3221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 15, 2023, 07:09:22 PM
Feeling like the slow crawl upward is resuming as we move beyond $27K. The latest round of government coin selling must be over as well as lessening panic that Ordinals were going to destroy Bitcoin or that it would be replaced with Pepe coin. I think we’re likely to see a run up back to $30K depending on when the next government sale or round of mtgox news drops.

It’s all just chance right? I suspect that whatever game you’ve won big on would be your favorite. I guess each has it’s own style and sounds… So maybe that’s what sets them apart as what you’re paying for is that dopamine rush when you win, so whatever tickles your fancy may be what you play the most and as such have had the best experiences with.
3223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 15, 2023, 07:02:59 PM
Tatum with the highest scoring game 7 performance was something to witness. I think they’ll be able to take Miami and win the East.

I also saw the Suns got rid of their coach. I think it was him or Ayton at this point…

Looking forward to some more playoff basketball tomorrow after a night off tonight. Hopefully the Lakers can beat Denver and repeat what happened in the bubble.
3224  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is destiny a fixed destination? on: May 14, 2023, 04:45:16 PM
They say that time isn’t linear, which would mean that everything that will happen has already happened. However, there are also those who believe in alternate realities where everything that can happen does happen. Recently I spoke with someone about this subject who was talking about choosing your own reality. He thought your decisions don’t make your destiny, but rather transfer you into the universe of your outcome. It was an interesting conversation.

Almost time for game 7 between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. Will Embiid finally get a chance to play for the chip or will Tatum make another run at it? Looks like the Celtics are favored to win at home so Harden and Embiid had better bring their A game. I’m not betting this one but I will be watching it in just a couple more hours.

Just a few hours and we will witness the Eastern Conference Semifinals - Game 7 between the Boston Celtics vs the Philadelphia 76ers! Which team do you think will step up their game?

Breaking News: Ja Morant is now trending on Twitter again because he was seen flexing a gun on his Instragram Live.

Ja Morant is trying to be a rapper rather than a NBA player. Shannon Sharpe was right in his claim that Ja was "hustling backwards."
Oh crap, not again. Let's wait for the confirmation if it's a real gun or not.

But assuming it is. The question of "Why?" will come out.
Why does he always bring a gun? Is America not that safe anymore? Are they back to being the Wild Wild West? Is he on drugs or did some screws come out? A lot of money is at stake in his name and he will be wasting it if ever the NBA decides to cut him from being a player due to this problem.
I want to hear what Jalen Rose will say about this. His last statement for Ja Morant and his father was an eye-opener not just for them but for all the players who are in the same state as him. But this is strike two and he should've learned his lesson from strike one. Also, his strike one is not like a flagrant foul in NBA but more of painting black on his image that is being idolized by kids.

We will see where this will go.

Well seems like Ja didn't learn from his suspension. Maybe he enjoyed the time off from basketball.

Wouldn't surprise if this time it will be a real suspension.
What are these people thinking anyway. Pretending to be a gangster even though he grew up in a normal family at a normal school and everything. Why does he want to be something he is not. He has everything anybody can wish for but still causes problems like this.

The Grizzlies will be the villain for years to come I guess.  Grin

The Grizzlies just suspended him again for the video. What an idiot. Ja won’t be happy until he loses all his endorsements and gets murdered by someone who isn’t larping as a gangsta. It’s so weird how they can’t get this suburban private school kid to stop acting like he’s Nino Brown. This next generation is so weird. They do it all for the gram.
3227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: May 14, 2023, 03:38:57 AM
It seems to me like this recent decrease is price has stabilized above $26K. I don’t want to give the all clear or anything but it seems like now might not be a bad time to be buying again after the market scare caused by Ordinals clogging up the mempool. I think watching the Silk Road coins hit the market from the us gov might not be a bad idea if you’re timing your buys also.
3228  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 10x 1BTC 2013 gilt silver Casascius coins, redeemed on: May 13, 2023, 06:40:24 PM
Very cool that you still have these. Is there a story behind them that you’d like to tell? For example, were you the one who redeemed these? If so, did you redeem them recently or was it a long time ago? Do you have anything about the experience of owning or peeling them that you would like to share with other owners?
3229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 13, 2023, 02:59:09 PM
I would agree with others that Denver is the favorite right now. Their team is pretty healthy and they’re playing great. Los Angeles is going to have to step it up to beat them. I think Los Angeles has a chance to beat them, but I think it will be obvious after game 1 on Tuesday if they’ll be able to pull it off or not.

A day of rest today… Get those chores done.
3230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 13, 2023, 04:35:52 AM
The Lakers just had everything going for themselves tonight. LeBron James had an extremely efficient night and Klay Thompson couldn’t make a shot. Austin Reaves had a great game as well. I thought it might go this way since the Warriors are bad on the road and this was the best chance the Lakers would get to put them away. With 5 minutes left they need to take out LeBron and AD now.
3231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs last forever? on: May 13, 2023, 01:08:57 AM
There are some public storage options for NFT creators but you’re right that they aren’t stored on the blockchain, only the link to the image is stored. So when you buy an NFT, you aren’t buying an image, you are buying a token with a url. People can even release tokens with the same url, effectively creating a duplicate of the NFT. Make sure you know what you’re buying and that it comes from the original creator.

The more I play with these various AI offerings the more I think it isn’t quite as amazing as advertised yet. You can see that it has gotten to the point where it is becoming useful, but much like self driving, I wouldn’t take my hands off the wheel just yet. Fairly certain any current implementation of AI being used to gamble would wind up with some unintended outcomes.
3233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 12, 2023, 11:42:44 PM
^ There is no chance that Anthony Davis and LeBron James don’t play. The Warriors are also terrible on the road. I think the Lakers end it tonight and advance to the next round. If they fail to capitalize on tonight and give the Warriors a game 7, I think it will be very bad for LA fans. Tonight we’ll see everything that both teams have and I’m excited for it, but I think the Lakers will win.
3234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I be profitable in the NBA PLAYOFFS? ===>check inside on: May 12, 2023, 10:59:25 PM
I love threads like this, so subscribing.
It would be nice if you could see general statistics in one post (for example, the first one) after there will be a lot of bets (or there will be many pages in the topic) it will be quite inconvenient to follow the current state of affairs.

I too would love to see the original post updated to reflect all the bets and the current bankroll amount. Having to read through each post hoping to find the next bet is exhausting.

Great thread though and props to you for being willing to document your gambling experience publicly knowing that the odds are against you. As others have said, Good Luck to you!
3235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Ordinals craze cause a UAHF soon? on: May 12, 2023, 10:54:28 PM
I don’t think a hard fork will happen as a result of Ordinals. I think it would show bias towards projects that would be hard to defend going forward without also disabling the Lightning network. It’s a major problem in my opinion if the developers are able to censor transactions for any project they don’t deem as important as their own.
3236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 12, 2023, 10:52:20 PM
It seemed like the recent sale of Bitcoin by the US government was timed to do maximum damage to the market price. I think that leaves a bit of a buying opportunity here. I think once we reach the summer of 2024, the market sentiment is going to flip from bearish to bullish in a major way and I think it will be reflected in the price in 2025.
3237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 12, 2023, 10:49:12 PM
They’re saying Chris Paul is done in Phoenix. Vegas currently has the odds on Chris Paul being with the Lakers next season. This wouldn’t surprise me at all as LeBron has always wanted to play with Chris Paul. I’m not sure having an injury prone Chris Paul on the roster with Anthony Davis will be great for the postseason. They’ll probably talk about it during tonight’s game.
3238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 12, 2023, 02:55:41 PM
I was really looking forward to seeing a matchup of Durant and LeBron in the playoffs but that won’t be happening now as the Suns are done for the year. That team is too dysfunctional to win I think. At least we get to see LeBron play tonight though as they try to put an end to the Warriors dynasty. The Heat also have a chance to advance tonight over the Knicks.
3239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 12, 2023, 04:39:46 AM
This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.

Anything else anyone can think of? Like... read this post before gambling? Tongue

I think people know right from wrong enough to know when they’re doing bad behavior. I believe it is greed that pushes people to bet amounts they know they shouldn’t and extend losing streaks. If you know you’re the kind of person that does this sort of behavior, be conscious of it and don’t put lots of money in places where you’re able to easily gamble it.
3240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 12, 2023, 04:20:57 AM
Suns, lol.

What is this? 51:81 at halftime, seriously?

This looks like an exact replica of last season's conference semi finals vs the Mavericks. In that game they were also down 30 at halftime, at home.

In a do or die game you cannot perform like this and not play any defense.
Well, I am glad they are out, being the favourite to win the chip after the KD deal.  Grin

Denver deserves to advance 100% and if they keep this up they can go to the finals. Against the Lakers they are 2:2 this season, both teams winning their home games. Against the Warriors they are 3:0. Seems like this season can be the one for the Joker and the Nuggets.

Phoenix is mentally broken already in this game and it's obvious that they are giving up already, even with KD, with no Chris Paul and then Ayton having a rib concussion, there's now way they can offset Jokic performance in this series.

So it's either Lakers or Warriors for them. I think it will be interesting series whoever the Nuggets are going to face, Lakers have AD if remains healthy against Jokic, or then Jokic seeing the night mare again of Draymond guarding him at the post.

You could see the Suns give up half way through the second quarter. I think Ayton being out mentally messed them up before the game even started. This has been one of the harder games to watch in recent memory. The Suns were hard fouling and talking trash… I feel like they’re poor sports when things don’t go their way.
