All Bata Core 0.10.4.1 wallets include Bitcoin Firewall 1.0 – Alpha –  uses a very unique method for detecting potential hard-fork attacks coupled with specific block chain DDoS flooding. All connected nodes/peers are examined by the amount of data they’re sending or receiving from a peer with the firewall enabled. If bandwidth usage is greater than the limits set the connecting node is further examined to verify their blockchain start height is within safe limits of the average among all peers connected. Range based blockchain checkpoints that use averages of live blockchain sizes further enhance security by limiting potential attacks known as >51% of distributed hashing power.

Once a potential attack is detected the connected node/peer is forcefully terminated and added to a session blacklist. Configuration options, as well as long-term blacklist storage and future sharing among peers will be implemented during future developments.

As development previous posted we recently developed and integrated the world's first Bitcoin Firewall into Core 10.4. Core 10 implementation of connections firewall + attack detection.

Some not very interesting news but important: Bata blockchain enforced version 4 of the blocks at Block # 675533



Which means wallets (before 0.10) that do not support version 4 will be stuck at this block.

At present development is working dynamic checkpoints. Our source code (0.10.4) is much newer than those other crypto's that have dynamic checkpoints - most have static checkpoints, which we currently do. Therefore more coding is required than a copy and paste. Once midnightminer is completed we will be able to update Bittrex and all other wallets. Midnightminer has been working day and night on the update.

Once this is completed we will update you to the progress on all projects.

An update on the development:
Most of the wallet is updated to Core 0.12 to keep up to the changes implemented in Bitcoin and other coins such as Dash, PIVX, etc that have Masternodes.
The current issue is the mining or Block Generation code.  Having some issues at the moment.  I hope to resolve over the next few days.

Target for this week will be a Core 0.12 wallet successfully compiled and ready for testing on the weekend.
Next week will be integration of PoW/PoS.
Following this will be Masternode integration testing.

Bittrex suggested that we keep the BTA wallet in maintenance mode until we release Hybrid due to the rate that other blockchains are being attacked.

The team would have to agree with the suggestion. We do not want to compromise anyone's BTA that is held on Bittrex.

We are maintaining the hashrate and Midnightminer is working hard on the Hybrid. An update on progress will be made at the end of the week.

Information regarding Masternodes will also be made available at the end of the week.

Last but certainly not the least, an update on Profit Shares (release has been purposely held back due to current events) by the end of the week.

Perfect time

The problem either way will be rectified, due to Hybrid development.

Wallet in maintenance just means you cannot deposit BTA or withdraw. You can still purchase BTA and trade.

A number of POW cryptocurrencies have attacked recently with a 51% attack.

We were hit first time and lost a small number of BTA. Bittrex noticing put our wallet into maintenance mode, which we thank them for. We decided to lift the number of confirmations and put the wallet back online.

More coins started to get attacked, with much higher confirmations, so Bittrex proactively put our wallet into maintenance before we were attacked again.

For an attack to be worth the time and money, the reward must also be high. We since actively been monitoring the hashrate of each pool and maintaining our own pool with higher hash rates  than any pool approaching the 50% mark. Just over a Bitcoin of hash rentals has been spent since attack to ensure the network security is maintained.

We have created a second pool which we will also be maintaining.

In addition I have ordered mining hardware to the value of just under $10k USD, but must wait for delivery.

We are fast tracking Hybrid Pow/Pos, which the goal is to have in place before block 700k - which is estimated at 20 days or so. This will ensure that BTA cannot be targeted by a 51% attack and strengthen security.

We also decided that we did not need the extra attention, making ourselves a target again, so Profit Shares release has been delayed until July approximately.
