It's good to hear that something finally happened, as I showed, my BTC coming to me within an hour, so if necessary, I can help with my Revolut wallet to accept the Big transfer Thanks, I appreciate the offer but as I said before, I was sending the funds to somebody so I don't really need this done myself. Besides, it seems like their fees for converting BTC to fiat are very high, at least if you're comparing it to P2P trading so overall, doesn't look like using Revolut's crypto services is really worth it.

Regarding the first point you mentioned, apparently, they're planning to publish "real-time" reserve data in the upcoming years[1]. Not sure if that's going to be something that they could easily "fake" or not? As for the "other things" then my problem is with the centralization. I know they claim to only use it when a service gets hacked, and the hacker converts his funds to USDT. but the fact that they are able to freeze any address any time they want is a bit scary. I don't think there are any reputable mixers that exist for USDT, simply because USDT is way too centralized and your address could get frozen.
I'm guessing you're just trying to hide your balance from another individual? If so, then deposits/withdrawals to another address could serve the same purpose.

The fees are skyrocketing because of ORDINALS and Binance listing Ordinal token, if I'm not mistaken. With 40 sat/byte you should expect your transaction to get confirmed soon, or you can increase the fees a bit more. See here: https://mempool.space/

Thanks for your detailed response. I would like to know more about the recovery process (which I believe is not available yet?) and how secure it is. and how difficult it is for someone (a hacker) to gain access to your wallet from either your device, or on another device since from my understanding, this whole passkey process uses your hardware, meaning even with your fingerprint/faceID, your wallet cannot be recovered elsewhere, but how would that work if you lose access to your phone? I read the FAQ, but maybe you can give more details on all of that?

It's definitely not something I would use, and whoever sent you the site is probably not someone you should trust. Just use Binance as you were going to, and then withdraw your funds to a personal wallet.

I'm curious as to what's the motive behind adding RUNE? Are you planning to implement Thorchain for cross-chain trading for all pairs? or just RUNE ones? I also want to know, if you're going to use Thorchain directly, or simply use Thorswap?

Yes, I would imagine that the site would also support sending funds to legacy addresses. Most exchanges I know would pick the network for you once you paste the address though, so you probably won't have to do anything anyway.
Besides, Not sure which exchange you're using but even assuming (even though it's unrealistic) that the exchange doesn't support a legacy addresses, you'll just get an error. It's not like they would take your funds and never send them to your address.

First, I would like to start by saying that I'm not affiliated with this project in any way. It's just a project that I have been keeping an eye on for some time because I found it to be interesting, and they just officially launched on the main net a few hours ago, so I thought I'd share[1][2]. The app is a non-custodial multi-coin wallet (currently only supports Ethereum, Polygon, and the Nervos network) but should support BTC, SOL, and other coins later. Unlike other wallets, this wallet uses passkeys. You don't need an email, a phone number, seedphrase, or any of that. See here for more info[3]. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this? I just started using it and will make sure to post updates as they add more features and coins. EDIT: Moved this to the wallet software board, as the developers are now supporting Bitcoin (SegWit, Taproot) and working on a Bitcoin layer 2 solution (RGB++). where to buy USDT and BITCOIN cheapest via Western Union ore Cash payment in EUROPE ?
I second the above suggestion. If you don't mind going through KYC, I would go with Binance P2P. There are no escrow/trading fees, it has both BTC and USDT and most importantly, there are plenty of offers and individuals you can deal with.

So here's a funny update about this whole situation:
The individual I sent the funds never followed the "verification process" but received a notification on the 3rd of November (a month from the deposit) that his funds were available, and he managed to sell them and transfer them to fiat.

Is there any article on how this works? Was this just software that generated fake addresses? Or did the scammer actually go through the effort of forking ledger live app, building his own version so that receiving addresses are just his?

That sounds bad, so we also don't know how much bitcoin they have? including casinos and centralized exchanges also the same? the numbers written on our account are just fake bitcoins? can they use the bitcoins we send them for their needs? As long as there are no major withdrawals on the exchange, no one will know that our bitcoins there have been used. Could that be true?
Well, now after the whole FTX thing, many exchanges have shared their hot/cold wallets addresses, so people can see how much money the exchange has. Now, is there a proper way to know whether that amount in those addresses equals exactly the amount of user's holdings? No, not for most exchanges anyway. As for your second question, then the funds never really sit at the address you send funds to. If you were to try and send BTC to your Binance's address for example, and then recheck that address in a blockexplorer a few minutes or hours later, you will see that the funds were moved (maybe to the exchange's hot wallet, or to another user who requested a withdrawal) and then, if you make a withdrawal request, your funds will come from somewhere else.
|
|
|
Yes, that's correct. They can't send you "real bitcoin" whenever you click the "claim" button because the fees for that would be higher than the amount they're sending, and you'd also need to deal with confirmation times. It's pointless with a custodial service anyway.
This is no different than the approach exchanges and casinos use. It's just a number in their database that keeps changing, and once you make a withdrawal request, that's when they send you the funds.

thanks for the valuable information , this mean the seedphrase are weak and more likely to fail with brute force? so actual passphrase is recommended but really i do need it or it just optional military grade thing for wallet ? i have second pin for blockchain wallet , any highly established online wallet that provide passphrase ?
i run my machine with linux distro . attacks are not common .
That's actually not what I meant. The seed phrase will be impossible to brute force regardless of the wallet you're using. The passphrase I was referring to, is a "custom word" (optional) you can add to your seed and memorize, that way, even if someone finds your seed written down, the hacker will just find an empty wallet since he doesn't have access to the custom words you've added. Unstoppable wallet should support passphrases as mentioned here: https://unstoppablewallet.medium.com/whats-new-version-0-21-c247a09d8b05
