321  Economy / Economics / Re: Apple IOS updates affecting Tech companies earnings on: February 05, 2022, 02:13:55 PM
Not only blaming Apple, when Facebook went down a while ago, Zuckerberg also blamed TikTok for their losses. They mentioned that quite a lot of their users have switched to TikTok and don't check in to their Facebook account anymore https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10471227/Facebook-loses-users-time-Zuckerberg-blames-TikTok-boom.html. But it's also quite funny considering that even though they are losing money, they still have 1.9 billion users on their platform and this number will also increase.

I think the most plausible reason for this loss is because the bubble has burst because most stocks of tech companies are overvalued https://www.thestreet.com/investing/tech-sell-off-continues-signs-point-to-a-bubble-burst.
322  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: (DISKUSI)JEBAKAN SCAM & RUGPULL MEME TOKEN / KOIN MICIN on: February 05, 2022, 02:15:26 AM

323  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Pasar Setan Itu Bernama Forex on: February 04, 2022, 03:22:59 PM

325  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF urges El Salvador to remove Bitcoin as legal tender on: February 04, 2022, 09:19:04 AM
First of all, how could a deflationary coin like Bitcoin cause inflation? as far as I know, the main factor in inflation is an increase in the prices of goods and services (https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/111314/what-causes-inflation-and-does-anyone-gain-it.asp) . And also El Salvador not only use Bitcoin as their currency, they also use USD to support their economy. So the IMF's reasoning doesn't make sense. Moreover, El Salvador is sovereign over the regulations in their country, and the IMF as a global financial organization should respect any decision made by the president of El Salvador.
I think the discussion has become too complex already. From my own understanding, if IMF cannot convince El Salvador to drop bitcoin as a legal tender, i think the best way is to regulate bitcoin in El Salvador. That way, IMF may stop urging El Salvador to narrow down the scope of bitcoin or drop it. Here are also some countries that have regulated, or planning to regulate the use of crypto. Read here: https://www.reuters.com/markets/currencies/imf-asks-el-salvador-drop-bitcoin-more-countries-clamp-down-2022-01-26/

It is true that in some countries the circulation of cryptocurrencies is regulated. The government reasons that they want to protect their people from things like fraud, money laundering, etc. https://www.ndtv.com/business/5-reasons-why-cryptocurrency-regulation-is-important-2637741. But I think the regulation of cryptocurrency is quite funny because cryptocurrency itself is a digital asset that was launched to become a decentralized financial system that is free from government or third-party intervention.
326  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Binance action revitalize Nigeria community? on: February 04, 2022, 03:10:35 AM
thinking that Nigeria is one of the countries with the largest crypto users in the world, Binance might be able to revitalize the crypto community in the country with some actions like account freeze, etc. But back to the local government, do they agree with the steps taken by Binance?
327  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Debt Rate rose to $30 Trillion on: February 03, 2022, 07:49:30 AM
Even though the US debt is very large and has even increased in recent times, the US government has several ways to reduce their debt, such as increasing taxes, reducing the military budget, to creating new money to pay their debts https://www.investopedia.com/updates/usa-national-debt/. And it also seems that the U.S. government has no plans to reduce their debt and even increase their debt in the near future https://carnegieendowment.org/chinafinancialmarkets/78304
328  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Son of Omicron is here. on: February 03, 2022, 02:57:10 AM

To be honest, I was already on 2 doses of vaccine a few months ago and didn't think about getting a booster vaccine which is recommended by the government.
I don't think about fighting new virus variants by using vaccines. I am currently thinking of letting my body's immunity naturally fight the new variants of the coronavirus.

The data are very clear that vaccine protection wanes over time. I've presented charts demonstrating this previously. Your best action is to take the booster.

"Booster shots with messenger RNA vaccines such as those made by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE failed to block Omicron in a study of some of the first documented breakthrough cases caused by the highly contagious variant." https://fortune.com/2022/01/19/covid-19-boosters-block-immunity-omicron-study-finds/

It seems that booster vaccines are not very effective in preventing new variants, especially this Omicron variant. So that booster vaccine injection is not the best option for now.
329  Economy / Economics / Re: (Crazy HIGH Taxes) Inside California’s Black Market Weed Boom on: February 02, 2022, 02:56:40 PM
Even though they (legal stores) make little money from selling marijuana due to high taxes, they are doing business legally which is safer and they won't be chased by the police for illegal sales. As for those who sell and grow marijuana illegally, even if they earn a lot, they will not be safe in running their business. They must ensure that the police will not find out where their business is or else their business will be forcibly closed.
330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Son of Omicron is here. on: February 02, 2022, 02:01:31 PM
I think Omicron is dangerous as compared to first one. So, i suggest everyone to be vaccinated and take preventive measures such as Social distancing, wash hands etc.

I think that we don't need to do things like that anymore because most people nowadays have been vaccinated and our immune system is also used to this coronavirus. But yes, sometimes I wear a mask just in case, for example in places where people are crowded, because I think we also need to wear masks occasionally, especially in places where people are crowded.
331  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Son of Omicron is here. on: February 02, 2022, 12:12:34 PM
Last December, the world was worried about the spread of Omicron in several countries such as America, England, and so on. This new variant of the coronavirus is spreading so fast - from 357,000 cases sequenced in the last 30 days, nearly 59% were omicron.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/omicron-variant.html

And recently there is a new variant called "Son of Omicron" which is more contagious and silent than the previous variant (omicron).

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10450721/Son-Omicron-Covid-variant-touched-Australia.html

What do you think about the new variant? will this be a variant of covid that will kill more people? Will there be more variants of the coronavirus in the future?

To be honest, I was already on 2 doses of vaccine a few months ago and didn't think about getting a booster vaccine which is recommended by the government.

I don't think about fighting new virus variants by using vaccines. I am currently thinking of letting my body's immunity naturally fight the new variants of the coronavirus.

Glad to see that you have woken up to the big pharma money grab and that your body isn't sponsored by Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J. The new variant is just like the others mostly hype. The biggest problem is the food we eat. Most of it is devoid of the nutrients needed to fight this so you have to supplement to gain better immunities. I wish more people could think like you and we can't just leave each other alone to live our lives again. No more masks (unless you choose to wear one) and no more vaccines mandated (unless you choose to take it) all of these things should be optional in a truly open and free society.

Yes, you are right about that. Everyone should have the choice not to wear a mask, not to get vaccinated, or anything else that is forced on them. Those things should be optional, and must be of their will.

333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is decentralization to be feared? on: February 02, 2022, 09:18:57 AM
Obviously organizations like the IMF which are driven by global elites don't want decentralized finance to exist in this world https://www.aa.com.tr/en/economy/imf-says-crypto-boom-poses-challenges-to-financial-stability/2380657. They don't want their control over global finance to be compromised by the presence of decentralized finance like Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
334  Economy / Economics / Re: The Difference Between Staking and Investing on: February 02, 2022, 06:36:27 AM
Both of them provide profit or loss to their users, whether it's investment or staking. For now I choose to invest in several companies and at the same time stake tokens to get passive income.

I can't say that staking gives more profit than investment or vice versa. Both have the potential to provide more profit to its users. But I can say that for me (now), staking provides a bigger profit. Besides getting rewards, I also get profit from increasing the price of the tokens I hold.

The difference between the two only lies in the investment instrument, staking can also be regarded as a form of investment because the purpose of investment is to get profit from the investment instrument we choose.
335  Economy / Economics / Re: China considering the use of Blockchain Technology on: February 02, 2022, 06:07:30 AM
Because Blockchain technology is an innovative and revolutionary technology, where people can make transactions more quickly and securely and free from manipulation. Blockchain technology itself can be applied to various sectors, not only in the financial sector. So that China's decision to allow Blockchain technology in their country will have various advantages. And this will not have a significant impact on their economy.

337  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why putin choose winter? on: February 02, 2022, 02:33:50 AM
Too much logic that doesn't make sense here. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine itself have been going on for a long time, what has caused the conflict to widen is the recent closeness of Ukraine to the western bloc, which makes Russia dislike it.

And 40% of Europe's gas demand comes from Russia. And now if Russia cuts off gas supplies, the economies of European countries will come to a standstill. One power plant after another, the factory will be closed. So the big countries of Europe will think twice before taking a tough stand against Russia.

And when it comes to gas and oil supplies, Europe relies 35% of natural gas on Russia. However, if we look at the situation, even if there is a war and gas supply cuts, Europe can divert their supply to several neighbouring countries (https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/what-are-europes-options-case-russian-gas-disruption-2022-01-27/) although there will be many problems during the transition process, I am sure it will not take long and that the party that will suffer the most is Russia itself because they will lose quite a lot of revenue from gas sales.

Was this the reson why Biden is shopping for gas/petroleum in Qatar?  The poor man is too old for this.

https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/biden-meets-with-emir-of-qatar-as-u-s-aims-to-allay-european-concern-about-natural-gas-supply-amid-elevated-russia-tension-01643660960

In the case war will really happen, they have something to give to EU to survive the winter. I dont know if any of the middle east countries will provide actually.

Even though Biden is old enough for this, he is still a president for America and a controller of NATO. Indirectly he should be responsible if something happens to the EU, such as cutting gas supply or at worst an invasion of one of the EU countries (which is unlikely to happen).

Qatar has also stated that they will supply gas and oil to the EU through their storage in East Asia. And in return they asked to end the European Commission anti-trust investigation and asked their gas and oil market to return to Europe (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jan/26/qatar-in-talks-to-supply-gas-to-europe-if-russia-cuts-supplies). So Qatar also doesn't help the EU for free.

I've had 2 doses of the vaccine a few months ago. Only felt a little fever on the first injection, but on the second injection, there were no side effects. But right now I have no thoughts of getting a booster vaccine, which is where the government says it is important to be able to get a booster vaccine to prevent omicron variants. I rely more on the natural immunity of my body to be able to fight the next variants and so far I'm still fine.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: Which business profit model do you prefer? on: February 01, 2022, 12:56:11 PM
I will choose to have a business with a small income but every day, because then I will be able to calculate how my business will run in the future. I can use some of the profit I get for investment and recalculate it. And this way it is much easier to make decisions in the future.
