3221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 19, 2023, 09:44:37 PM
Celtics are pretty heavy favorites at home against the Heat considering they lost the last game. Seems like maybe people are expecting a little much from the Celtics or maybe just underestimating what the Heat have been able to accomplish this postseason. Should be a good game. If the Celtics lose this it’ll be extremely hard to recover in Miami.
3222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 19, 2023, 01:58:08 PM

Yeah, I was even thinking of betting on the Lakers that time, but luckily I didn't pull the trigger. And it takes Murray in the 4th quarter to make a run against the Lakers and its enough to get them this big win and move 2-0.
So it's really hard for the Lakers to stop Jokic and  Murray, these two are doing the damage, so they will have to find a solution to either stop anyone of them in this series, otherwise it might be over in 5 games, in my opinion.

Dwight Howard is laughing hard at Taiwan watching the Lakers struggling to just even get a single win against the Nuggets where when he is still in the Lakers, this is not possible and now that the Lakers are trailing this much, I don't think they can win in this series anymore. too bad for them because this time Murray is playing and they don't have Howard anymore. such as the games anyway, they missed calculating and underestimated the Nuggets and here is the result, they're the one who is having a hard time just to get that single win.

It is funny that Dwight is poking fun at the Lakers. Rightfully so. He was a main piece in their last championship team and they let him go for nothing. They could definitely have used him since then.

Tonight the Celtics try to avoid falling 0-2 to the Heat. I think they’ll succeed but it seems to depend on if Tatum does well or not.

Cool that you’re willing to provide this for people.  I could see it being useful on the forum as well as for people’s own personal use. Just loading the image in your browser could be a quick way to see the current fees if you for some reason wanted to monitor them. With the current fee market being all over the place I could see this being handy.

3224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: May 19, 2023, 03:36:14 AM
I think people are expecting a massive increase in price too soon. You have to remember that the market is not only absorbing the block reward but also the US gov coins being auctioned as well as the future mtgox coins hitting the market. Any large price increase is likely to come after the US gov is done with their auctions, the mtgox coins hit the market, and the block reward gets cut in half.
3225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 19, 2023, 03:21:39 AM
Murray got hot in that fourth quarter and carried the Nuggets to a win. The Lakers just ran out of gas out there. They were all exhausted. Mostly LeBron though. The last 4 minutes he was walking up the floor and the last one down both ways each time. I would’ve called a timeout or sat him for a rest but instead they let him miss layups and do nothing on defense.
3226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 19, 2023, 01:51:55 AM
At the end of the first half the Lakers have themselves a small lead. Other than LeBron’s dunk attempt going wrong on a fast break they’ve looked pretty good. You can see they’re hustling and putting a lot of energy into this one. The Nuggets are being outhustled out there and it shows. It remains to be seen if the Lakers will be able to keep up this effort in the second half.
3227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Alert! Brokerstorm scam my money on: May 18, 2023, 09:01:18 PM
I’ve never heard of Brokerstorm but it seems as though it is not a gambling house from the responses. Anyway, OP it would be nice if you have some sort of information. Right now people would have to do research just to figure out what the heck you’re talking about. Message received though. Don’t use Brokerstorm for whatever it is they do.
3228  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: May 18, 2023, 08:58:13 PM
FTX is now suing Sam Bankman-Fried. I guess their plan is to try and recover some funds from the guy who was clearly stealing from everyone. Not sure how successful they will be as he’s already had access to the internet has and surely stashed his I’ll gotten funds, but maybe he’s lying and has a few hundred million dollars sitting around in traditional assets they can steal.
3229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could hit $100,000 by the end of 2024 - Standard Chartered - Surprised? on: May 18, 2023, 02:10:26 PM
The biggest surprise to me about everyone calling for a $100K Bitcoin next year is what they must be predicting for 2025. If we do see a $100L BTC in 2024, I would think the bubble coming in 2025 would have to be close to a million. While I might have believed that 5 years ago, the FTX madness in 2021 likely redirected Bitcoin’s trajectory lower in the future (as in not into the millions so soon).
3230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 18, 2023, 02:07:45 PM
I threw a small bet on the Lakers to win tonight. I think the Nuggets are probably the better team but the experience of the Lakers should be enough to get them one game in Denver. They got destroyed early in the last game so I think they’re going to come with more effort tonight. Plus, the odds were too good to pass up. So go Lakers!
3231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 18, 2023, 06:38:50 AM
WOW, what a 3rd quarter by the heat.

Boston had a game plan in the 1st half but it all came crashing down right after halftime!

Jimmy with yet another high scoring game and the over all field goal % of Miami was impressing. 16/31 from 3 !!
Boston also with good numbers and I don't really see a player with bad splits, still they managed to lose.

Guess the 3% chance of winning this series for Miami has no risen dramatically since they stole home court advantage.
Boston will surely bounce back in game 2, just as they did against Philly putting up a show.

But it's nice to see there will be a fight!

Jimmy was great. He’s really something else in the playoffs. The thing that stood out to me as ha I g the biggest impact was his 6 steals. He was also extremely efficient from three point range which is a bit out of character. Kyle Lowry also had an amazing game and Kevin Love pitched in a little to help as well. It’ll be tough for them to keep up this level of play.
3232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Confusion about sweepstakes and gambling on: May 17, 2023, 09:10:06 PM
I don’t believe that in the US, sweepstakes are considered gambling. This is because the accepted definition of sweepstakes includes that entries can be made without a purchase. If there is no purchase or nothing at stake, how can it be gambling? My understanding is that gambling requires a wager while sweepstakes does not.

You probably saw the Ja Morant apology going around. The funny part you might not have seen is how fans found that the apology was written by ChatGPT. Ja Morant literally had AI write his apology for him so that he wouldn’t be bothered with it. Hilarious. I guess someone in his PR team is probably the responsible party, but it is no less hilarious what these kids are doing nowadays.
3234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: May 17, 2023, 08:06:01 PM
While the word “rich” may be subjective, I think given enough time anyone could get “rich” by investing. All you have to do is follow what Warren Buffett says to do. Invest in an index fund and continue to do so for a long period of time. The longer you do so the more rich you will become. Common “market” index funds to invest in are SPY & VTI. It’s really that simple.
3235  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: May 17, 2023, 07:16:31 PM
The latest video release of Tesla’s robot progress showed some scary footage of their robots flanked by a few Cybertrucks. It looks like something out of that Will Smith robot movie. Image posted below.

I will admit it’s great to see more evidence of Cybertruck production being done.
3236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 17, 2023, 07:06:50 PM
soon possible for all Ledger owners... Angry Angry🤡

Bitcoiners will run from stuff like this but I’m certain there are people out there who will utilize these types of options to buy BTC since they weren’t comfortable having to be responsible for their own funds.

In other news… Markets including Bitcoin seemed to cheer on the news that Joe Biden says the US will be able to continue taking on more debt.
3237  Other / Meta / Re: Poll on solving the imgur issue on: May 17, 2023, 06:56:15 PM
As someone who has a lot of images hosted on Imgur showing various products and historical information, I think it would be nice if I didn’t have to download software on my machine and spend time reviewing code in order to get my images preserved. I would much prefer the forum fix this issue either by migrating all images to a new service, hosting them, or allowing historical images to remain.
3238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving effects, how long they will last? on: May 17, 2023, 03:07:33 PM
Every 4 years, we expect bull market just because of halving. What do you think when is this chain is going to broken? Ie, halving no longer equals that bull market is coming.

You know for your information, only time will tell when it will happen to break. Because no one knows what you will ask for the future. But even so, the split will remain a significant part of Bitcoin's life cycle. And it will definitely have a big impact on the price of bitcoin in the coming future in my opinion. But it's possible that the split won't be enough to trigger the upcoming bull market.

There is no one who can tell what will exactly happen every halving.
But we can only speculate on this matter. Even long timers and so-called experts can't give you a guarantee on what's to come.
There may be positive movements before or after halving, but we can't say for sure if that will happen in every halving.
Because the technology is evolving fast and we don't know how long this technology will last.
Who knows in the near future, bitcoin will be obsolete, what can we do if that scenario will happen?

Agree with you that the future is unpredictable, bitcoin may continue to repeat history or never will. But as bitcoin investors, we should be optimistic and believe in it because if it continues to rise, we will benefit greatly, so don't be pessimistic. But investing means risking your money, we should also have a plan for the worst case scenario. What I mean is that we need to be optimistic and realistic, not too delusional and not too pessimistic.
We dont really have that crystal ball to know on what the future would look like.It might happened in the past but doesnt mean that it would happen in the future which we know that everything is really that unpredictable. We've seen halving event did make out some trigger with those golden bull runs that we do have into those specific years on which it is really just that normal that people would be presuming out
on this way. This is why if you do have this kind of insights about its potential price in the future then accumulation would really be entirely be depending on you. Its our money then its our full rights on what
we should gonna do with our money and we know that in every investment there's always an accompanied risks which is something that very normal to have.
Whether there's some halving effect or not but at least we've done our risk taking on investing into something which we know that it does have potential.

Honestly, I think things will change, the game is getting too predictable, and if it doesn't change, everyone will get rich, and who will spend the big bucks buying bitcoins when we sell it for 100 thousand dollars? This is a financial market, not a charity, which means there will always be sellers and buyers, and there will always be winners and losers. So when everyone expects $100k worth of bitcoin to be sold, who will be the buyer? Market changes are inevitable.

I get your point and it is a good one, but I think it’s an opinion of someone who is too close to the game. Most people think Bitcoin is a scam that is going to crash and burn someday. The majority hasn’t bought in. For us, the 4-year cycle seems obvious and too easy to exploit, but the majority of people do not understand the market and how things like halvings affect it. Just do yourself a favor and put some money on your belief. Don’t let others discourage you from what you can clearly see.
3239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is ageing and old people part of bitcoin? on: May 17, 2023, 03:05:09 PM
I think that the nature of crypto is going to leave a lot of coins lost forever when people die suddenly, or even from old age. Most people don’t document all their assets and myself personally if I were to die I’m certain not all the digital assets I have would be discovered. This leads me to believe that over time Bitcoin will become much more scarce than some might imagine. I’d give examples like Mircea Popescu.
3240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Leak Reveals Secret Democratic Plan For A Game-Changing U.S. Crypto Crackdown on: May 17, 2023, 03:02:47 PM
I would agree with others stating the government is trying to suppress the price of Bitcoin and discourage adoption. Coinbase is currently fighting this fight for us to get clarity. The good news is that even with them timing their sales to create maximum damage and sabotaging the market every way they can… We are still here. For me that is a bullish sign.
