN SERVICES on: June 03, 2015, 10:14:51 PM
looks like the parlay was lost with VP taking the match off TSM, the virtus plow making a big showing. but, i did make up for the loss and made a bit with this line to cover it, not so bad

general tip for everyone: flipside is pretty free on ESL league at the least, s1mple still banned.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ✪ E-SPORTS PICKS : CSGO/LoL : 420 WINS - 69 LOSSES : MIDDLEMAN SERVICES on: June 03, 2015, 07:04:59 PM

going to try out this parlay, I think it has a fair chance of hitting, not saying it will, but its got a chance.
310  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] CryptoVPN.me - Absolutely no logging - on: June 03, 2015, 04:44:39 PM
got to try out the service for a month, so far the service is great; simple and easy to use client, alright speeds, and a fair variety of servers to choose from. had some problems connecting at times, but i think that was mostly due to my OS. great service.
311  Economy / Gambling / Re: sawdice the New Age of Dice - Let's play a game. on: June 03, 2015, 04:22:47 PM
if next month a new dice site pops up and it's "Friday The 13th" themed site. we may know who it is.

im sick of scammers. hope no one got taken for a lot
if he is an intelligent scammer he surely wont do the same theme, as most probably he reads the comments and he wont be so suspicious

i would be suspicious of any new site that comes along in the next month or so at the very least, especially if its a dice site, the scammer might just make a new dice site with the same script.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Record 152,800 Bitcoin transactions on May 28 following constant growth all year on: June 03, 2015, 03:36:44 PM
Hope that in the near future, the network can produce 2 txs per second (172800 txs per day).

This could be just an intermediate stage. If Bitcoin wants to become a real competitor as a payment processor for mainstream it must be process more Txs per seconds. For example, Visa and Mastercard process 7 txs on average. This should be the goal midterm.

I think your rate is wrong according to ECB report Mastercard processes more than 1000 tx/second and VISA process ~2500 tx/second. (Mastercard : 93578 txs/day ; VISA: 212603 txs/day)

So there are too much way for Bitcoin to reach that point. And this also requires more hashing power , more electricity and more cost for mining BTC. And this results increase in price when everything goes smoothly. I think Bitcoin is settling down. I dont care why the price of it is so low.

Unless a day has 100 seconds your tx/second or tx/day are not possible. They don't add up. Feels like the tx/sec re a bit high to me.

yeah the math doesnt even come close to adding up, maybe those are the record numbers for the highest rate of transactions per second? the transactions/day does seem alright though.
313  Economy / Services / Re: Primedice bot creator. on: June 03, 2015, 02:38:09 PM
thats a pretty specific set of bets you want out of your bot, I don't think the order of 'over and under' matter too much when it comes down to it, it is gambling after all
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can an Anonymous Recluse Who Vanished Push Out Alerts to Each Bitcoin Wallet? on: June 03, 2015, 02:30:37 PM
Im pretty sure satoshi still has alert keys for himself, and if he ever wanted to come back and update the client he could drop an alert.

I agree, highly likely he is still in possession of those keys, if he's even still alive. No reason for him to completely up and abandon his creation forever.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using less Bitcoin than you did last year? on: June 03, 2015, 01:19:14 PM
I both use and buy bitcoin more, bitcoin is always being integrated into more products and services, and there always seem to be plenty of opportunities to use it.
316  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Store Bitcoin-QT's Blockchain Data in The Cloud? on: June 02, 2015, 09:14:40 PM
Hi!  So I was going through my laptop and cleaning it out and realized that the blockchain data is really taking up a big percentage, and that by removing it I could save a lot of space on my hard drive.  At first I was just going to move it to a flash drive or my portable HDD, but then I thought of the idea of using something like Dropbox or Google Drive to store it.  And I don't mean just backing up the blockchain and copying to those hosts, I mean directly storing the blockchain that the wallet itself uses in the cloud.  The blockchain doesn't contain any sensitive data, so it's no like people could hack my online accounts and steal my data, so why not?  Of course it'd be slower, but I have a fast internet connection so that shouldn't matter too much.  As long as I save some space.  The only problem is, I don't know how!  I was thinking up just setting the blockchain directory to my Dropbox folder, but then it would still be on my computer.  So that wouldn't work.  Now I'm pretty much out of ideas... I'm open to using any cloud storage service, because as I said security isn't an issue.  Maybe you guys can think of something I can't.  Thanks!

You could use a light wallet for this purpose. I do not think there is a cloud interface which uploads and downloads the required data when requested at present.  I think this could be technical achievable but there is simply no such implementation afaik. Another solution might be to use one of the wallet services as people mentioned.

this. electrum and multibit are two great light wallets; they sync the blockchain from servers and do not require any download of the blockchain.
317  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: itbit become first bank, what do you are think ? on: June 02, 2015, 09:09:48 PM
i would think that most bitcoin users would be against the idea of banks as it promotes centralization. in addition, this would link your identity to your spendings as well, eliminating anonymity.
318  Economy / Gambling / Re: LUCKYBALLS.IO | New Multi-Coin Game * Free Bitcoins * Provably Fair on: June 02, 2015, 05:13:37 PM
is it possible to deposit in 1 currency and withdraw to another? if not it could be a cool addition that I don't often see on most other gambling sites. nice design too, very visually appealing.
319  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Extracting the Private Key from a TREZOR ... with a 70 $ Oscilloscope on: June 02, 2015, 05:10:24 PM
great read, crazy what people can do with technology these days. even though a trezor might be considered incredibly safe, its clear there are always workarounds for anything.
320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: buying btc with Credit Card? on: June 02, 2015, 04:58:16 PM
i don't know about low fees because the transaction can be reversed by calling the card company, but circle and coinbase both allow the purchase of bitcoin through a credit card.
