321  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe BTC is going to trend down to $5,000 whats your thoughts on: March 28, 2018, 11:50:32 AM
IMO BTC is going to continue to trend down and settle around a range of $4,500 to $5,500 at a new psych level. Reasons are slow adoption world wide from other countries than Japan and growing competition from alts.

If your reason for bitcoin price is because altcoins competition, why altcoins price falling too ?
it should be only bitcoin price that falling. but it is still possible to occur that bitcoin will go to price around $6k.
just like last february 2018.

Because the market has become saturated with Alt cryptos taking 55% of the total market. If there were no Alts investors would be all in BTC which increases demand and price.  The over all market is down because profit taking moved to other investments so overall demand is also down.

Ill bid 0.4 BTC for it  Grin

Thank you.

If you happen to win, I'm actually flying to US next week. It should be much easier to ship the coin within US, I guess?

for sure no customs plus FedEx priority overnight

Shit, maybe I'll peel my V2 2011 brassy  Huh

yeh Im with LC I would not peel a 2011 just keep in mind the numismatic value is higher because these were the first.  I know that was a tough decision too when BTC hit 19k for a lot of folks and it really just depends on your need at the time. The good news is collectors like LC are out there to " Save the coins"  Smiley

I can see the trend and seen that the price being sustained at this range is awaiting a major break in an upward trend or a lower trend. I fear for it to break out down further. There are really a lot of factors working against the Cryptocurrency rise at this periods but soon, there will be a balance too.

yes that is the problem, Futures were not friendly to BTC other than letting wall street know hey we are playing this thing.  The good news is I believe eventually the good ole USA is going to surprise  the rest of the world and accept cryptocurrency as a legal financial asset following Japans lead. If for nothing else they want their finger in the pie being able to generate tax revenue.

This would be the shot heard round the world part 2

I think Bitcoin will rise up to $8,000 upwards, because the current negative issue about Bitcoin is almost faded. And weighing the diminishing coins I think Bitcoin will continue to rise. My advice just hold your bitcoin and wait for the benefits of folding. of course, it must be patient do not rush and panic sell with your Bitcoin.

That is not true, there is reason for bitcoin to go up.It is called supply and demand/Bitcoin only has 17 million coins in circulation and for the 7 billion people on the planet the supply is limited.

Bitcoin was designed to go up!

The fact that it is limited and the world has more and more users getting into it means the price has to go up
Supply and demand science at its most simple

yes that is true but lets face it the demand has fallen off for now in the overall market. BTC being first to market, having the name and finite by design are all good reasons for continued dominance and no doubt it is the king for now.

Current Crypto market cap $ 297.44B  /  BTC market cap $ 134,677,354,228 = 45%

yet the market itself will have to grow and at this time its barely holding its own. Its more likely IMO to downtrend a little more ( not a crash) until further positive developments. Thats just simple to me also and once again not bashing I love crypto, it is the future but just like the stock market you want to ride the best horses in the race. In the past GE Westinghouse IBM and GM were kings of their domain, however today its Sony, Samsung, Honda, Toyota and Apple.

I like the comment on the negative issues fading, I agree. Reminds me of the old show "Growing pains" its just part of the evolution of cryptocurrency. As an investor you have to set realistic short term and long term goals based on facts and of course some speculation. If it were easy we would just all invest with a software program predicting the future.  any way good luck in your investments guys and thanks for all the comments including the Russian guy Smiley  I will be playing FarCry 5 most of today but will come back now and then

Anyone know the value for one of these coins? Thanks!

yes, the last few months they ( 2011's) have become one of the better selling peeled coins. They have ranged from $200's to $700 depending on the condition of brass, holo left and current price trend in BTC. No holo and cleaned $170 + or - $20. The higher value was for a NM coin that still had all its address visible and a good part of the seal was not broke which is a rarity as most just pull the holo off.

2012's $150 to $200's same conditions
2013's brass $125 to $200  .5 slightly higher
327  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe BTC is going to trend down to $5,000 whats your thoughts on: March 27, 2018, 12:34:48 AM
To say bitcoin is going to 2000 or 5000 basically you are saying bitcoin will not just correct but it will crash that is what you say. BS

When it comes to predicting the price you HAVE TO use technical charting to back up your comments. Bitcoin touched bottom of 6000 then 7200 and not it was 7900 and it just popped up to 8200.So the Double or tripple bottom clearly shows it is going up but many of you have no patience. These things take months to move.remember in October 2017 about 6 months ago btc was 5k so in a half a year we are up 60% try that with the stock market!!

Why dont you people see the cup as half full instead of always half empty??

TA is worthless, this is not the well established stock market of which I dont even use TA then. This is still an emerging currency which just saw mainstream influx finally which was why the rise and what I had been waiting on. Well thats gone now so other targets cant be set until a wider acceptance by countries happens. In other words there currently is no reason for BTC to trend upwards.

Dont want you guys to think I am a negative nanny lol .. Im actually quite the opposite, Im also not a basher I believe strongly in the future of crypto currencies. However Im also an investor which makes me a realist I buy and sell all assets based on a lifetime of experience.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe BTC is going to trend down to $5,000 whats your thoughts on: March 26, 2018, 11:54:56 PM
How does it have growing competition from alts? Have you not seen that BTC dominance is almost 45% now? Compared to about 36% last November. Also, you post this right when BTC starts pumping its way back to $8,500. Bad timing dude.

Bad timing ??  you think today ( the last few hours) is the big turn around in a three month downtrend lol, guess we will see eh.

as far as market dominance I could argue BTC has lost 55% of the market since 2009, not to mention the overall market cap has been reduced from $750 B plus ( in Jan) to just $310 B today.  Alts like DASH have a well established foothold and preferred in certain countries,  MONA is a country specific (Japan) store of value coin that could dominate a region and upcoming KaratBank Coin KBC is just an example of more competition for the store of value market.

so until another sizable economic country adopts/recognizes cryptocurrency as a legal financial asset I will stick with 5k

330  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] CASASCIUS 25 BTC, no hologram, excellent condition on: March 25, 2018, 11:20:13 AM
I've kept the coin in a closed coin box for all these years.

Unfortunately I do not have the hologram anymore. Even if I did, I probably wouldn't include it. My real identity can easily be solved so I don't want my bitcoins or trades with bitcoins to be tracked. But that's just an excuse, I got rid of the hologram when I emptied the coin.

Did you clean the coin or is that the only glue residue that was left from the peal ?

335  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Satori IS***** CLOSING***** IMPORTANT NOTICE !!!!! on: March 23, 2018, 03:07:41 PM
Will have to be another country than China or Japan. BTCC already gone and Satori speculatively shutting down due to high cost of meeting Japan's AML/KYC requirements. What are the bitcoin friendly countries with the manufacturing capability for chips already in place? There is a void to be filled some entrepreneur may step up to the challenge.

Australia may get on board they seem to be pretty crypto friendly with the government funding some projects.

also Satori isn't the only one under the watchful eye of the FSA

Binance has received a formal warning from Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) for operating in the country without registering with the regulatory agency as a cryptocurrency trading platform.  In a letter dated March 23 and addressed to Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, the FSA warned the exchange operator to cease operating in Japan without a license.  moving to Malta I hear
336  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Satori IS***** CLOSING***** IMPORTANT NOTICE !!!!! on: March 23, 2018, 02:51:34 PM
Interestingly enough Japan has been one of the most "crypto-friendly" governments to date.  So bit of an odd move by them recently.  We've seen other countries go back and forth on their stance in the past.  Hopefully Japan will do the same and take the shackles off to allow Satori to continue to produce these fine tokens.

yes Smiley   JFS must follow current regulations and I think its just a matter of these changing in time to benefit Satori and the entire financial structure.  Japan is so cool I just want to live there a while lol

Same here but I would not hold my breath. They appear to be moving on to vending machines that can accept Bitcoin.

yep I think originally any way the idea was vending machines throughout Japan vending .50 cent worth of btc for fiat filling a quick demand for not only a physical coin but just owning btc. So now days as we know things changed rapidly and as a business they have to evolve to change. Probably have many more ideas such as different colors for different years in the future plus denomination change.  Might even see a MONA satori chip in future vending, wouldn't that be cool !

One thing is for sure, where there is a demand someone will meet it with supply Smiley  I love the name Satori and hope they do continue
338  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Satori Roll #473 potentially a 1 of 4 (out of 500+) roll on: March 23, 2018, 01:42:40 PM
No offer below .1 will be considered real.

And it is still factory sealed. Never opened. Perhaps you misread.

Hey Ticked,

I actually noticed that in the first shipment of the latest GB there were maybe 2-3 rolls that had this red circle and the "Assorted" text added to the roll.. No idea what it actually means or why but it probably is as you say, a mixture of coins that were left over that they just made a roll out of Cheesy. Perhaps open it up to inspect the serials? Although that would also be a shame.. Keep us posted anyways, and if someone else received one of these please chime in if you opened yours Cheesy

The temptation to open was real.  Like,m what if theres a pre-bch in there. thatd be real odd. Also easy to fake.  Itll stay sealed.  Anyone who opens one, id love to know what you find, and id advise videoing it start to fnish

Well that is pretty cool as a chip outside the QC certified inspection made it in the roll. Makes me wonder which one is missing. I have some experience as QC for the power industry and industrial manufacturing. Im thinking the roll fell short one chip so another was added from a box of assorted chips by QC ( picked up off floor, machine jams etc). Then the roll is labeled ( assorted in red) and the chip outside the run is placed on the end for visual verification.

Also wonder why Japan doesn't remove the " made in china" label on the container. That may be because of an agreement with purchase.  No matter being an oddity I would think higher value for a roll Smiley

340  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Real pirate treasure - Gold Doubloons from the 1500's on: March 21, 2018, 02:49:39 PM
those are just plain sexy

I saw some silver ones when I was growing up in Florida, they were found at the beach near Saint Augustine

The gold coins were called Escudos (or doubloons in slang), the silver ones were called Reales.  Main advantage of gold is that sea water does not corrode them unlike the silver reales which are heavily corroded when recovered from ship wrecks.

1 Escudo used to be worth 16 Reales.

cool stuff, yep the silver ones had to have a crust removed from them, saw a few more for sale in a Dive shop display case when I was a kid pretty sure those were gold. They inspired me to look for treasure at a young age.  When I was a little older ( 13/14) I made a metal detector from Radio Shack parts lol... I never did find much on the beach's ( a small silver ring) but it was a lot of fun back then just to look and check out Bikini's.

Bought a nice Garrett GTI detector back in 2006 tried to get my kids interested in treasure hunting.... nope lol ... they did like Archery though Smiley
