in a few weeks THE DAO will be up in the top 5 too
misleading though as people can burn their tokens in a split and take back their investment if the return or system isnt what they expected it to be after the funding period. u talking about THE DAO or Digixdao? TheDao tokens.

I think its not profitable to mine ethereum right now here in my country with current cost of 0.1cents because more people from bitcoin mining are converting into etherium mining.. and i think more difficulty for ethereum will come sooner.. if they release a new hardware with high speed mining rig..
i seriously doubt that.. bitcoin mining hardware will not work on the ethereum network. mining with gpu's is considerably more involved than what bitcoin ASIC technology has evolved to. there will not be any "new hardware" with high speed mining for the ethereum network because 1) they have implemented safeguards that change things up every epoch or 30,000 blocks 2) its common knowledge proof of stake is an eventuality of this network.. meaning all hardware mining work is disregarded and the currently circulated coins themselves are the sole source for minting fresh ether. not to say a new fast video card cant be released, but thats not going to bridge the gap from gpu to asic by any means.

I think it is a valid concern considering that the DAO has little legal recourse or protection. What would happen if say Samsung just came in and bought out Slock.it next year? The DAO has no equity, so they would not benefit like a traditional VC would in the case of a buyout.
Who told you that? The DAO has the same legal recourse and protection as any international company. Why would you assume differently? Even if Samsung bought out Slock.it they would still have to fulfil the terms of the contract or face legal sanction. and "terms of any contract" would be proposed and up for discussion in the two weeks prior to voting? really curious how a proposal would be put forth and how much legalese could be disseminated by the crypto community.

so i have been playing around with board configuration, frequencies and voltages..
one thing i have asserted as a certainty is that the issue of heatsinks falling off during shipment, should no longer be of concern LOL
pretty sure they're like cemented on or something now. almost killed a blade trying to remove one, but was able to resuscitate.
unfortunately my board that ran 5 degrees cooler than the other two now runs 4 degrees warmer on average. sign, cost of "error" in trial and error.

its just the bb board. its like 100g and the size of a credit card

i'm willing to trade my spare antminer s7 bb that works with s5, s5+ and s7 dual or single fan versions for a set of modular power supply cables compatible with the EVGA G2 power supply.
need 7 PCIE 6pin connectors, whether it's 4 cables with two ends or 7 individual makes no difference to me.

agree but its also a coin that could up and disappear or get dumped into oblivion.
risk vs. reward how much are you willing to lose?

can anybody answer where the temperate sensor on head hashing board is located?
just looking for the general vicinity although a picture with the sensor circled would be great.
mostly concerned if its in the back, front, end top or bottom of the board for gauging accuracy of the reported readings.
Temperature sensor is in the very middle of the Top / Non ASIC / Connector side of the board. Rich Ty Rich, this may explain why one board always reports about 5-10 degrees cooler than others on my miner.

yeah but you could always drop some ducting down from a ventilation fan that is pulling upwards of 150cfm and split to multiple miners to draw away the heat.. ambient would benefit and the result would be a push/pull for the S7F1 at minimal cost.
thanks for the link

hey i notice the daemon does not have the getstakinginfo call like other PoS coins do.
if one wants to just run the daemon, is it possible to stake as well? is there an entry in the conf that needs to be specified like daemon=1 or staking=1?
any advantage to running daemon as opposed to qt when it comes to stake rewards?

What was the ICO price?
.01 eth per token.. but that token is just weight in what your say will be for how the eth you sent will be "invested" kind of like sharktank, but combining the tribal assembly concept of roman republic times.. instead of pebbles though tokens are used.. and some people have tons more than others. oh and there is a curator. man this is gonna be a zoo.

How to get out from Antminer S7 controller B.B.B. software ?
File System Version - Tue Sep 15 16:50:19 CST 2015
It still works great with the 6 x S7 blades.
This version has never been downloadable from Bitmain page.
how are you guys obtaining these extra blades? can you buy an io board from s5+ and just spare blades? cause they arent listed in bitmains page. i have confirmed an unpowered and unplugged hashing board does not appear in miner status page, no --- just not existant so logic would dictate adding a board is the matter of just plugging it in.. or there would be a decent chance of this working. what about cooling? It wont let me update the firmware cause it wont let me access the gui after a few minutes (maybe 2 minutes)
have you tried unplugging the boards power and data cable so just the io board and bb are plugged in to network and power? they are all that need the update really.

When creating a contract and sending money to it such as The Dao can you get your ETH back at anytime? If so how?
at least not until after the token creation period from what i understand.
