3381  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: anyone got a spare 1352.254 BTC on: December 17, 2014, 09:23:16 PM
What concerns me more is that those miners behind him are actually set up for mining; as in not manufacture, but farming...

Does that mean Bitmain is actually doing "burn-in-testing" on the live net too (before selling it to "us")?!?

Its a US farm so its probably on behalf of a customer.
3382  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: December 17, 2014, 09:19:40 PM
Will the BE300 boards fit into the Prisma fan/heatsink body?

Yes!  That would be great since there are probably tons of prisma heatsinks and fans laying around with the buy-back.  Since you would only need to ship the new boards, you can save money with shipping.

From earlier statements it appears that the power density of BE300 miners will be lower, and so won't need nearly the same levels of cooling. Sure if a few of the screw holes match up you could put them onto Prisma heatsinks but at this point it may just be overkill.
3383  Other / Meta / Re: How do I find my bitcointalk ID? on: December 17, 2014, 09:14:30 PM
This is the link to your profile, your id is the 6 digit number at the end
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=399802

You are a newbie now, it will take you 8 months minimum to be a senior. Too early to worry about that now  Cheesy

Only scrubs have a 6 digit Wink But anyway, user IDs are 1-6 characters and aren't fixed length.
3384  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to somehow download all personal messages? on: December 17, 2014, 09:08:35 PM
Install Bitcointalk++. It has a feature that loads all your inbox messages. Once installed, click on the "BT++ Settings"-tab and there you will find a link named "List of your PMs". Let it load all your messages (sometimes it hangs, just refresh the page) and save the page once it's done. Now you have backup-ed all your Inbox PM's.

I don't feel comfortable giving a third party access to my account or messages, as would most people I think. All sorts of scripts and add-ons turn rouge once they get enough users.
3385  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to somehow download all personal messages? on: December 17, 2014, 09:07:07 PM
No but there really should be one.

I would think the people who conduct business would have hundreds of pages worth of messages and the search function for PMs is really not very good, and people could create their own DB of their PMs if they could be downloaded

Surely a download feature would be useful but the search function is pretty easy:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=search

It sucks, you can't search just by user to see any pm's sent or received, have to put something to search for so it's kind of useless.

Indeed, so frustrating!
3386  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Uneasy about Advertising for Bitmixer.io.. on: December 17, 2014, 09:02:41 PM
Does it matter? Its his forum and his liability, he's free to choose what he allows or doesn't in terms of advertising. He doesn't need a concrete reason.

except it's not his forum.
Yes it is. He says that it belongs to the community however from a legal standpoint he does own it. Any decision that he makes here can potentially cause him to have some kind of personal liability. His reasoning for not wanting to accept bitmixer's bid likely has something to do with fear of liability (probably criminal) - at least in my opinion

This forum belongs to the community as much as your house does. We live in a capitalistic world, people have to own things.
3387  Other / Meta / Re: Forum 250 Btc theft, what's being done about it? Inside job? on: December 17, 2014, 08:59:40 PM
Thats a bit of a stretch, account of deceased has been logged in to -> his traceable holdings for the forums have been stolen -> he's actually alive and on the run -> theymos was in on it.

Can we /foil for a moment and just look at the address of the bitcoins?
3388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [17th Dec] on: December 17, 2014, 08:53:43 PM
Am I reading this right..no quality issues for AM? Have you looked at the Prisma thread?? The tubes also had problems, and the RMA process is horrible too. To this day I own right around 90 ASIC miners all hashing and AM is the ONLY company that has ever sold me DOA hardware...2 times in a row.

Yes, you read it wrong.

Quote
ASICMiner Hardware Issues? Down from 'No' to 'Minor' (10 to 6). *Prisma suffered 'major' problems, but the company is offering more than fair buyback terms so customers are not out of pocket.
3389  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: anyone got a spare 1352.254 BTC on: December 17, 2014, 08:48:44 PM
I'm not sure why you made a thread for this, its already been announced and discussed in the S4 thread. There are too many threads as it is. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=796839.msg9865691#msg9865691
3390  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization on: December 17, 2014, 08:45:58 PM
Dogie, stop being an obnoxious twat. I love the way you choose not to quote the most relevant part that was highlighted & underscored so as to be easily seen, ie:

R&D team members who are providing supports in this thread:

    ktzhan
    xlc1985

It also clearly says that the two are R&D (Research & Development) - not engineers as you also wrongly state.

You make yourself look more stupid every post here. Always wrong. Go away...... Roll Eyes

I don't think being an 'R&Der' is a career. I believe you'll find the correct term is an engineer, as is their job title and as I already said. Its also amusing that you think an 'R&Der''s job is to 'support'. No, they're engineers that develop and maintain their products, in this case Antpool.

Its pretty clear you don't actually care about this subject matter or any of the other threads you follow me into, and you're just posting do you can swear at me. Why don't you open a scam accusation thread so you can concentrate all your abuse in one place?
3391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain and the Antminer L1 on: December 17, 2014, 05:40:56 PM
Yup, that's an awesome policy.   Kiss  I'm sure its gonna go over big with everyone if it sticks..

It's not the policy, I'm sorting it now. I'll let you know more soon.
3392  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: December 17, 2014, 04:56:19 PM
How big is the risk of the final BE300 design not working or underperforming (like BE200) after receiving the final chips?

I would suspect BE300's risk is terminal, which isn't always a bad thing. Some times you have to go all in, and with careful planning and prep, clear the table.
3393  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization on: December 17, 2014, 04:24:26 PM
Yet another bitmain support account

They're not 'support' accounts, they're accounts for engineers to use.

Wrong again dogie, as usual - read what it says:

Those are both engineers. You can make up whatever you want, it doesn't make it true.
3394  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: December 17, 2014, 03:43:49 PM
Do you know amount that is non taxed if importing goods in to USA? (400$ ?)
added: as far as i know you cant get goods until they are cleared from customs... unless im missing something

If its coming from China to US or from Europe to US there won't be any customs, duty or tax charges AFAIK, there isn't usually.

My units have been shipping via EU so far. Its really weird when the UPS guy comes and doesn't demand payment :s
3395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 17, 2014, 03:39:29 PM
I think they're paying him to post on everybody else's threads except bitmains........ Cheesy Cheesy

This is not a thread I monitor, I only hop in and out.
3396  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [17th Dec] on: December 17, 2014, 03:25:38 PM
I'd suggest changing on time for technobit from Yes to Mix until the issues with their minion group buy are resolved.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=682105.1280

Can you explain why its Technobit's fault and not BA's fault in the GB please?

Also, I would suggest changing HashCoins from F to O for ethics until they can adequately address the serious issues that ckolivas and I have raised in their thread.

I don't like the manner in which they were attacked in that thread, ie "its a scam unless you do x y z and I've given you negative trust". There are Zeus customers out there and they haven't complained, so its more than possible what they've claimed is correct. I know you and CK say it isn't in your views, but then were are the complaining customers? There is a good chance that cgminer / the chips are simply behaving in a way not observed yet.
3397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 17, 2014, 03:19:43 PM
I was just on the Bitmain site. They have removed all of the S3 firmware.

Just the bad one is removed.
