Just relax people, the rest of the distribution is for bytes holders, not much for BTC holders.
BTC holders stay in the game, the distribution for byte holders has doubled indeed (quote from byteball.org): "In the 6th round, which is scheduled for the full moon of June (June 9, 2017 at 13:10 UTC), we'll distribute 62.5 MB for each 1 BTC of linked balance and 0.2 new byte for each 1 byte you already hold" |

Do I have to check basically any/all addresses from my wallet to see if i have balance?
Yes (as we can not know the addresses on a per-wallet basis) right ofc anonymity  3 of my addresses I found have balances. and ofc everytime we do an outgoing transaction, a new address is generated... lol that could end up being a lot to go through. there's really no simpler way to do this? Maybe create a bot that can check against the addresses in our wallet against your witness? Good idea. We have to improve that point in the future. |

What advantage has DAG over blockchain? No scaling issue is the main advantage Unfortunately Byteball has the same scaling issue as any dynamically adjusted blockchain - storage and bandwith constraints. Moreover - at the current state when you start a full byteball client from scratch you are actually seing limitations of processing transactions by the byteball network - the rate at which your full node is updating the DAG database is the rate at which the network can handle transactions - and it is currently only about 20 tps. True. I read somewhere Tonych said there is room for optimization there. |

I am. But you dont' have to trust me anyway. The only thing you have to trust is that 6 witnesses (that is to say a majority of the 12) does not collude together. There is no risk using our witness. what the fuck. The whole point of witness is that you have to be trusted. Yes you can wreck havoc as a witness, especially attempting to be first, you set a precedent. You can attempt double spends on your own. The risk is huge for Byteball if anyone uses your witness, after what you have shown and said so far. Actually, ByteFan is right. All we need to care is that the majority of witnesses don't collude. All 12 witnesses belonging to one person (event if it is tonych) is a bigger threat to the network than 12 witnesses belonging to 12 random guys. I, for one, do not for a second doubt that ByteFan would be the first to collude with other witnesses, or make more of them behind different personas, given a chance. Wahou I am the daemon among the 12 apostles. God, the bible, the 12 apostles and now the daemon. Everything makes sens sudently. |

I think to piggy back onto what you are saying, until there is further adoption, there cannot be true diversity. If theoretically only the members of this thread were using ByteBalls then there has to be some level of overlap within the group. Unless of course every person on here was a poweruser and each person wanted to be a witness and etc. One could imagine a system where all wallets would be potential witnesses such forming a permanent "pool of anonymous witnesses" and each wallet posting a units would pick 12 (or more) among the pool at random but it is not Byteball anymore...would be a fork. |
