Also if you want a 'fair' launch give a complete and proper mining guide suitable for newbies (ie just not some random config file settings).

I'm no mining expert, i've managed to mine a few solo, but 2/3rds of these alts I fail to get any mining started Sad
3262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hey guys, remember Tenebrix? on: July 17, 2013, 04:00:23 PM
LTC is immune to it and had no premine.

premine instamine its all the same

LTC had no premine or instamine.

Block explorer debunks the premine and it's kinda hard to instamine a cpu only coin, which LTC crtainly was for months after launch.

~BCX~

was it mined purely in the btt and similar crypto community?

3271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alts how about clear complete mining instructions on: July 16, 2013, 01:39:29 AM
Actually to attract people to a coin its best not to bring up mining at all. It just confuses people, and it makes them start into the whole how ome those guys get to print money, and it gets them trying to mine and losing more money on electricity let alone depreciation of equipment than it is worth and so on and so on.

So no, mining is terrible concept for attracting people to a coin. Cool stuff they can buy with it is much better, saving on transaction fees is much better, being able to send money to their relatives back at home is much better and so on.

Plus once they really get screwed up by the whole mining concept they start spawning endless clone coins worth less and less and generally just screwing themselves and everyone else out of whatever value there might once have been in the concept of a massively secured blockchain that all the hashing power in the world that is not hashing that chain isn't enough, all added together, to attack that chain.

don't disgree.

but its kinda twisting the topic from what I was asking

and you really don't have to keep replying just for that sake of it.
3272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alts how about clear complete mining instructions on: July 16, 2013, 01:12:13 AM
Oh well if its a matter of having someone else do work you want done, just go ahead and throw bounties at it.

-MarkM-

I don't need the work done...hell too much trouble and I just bypass and move onto those coins with clear instructions, I am giving people advice on how to attract others to their coin.

If you don't have clear instructions you will build a barrier to those wanting to try.

I guess most want to instamine in this little closed circle....so then keep with the status quo......and let people like me avoid.

3273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Many AltCoins,- How about creating Universal One? on: July 16, 2013, 12:54:44 AM
So many fiat currencies out there....can't we just create a universal one to use globally?   Roll Eyes

thought thats what the US was doing with the USD.....well they're certainly printing enough of them for everyone  Wink
3274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alts how about clear complete mining instructions on: July 16, 2013, 12:50:11 AM
Or of course certainly developers should not be discouraged from taking you up on your offer, which coin would you like to put together "proper" instructions for first? Its your choice after all, pick any, they are open source, you can make your own decision as to which you want to contribute such instructions first...

-MarkM-

dude how dodgy half these are I wouldn't know where to begin

I am certainly no expert miner, hence my frustration, spent many hours mining various coins, only to realise I was not doing some miner thing, and it changes from coin to coin.
3275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Many AltCoins,- How about creating Universal One? on: July 16, 2013, 12:43:58 AM
Has it ever been proposed before?
We have a universal coin, Its called BitCoin

Sure, but topic is not about BTCCoin here.

Imagine people in undeveloped countries? They will never be able to mine BitCoin.
What they do have is some older machines still capable to mine, so they could get some taste of Freedom.
Also, I really like a few ideas of others to create coin where with older machine solo mining is promoted and new people get some incentive just as they start to mine.

Mining isn't the point of bitcoin. Most people who use the dollar will never get to print their own dollars either. That's not exactly a flaw.

yeah but if only an elite circle get to mine then its no better then the fiat elite who print the money? no?
3276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New alts how about clear complete mining instructions on: July 16, 2013, 12:36:59 AM
Here's idea, when you develop new coin and ann it, how about crystal clear compete mining instructions.

Not just copy paste from others adding maybe some random notes on about a conf file. Think in terms even of those who have never mined before, because bringing new people from outside these circles is kinda a good idea.

3277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Many AltCoins,- How about creating Universal One? on: July 16, 2013, 12:25:39 AM
We have a universal coin, Its called Bitcoin
but that attempt failed
Wait... Bitcoin "failed"?

yes., people here consider it a success merely based on its price vs USD.

however as an actual useable currency its a fail.

hell even look at its homepage the benefits listed simply are not true.

As an actual useable currency it is in progress.

actually its getting worse

one of the focus' of satoshi's white paper was that the big banks fee's hinders micro transactions and btc was developed to overcome this Sad
3278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Many AltCoins,- How about creating Universal One? on: July 15, 2013, 11:56:06 PM
Has it ever been proposed before?
let me guess, your going to create it?

The topic of this poll is:

"Universal Community Coin (Open Source, no asics) everyone able to mine."

It also makes me sad that many users on this forum have no idea what open source is.

makes me even sader that people develop a crypto in order to mine Sad
