A strong U.S. dollar and now this. Maybe my next vacation should be to España?

Thanks @ Deathwing and @ emrebey

I am not going there soon, but I love Turkey and next time I will be sure to connect! It would be fun to have some elma tea and talk about bitcoin.

3264  Other / Off-topic / Re: IF YOU CAN USE YOUR BRAIN CAPACITY 100 % on: April 20, 2015, 05:47:26 PM
You do use all your brain. By this logic I could cut away the overwhelming majority of my brain and be fine. This was never thought to be true by anyone who studies the brain. It's Oprah level crap.
3265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin A Tool For CyberCriminals on: April 20, 2015, 05:38:50 PM
Cash is a tool for criminals, and while Bitcoin might be much easier for cybercriminals, I don't think we should be too focused on that fact.
+1
Cash is a tool for criminals. Does that really take an expert to realize?
3266  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin is VAT-exempt in Spain on: April 20, 2015, 05:34:22 PM
Hmm. Strong dollar and now this. Maybe my next vacation should be a trip back to España?
3267  Local / Türkçe (Turkish) / Re: Hala havaalanında bir Bitcoin ATM var mı? on: April 20, 2015, 05:31:41 PM
Hi, As far as I know the ATM doesn't work or it isn't there anymore, But there're lots of friends in Istanbul to make exchange in person.

Thanks for the response. I guess I will have to do a trade in the city somewhere. I use an apartment near Taxim, but when I really need one is as I'm leaving Turkey.

~Cheers!
3268  Other / Off-topic / Re: IS UFO or ALIENS are real ? on: April 20, 2015, 05:18:37 PM
i dont think aliens and ufos are visiting earch today but there are alot species out there:

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/04/08/us/feat-nasa-scientist-alien-life/
That has been getting a lot of press lately, but as an evolutionary biologist I think it is a claim without merit. We talk about life like we have a clue what it is. In fact science has zero explanation for the existence of life. We don't know what it is, why it is, if it's common or unique. We can't make it, we don't even know what life needs.
You will hear NASA talk about the "habitable zone", not too hot or cold. They search for water and oxygen on planets. But why? The life here evolved here and may be extremely different than the norm. Perhaps most life lives in stars and requires temperatures orders of magnitude greater than here? Perhaps water is a poison to most life? Oxygen, for example, destroyed most of the life on Earth when it first appeared.
The reality is that with only one example a conclusion cannot be drawn. It seems likely to me, but it is not likely in the mathematical sense. It is possible that this is it. One weird place that something inexplicable happened that led to what we call life. Since all living things on Earth are related and really represent one living thing, it seems to have only started here once anyway.

Ben daha sonra bu yıl İstanbul'da olacağını düşünüyorum. Ben ayrılmadan önce benim Lirası satmak için bir ATM kullanmak isterim. O Atatürk Havalimanı'nda eğer hala herkes biliyor musun?

I worry that they are thinking of THEIR blockchains? It's about time for the banks to enter the alt-coin phase of understanding. "Who need bitcoin when you could get BoA happycoins."  Roll Eyes
3271  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Vote] Who did 911? on: April 20, 2015, 04:44:15 PM
A vote is always a good way to determine truth. It's how we knew the Earth was flat for thousands of years.  Cheesy

The shape of the earth didn't matter to those who weren't affected by knowing it. Those who needed the knowledge for some particular purpose, knew the earth wasn't flat... like Columbus. Ferdinand and Isabella understood the truth when Columbus showed it to them. They simply were quiet about it, because the Roman Church - which always wants to keep people ignorant of the truth - was powerful in those days.

Many other people understood that the earth wasn't flat.

However, maybe it is flat.

 Cheesy

Yes. I did know that since at least the Greeks many people knew the world was round. But that would ruin a perfectly good wisecrack.  Grin

3273  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Amagi Metals on: April 20, 2015, 04:38:31 PM
I have used them to buy gold. They are fine and I trust them. But it does take longer than expected and I have received damaged goods. Well, a broken seal on a 10oz. bar. The gold was fine however.
I would use them again.

3275  Economy / Economics / Re: New rebublic Liberland to accept BTC as currency on: April 17, 2015, 05:52:25 PM
The website says it's in some kind of no mans land. But on maps its in Serbia. I think if you killed someone here you would find the Serb policija informing you that you are actually in Serbia.
3276  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I find todays new accounts? So I can ignore them on: April 17, 2015, 05:28:23 PM
Oh thanks! I thought there was some kind of unlinked page for those stats.

That doesn't seem like a good idea to me....

Your right there is alot of newbie trolls but there is also a couple of newbies that know what there talking about.
Why don't you just ignore them as you read through different threads?
You guys are right. I don't plan on ignoring them before giving them a post or two. But today for example I saw a new account and the first three words posted: "bitcoin will fail". Of course this account was created to just say that and I seriously doubt that the poster believes it. I'm open to hearing dissenting opinions, but not outright nonsense.
Look at this brand new account for example.

My guess, that is not a name that is going to be a productive poster.
3277  Other / Meta / Where can I find todays new accounts? So I can ignore them on: April 17, 2015, 04:30:40 PM
Since many new accounts are created each day to spew nonsense that I have no time for, I would like to just start ignoring them as they are created. I see no need to sift through obvious troll rubbish, scam loan requests, and the like. If we are not going to require nubie jail, then I am just going to ignore all new users who start off junking up the forums.

So is there a way to see all the new accounts created?
3278  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So this is what Society has become.. on: April 16, 2015, 08:47:19 PM
...
When boys have the freedom to do whatever they want, why aren't girls having this freedom? I doubt if this dance video featured boys, there would be any kind of investigation.
...

I think controlling girls is what it's all about. Many women and girls just don't care what men think anymore. Since a lot of men still consider women some kind of societal property they are offended when they see them acting out and making their own decisions. Times have changed. girls are going to cuss when they want, dress how they like, and f#{< who they want. And it's not going to be the guy who thinks they need protection.

Having said that. It was a poor decision to include this in a school dance performance. These are still kids, and what has not changed is that all kids need help making good decisions. I doubt they have a grasp on why this could work against them in the future.
3279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think quantum computers would break Bitcoin's security? on: April 16, 2015, 08:34:48 PM
This has been talked about a lot.  Quantum computers will not break Bitcoin's security.

But to put it in crude terms:  Quantum computers suck.  They worse than suck because if they sucked that would at least provide some benefit.  Quantum computers do nothing.  And they take a really long time to get that nothing done.  Quantum computing has been around for dozens of years now and still hasn't even done nothing.

And on top of that Quantum computers have the potential of sucking even worse.  In 10 maybe 20 years quantum computers will be wasting more time than all of our blank stares put together.
Oh I don't know man. They are mostly theoretical at the moment but could develop into something beyond what we even think of as computing. Having the Qbit available for computation is a powerful idea. It is already being used as a practical tool in espionage. There is no greater security in messaging than systems using quantum entanglement.

Forbidding religion is not the same as educating people enough to intellectually understand why religion is delusional nonsense.

The world of religion is becoming history and atheism is simply not a bad word anymore. That is what I think led to the current arguments that attempt to tie atheism with something people don't like. Or to try arguing that it is really a religion. A religion without a God?
