3301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling risks during coronavirus pandemic on: May 13, 2021, 01:28:55 PM
This could benefit those who keep gambling, particularly now, when, as you said, most gamblers are spending 24/7 in their homes gambling due to the pandemic, making them more vulnerable to gambling addiction. It's a serious problem that most of us can't even regulate or discipline ourselves when it comes to gambling because we have the mentality of making a quick buck. May I consider defi trading to be a form of gambling as well? If that's the case, money drive us insane. It keeps me investing in coins that have no guarantee of going x2. So be cautious about something that involves money because it will make us greedy for profit, particularly now that the pandemic has hit and we don't have any good sources of income; many people have lost their jobs, and they are thinking of gambling to benefit rather than saving.

I don't think that trading and gambling are the same thing. Sure both of these can be addicting but there are lot of differences. For example, with gambling we know our odds beforehand and we are either losing or winning, there is no stalemate or something like that. As for trading, we are not only winning and losing. The price can move against us, but as long as we are not selling we are not making a real loss. We still have the coin and can just hold it for a long time until the price recovers. This doesn't mean however that we don't need to protect ourselves from addiction, both trading and gambling addiction is very serious.
3302  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders Don't easily lend out money. on: May 13, 2021, 01:14:39 PM
If you happen to be an active trader or know people that trade actively, you will notice that traders do not easily give out money ( i.e lend out money) not because they don't have to give but because their capital is actively and most times always involved a trade.

You have to understand as a friend to traders that even in times when big wins are celebrated, it is not still a time to ask them to help you with money for your needs with the thought that they are in profit, because if you do you will get yourself disappointed nine times in ten chances.

Work for your own money, nobody owes you anything.

As a trader we need to use our own money for trading. The problem with lending away coins is that we won't be able to trade when we see a good opportunity. Sure we get a decent return on our coins for lending them, but I think that we can get more money by trading. Lending away coins is usually more for investors who have a long term approach. If we just hold coins in our wallet and don't trade them than we need other ways to earn money in the meantime. Lending away coins can be a good way for investors to make a little return while just holding our coins.
3303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin plunges 17% after Elon Musk tweets on not accepting cryptocurrency on: May 13, 2021, 12:56:31 PM
https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/bitcoin-plunges-17-after-elon-musk-tweet-on-tesla-not-accepting-cryptocurrency-11620873189800.html

"We are concerned about rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining and transactions, especially coal, which has the worst emissions of any fuel," Musk wrote.

I smell shenanigans.

Honestly this is so rigged, we need an global agency to go and fight against such actions. First Elon Musk buys a lot of Bitcoins when they are cheap, then he goes and promotes them on Twitter to get the price to rise. Once the price rises he is just selling his coins with a nice profit. After that he is just stop promoting BTCs and saying that Tesla won't accept BTC anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to buy coins again when the price is down to 30,000 or 20,000 USD.
3304  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla stops car purchases with Bitcoin on: May 13, 2021, 12:49:07 PM

Your thoughts on this? Are cryptocurrencies, and, in particular, Bitcoin, that harming to the environment when compared to cash? Or is this just an excuse for screwing people over?

I don't feel like that crypto currencies are harming the environment more than any traditional FIAT currency. We need to consider so many factors when comparing FIAT to crypt currency. Printing money and minting coins requires a lot of resources and energy, the same goes for running a lot of different banking offices across the country. Delivering money to the ATMs also consumes a lot of fuel. So if we consider all these factors than traditional money requires much more energy than cryptos. I don't like that Elon Musks buys a lot of Bitcoins, hypes them on Twitter just to make a good profit and now gets out of the market.
3305  Other / Off-topic / Re: whats important to know? on: May 13, 2021, 12:34:12 PM
i havent been active in crypto for a while, completely forgot everything

what are some main points that have changed or is important to know?

It is important to know where to store our coins, and to make sure that we have full security over our wallet. All the trading in the world makes no difference if we can't make sure to protect our coins in an secure wallet. Other than that I don't think much changed over the last few years. We got a lot of new alt coins but trading them is similar to the past. We need to make sure that we do our research before trading.
3306  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin for everyone on: May 12, 2021, 10:48:56 AM
A different idea could be to make a compelete new coin and everybody gets one. The number of coins is fixed with exactly the number of people on the earth when it is created. For showing your passport everybody can claim exactly 1 coin. So every coin would be given away for free and then they can be traded on the the big exchanges. It is hard to imagine what would happen, but I would expect that many people would instantly sell their coin for some free money. So the initial price would be very low. But once the initial coins are sold I would expect the price to rise.
3307  Other / Off-topic / Re: SMILE 😊 on: May 12, 2021, 10:32:51 AM

No matter how it gets, do your best to smile. It may not change your current situation, but it  can help with your mood, no matter how little.

Moods can affect your perspective.

Remember to smile 😊

You will win this one.

Thank you for this one OP. Positivity is very important in today's difficult times. As long as we stay positive we will win this one.

And we can also help others  by smiling. A smile to someone else can make a big difference in their day.
3308  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hamas attacks Israel citizens, Israel attacks Hamas terror targets on: May 12, 2021, 10:19:50 AM
The terrorist organization Hamas, has recently launched hundreds of missiles targeting Israeli citizens. Some of the missiles exploded while still in Gaza (where Hamas is based), and Israel was able to use its missile defense system, the Iron Dome, to shot down the majority of the missiles before hitting their civilian targets. Unfortunately, not all missiles were destroyed, and some Israeli civilians were killed, and Israeli citizens were forced to go into bomb shelters for safety.

In response, the IDF, Israeli Defense Force, launched airstrikes against 130 terrorist targets. Hamas prefers to use citizens of Gaze as human shields, however the IDF will contact civilians before conducting air strikes, giving them the opportunity to move to safety before the targets are taken out.

What do you think? Is Hamas right to target Israeli civilians, who are innocent? Is Hamas right to use citizens of Gaza as human shields in order to protect their military assets from air strikes by Israel?

I think that any violence is wrong, Hamas is wrong and so is Israel. We are living in 2021 and are fighting a global pandemic. Can't we move on from all this war and terror. Why can't the international community force Israel and Hamas onto a table together? There must be a solution for this fighting. We should all work on a compromise. Maybe Israel is stronger and has more power, but still for a comprise everybody has to give something up. Just let the people live in peace, without violence.
3309  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slapping Tournament on: May 12, 2021, 10:15:42 AM
wow, I never imagined that a slap tournament could become a gambling competition!!

I don't know about the slap tournament, I only saw a few videos on youtube, but is there already a betting platform for slap tournaments?!??
I think not yet many betting platforms for slap tournaments because that sport is not too popular in other countries. Maybe if many promotions about that sport start and live in many places, it could give that sport grow and someday, many betting platforms will add that sport to their list.

We already see many sports that more brutal than the slap tournament and those sports already gets their fan and it can grow now. But for a slap tournament, it needs more time to attract more audience to become popular.

The small market of slapping tournaments is what makes it difficult for bookmakers to make bets on it I think. Whenever I watch videos on the sport than I notice that there is no real weight or height category. The difference between the athletes is quite substantial. And it seems that the heavier guy always wins, except if there is a low shot. So for this to turn into a real betting sport we need more contestants, fans and also more rules.
3310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: it's hard to sleep because of thinking about something on: May 12, 2021, 09:28:40 AM
Worried about missing out on valuable moments to profit from short-term trades in easily-pumped altcoins.
Many people say short-term trading is too time-consuming, and it turns out to be true
How to deal with a situation like this, can you guys give me suggestions and input?
It is, I tried it too and you have to give it as much time as possible, constantly looking at what is happening in the market it terms of price actions. Since I have decided to do more of a medium to long term, I am more calm and relaxed and I believe I have lost less that I was doing short term trading.

I had the same experience when short term trading. If you don't stay up to date all the time you will just lose money. It is so important to keep one eye open all the time. In the end its very time consuming and everybody needs to decide for himself if it is worth it or not. If we have other important things like work and a family than I would advise against day trading. With a more long term approach we can be much happier.
3311  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you aware of Shrinkflation? on: May 12, 2021, 09:18:36 AM
Things that continue to be done in a company that make a profit for them. Ordinary people who don't really understand will feel happy with discounts or other forms of promos. but actually everyone is deceived by it all. But all companies will also think about how to market a product they will sell.
Consider the persoective of the businesses though, they have to make a profit and they have to adapt with the current prices of raw materials to make their product which also goes up. I didn't know that it was called shrinkflation but I have seen and observe this happening in my country although it doesn't really affect me as an individual, I am sure that my country's economy is fucked if I can see it then.

Companies definitely need to make profit but that can be communicated openly. There is no need to try and trick the consumers. Increasing prices on the normal package is fine from time to time. If this happens multiple times per year it already feels a bit wierd. But this shrinkinflation is just a rip off in my opinion. There is no need to make the packages smaller at the same prices. This is just to trick the consumer that the price remains the same. And most of us won't notice if it was 150g and now its 120g for example.

This sounds very interesting, who doesn't want to become famous in Korea  Cheesy.

A few more information would be nice as well. Will this interview being done in English? Is it going to live or recorded before? How many times will the interview being shown on TV? How long is the interview and will there be any payments for the interviewee?

Sorry for all these questions.
3313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you ready for Virtual sports based stock market? on: May 12, 2021, 09:04:35 AM
Question,  do they have options so that their platform can accept cryptocurrencies or do they have policies that would be friendly to cryptocurrency? I think if they introduce cryptocurrencies and if accepted will surely increase their player base. Even though the idea is not new, the thing that got changed here is they will offer these so called "stocks" and it can be used as chips and you will be able to use it to gamble with all other players in the platform. I think it is a good idea to push this kind of platform.

I agree with you, any new platform that opens up in 2021 or later should include crypto currencies. BTCs are used already with many sites, but it would be nice if all the common alt coins could be accepted too. The more payment methods are accepted the more new members would sign up. And for a stock exchange to be effective it needs many traders. Without them there wouldn't be many bid and ask prices, creating a big spread and not being efficient.
3314  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Untied States Dollar or FED Stamps? What are your thoughts on the current WRC? on: May 12, 2021, 08:49:34 AM
I don't think that there is any chance that the Yuan or any alt coin would become the new global reserve currency. China is definitely pushing for it, but western countries will never accept it. So the only two plausible choices are USD and BTC in my opinion. If BTC keeps growing at the same rate it did in the last 6 months than it could definitely become a big rival to USD. But maybe it takes another 15-20 years.
3315  Economy / Economics / Re: If we have crypto Why people still buy stocks? on: May 12, 2021, 08:45:37 AM
I think because stocks comes first before cryptocurrencies. With that, more people knew stocks than crpyto. Since we can also earn from stock, they already have spend a lot of time in studying on how to invest and earn from it. They become committed to stocks, they may have no time for crypto, they may see the higher risk from crypto and since they are already earning from stocks, there is no reason for them to find something new to earn.

This is a huge factor, my dad would never invest in crypto currencies but he is trading stocks. And he keeps buying high risk stocks at the wrong time, with cryptos he would have made some decent money instead of losing it with stocks. Another big factor for stocks is that most retirement funds invest heavily in stocks. In my insurance policy I can choose between 15-20 different investment funds. 70% of those funds are stock funds, with a few bond and commodity funds. There is no option do by crypto funds.

3317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sumo betting seems rigged - can you make profit with it? on: May 12, 2021, 08:12:17 AM
It has been said that Sumo, the Japanese fighting sport is not as clean as it should be. Apparently, in the maximum cathegory - short of a premier league - there is tendency to let win those who need to win in order to remain in that cathegory. This was studied and mentioned later on a book called Freakconomics.

An article here-

Do you feel that knowing that a sport may be rigged you could actually turn it in your favour?

That is very interesting. I like freakconomics, they make good articles. Not really sure about the sumo betting market but we might be able to profit of it. This sounds like a strong bond between the athletes. Maybe the bookmaker already includes such tendencies into his odds, but still there should be some profit to be made. If the stronger sumo ringer let's the underdog win in the last match than we should be able to exploit. Has anyone bet in sumo fights on a crypto site?
3318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you ready for Virtual sports based stock market? on: May 11, 2021, 09:11:54 AM
Yes you read the title correctly! Paddy power, the son of David power is all set to make this come true ! This is actually very different and innovative at the same time.

You will be able to buy and sell shares of a team and sell them on the platform. Even gamble with them!

They already are accepting beta players to download and test the whole thing out !

Expected performance will have a huge importance and it will mainly target US players!

They are already going to partner with the US teams and get all in into advertising.

They aren't looking for big investors but they have recently started a crowd funding campain!!

Do you think they will succeed or die like football index??

https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/11861/son-of-paddy-power-founder-to-launch-virtual-sport-based-stock-market

This sounds interesting, I like fantasy leagues. But is this going to be with real money in USD or GBP, or just some artificial ingame currency? If this is based on real FIAT money that there could be a lot of problems, like how to make sure to minors are involved, and what about the proper licences to gamble in all major countries? If they secure enough money with their crowdfunding campaign it could already be a small hype. I would bet that many crowd funding investors are going to gamble on the new platform.
3319  Other / Off-topic / Re: No matter If you try to educate People they never listen on: May 11, 2021, 08:59:57 AM

Humans are waste no point to try to educate they never listen Even you tell them all the facts,

But dont Cry and complain after!
Dont complain knowledge is evetywhere but you Even dont try to look for it.

Upcoming new crisis make sure you dont cry!
And dont complain.
And dont ask how the World works!
Just be the loser but dont complain

This sums it up pretty well. Humans are very biased and judgemental beings who like to make their own opinion very quickly. Once we come up with an point of view of the future then it will be very hard to change our mind. Even if you are a 100% correct and make good arguments, people are not likely to believe you. If we don't take your advise beforehand we shouldn't be crying afterwards. If we want to stick to our own opinion we need to own any mistakes coming from it.
3320  Economy / Economics / Re: If Something is cheap you Buy it Buy the dips on: May 11, 2021, 08:44:06 AM
Uhh, I don't think that's how it works. USD may have huge upside potential but it's been a few years now and it has still yet to see good gains so far. Besides, hyperinflation is there so even if USD became profitable, it probably won't be for long because it will be hyperinflated provided that the people of America used their dollars the same way they are using it now.

Until usd are reserve currency and we have deflation it means demand for dollars go bigger.

I am not so sure about it. Yes USD is a the global reserve currency number one and a lot of people will always be trading in it. This is not likely to change any time soon. But Biden is issuing a lot of stimulus projects at the moment. All this new money being injected into the economy has inflationary tendencies in my opinion. At first the USD will be less valuable because of more money, but he long term pressure from stronger economy should be upwards. The FED might try to stop this but with an inflation target of around 2% we should see the USD to become stronger again.
