2241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock wants to reduce the price of Bitcoin on: August 27, 2023, 07:03:11 PM
I don’t know if I’d blame Blackrock solely for this recent drop in price. It makes sense that big players would want the price to drop though. Knowing that a ton of BTC from mtgox will be sold at any price as soon as customers get their hands on it, the logical thing is to get the price as low as possible to advantage of that coming scenario.
2242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Nvidia's Result bring a positive impact on Bitcoin? on: August 26, 2023, 07:00:38 PM
Nvidia and AMD stocks used to have some correlation with bitcoin and crypto because when mining was very profitable, every went out and bought GPUs and their share prices went up.

There is also some correlation when Nvidia goes up, usually does the nasdaq index and sometimes crypto follows that trend.

However AI has nothing to do with crypto and it’s not correlated in anyway. The moves were the same probably due to a coincidence.

I’m sure the mining effect has a positive influence on their sales and ability to sell out their product stock. However, I would agree that the current boom for Nvidia isn’t related to Bitcoin mining and is instead the result of overanxious investors piling into the next big thing at any price in order to get a piece of the action.

People are just crazy. They’ll swear to anything if it fits with their beliefs. Most liberals probably think Mars is cooler than the Earth because there isn’t any pollution on Mars. It really isn’t brain surgery. The farther from the giant flaming ball we’re circling in space you get, the cooler the temperature. That’s the main factor.
2244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How was your first Bitcoin experience? on: August 26, 2023, 06:55:05 PM
My first experience with mining was a good one. I used to love firing up different software and making different adjustments to get you the most possible hashrate. Little things you did on your own made a big difference back then. It was cool. My first transaction experience was great as well. I sold a video game code that came with my GPU for a couple BTC and everything went smooth as silk.
2245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: August 26, 2023, 06:52:35 PM
Thinking back on my first gambling experience, I would assume that it would be sports related. As a kid making bets (not for money) over sporting events was pretty common. My buddy and I used to bet who was going to hit a home run first, Will Clark or Kevin Mitchell, when watching Giants games. At stake was usually who got to play the first video game.
2246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: August 26, 2023, 06:50:11 PM
I’ve been looking into building my own AI cluster as I have plenty of GPUs and CPUs sitting idle currently. Does anyone have any resources on AI or suggestions on the best place to go to get help in building such a thing? There are so many articles and sites out now that I’m not sure what the trusted go to is for this material yet.

What do you think about the Warriors signing Blake Griffin to a 1 year deal at the minimum to make a CP3 lob city reunion? I think it’s a great idea from a business perspective and I also think it’s a great use for your final roster spot. CP3 and Griffin definitely have a chemistry that makes them more dangerous when paired together.

2248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 25, 2023, 09:07:23 PM

I actually sold a line of silver coins that were engraved with Mythical Creatures and private keys to store BTC. They weren’t too different from these coins. I’ll post the link for you if you wanted to check them out (although I don’t think bitcointalk has fixed their image issues yet). I don’t make stuff like this anymore because it was a lot of work, but they’re still out there in the wild somewhere.

2249  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: August 25, 2023, 08:31:02 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites?
No, it's not normal and not acceptable.
Any reputable casino or any other service provider must inform its users about any updates in their terms of service. They must also mention when the last time their terms were updated. Besides new terms and rules should not have a retroactive effect. Any company that doesn't do this does not respect its customers and it should be avoided at all costs.

They should notify you, but I’m sure they probably do. Some sites have newsletters they email out that you can opt out of. I think they probably don’t want to bother you every time they update their terms. I assume most of the time they’re doing it because they have to legally, not because they’re trying to target their own users.
2250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we need to start asking people if...... on: August 25, 2023, 08:29:08 PM
Cool story… I used to ask people and give them the talk when they inquired about it. Most normal people think you’re trying to scam them or rope them into a Ponzi scheme. I understand it. You really need to jump down the rabbit hole on your own. You can’t force people to want to care about Bitcoin. A higher percentage of people than you probably think don’t want to care or concern themselves with the state of the dollar or the government.
2251  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NASA admits climate change occurs because of changes in Earth's solar orbit... on: August 25, 2023, 08:23:00 PM
I can’t believe that the idea our temperature is determined by how far we are from the sun is considered controversial today.

Is anybody going to talk about the eco-friendly straws people in certain places were forced to use being toxic? Are we really going to continue to let governments poison their citizenry in the name of climate change?
2252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 25, 2023, 08:18:19 PM

I’m not the only one thinking it. Giannis would make such a deadly combination with Steph that I think they almost owe it to us to make it happen. If Klay decides to stick around in Golden State I don’t think his age will be a big issue. His game isn’t based on athleticism. His defense might struggle but that jump shot isn’t going anywhere.

But it will take a toll from the Warriors to acquire Giannis and if that trade happens today,  I think it might take Klay + Andrew Wiggins or maybe a Kuminga then future picks.

And Steph is not getting any younger and could be injury prone in the next 2-3 years. But who knows what might happen, there are a lot of unexpected trade that has happened in the past and for sure it will continue in the future. Kevin Durant to GSW, no one was expecting it, until the deal is made and they made a couple of championships along the way.

I don’t think you can trade for a player like Giannis. You have to let his contract run out and sign him. As is, they’ll have to get rid of Draymond and probably trade Wiggins to make room salary wise and still be able to build a team, but if you have the chance to pair Steph and Giannis you do it and worry about the details later. I think this is a very real possibility for the 2025 season.
2253  Other / Meta / Re: We can not discuss if 'ChipMixer is a honeypot or not' outside their own thread? on: August 25, 2023, 08:02:03 PM
In the case of Mixers, there can't be a "White line", If the mixers do that, then it won't be decentralized, and people won't use them obviously for privacy reasons, I can't think of any solutions for it.

It isn’t decentralized now. That’s my whole point and what those bashing me by saying I’m not making sense don’t seem to understand because they’re blinded by their own greed. If Bitcoin’s privacy depends on centralized run services that result in their founders being jailed, it has failed in providing privacy. The answer is doing it at the protocol level, which must be done after Bitcoin has already been accepted into the existing financial system like a Trojan horse.

People willing to put a target on Bitcoin, this forum, and their own backs by promoting centralized money laundering services for money aren’t doing some great thing for privacy. Them using everything in their power to silence and discredit those that point this out is a whole other issue. One that a strong leader would address.
2254  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump be indicted ? on: August 25, 2023, 05:32:46 PM
Trump posting his mugshot as his first post on twitter (X) in years is absolutely genius. He only has about 650K likes after 4 hours. While it won’t be the most liked twitter post, it’s going to end up being up there. This is an absolute mockery of the justice system. If this doesn’t wake people up we’re doomed.

https://x.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1694886846050771321

Do you think any former president that just lost re-election should be able to try and overturn the election by lying to government officials, intimidating election workers, asking government officials to commit election fraud by "finding him" more votes, or organizing an election fraud scheme to submit fake electoral vote documents through the official government channels?

And then there's the documents....and the shell company to avoid

Or do you just really hate democrats/love Trump so you're going to just right wing outrage lines like "absolute mockery of the justice system" without ever reading any of the actual indictments.

I understand your ignorance. Since you liked Biden so much, there was no reason to get into the details of how is team and his handlers stole the election for him. Completely understandable.

Perhaps you are a big fish in some little pond somewhere. But, the country is pretty big. Maybe it will be your grandchildren who become Chinese slaves, with chop sticks run into their ears so they can't hear the propaganda about how bad they are being harmed by their government.

Of course, if Biden continues, and somebody follows who is like him, it might happen a lot sooner... like directly to you... and all of us.

Cool

Liberals are so brainwashed they can only push their agenda by any means. The fact is that I think Trump as a person is a total douchebag. I wouldn’t want to meet him or have anything to do with him. However, his policies are sound and exactly what America needs. I don’t love Trump and hate Democrats, I love America and hate anyone who wants to destroy it with lies like there are more than 2 genders, or fostering mental illness in children by telling them they’re in the wrong bodies, or continuing to support a proxy war against Russia, or want SpaceX to hire illegal immigrants, or want to lock down our country over a fake virus, or want to raise taxes for an imaginary climate change grift, or want to spend our way into losing reserve currency status, or want to let illegals into our country without going through the proper channels, etc.

I don’t hate liberals, I hate stupidity. Although I can see how the two can be confused.

New York Times is reporting a quote from Giannis Antetokounmpo where he alludes to signing with a new team for the first time ever. Definitely trouble for the Bucks. He’s going to play for them this year, but to me it sounds like he’s preparing them for a departure after the season. If he goes to the Warriors and pairs with Curry, it will be the greatest team ever built.
2258  Other / Meta / Re: We can not discuss if 'ChipMixer is a honeypot or not' outside their own thread? on: August 24, 2023, 06:12:46 PM
How does that justify YOUR behavior?

If I had done something wrong I would have to justify my behaviour.  Aside from vague posturing, you haven't stated exactly what it is I should be justifying.  Yes, I have a signature for a mixer, so what?  I believe privacy is a fundamental right and I will support that right wherever I deem it appropriate to do so.

There's no "story" here.  You pocketed airdrops from coins that did not belong to you.  You're damn lucky theymos didn't particularly care about those assets.  Personally, I'd have had you charged with theft if this were my forum.  So get off your damn high horse and learn to live with the fact that some of us think you're scum.  You brought it upon yourself, so don't cry to us about it.

You are promoting money laundering. If the organization you are promoting does any real volume, they will be closed down and their founders arrested. That is what you’re promoting.

As for your accusations, I did nothing wrong. I can use my private keys however I want and I lived up to my end of the treasury agreement perfectly. The person who didn’t was theymos, who went years without paying me and then didn’t compensate me for the forked coins I missed out on while I gave him the forked coins I didn’t have to according to our agreement, but who cares about reality right?
2259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy BNB now? on: August 24, 2023, 06:09:04 PM
The only reasons to buy BNB now is if you want to help keep Binance from going under, or you want to help stop Bitcoin’s decrease in value by helping Binance keep BNB’s price afloat so they stop dumping (possibly customer owned) Bitcoin on the market. If you’re investing in BTC for profit, the odds are rather high that you will lose all your money, so be aware of the risk you’re taking on.

Sorry it took so long.

Nice video. It’s always funny seeing users from here mentioned in a YouTube video. I can’t say I’m all that interested in the Bitcointalk awards, but I wouldn’t have had any idea who the winners were without watching this, so thank you. I always enjoy your videos and hope to see them more frequently in the future.
