[reminder]

Beware of change addresses in your BTC wallet AND in your byteball wallet for the next distribution round!

Byteball distribution companion helps you.

          Is you address properly linked?
Is your linked BTC balance what you expected?
Are all your bytes on your byteball linked address?
          How much will you receive?

+Bookmark. Once distribution has started you can follow in near real time when bytes arrive in your wallet. Enjoy!

How can I check which BTC addresses I've linked to claim my byteball?

what ^ bones said or:

http://transition.byteball.org/

you don't actually have to put the whole address in there, after typing the first 4-5 letters you should be left with a short list.

What ^ bones & sinner said or:

No, you do not need to reverify. You can always check using chatbot (by sending "hi") how much is linked and estimation of recieved coins.

thanks for the info.

However, I do see a discrepancy in amounts linked to my BTC address.  I've actually added more BTC to a few of my addresses, but it's not showing up when checking by using "hi."  Are these addresses rechecked by byteball prior to actual distribution to get correct amount of BTC?

Directly from the Transition Bot, when I linked a new BTC change address just now:
Quote
For the bytes you hold on August 7 you receive 0.2 new byte for each 1 byte of your balance, even if your bytes are not on linked Byteball addresses.

You also receive 0.42222 blackbytes for each 1 byte of your balance on the linked Byteball address, which currently is:
So, you get 0.2 byte per 1 byte... even if that address isn't linked... however, the 0.42222 blackbytes are ONLY for linked ByteBall addresses.

Beware of change addresses in your BTC wallet AND in your byteball wallet for the next distribution round!

Has anywhere been posted the risks and weaknesses of DAG? Sorry, I haven't searched enough.

Same Problem. Just found the Information that the Byteball developer want to get 12 people which are watching the dag for Problems. Atm he does it alone. For me it says its unsecure :x

other question: no miners, but still transaction fees... where the fees going? and why IOTA dont need em?

Not alone. You can subscribe to https://byteball-cashback-witness.com/

Fees go to witnesses and parents unit. I am more suspectfull about a network with no fee...

@  Come-from-Beyond

the red ball showed  on the Byteball explorer  is your masterpiece

you want to attack and  destroy the Byteball network

but you failed

welcome more attacking

to help build a stronger Byteball network

If I wanted to destroy the network I wouldn't stop the "attack" to give time to fix the revealed issue. Thank you for welcoming more attacking, I'm going to repeat the previous testing scenario to see if the fix was 100% efficient. You are right, this will help to build a stronger Byteball network.

Your help to make Byteball's network stronger is highly appreciated!

Yeah, good work cfb!

Hello, Guys.
I need to know the best way to increase my balance.
Do I have to install on multi PC and Mobile and create multi address and sign them with multi Bitcoin address?
Or it's enough to create a multi wallet in and pair with others devices?
The best way is to link more btc balance to your byteball address and hold the existing byteball
for the compound interest.

Thank you for your response.
If you please can guide me how to do this with simple steps? sorry, I'm new to Byteball and I need someone who is advanced point me for best practices.

look at https://byteball.fr/BBdistribution.php (some tutos at the end of the page)

@ByteFan, many thanks for your help
I need your advice, I have installed Byteball Wallet on many devices .
Is the best to make every device with isolated wallet and address to increase my balance in next round?
Or from the master device create MultiDevice Wallet with Multi-Sig?

You balance next round will be increased to the proportion of your linked BTC balance at the time of the BTC snapshot (and only that very moment). It is enough to link a single Byteball address.

I am trying to start headless-byteball on a Ubuntu server 16.04. Installed node and npm from apt-get, cloned headless repo and core into home directory and headless directory, but still getting error shown above. Am I missing something stupid?

Maybe.
In you application root directory do you have /byteballcore/constants.js ?

I definitely have it in there, you can see in the terminal output below:

I have to run "nodejs" not just "node" using this ubuntu server. That's the same thing, right? Seems like yes ( https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18130164/nodejs-vs-node-on-ubuntu-12-04 ), just checking tho...

Actually just tried to run "npm install" again and it's not finishing cleanly it seems:
Code:
root@monerobux:~/headless-byteball# npm install
loadDep:json-rpc2 -> reso \ |###############-----------------------------------------------------------|
WARN engine json-rpc2@1.0.2: wanted: {"node":"0.10.x || 0.12.x"} (current: {"node":"4.2.6","npm":"3.5.2"}npm WARN deprecated es5class@2.3.1: this package isn't maintained anymore because ES6+
extract:mkdirp -> gunzTar / |###########################################################---------------|
Killed

Is that because I'm using too new node/npm version possibly?
Have you check also it is not a problem with file permissions ?

I have everything run fine on ubuntu with node-v5.12.0:
wget https://nodejs.org/dist/v5.12.0/node-v5.12.0.tar.gz
sudo apt-get install python
sudo apt-get install build-essential
cd node-v5.12.0
./configure
make
sudo make install

I linked a new byteball address with a new btc address for the next airdrop round. The chatbot told the correct btc balance but when I check the linked byteball address from the "Byteball distribution companion" it says that my btc balance is 0. Any idea what went wrong?

Also, if I just say "hi" to the chatbot, the bot tells me the right amount of btcs. Should I trust the bot or the "Byteball distribution companion"?

The distribution companion and the transition bot say the same to me.

One thing at a time, let's sort out this one first:

You lost already

Remind me the conditions of the bet, please. Just to be sure that I indeed lost.
Coward.

I asked your the conditions of that bet, you failed to remind the conditions (because there was no the bet) and decided to distract my attention by offering another bet, after I insisted to sort our the previous issue first you called me "coward"... Well, it's just one of many cases where you lie and then try to save your face. I see that, others see that, do you see that too?

can you guys seriously take it to your own thread? this is about byteball not your personal feud. im going to report posts on this in the future in an attempt to keep the thread cleaner. its about byteball not some argument and bet you both have. i encourage others to report their posts like this as off topic as well because thats what they are

Let them do, it pushes the thread up on BTCtalk

how about since next round  we have 30% to byteball holder?

it's more fair to byteball holder, seems a lot exchange address have linked with byteball..

that free byteball will drive the price went down. Smiley

Check the Original post of this thread for next ditribution rules.

Can anybody tell me how much are the transaction costs in Byteball and Blackbytes and where I can see these?

Around 500 bytes per transaction.

Thx, also 500 Bytes for Blackbyte transactions? So I need GBYTE when I want to transfer Blackbytes?

Yes, you need between 500 and 1500 Bytes for a Blackbyte tx. Could be a little more if you do an exchange with a smart contract with a trading partner.

This is not quite true. Transaction cost equals to payload size. A size of my last blackbyte transaction was ~11000 bytes.

True. 500 bytes is the minimum fee. The fee is proportional to the paylod. For a simple fund transfer it remains quite low (would notbe the same if you post a 8K movie to the DAG).

Is one of the acts of screwing something up changing my hub to west.byteball.us/bb? I did this days before the full moon but after I linked most of my BTC addresses, I believe.

You have to talk again to the transition bot if you moved to a hub other than the one you where on when you linked.

I said hi several times. However, I now notice my transition bot's hub is byteball.org/bb, but my global is west.byteball.us/bb. I did get my bytes already though. Just waiting for BB.
BB distribution is different. BB are sent to the hub the bot has seen you the last time to your attention. That's why you have to say "hi" to the bot if you moved to a new home hub since the last distribution.

I'm confused by which hub it would have seen me on. My global is set to west.byteball.us/bb, but the bot is set to byteball.org/bb. Do I need to switch my global back to byteball.org/bb to get my BB?
No necessarily. The first question is: what was your hub when you linked ? west.byteball.us/bb ?

Probably byteball.org/bb. However, I must have communicated with the transition bot several times after I changed to west.byteball.us/bb. I even linked an additional address after switching my global hub.

So the problem may not be there... Wait for Tonych announce for distribution round official end then contact him if you did not receive your BB.
