2361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My god LTC is "getting destroyed" on: April 10, 2014, 11:47:30 AM

Some of us mined more than 500,000+ of below $1.00 and still have them.

$10.00 doesn't look bad to me.

$10.00 looks bad to noobs and amateurs lacking faith, vision and balls.

~BCX~

So you mined 500k ltc and even didn't sell until $48? You sir deserve to lose everything, how greedy can you be.

not everyone's in it for fiat.
I hold a decent stash of ltc (though less then BCX's, which I learnt when we started a game of mines bigger then yours), I've no intention of ever trading out to fiat.

if you mined even 10k and sold when it hit 40$ that would be a life changer, or atleast i know it would for me

AND I HIGHLY DOUBT ANYONE MINDED 500K ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Artforz and bcx were the first miners with gpus on litecoin, both had monster farms back in the day. Artforz and his pals bcx, locust, coblee all had gpu miners a week before anyone else. Some of the dirty little ltc secrets very few know. its in the threads here if you dig around enough. I don't doubt for a second bcx has that many or more. Mining that many when the diff was like 2 with 60-70 mhs adds up really quickly.

its not a dirty little secret, you're also forgetting that ltc (and other alts) at the time where basically worthless. equally someone could have bought 100s of 1000s for next to nothing.

wooo, look bagholders, these people have made bitcoin and litecoin the biggest ponzi in history. good both of em are dying

"There shall be no life without utmost stupidity" something you seem to be confirming, do you even know what a ponzi is?
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Ponzi Game - Litecoin hot potator game for fun and profit! on: April 10, 2014, 08:18:11 AM
now I know there's a 30 ltc cap, so I guess to start you're not suppose to do multiple 30 ltc deposits, but is it ok once you've been paid to submit more ltc in that round (especially if there are rounds that go for 7 days) ?

We need 5 coins for each street

and each of those 5 coins will need a street view, aerial view and satellite view coin   Cool

and who says we don't need rules here ?

now scammers are posting what they themselves call Ponzi schemes WHICH ARE ILLEGAL

just when you think the bar can't get any lower we sink even lower..

A ponzi scheme is illegal because investors don't know they are being scammed and the interested recieved is out of others deposits (not the operator successfully making profits).

This is a GAME every player knows the game, knows where the money comes from, knows they can make 20% or lose it all, so no one bets more then they can lose.

I've played several rounds and have been paid the 20% profit each time  Grin

Now? giant premines? "IPO"? NO PROBLEM... insta-listing. Dump. As long as there are so many places to "get out of a coin" not much is going to happen in the alt world until you actually have to nurture value out of a coin....

solution only buy into established alts with proper dev and community.....but that's lost on alot of the get rich types around here.

2371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who remembers litecoin @ $1 ?? on: April 08, 2014, 12:31:26 PM
Alot of us must of felt like pioneers back then. Just when the world was learning about Bitcoin, we were balls deep into LTC and other legacy coins like TRC, PPC, NMC, DVC and NVC. Heck even some of us "veterens" don't even remember Tenebrix, Fairbrix or Solidcoin.

I remember getting 25 LTC from a user on BTC-E when it was about 60 cents, as a gift. He had mined a ton of them at mere pennies and told me these exact words.

"keep the blockchain going"

Its one of the few things that makes me not quit the scene. Money comes and goes, but being a part of history is priceless.

Its getting harder now with all these scams going around. It seems like we are just drowning in sewage.

yeah but when you've been around these parts long enough you realise those not in it for the fiat end up being the crypto wealthy........

2372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Creator (Charlie Lee) Recommends Merged Mining with Dogecoin on: April 08, 2014, 11:55:54 AM
You all seem to forget the ONLY reason for the existence of Litecoin (and all the other Scrypt coins, BTW) is that it uses a different hashing algo that was supposed to be ASIC resistant.

incorrect initially it was designed for gpu resistance. also other (be it slight) improvements over btc.
2373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Creator (Charlie Lee) Recommends Merged Mining with Dogecoin on: April 08, 2014, 11:52:55 AM
Litecoin's value is purely hype from the LTC on Gox hype.

May they both share the same fate.

Dogecoin took the jihad mentality out of cryptocoins.

I have my own reasons for going with other coins, but that one thing is the reason why dogecoin has value.

dunno the chinese exchanges took ltc further then gox would have.

dogecoin's the flavor of the month type, stuff like that only last til the next fad comes along.
2374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Update: Dogecoin says "NO THANKS". on: April 08, 2014, 08:00:38 AM
The arrogance of some Litecoin advocates is probably one of the reasons for the Dogecoin dev and community declining the offer, they are too nice to directly say that though.

The post was very relevant btw, it being posted on reddit doesn't mean it's unworthy for your mind. I think you wanted to know the result aswell, right?

Check this counter offer btw: http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/22hsnc/my_counteroffer_to_charlie_lee_well_patch/ (omg evil reddit link)

In a merged mining scenario, there's two (or more) players: the PARENT blockchain, and the AUXILIARY blockchain(s)
coblee's suggestion is that Dogecoin becomes the Auxiliary blockchain, and Litecoin retains the Parent status.
*snip*
My suggestion is simple (EDIT: see below for why it totally isn't.): Dogecoin becomes the Parent, LTC becomes the auxiliary.
*snip

results? I'm embarrassed that Charlie Lee would even concider dogecoin was anything but a joke and a bad one at that.

From Charlie Lee:

[–]coblee [score hidden] 27 minutes ago

I sent this to Jackson in an email, but will post here also.

Fair enough. I would recommend revisiting this at each halving. Doge has a unique design that, some believe (me included), doesn't work well with mining. Satoshi made mining last many many years before transaction fees take over. This is because he knew that it's not sustainable otherwise. Doge has to succeed or die in 1 year. It's too short of a time. You will need to be THE dominant crypto in your mining class in order to survive this. So the solution is either merged mining or switch to another algorithm. To me, it's pretty clear. BUT, I won't bet against Doge overcoming this. So it is possible that you can overcome this, but it means that you need to defeat Litecoin (in market cap and hashrate) within a year. I obviously don't expect to see that happen.

Also, do realize that it will be much harder for you to hard fork at a future date. You will have the same problem Litecoin has today with hard forks. Feel free to bounce ideas off me in the future. To the moon!

2379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How hard is it to recover coins sent to address of a different coin? on: April 07, 2014, 10:35:33 AM
The coins are lost now, you cannot recover sent coins, if you could then crytpo would be pointless

What absolute garbage, the coins sent in the OP's situation are very easily recovered, however you need the exchange to come to the party, but for them it is very simple.

cryptsy doesnt recover coins sent to wrong address
read their tos.

perhaps its too annoying for em

yes I'd say they'd just put it in the cbf basket, but thats pretty poor customer service.

banks will have in the tos typing the right account number is up to the client, but still recover money sent to the wrong account.
